Philadelphia policeman Curtis Ghee has been on patrol on the worst of the Philadelphia streets.  At first he loves the cops and robbers.  Because you're supposed to when you're young.  Then he sees that things have got to change.  And Curtis can effect change.   My first favorite quote “If I got to knuckle up with you I'll knuckle up with you.”  My next favorite quote “Your future is not ahead of you it's inside of you. God did not put your future outside of you he put it inside of you.”  And there's more!  Whether your locked up in jail or locked up in your mind Curtis is here to help you find your god given destiny…Episode notes:Check out the Tools For A Good Life Summit here: Virtually and FOR FREE https://bit.ly/ToolsForAGoodLifeSummitCurtis is a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a husband, father, a Philadelphia Police Officer, inspirational speaker and a mentor to many.  He is also the co-founder of Uncuffed Potential with his wife Falesha.  Their mission is education people to unlock their potential to live their life's purpose. And here's his story:Took police test 1990.   Had been hiding behind education….  Purpose is in your heart.  He likes helping people draw that out. Seeing a kid die.   And then the killer in court. He was a killer. A young kid. A nut case. No remorse. He is certified.  Curtis hears the killers story. In court. Mom burns his whole arm on a stove when he was 3.  He was shot twice by time 13.  At 18 shot multiple times.  There is not a dry eye in the place, serious policemen are crying… It is a turning point in Curtis's life.  Emailed his pastor. A cop starting a prison ministry, it doesn't make sense, yet that is what Curt does. His purpose. “I knew he had the power and the authority to hand cuff people and arrest them.  But now I realized I have the same power and authority to uncuff peoples potential.   To help them uncuff their potential.  That is where Uncuffed Potential comes from.Rodney King. In spite oh what happened there.  I wanted to be an agent of change. As a young law officer He loved the cat and mouse.  The cops and robbers.  But I started to see the same people.  If I got to knuckle up with you I'll knuckle up with you. In 2002 became the district community relations officer.  The liaison btw the department and the community. That was a turning point. 2002-2006. You got to see the good people in the community. That's when I got to start speaking to kids in schools.I never liked to tear a person down without giving them something to build them selves up.  Just speaking to people - I'm not going to have you do something i wouldn't do.I have a vested interest in this community.Your future is not ahead of you it's inside of you. God did not put your future outside of you he put it inside of you. There is something inside of you. There is greatness in you. And you just need someone to help you Identify it. Once you learn it now you've got to take responsibility for your life.I was shot at.  Jan 1999.  I got a plaque.  You patrolled that bad part of Philly.  Do you feel like you were able to affect change.  Somebody will water the seed that I planted. “There's officer Ghee”Works with officers with trauma. Cops have real life issues like everyone else; plus some.At this point as Curt is talking I'm feeling the humanness of a police officer; it's a heavy moment.I am able to help the police officers. I am able to affect change. I do see see that. He says in a completely humble way that “I come highly recommended from his superior officers.”He's in a Les Brown book. “Ignite The Hunger In You”.  Being distributed by JB Owen and her company. His story in there is called “Un Cuffed Potential”.  “It's about helping people to address and break through life long limitations that have been keeping them from achieving the dreams, aspirations, and desires they want for their lives.”  He was that person. Regarding success…  Sometimes we can climb the ladder and look around and see that we climbed the wrong ladder. You might start off in prison but your destiny still awaits you.  Your destiny still awaits you if you want it.PassionPotentialPurposePlanning5 keys to your destiny: free your mind change your life. Scheduled to come out in dec 2021.Actionable steps for changing their perspective.   It's not a matter of changing the system, in some regards you just have to change your perspective. You have to change how you see yourself in the system.   Purpose is the original intent of a thing. Nothing has been created that doesn't have a purpose. What is the thing you do the best with the least amount of effort?  What's the thing that when you're around it it makes you feel like “man I was born to do this?”The Un Cuffed Potential is the thing I'm most passionate about. Arresting people is a necessary evil it's not the overall solution.  Change a person. Given the pace of modern life and the fact that people tend to keep a smartphone at hand 24/7, it's not uncommon for a cash-practice to receive some pretty tricky questions in writing rather than in-person. So what's the best way to handle such sensitive price questions—given the obvious limitations inherent in responding by email or text—so their decision isn't reduced to only dollars and cents? In this episode, I walk you through how to manage written rate questions in a way that maximizes your potential to turn those prospects into paying customers. You'll learn exactly how you can create an opportunity to understand the potential patient's needs, so you can get them excited about the level of care you provide and help them understand the high value of your services.  And for more on the topic of answering questions on cost, check out my Masterclass series that teaches how to confidently answer the dreaded question: “Do you take my insurance?” You'll learn how to skillfully guide the initial phone conversation and convert the maximum number of prospects into cash-pay customers.  This “highlight” is taken from Q&A calls with my Mastermind Gold group—a highly interactive, supportive group where people who have tons of questions and concerns about how to start, grow, or transition to a cash-based private practice get the answers, resources, and confidence they need to build the practice of their dreams. We have a group coaching call every week, and we occasionally use excerpts of those calls for this podcast. Episode #106: The Big Emailed Invoice Processing Mistake [Save Time and Money]

This big emailed invoice processing mistake is made at about 60% of all companies, Eliminating it would save time and money. Printing invoices is the dirty little secret, the big emailed invoice processing mistake that most companies don't like to talk about or even admit they have. In fact, many don't even realize they have it. By stopping this questionable practice, companies can save time and money. It will also make their #invoiceprocessing more efficient. So why do so many continue printing invoices? They print emailed invoices because it makes the data entry process go a little easier. But by printing the invoice, you give back a lot of the process improvements attributable to receiving emailed invoices. Making a dent on the #accountspayable issue related to #emailedinvoices helps. Companies everywhere now email the invoice because it saves them money and it gets to the customer faster, hopefully resulting in a faster payment – although we know that does not always happen. In the accounts payable processing of invoices, emailed invoices now have a large role, since that is the way most invoices are sent. If the solution recommended is adopted there is the side benefit of accounts payable satisfaction, as it makes the accounts payable team's job a little bit easier. Add to this the resulting accounts payable contribution to the environment and it's a win for everyone. Eliminating this accounts payable headache makes for greater accounts payable efficiency and let's fact it, most accounts payable groups like to be able to save trees. This is episode 106 of the AP Now podcast,

Welcome back to the show everyone, on this episode we start off with a classic ghost story submission. A little girl sees a boy crying and says he just wants to go home. But no one else sees this little boy crying or even hears anything. Then we dive into a story that was sent our way. It was an email of an UFO and we were simply asked to talk about it. We had no information on it at all. So Steve hunts through the internet and finds a little about the photo we received. But that turns into more sightings and an abduction story from 1987 that has produced a possible picture of an alien. Thanks for listening stay safe and stay weird. I’m not sure if this is a 'quick' tip, but wanted to share an idea for a unique autograph book that also helps build lots of excitement for the trip with kids. The short version: my kids drew pictures of the characters and I had those drawings printed into a very adorable book. The detailed version: My daughter (age 5) heard from a friend about Art Hub for Kids on YouTube and she drew a few characters following those guides. My son (age 7) then did a few. Soon, they were making up their own versions of characters and we kept tucking the drawings into a folder. We then somehow decided that all 3 kids (my four year old daughter joined in the fun) would do drawings of as many characters as they could think of. We looked at which ones are often in the park and prioritized those. I then snapped photos of their drawings on my iPhone, and assembled them into a book using Blurb (you could also use Shutterfly or whatever you prefer). We left spaces to add photos and for characters to sign on pages next to drawings of characters we anticipated meeting (if we don’t meet them, we will just add trip pictures that work with it). This has been an incredibly fun project and they are SO proud of it, and working on it has also built so much excitement about the trip. For us, it will also make a really meaningful keepsake and a beautiful, personal coffee table book we can display after our vacation. Hopefully the characters will get a kick out of it, too!" Nearing the end of a long day in Animal Kingdom towards the end of our trip we found ourselves without an ADR for dinner. We were tiring of the standard Quick Service fare and not feeling like running across the park for something more unique. As we were near Yak and Yeti, we popped in hoping to snag a table without a reservation but were told it would have been a 30 minute wait. Instead, we ordered 2 adult entrees to-go for our family of 4, and after a short 10-minute wait for them to prepare our food, we walked out of the restaurant with our meal. The open seating of the Yak and Yeti Local market (Quick Service) was right next door and nearly empty, so we were easily able to snag a table and enjoy our meal. So my tip is to consider ordering carry out at times when you didn’t plan for an ADR. The cost of the two adult meals was similar to what we would have paid for 2 adult and 2 kid quick service meals and was plenty of food for us all. " Subscribe to get new episodes There are a few ways to get new episodes of WDW Prep To Go (if you're used to listening on the website, subscribe so you can take new episodes with you on your phone) Subscribe in iTunes (and please leave a review!) On our trips since, I take a few minutes a day, either during a break time or once my kids are asleep, to download the PhotoPass photos to my phone. If you’re like me and get a lot of photos taken, It’s so much more manageable to download them in smaller chucks, than wait until the end." I started using a saying with them: Magic band, magic hand! That is to say, whatever wrist their magic band was on, that was the hand they should use their pointer finger to scan at the turnstiles. We were lucky because they all had their bands on their right hands and used their right pointer finger, but I imagine using this phrase from the first day of our trip would have kept things flowing easier." As we've mentioned, we cancelled all our DMO insurance plans because the reimbursement rate was too low for us. So the terminations will be going into effect soon and we've been informing our patients through an automated campaign to allow them to click a button and update their records. It's a great way to make the process less manual. That's the good news... The bad news, is that our new patient rate has dropped pretty substantially since we dropped the plans. We feel it's the right thing to do - long term, because right now, we're working too hard for far too little money. But while we're still confident in our decision, it never feels good to see your new patient count drop. Our plan is to use our Dental Membership plan to drive growth. I had an idea to appeal to small businesses that might not have dental benefits for their employees. This would be an inexpensive way for the companies to provide a perk for their staff and give them access to discounts at a high-end dental practice. There are tons of shared working spaces all over the city that house thousands of companies. So I'm going to reach out to them to see how I could advertise or host an event to get these types of companies interested. "I have a Flight of Passage Quick Tip for guests without FastPasses. My husband was not able to join me at Animal Kingdom, so I decided to go by myself anyway. I did not have a FastPass for Flight of Passage, but it was a (relatively!) short 65 minute wait so I decided to go for it. After about 20 minutes of waiting, I reached the part of the line where the cast member asks you how many people are in your party. I said 'one' and much to my delight she guided me to the right-hand side of the queue which appeared to have a special single rider line next to the FastPass lines. All the other non-FastPass guests were guided to the left and they still had a significant wait ahead of them. There was one other guy ahead of me which meant I only had to wait about 5 more minutes, which cut the total wait time to about 25 minutes. So my quick tip is to say you're a single rider if you don't mind getting potentially separated from your touring buddy. The guy in front of me was in my same group, so it's possible you may not even be separated!" We were lucky enough to do the Dessert Party/Garden View, so when the show started she laid on the pillow on my lap and I wrapped it around her ears. That way she was comfy, secure, and the loud bangs were muffled. She had no problems, even with the villain scene toward the end. Second tip was that for the same show we brought the kids' pajamas with us that day and changed them into their PJs in the bathroom of the dessert party so when they fell asleep in their strollers on the walk out, we could just transfer them right to their beds when we got back to the room!" It made me think that I should share a tip on how we booked our room at the Swan for this trip. I was able to get a room there for $160/night using a Priceline Express Deal offer. This saved us $50 a night. For anyone unfamiliar with that, Priceline offers significantly discounted rates on hotels without showing you the name of the hotel you are booking. Hotwire does this, as well. It is a risk, but I did some research and figured out that Disney hotels will be those described as being in the “Walt Disney World - Bonnet Creek” area. The Swan is the only one that is 4.5 stars so I knew that was what I would be getting. I also figured out that Disney hotels appear in these deals and you’ll know because a free airport shuttle is listed as an amenity. No other hotels in the “Walt Disney World - Bonnet creek area” offer free airport shuttles. We really wanted to stay at the Yacht or Beach, but our trip was a last-minute idea for our anniversary and we needed to stay within a certain budget. This Priceline deal helped us do that while still getting something in the Boardwalk area near the Food & Wine Festival." I immediately turned around and apologized and took them off, because I didn't want them to be in her way, but I had totally forgot that I even had them on! The lady was embarrassed that I heard her complaining and apologized, but I was happy that I heard her because I didn't want my ears to get in her way. The rest of the trip, I realized how the wearing of Minnie ears could definitely get in the way of those behind you and I tried to remember to take them off whenever we were in theater-type seating. Be thoughtful and remove your mouse ears." 00:01 Show Intro 00:20 Cassie Parks Introduction 00:23 Interview with Mel Parrish 00:41 Mel Parrish’s superpower is that she is a risk taker and that is what makes her amazing. 1:27 Mel is a plus size model and blog about body positivity 1:50 Come from a conservative background, so sharing with the larger world in a non-private space was a huge deal 3:18 Manifest $10K junkie - taken the course 3 or 4 times; the last time she had a manifesting win from a booking that had a long time to come through 5:14 There are a lot of people who are worried what other people will think about Law of Attraction 6:58 Manifesting experience - LOA only a few months before I found your book but had been unknowingly been manifesting (career change from Naval Officer to Model) but not conscious before 8:34 Become. Claim that you want. 9:00 Mel is a “how” junkie, loves a strategy, plan, etc but has chosen use the tools Cassie teaches to slow down and let go like scripting, journaling and visualizing 9:49 Day 24 - Go back to this process all the time “howing” vs becoming. “I am going to stay in becoming and not go down in howing.” 10:50 Great modeling job and check was not showing up and in the place of “how” did I create this? Emailed and asked what doing wrong. Followed the process. Celebrated other people. 11:39 How does cheerleading reduce “howing” and increase becoming? Activate that part of you that gathers evidence and allows you to be your future self when you celebrate what others you are achieving 12:20 Prior money story “Hot Mess Train Wreck” 13:09 Once you put your money into a house 13:23 Cleaning up my act with money has been some left brain stuff like learning about money but the other part has been addressing my spiritual needs in a better way 13:45 Money Story Now: Expansion always and always. 14:32 Million Dollar Listing - see what other’s want and get it over and over again 15:04 Tap into other’s confidence 15:38 Seeing things in action allow you try to be that way or something similar too (a different way to learn the lesson) 16:28 Spiritual entertainment - consuming book after book but not putting it into action. 16:59 Understand, believe and go do it 17:21 I did not have the “becoming” beforehand. Took the steps to become 18:02 How do I become? Do things, can’t think it, can’t “how” it 18:50 Becoming has been a discovery process of how much of my future live I already live. 19:10 It is already here which helps you stop reaching 19:25 Nothing repels success like lack and desperation.19:35 It is like when you realize, “I have the enchiladas, I just need the cilantro and sour cream.” 21:11 How does what you know now, how does this help you go into audition|casting? Goodness in showing up but I did it from a place of lack. I now get to be selective and direct bookings 22:25 This is making me happier, saner and a well-cared for person 22:49 This also ties to entrepreneurs -  what do you really want and is it worth my time? 23:12 When you shift, space can be created which can feel uncomfortable. But I am scripting ease and spaciousness so that is what it feels like 24:05 How did you learn to fill that time? In some ways I just allow it and do the things I am doing way better and allowing myself to do less 25:16 Workshop I do would not allow if I hadn’t allowed room for that to bubble up, there wasn’t space for it 25:49 Free time - consciously create free space 26:17 Your vibing up activity might include watching a episode of friends and it might be 5 minutes 27:17 You can’t add more stuff into your life if it is already full. 28:30 Favorite thing about Manifest 10K? Love the structure and framework to fall back on but that allowed me to stop being so reliant on  structures and frameworks. 29:09 Reword: Knowing there a step-by-step process for manifesting and welcoming money and becoming the person you want to be more of makes it easier to let go of all those other structures you think you have to use to get to where you want to be 29:37 Any lane is open for you. 29:44 Advice? Be open to all the crazy ways what you want will show up 30:18 Find me at Instagram @MelParrishPlus and her blog http://melparrish.com 31:50 Show close 31:59 End

I'd love to hear from you, so please write again! From July of 2015 until February of 2016 the contact form had a technical glitch that prevented emails from coming through. That means that I missed hundreds of your communications. I'm sorry! We've fixed the problem now, so please try again. I'd enjoy communicating with you personally. I work very hard to respond to all of your emails so it's disheartening to me that many of you have sent me notes to which I never responded. Again, my apologies! Joshua
