In this unsettling episode of Horror Hill, host Erik Peabody presents a darkly decadent tale from Ambrose Ibsen—one that begins with ambition and appetite, and ends somewhere far more disturbing. When a struggling chef with dreams of greatness crosses paths with a seasoned mushroom hunter guarding his best-kept secrets, an unexpected discovery promises to change everything. Darkly atmospheric and disturbingly visceral, this episode explores temptation, ambition, and the terrifying cost of indulging in something you don't fully understand. Pull up a chair. "Why are you in the Epstein files?"It is a question Rushkoff received from his own daughter, and in this raw monologue, he gives the full answer. His name appears in the CC field of emails from his former literary agent alongside Bill Gates, Sergey Brin, and yes, Jeffrey Epstein. But the story of why those names were grouped together reveals something much darker than a mailing list.Rushkoff recounts a disturbing mid-90s dinner party where he was physically grabbed by a host and scolded for "wasting his plus-one" on a brilliant female intellectual instead of "eye candy" to decorate the room for the male elites. He traces the lineage of this misogyny directly to the "scientism" of figures like Richard Dawkins and Steven Pinker, whose theories of humans as "meat machines" and "survival vehicles for genes" provided the perfect philosophical cover for sociopaths like Epstein to commodify and abuse women. This is not just a story about a predator; it is an indictment of the "permission structure" built by the scientific and tech elite. A worldview that dismisses human soul, consent, and morality as mere delusions.Team Human is proudly sponsored by Everyone's Earth.Learn more about Everyone's Earth: https://everyonesearth.com/Change Diapers: https://changediapers.com/Cobi Dryer Sheets: https://cobidryersheets.com/Use the code “rush10” to receive 10% off of Cobi Dryer sheets: https://cobidryersheets.com/Support Team Human:Team Human is a listener-supported project. Did you see the "Trump Train" coming? Michael didn't — and neither did Barack Obama's inner circle. Drawing from newly released oral history interviews on the Obama presidency, Michael explores how top advisers like David Axelrod, Jen Psaki, and Jon Favreau underestimated Donald Trump's political rise. From the 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner roast to the escalator announcement in 2015, this episode revisits the moments many dismissed — and asks why so many got it wrong. Plus, SiriusXM's Steve Scully joins the conversation with a behind-the-scenes account of that infamous Correspondents' Dinner — including what was happening off-camera as Trump reacted in real time. What can we learn about death from the X-Men, small screaming rodents, and unwitting college students in psychology experiments? It turns out that the fear of death (or death anxiety) affects human behavior in all sorts of surprising and deeply troubling ways. Especially disconcerting is the way such fear entices people to cling to cultural beliefs so tightly that they will attack anything or anyone they perceive as a threat to their beliefs. And extra-super-duper disconcerting is how unaware most of us are that we are susceptible to such bad behavior when we're reminded that one day we'll die. Follow Jason, Rob, and Asher as they try not to deny climate change, vilify any out-groups, or assault one another while diving into the topic of death. In the Do-the-Opposite segment, Michael Hebb (author of Let's Talk about Death over Dinner) shares wisdom for developing a healthier relationship with death. Today we are talking about approaching one thing you do in a new way… that will positively benefit your life in lots of ways. It's the way you plan your meals.  It's the shift of thinking about food or meals when you start to feel hungry or when it's about time to eat… to thinking about meals ahead of time.. sometimes a few hours and other times a few days before.  It's actually EASIER than doing it last minute because you can plan for a few meals at once rather than each meal like a fire drill when its time to eat… it can be cheaper because you aren't having everything delivered and it's way healthier because we know home cooked meals if done right, are usually the best for you. We all know we're going to eat today.  We know roughly when we're going to eat today. So it doesn't make sense to deal with it at the last minute…. when you're starving, and stressed to get something going and often end up eating much later than you want to. This episode isn't about telling you what to eat.  Because of course, do what you want. It's a really helpful chat I think about how to think differently about eating so you stay aligned with your goals, your health, your energy… and honestly your peace of mind. ***The Problem Isn't Cravings… It's Lack of Planning*** Most people think they "fell off" because of willpower. But most of the time? It's not cravings.  It's not discipline. It's poor planning. You didn't think about lunch…  You didn't prep dinner…  You showed up somewhere starving… and suddenly you're stuck with whatever options exist. And then you feel frustrated… not because you wanted that food… but because you didn't plan ahead. When you change the way you think about meals… everything shifts. *** The Mindset Shift… Always Be Thinking One Meal Ahead*** Always be thinking about your next meal before you need it. Not obsessively… just intentionally. Ask yourself: • What am I eating next?  • Where will I be?  • Will there be options I actually want?  • Do I need to prep something or bring something? This one shift removes: last-minute stress  decision fatigue  random eating you regret  overspending on delivery You stop reacting… and start operating on purpose. ***My Personal Food Philosophy (Without Telling You How To Eat)*** For me personally, I eat very specifically because that's when I feel my best. Mostly single-ingredient foods…  Organic fruits and vegetables…  Grass-fed meats…  Organic eggs… raw cheese… rice… pasta… chicken… High protein, lower carbs… zero refined sugar… minimal processed ingredients. Kind of carnivore-ish with fruits, honey, berries, dates — foods that actually fuel me. But listen… this podcast is not about copying how I eat. You should eat in a way that makes you feel energized and aligned. The real takeaway is this: Whatever your style is… planning ahead protects it. ***Tactical Strategies That Make This Easy*** 1. Cook Once, Eat Twice  Dinner isn't just dinner… it's tomorrow's lunch.  Make extra on purpose.  Future you will be grateful when lunch is already solved. 2. Pre-Decide Your "Default Meals"  Have a short list of meals you rotate.  Less thinking… more consistency.  Decision fatigue disappears when meals become automatic. 3. Think About Your Schedule Like a Food Map  Look at your day and ask: Am I driving somewhere long?  Am I going somewhere with limited options?  Do I need snacks?  Should I eat before I go? Planning food is really just planning logistics. 4. Bring Food Without Making It Complicated  A cooler bag… simple containers… prepped proteins… fruit… dates…  Not fancy.  Just intentional. 5. Make Eating Out an Event — Not a Reaction  For me, eating out is something I enjoy intentionally.  Not something I fall into because I didn't think ahead. That small mindset shift changes your relationship with food entirely. ***The Hidden Benefits Nobody Talks About*** Planning meals ahead doesn't just change what you eat… It changes your whole day. You save time.  You save money.  You avoid DoorDash panic orders.  You reduce mental clutter.  You feel calmer because decisions are already made. And honestly… You feel proud of yourself because your actions match your goals. ***The Bigger Picture*** This isn't really about food. It's about living intentionally. When you plan your meals… you're saying: "I'm not leaving my health up to chance." You're not reacting to hunger… you're designing your life. And that energy spills into everything else: Your workouts.  Your focus.  Your confidence. Look at your day the night before!  Think about what meals you (and your family if you have one) will eat the next day.  It changes how it all goes!! This one shift might sound small… But it completely changes how you show up in your body and your life. And that's awesome!!

After 25 years and roughly 25 trips across the Atlantic — including one where he ran out of money and had to beg his parents from a London phone box and another that ended with a $1,200 phone bill — Jonathan Thomas has learned how to travel Britain without going broke. In this special bonus episode, he introduces the completely rewritten third edition of 101 Budget Britain Travel Tips, walks through what's new (including 30–40 tips that have never been in the book before), and reads 10 of his favorite tips covering everything from the mandatory new Electronic Travel Authorization to the airport drop-off fee that cost him £140, why you don't need an Oyster card anymore, and the supermarket meal deal hack that saves his family hundreds every trip. Whether you're planning your first visit or your twentieth, this is the episode to listen to before you book. Friends of Anglotopia Club — Anglotopia membership for early podcast access and exclusive content Previous Anglotopia Podcast Episode on the UK ETA Takeaways This is a complete rewrite, not just an update. The 3rd edition has 30–40 brand new tips never in the book before, the free attractions lists have been consolidated into a master appendix by country, and the book is roughly twice as thick as the previous edition. The UK's Electronic Travel Authorization is now mandatory. As of February 24, 2026, it is being strictly enforced. If you don't have one, you're not boarding the plane. Use the official UK government app — it costs £16. Anyone charging more is a third-party service skimming money. Airport drop-off fees can sting you badly. Jonathan got hit with a £140 total charge (£100 penalty + £40 rental car processing fee) for forgetting to pay the Heathrow drop-off fee within 24 hours. The cameras scan your license plate and the bill goes to the rental car company. You don't need an Oyster card anymore. Contactless credit/debit cards now work on London's entire transport network with the same daily fare caps. Just tap in and tap out — it settles up at the end of the day at no more than about £7–8. Book trains up to 12 weeks out to save money. A same-day journey can cost 4–5 times more than one booked a month or two in advance. Jonathan recommends open tickets for flexibility since trains are frequently late or cancelled. Never pay in US dollars at a British cash register. Dynamic currency conversion is a legal scam — the merchant's bank sets the exchange rate and skims money. Always pay in pounds and let your credit card convert at the interbank rate. Supermarket meal deals are one of Europe's best budget secrets. Lunch deals (sandwich + drink + snack) run £3–4. Dinner deals for two with a main, side, dessert, and wine cost £10–15. Jonathan's family hits the grocery store as one of their first stops every trip. Join Royal Oak, English Heritage, and Historic Houses before your trip. A Royal Oak Foundation membership (under $100/year) gets you free entry to all National Trust properties. English Heritage has an overseas visitor pass. Historic Houses membership covers ~300–400 privately owned stately homes including Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey). Premier Inn is the budget traveler's best friend. Consistent quality, breakfast included, advance rates from £35/night. Not glamorous, but reliable and spread across hundreds of locations near major cities and attractions. Budget travel isn't about suffering — it's about spending smart. The book's philosophy is to save money on the things that don't matter (airport snacks, dynamic currency conversion, overpriced afternoon tea) so you can spend more on the things that do (comfortable lodging, rental cars, experiences, souvenirs). Soundbites "We came home and got our phone bill the next month — we had a $1,200 phone bill from all of our adventures in Britain. And we didn't know. This is 2008, 2009 — we just didn't know." — Jonathan on the expensive lessons that inspired the book. "Budget travel isn't about suffering. It's about spending money on the things that matter and refusing to waste money on the elements of your trip that you don't need to." — Jonathan on the book's core philosophy. "A family of four could easily spend $10,000 on a one to two week trip to Britain without even trying. Our philosophy with this book is that it doesn't have to cost that much." — Jonathan on why the book exists. "There's a new rule for visiting Britain and many Americans still don't know about it. If you don't have the ETA and you show up at the airport, you're not going." — Jonathan on the mandatory Electronic Travel Authorization. "Anyone charging you a fee more than 16 pounds to do this is ripping you off. You do this yourself. Use the official app." — Jonathan on avoiding third-party ETA services. "Making it easier to drop my wife off with the bags at the terminal cost us 140 pounds. We were not amused." — Jonathan on his personal airport drop-off fee disaster. "You don't need to buy the Oyster card in advance. You don't need to buy it when you get there. Just use your credit card as long as you have tap on it." — Jonathan on contactless fare caps replacing the Oyster card. "Do not pay in US dollars. Never pay in US dollars. You're overpaying. Pay in pounds." — Jonathan on the dynamic currency conversion scam. "We did the Fortnum & Mason high tea and it was 85 pounds per person, which is absurd. You can get an afternoon tea for half that or a third of that in many other places." — Jonathan on saving money on afternoon tea. "I had to make a panicked phone call to my parents from a London phone box begging for them to deposit my paycheck early so that we could have money to finish our trip." — Jonathan on running out of money as a 21-year-old traveler. In his new book Choreplay, author Jordan Carlos calls himself out for some of his shortcomings as a husband, but also explores ways he can and does show up for his wife. Grant and Brooke reveal their own thoughts about how they measure up as spouses, and also consider memoirs like these that are explorations of how we can do better—as humans, as partners, as parents, and in all the ways we show up in the world. Jordan Carlos is a comedian, thank God, because he's able to take this seemingly fraught topic and make it funny and fun. Enjoy!Jordan Carlos is a stand up comedian and actor based in New York. This week, Andrew got a great question from a newer attendee who grew up Episcopalian and wanted to understand the difference between what they were used to and what they're hearing now. So we talk preaching styles, liturgy, structure, and why some sermons feel like a written prayer while others feel like a guided tour through the text with a few side roads along the way.Tim is deep in the middle of a vision campaign, which currently means he is eating three meals a day with church members. After three sermons and a new members class yesterday, he logged 240 minutes of speaking time. That is four straight hours, for those keeping score at home. Hydration is now a spiritual discipline.Frank hosted a launch team meeting and start-up party for Cross & Crown, and momentum is building in all the right ways. And to top it all off, our friend Adam Powers is in the house, which means the conversation is lively, the takes are strong, and someone probably says something they shouldn't.It's another week of preaching, planting, casting vision, and trying to find our voices by Monday morning.

In the past couple of generations, there's been a lot of talk about finding one's passion. Many people find themselves dissatisfied with their work because it doesn't feel passionate enough. This begs the question, should our choice of vocation be fueled by practicality, passion, or calling? What even is a calling? And do we all have one? In today's conversation, we'll endeavor to define the differences between what lights a person up and what provides a deeper service. She is also one of my favorite humans and I'm lucky I get to call her a friend. She grew up in São Paulo, moved to Geneva at 10, attended an international school with 118 nationalities, and knew she wanted to produce after watching the Irving Thalberg Award presented at 3 a.m. on an Oscar broadcast. She studied film and international relations at USC, produced documentaries for the United Nations in Geneva, and returned to the U.S. to earn her MFA in producing at AFI, where her thesis film The Response won a Student BAFTA. Marina's credits span indie and studio, including Miguel Arteta's Beatriz at Dinner starring Salma Hayek, the Sundance Grand Jury Prize–winning Clemency starring Alfre Woodard, Harrison Ford's The Call of the Wild (as VFX supervisor), Searchlight's Hold Your Breath starring Sarah Paulson, The People We Hate at the Wedding, and the pandemic-shot Untitled Horror Movie alongside fellow producer Bronwyn Cornelius. Most recently, she produced Josephine — written and directed by Beth de Araújo and starring Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan — which won both the U.S. Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival before being acquired by Sumerian Pictures in a competitive seven-figure deal. The film went on to screen in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival. In this conversation, we explore how culture impacts your craft, define once and for all what line producers really do, why the best career moves sometimes look like steps backward, and whether Los Angeles is still a special place to make movies. Hey friend,  Have your “go-to” healthy meals started feeling boring or heavy? Do you feel tired of rotating the same dinners, even though they used to work? Could your default meals be out of sync with the current weather? If your go-to healthy dinners suddenly feel boring, heavy, or harder than they should, you're not doing anything wrong. In a neurodivergent or neurodiverse home, repetition can be helpful — until it isn't. And when you're tired all the time or navigating low energy, even healthy habits that once felt simple can start feeling like work. In this episode, I explain why healthy dinners naturally stop working at certain points in the year — and how building two simple seasonal meal lists (spring/summer and fall/winter) supports healthy living without creating more stress. Instead of constantly searching for new recipes or overhauling your pantry, I'll walk you through how to rotate your go-to meals seasonally so they align with the weather, your energy, and your family's rhythm — especially in a neurodivergent household where predictability and flexibility both matter. You'll learn: • Why healthy dinners start feeling stale • How many meals you actually need per season to support sustainable healthy habits • How to build seasonal meal lists over time (without pressure) • How to realign your pantry to support healthy living without starting over I'm Ashley — a mom living with chronic illness in a neurodiverse family. If you're dealing with constant fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, and broken sleep while trying to keep up with your kids, you're not alone. This podcast is for chronic illness moms raising neurodivergent kids who want stress relief, better sleep, and simple, realistic habits to finally feel better in their bodies. Each episode shares nervous-system-friendly support to help you calm overwhelm, boost energy, and practice healthy habits that improve your symptoms — even in the middle of a full, demanding life. Beyond The Horizon
Jeffrey Epstein, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos And The Billionaires Dinner They Want To Forget (Part 2)

Elon Musk has been loudly criticizing the DOJ and FBI over their handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, calling out what he sees as a disgraceful failure to hold powerful figures accountable. He presents himself as an outsider raging against the elite, demanding justice and transparency from the very institutions he claims are protecting predators. But there's a glaring contradiction that undercuts this entire performance: Musk himself once sat down at the same table as Jeffrey Epstein. At a private billionaire's dinner, years after Epstein's 2008 conviction was public knowledge, Musk broke bread with a man already known to be a convicted sex offender—making his current outrage feel more like calculated damage control than genuine moral concern. The hypocrisy is almost unbearable. You don't get to dine with a monster, stay silent for over a decade, and then pretend to be the loudest voice in the room demanding accountability. Musk's selective outrage reeks of self-preservation, not justice. He wasn't just in the same room—he was a participant in the same closed-door culture of wealth, access, and impunity that allowed Epstein to thrive. And now, as public pressure mounts, he wants to rewrite the past, cast himself as a truth-teller, and hope no one remembers where he was when it mattered. But history has receipts—and the dinner napkin still has his name on it.Elon Musk isn't the only one feigning moral outrage about Jeffrey Epstein while conveniently forgetting the dinner table they once shared. In 2011, at a private billionaires' dinner during a TED conference, Musk, Jeff Bezos, Sergey Brin, and other tech titans sat shoulder to shoulder with Epstein—a man already convicted of soliciting sex from a minor. These weren't ignorant bystanders. Epstein's name was radioactive by then, his crimes well documented. Yet these men, who now pretend to be disgusted by the cover-up, saw no issue sharing wine and strategy with him over filet mignon and handshakes. It was a who's who of unchecked power pretending Epstein was just another quirky financier with connections.Fast-forward to now, and the same billionaires want to position themselves as the public's moral compass—demanding justice, accountability, and answers from the government while playing dumb about their own proximity to the rot. Musk rails against the DOJ, Bezos hides behind silence, and the rest of them act like their invitations got lost in the mail. But this wasn't some accident. They sat there. They talked. They mingled. And they helped normalize a predator. These men didn't just witness the corruption—they were part of the network that allowed it to keep operating in plain sight. Now they want to shout from the rooftops as if they weren't once whispering in the same room. That's not courage. Major federal investments and national guidance can shape the future of public health, but only if states can turn policy into practice. This episode looks at two sweeping developments and the on-the-groundwork required to make them matter. First, Chris Salyers, Director of Programs and Evaluation at the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health explains the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), a $50 billion, five-year investment aimed at strengthening rural communities. With no clear blueprint for moving funds at this scale, states are in the early stages of building advisory groups, navigating procurement and contracting rules, and working to ensure dollars actually reach rural providers and organizations, not just large outside entities. Salyers highlights the importance of stakeholder engagement, peer learning, and using this planning window to build systems that allow smaller, capacity-strapped rural groups to compete for funding.  Then, Shannon Vance, Director, Family and Child Health at ASTHO, breaks down the newly released 2025–2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and their wide-ranging implications. With chronic disease driving nearly 90% of U.S. healthcare spending, the updated guidance, including stronger limits on added sugars, greater emphasis on protein and full-fat dairy, and life-stage–specific recommendations, could reshape everything from individual eating habits to major federal nutrition programs. Vance explores the ripple effects for SNAP, WIC, and school meals, where agencies are already juggling recent rule changes, tight budgets, and supply challenges.Leadership Power Hour: Your Launchpad for Impact | ASTHOThe 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines: Understanding the New Pyramid | ASTHOFunding & Collaboration Opportunities | ASTHOASTHO (@ASTHO) / XAssociation of State and Territorial Health Officials (@asthonews.bsky.social) — Bluesky(1) Instagram(1) LinkedInFacebook
