Step into Episode 179 of On the Delo as David DeLorenzo sits down with chef-restaurateur Doug Robson—Mexico City–born, Arizona-made—for a straight-shooting conversation about immigration, grit, and building neighborhood restaurants that people actually return to three and four times a week. From a 1983 move to San Antonio to Scottsdale Culinary Institute (1996), the Phoenician and Roaring Fork, through the LGO crucible and beyond, Doug lays out the mindset shifts that turned ego into collaboration and fine-dining polish into community comfort. You'll hear the real story: $7.35/hour kitchen days, 9/11's night-of impact on reservations, opening Gallo Blanco in 2009 on just $65K, closing “Gallo 1.0,” launching Otro Café in 2013, then expanding his canvas with Tesota—all while learning to delegate, welcome failure as tuition, and reset in Greer with long hikes that spark new recipes.Chapter Guide (Timestamps): (0:14 – 1:12) Cold Open & Episode 179 intro; Lake Powell guitars and banter. "We were created to thrive, not just to survive." - Kris Hapgood Kris Hapgood is a registered nurse (RN) with over 32 years of experience in the medical field. Her passion centers on empowering individuals to trust in their body's natural ability to heal. Kris specializes in the application of non-invasive wellness tools, with a specific focus on stem cell activation, facilitating overall well-being. Her profound approach to health emphasizes holistic methods, backed by her extensive expertise in nursing. Her mantra reflects her mission: "Care for one; that's love. Care for hundreds; that's nursing. Teach hundreds to care for themselves. That's a revolution." Episode Summary: In this insightful episode of "Oh, My Health… There Is Hope!" host Jana Short dives into an enlightening conversation with Kris Hapgood, a seasoned registered nurse (RN) with a unique approach to healing. Kris shares her journey from traditional nursing into the realm of holistic medicine, recounting how a simple blue cream with essential oils transformed her perspective on health and medicine. Her transition to natural remedies has fueled her mission to help individuals activate their body's repair mechanisms through stem cell activation and other non-invasive wellness tools. Kris Hapgood provides an in-depth discussion on the importance of understanding stem cell activation and how it plays a crucial role in the body's natural healing process. She shares compelling evidence on how lifestyle choices can dramatically affect the aging process and highlights exciting advances in non-transdermal patches that aid in stem cell activation. This episode is rich with valuable insights into alternative health solutions and encourages listeners to take proactive steps in their health journey for a more vibrant and thriving life. Key Takeaways: The body is naturally designed to heal given the right environment and support with non-invasive wellness tools and stem cell activation. A significant portion of stem cells go dormant by age 30, and even more by age 60, contributing to the aging process and decline in health. Natural remedies, such as essential oils and non-transdermal patches, are increasingly being recognized as effective in aiding the body's self-healing processes. Proactive and informed lifestyle choices can greatly extend the quality of life and reverse some aspects of aging. The importance of supportive healthcare teams and personalized treatment plans in conjunction with natural healing methods is essential for optimal health. Is it possible to find peace and meaning in a world shaped by both chaos and order, certainty and mystery, suffering and joy? In this powerful conversation, Dr. Catherine Toon and guest Bill Thrasher dive deep into the sacred paradoxes woven throughout creation, scripture, and the human experience. From Newtonian laws to the mysteries of quantum physics, from the Tree of Life to the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they explore how divine tension points us to truth—and how every paradox finds its pivot and purpose in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. This episode explores: * The balance between predictability and divine mystery * How chaos and order coexist in God’s redemptive plan * Navigating the tension between control and surrender * Why true rest is found not in certainty, but in union with Christ * How the cross reframes suffering, mystery, and peace Perfect for those deconstructing rigid beliefs or reconstructing a vibrant, Spirit-filled worldview, this conversation invites you to embrace paradox as a portal into deeper intimacy with God. Why is it that so many high-achieving men—men who value discipline, morality, and service—secretly struggle with porn addiction? On the surface, it doesn't make sense. How can a man who leads, provides, and sacrifices also be the same man sneaking away to watch porn in the dark?In this episode, I uncover the paradox of the high-achiever and porn addiction. I'll show you why high-achieving men are especially vulnerable to pornography, how emotional intensity fuels cravings, and why perfectionism can become both your greatest strength and your greatest weakness. You'll learn:The neuroscience behind why emotional intensity and dopamine cravings drive porn use.How the perfectionism trap creates all-or-nothing thinking, shame, and the painful double life. Why your high standards and drive for excellence aren't the problem—and how to reframe perfectionism with compassion.Practical strategies to channel your intensity into recovery: structure, healthy outlets, and self-compassion.The benefits of integration—how to find real freedom, deeper relationships, greater productivity, and inner peace without porn. This isn't about fighting yourself or lowering your standards. It's about learning how to respect your intense, perfectionistic mind and lead it wisely. When you do, your emotional intensity stops fueling cravings and starts fueling lasting recovery. If you've ever wondered, “Why do I, as a high-achieving man, struggle with porn?”—this episode is for you.

Gravity, pressure, and shape govern what you see.
