Not to be confused with SEVEN SAMURAI, SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, SE7EN, or SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, it's SEVEN SNIPERS (2:53), a movie Dave proclaims is not a movie. It's a scenario. And sort of a good one. Just with some of the shittiest execution you've ever seen. First, there's Radha Mitchell as a retired sniper raising her soon-to-be 16-year-old daughter on an isloated farm in Australia. Okay, no problems there. Second, there's word that a nasty AF sniper by played Tim Roth is coming for Mitchell in order to kill her and probably do something else that will be completely obvious to anyone who has ever watched a movie. (Tim Roth as an elite sniper? As fine an actor as Roth is, he is neither Evan nor Dave's first choice to portray a killing machine. But whatever. Moving on.) Third, Mitchell calls in a favor, and one of her old military chums brings himself and four other elite snipers to guard the farm. It begs the question: How much money does elite fomer sniper Mitchell have? Fourth, ALL THESE ELITE SNIPERS STAND IN FRONT OF OPEN WINDOWS IN BROAD DAYLIGHT FOR THE ENTIRE RUNNING TIME. Fifth, enough. Just listen to us tear this thing apart. Over on Patreon, we watch Chris Pine's directorial debute POOLMAN.

Matt and Jordan review Prime Video’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, a straight-to-streaming title they are branding "movie Toferky." For Rec Seg, the duo finds comfort in the Paramount Plus vaults, with Jordan revisiting the Tom Clancy masterpiece that started it all, and Matt countering with a series sequel featuring Harrison Ford's bookworm Boy Scout desk-jockey. Then, a personalized recommendation request from listener Patrick sparks a highly volatile intra-pod war. While Jordan goes with a ‘70s screwball classic, Matt goes full "Muppet Radical" with his recommendation for a late-period Muppet movie over the Jim Henson-produced originals. Finally, Producer Sam hosts a trivia game called The Sum of All Jack Ryans, which ignites a flurry of deep pulls, culminating with a classic Jordan anecdote featuring Star Trek's Gates McFadden desperately trying to escape a cruise ship at the outbreak of the pandemic. In this 3rd recording of Off the Record in 2026, Rastislav, Stewart and Ken bring some new films into the picture. In our feature Rastislav compares two films about evil. I Saw the Devil from 2010, and Blue Velvet from 1986 represent stark opposites in how evil can be portrayed. I Saw the Devil being a Korean film directed by Kim Jee-woon and Blue Velvet by David Lynch. Both are well liked and are highly praised. One is more of a dark and psychological evil, while the other is a chaotic type. Stars include Kyle MacLachlan and Isabella Rossellini. The Korean film has Lee Byung-hun and Choi Min-sik as their main characters. Rasto gives us his impression of both films.Stewart's Greater pick Dangerous animals from 2025 directed by Sean Byrne — starring Hassie Harrison and Jai Courtney. The Dangerous animal in question are blood thirsty sharks off the gold coast, but the antagonist has a dark secret to be revealed to his would be captors. The film takes us slightly into the psyche of a serial killer, but remains true to the genre of a survivalist film.Ken gives us a run-down of his man vs machine pick, Unstoppable from 2010. Directed by Tony Scott and featuring Denzel Washington with Chris Pine. The film is about a run-away train carrying dangerous chemicals and the efforts made to get the train under control. Based on real life events while still filled with action and suspense. This was Tony Scott's last film unfortunately before he passed on. Ken gave it a fair assessment. The Lesser pick by Stewart had an interesting premise, but fell way short in the delivery department. American Sweatshop from 2025 directed by Uta Briesewitz and starring Lili Reinhart attempts to give us an inside look into the lives of social media content moderators. The film is set in modern day Florida and the main character becomes obsessed with one of the recordings she saw while moderating. She hopes to get justice for the possible victim in the video. And finally Ken recounted his experience with the 2016 sci-fi pick Colossal directed by Nacho Vigalondo and Anne Hathaway as the lead actor. Unfortunately there was a bit of a bait and switch as the film had a darker edge than Ken expected, rather than the whimsical sci-fi comedy he was expecting. And one final note from Stewart is the disappointing 2026 series finale of Good Omens that left a bad taste for Stewart and seemingly the fans. This is a public episode. "James Bond" is the longest-running and most successful spy film series, with 25 movies released by Eon Productions since 1962. "Mission: Impossible" doesn't have quite as many films with eight to date, but you also have the long-running 1960s television show. The latest challenger to the genre hasn't been around quite as long, but the series of "Jack Ryan" films, taken from or inspired by Tom Clancy's novels, has been going strong since Alec Baldwin starred in 1990's "The Hunt for Red October." After four more movies starring Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine in the role of Jack Ryan, John Krasinski reprised the role for the streaming series on Amazon Prime Video. Now, Krasinski is bringing his Jack Ryan to theaters with "Jack Ryan: Ghost War." In this episode, co-host Bruce Miller speaks with director Andrew Bernstein, co-star Michael Kelly and stars, writer and producer Krasinski, as well as co-star Sienna Miller. One sequel to rule them all, little onions. This week, we're unpacking one of Ross's cherished faves, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. In a welcomed change of pace from last episode's Spy Kids debacle, the siblings are falling in love all over again with Gary Marshall's adorable expansion on Meg Cabot's characters. There's laughter, there's intrigue, there's Chris Pine. Ross geeks out on the level of detail given to Genovian culture in the film. Carie unironically weeps more than once somehow. And the siblings once again embroil themselves in a film theory that the queen, her bodyguard, and her secretary are in a love triangle.  SUPPORT US ON PATREON!

Forget the runaway train thrillingly shot in Buster Keaton's 1926 film “The General,” and never mind the charging locomotive rescued by actors Denzel Washington and Chris Pine in the 2010 film “Unstoppable,” as there's a far more frequent (and far less heart-pounding) railcar drama happening across California's Bay Area: The repeated breakdown of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system, all because of a few networking errors.Opened in 1972, BART today carries about 175,000 people every weekday on five separate lines to 50 different stations placed across dozens of cities in the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Daly City, Fremont, Richmond, and more. Its tracks and railcars travel both above ground and below, and it is one of the only public transit systems in the US that goes underwater—traveling through what is called the TransBay tube. It is likely the region's largest public project, spanning 131 miles of track, with a fleet of more than 700 cars, proving vital to workers and residents everywhere, and on May 9, 2025, it all came grinding to a halt, due to what BART officials called a “computer networking problem.”At the Glen Park station in San Francisco, would-be travelers found yellow caution tape at the entry gates. At the El Cerrito Plaza station, BART staff and police informed visitors that the system was down. And at the Rockridge station in Oakland, a reporter for The San Francisco Chronicle witnessed a small group of people sprinting up the stairs to try and catch a train that never came.It was the kind of meltdown for public infrastructure that puts an entire system in peril. And it happened again just months later. In September, a network crash brought BART to a halt, repeating almost the exact same frustrations and delays for travelers left without transportation to work. That's the end of it, right? Wrong. In February 2026, another computer failure caused another outage. So, in one of the wealthiest regions in America, the subway doesn't always run, its network is prone to crash, and any money for technology often goes elsewhere. Today, on the Lock and Code podcast with host David Ruiz, we speak with San Francisco Chronicle transportation report Rachel Swan about what the BART outages revealed about the state of the system's aging technology, why public infrastructure so often struggles to modernize, and what exactly went wrong in the three prior outages.“One piece of equipment—and again, this is old equipment—one piece breaks down and they completely lose visibility, so they don't know where any of the trains are.”Tune in today. You can also find us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and whatever preferred podcast platform you use.For all our cybersecurity coverage, visit Malwarebytes Labs at malwarebytes.com/blog.Show notes and credits:Intro Music: “Spellbound” by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Outro Music: “Good God” by Wowa (unminus.com)Listen up—Malwarebytes doesn't just talk cybersecurity, we provide it.Protect yourself from online attacks that threaten your identity, your files, your system, and your financial well-being with our exclusive offer for Malwarebytes Premium for Lock and Code listeners.

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesSinners mastermind Ryan Coogler confirmed that Black Panther 3 is the next film he's working on during Contenders Film: Los Angeles last week, an event put on by Deadline. This is exciting news for us MCU fans, as work on the third Black Panther film has been mostly quiet other than Denzel Washington's confirmed slip up that he is in the movie.A new Star Trek movie is being created under the writing and direction of John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the duo behind Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Game Night as well as the recently wrapped Apple film Mayday, starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh. With the last feature film being Star Trek Beyond in 2016, there's been little movement on both the Chris Pine-led series and new takes on the universe, but this new film will move forward unconnected to anything done previously.Glen Powell in The Running Man was a favored first place winner at the box office this weekend, but was ousted by the sleight of hand of Now You See Me: Now You Don't, the third movie in that franchise. Now You See Me racked up a global $75 million opening, while The Running Man limped across the finish line at $28 million. This marks Powell's first big box office miss, when compared to openings for Twisters, Top Gun: Maverick, and Anybody But You, but the action film did have to compete against Predator: Badlands, which is holding strong at the box office still.Nintendo and Illumination have released the first trailer for Super Mario Galaxy, the follow up to 2023's hit The Super Mario Brothers Movie. The film will hit theaters on April 3rd, 2026. The show, which is titled Death Stranding Isolations is expected to debut sometime in 2027.Peacock has decided not to renew Poker Face for a third season. Welcome back to the Captain's Quadrant, where warp speed opinions meet photon torpedo-level takes! Today, Jason Roy Gaston and VHS Jase beam into the Kelvin timeline to dissect the third installment of the rebooted Star Trek franchise: Star Trek Beyond. If you enjoy the show please consider becoming a Patreon! Returning VHS JaseStar Trek Beyond boldly goes where Into Darkness stumbled. With Justin Lin at the helm and Simon Pegg co-writing, this entry trades convoluted villain reveals for classic Trek vibes: exploration, camaraderie, and a dash of philosophical musing. The Enterprise crew is stranded, the stakes are personal, and the villain Krall (Idris Elba) brings a gritty menace that feels earned.Chris Pine channels a more seasoned Kirk, balancing swagger with introspection.Zachary Quinto's Spock is emotionally layered, especially in scenes with Karl Urban's McCoy—who absolutely steals the show.Sofia Boutella's Jaylah is a breakout star, giving the franchise a fresh, fierce energy.Jason Roy Gaston notes: “This is the most ‘Star Trek' of the Kelvin movies—it's not trying to be Star Wars, it's trying to be Starfleet.”VHS Jase adds: “Jaylah is the MVP. She's got the attitude of a rogue and the heart of a Federation officer.”Lin's action chops shine in kinetic sequences, but it's the quieter moments—like Kirk's reflection on his father's legacy—that give this film warp core depth. The visuals are stunning, the score (with a killer Beastie Boys callback) pumps adrenaline, and the pacing never drags.Absolutely. Beyond feels like a love letter to The Original Series while still pushing the Kelvin timeline forward. It's not perfect—Krall's backstory could use more polish—but it's a thrilling, heartfelt ride.

Megyn Kelly is joined by Jordan Peterson, co-founder of Peterson Academy and author of "We Who Wrestle with God," to discuss the insane leftist policies that drove men and boys away from the Democratic party, how they're still missing the point even after Trump's landslide win, how it is "too little too late" for schools and universities to salvage their reputation, the decline of the Ivy League status, how young people are the more politically divided by gender than ever before, how Dems don't understand why there's this split and still think everything is about abortion, Andrew Tate's “pathological masculinity" and the wrong messenger to men and boys, why Dems are misguided about what makes Trump popular, what Olivia Wilde got wrong about him in the character based on him in “Don't Worry Darling,” what Peterson learned about Chris Pine after the movie came out, how Disney dropped the ball on Snow White, challenges young women face in the dating world, the issue with the mentality of “settling,” and more.More from Peterson: https://petersonacademy.com/Herald Group: Learn more at https://GuardYourCard.com  Done with Debt: https://www.DoneWithDebt.com  & tell them Megyn sent you!FYSI: https://FYSI.com/Megyn  or call 800-877-4000 Follow The Megyn Kelly Show on all social platforms:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/MegynKellyTwitter: http://Twitter.com/MegynKellyShowInstagram: http://Instagram.com/MegynKellyShowFacebook: http://Facebook.com/MegynKellyShow Find out more information at: https://www.devilmaycaremedia.com/megynkellyshow
