Duprat, Entrepreneur, Healthcare Practitioner, and Host of the Healthcare Entrepreneur Academy podcast, talks about the progression of an entrepreneur and how to position yourself to continue down the path of success. For entrepreneurs to scale up their businesses, they have to learn how to gain leverage, understand leverage, and utilize it to their benefit.    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS Jason watched a YouTube video and learned that to grow, you need to learn how to utilize leverage.  Leverage has four components: labor, capital, digital media, and code. Labor - you have to ask and motivate employees. Collaboration with a team is necessary to create a product or service and ensure successful delivery to customers.   Capital - a business cannot run without capital. Use capital to leverage marketing and have your system down pat by knowing how much to invest and what the ROI is.  Digital media - you don't have to pay a cost to replicate content and this includes licensing.  Code - code can do the work of labor with fewer mistakes, fewer costs, and less downtime.  Think of this as a pyramid. Labor is at the bottom. Move out of the position of making money for someone else and make money for yourself. Start your progression by stepping out of the W-2 job and becoming a 1099.  Next in the progression is to become a business owner. Leverage team skills and time.  After this, start to create content and focus on digital content.  At the top of the pyramid, you're already leveraging content and media and it's onto code. Jason is at this level right now. Jason watched another YouTube video and shared two key takeaways.  One, if your business is earning 0 to $1 million, focus on selling one core product to a single ideal customer. Get good at what you do.  Once you reach $1 million, you can scale your market. Determine ways to offer lifetime value to your customer. Listen to current customers and offer products/services during their journey. Upsell! Jason is learning from successful billionaires and by investing in his education. He spent $47k last year on courses, masterminds, books, etc.  The game is real. Invest in your education. Shortcut your path to success and financial freedom. 3 KEY POINTS Learn, understand, and utilize leverage to your advantage. Becoming a 1099 makes you learn more business skills compared to being a W2 employee. OVERVIEW:  Jason A. Duprat, Entrepreneur, Healthcare Practitioner and Host of the Healthcare Entrepreneur Academy podcast talks about his software stack for generating 1.7M in online sales. Join Jason as he goes through his early experiences in the online course business, how he learned from his mistakes and integrated different softwares in order to increase efficiency and quality.   EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS: Jason recalls creating Nurse Academy, his first online course to help nursing entrance exam takers. He shares the lessons he learned when he hired a coder to build the hosting platform from scratch.  Based on this experience, Jason now recommends hosting platforms so you don’t have to build one from scratch.  For hosting, he uses Thinkific and also recommends Kajabi. Both help with the backend work and manage technical aspects for dropping in content, video and quizzes.  Jason uses ClickFunnels for marketing and creating landing pages for  online courses, which allows viewers to convert from nonbuyer to buyer.  Next, Jason highlights the value of email automation softwares like Infusionsoft, Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign, which he uses. Email automation allows students to become acquainted with your company via email sequences, which can be scheduled in advance. For online payment software, Jason suggests Stripe to process credit cards or bank cards.  Jason uses Typeform to build applications and online questionnaires that are user-friendly, easy to access and easy to export.    Calendly is a lifesaver for scheduling calls and Jason’s podcast interviews and it links to Google calendars, as well.    Next, Jason recommends WebinarJam for hosting masterclasses for training programs. Jason offers his first lesson free as a value add, with an option to enroll in the course after the first lesson.  For coaching calls, team meetings and actually conducting his podcast interviews, Jason uses Zoom.   To connect one software to another, Zapier is the best software to use.  Overall, when it comes to selecting software for your stack, think of it as tools in your toolbox. Everyone has a favorite and you should customize to best meet your needs.    3 KEY POINTS: Learn from your mistakes and use software in order to make your life and business easier. You have to develop the required skills to properly use some software as tools in order to sell and market your online courses.  There is no one tool that automatically results in the increase of your online course sales. OVERVIEW: Erik Smith talks about people who quit on their health, fitness and financial journeys right before a successful breakthrough in their lives.    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS: This episode was inspired by a story in Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill where a gentlemen decide to dig for gold and told his family and bought equipment and found some gold but did not find the millions he had hoped for. He decided to quit and sold the equipment to someone who got help from experts and found all the gold literally 3 Feet from where the person quit.  While many focus on that fact he quit while the few finish the story of how he learned from that failure and made the decision to never quit again when he set out to accomplish his goals and became a very successful life insurance salesman selling millions of dollars per year in insurance. He decided that no matter the obstacle he would push through.  We can apply this to areas of our lives when we do not see results right away whether it is based on our fitness or financial journey but as long as we continue we will reach success.  3 KEY POINTS: Learn from our mistakes/failures so we do not repeat them and can become successful. CFTROU 0039: Helping the Lone Ranger Today we welcome Pastor Wadson Vasconcelos who currently pastors Family Church Portuguese. He started out his journey with Jesus as a lone ranger – a lone ranger with a passion for the gospel and Portuguese-speaking people. While still holding down a full-time job, Wadson began hosting Portuguese Bible studies in his home. The numbers kept growing and growing and soon he realized that his “hobby” was actually a calling from God. A friend introduced Wadson to other pastors at Family Church who came alongside Wadson. He joined the Family Church Residency Program, grew his Bible study into a Seed Church, and then launched as Family Church Portuguese in February 2018. It’s a fascinating journey from lone ranger to Family Church pastor with encouragement to anyone who finds himself on either side of that equation. Today’s guest is Emily Bennington Emily was fortunate to have a boss who became a mentor She learned so much from her as a mentor that they wrote the book, Effective Immediately They toured college campuses to talk about transitioning from school to career When Emily started dealing with management, she noticed people would come to her for help Life problems were always present in every person asking for help so Emily would bring in the spiritual aspect as part of her advice She wrote Miracles at Work: Turning Inner Guidance into Outer Influence Her book is about how we dismantle our thought system based on fear and on love Looking at another person and seeing through your differences unfolds the harmonious connections that you have Take your biases out to make your life more peaceful An Internal Miracle is the shift in perception in love A miracle is expression of love to you Giovanna used to compartmentalize spirituality to the point that she felt unfulfilled Like Giovanna, Emily was in the “God Closet” Mindfulness alone is secular Emily felt she was inauthentic teaching spiritual tools when she calls it secular mindfulness Our spiritual life creates a certain reaction to people and we don’t want to offend anyone The wrong is, we tend to conflate spirituality with religion – it’s not the same thing We use competition in our career that yields to what Emily calls, “Snow-Globe Thinking” A true spiritual practice is what clears out the snow Great leaders don’t have to crawl to the top – they’re carried there Magnitude is the idea of seeing yourself created by God and in a state of spiritual perfection Knowing magnitude creates confidence Emily shares an example of magnitude: Emily had a client who was preparing for a big job interview Her client approached the interview with a tremendous amount of nervousness, anger, and resentment Emily encouraged her client saying that if she doesn’t get the job, that it is NOT a reflection or measurement of her worth Her client had an internal shift in perception from fear to love and she got the job Emily has come to a place where she is far less apologetic in her practice of spirituality Giovanna is not fully out of her “God Closet” It was a disservice for Giovanna when she held back Giovanna has seen the transformations and the relationships that have healed “We’re dealing with a practice a lot of people don’t know about” What helped Emily in the course was creating a container Giovanna was introduced to the course from her mentor 15 years ago Giovanna resisted learning from the course The funny thing was, Giovanna kept attending the course and miracles study groups without opening the book She credits her spiritual mentor for recommending her to read the book, The Disappearance of the Universe It wasn’t until about 4 years ago when Giovanna opened the book The Jesus of the course is different from the Biblical Jesus The Biblical Jesus is in alignment with what the course says As Emily was writing her book, she was aware it could kill her speaking career on mindful leadership What’s interesting was Emily got more engagement after her book was written Emily is NOT a scholar of all religions, but all these things are pointing to LOVE “This is a course on how to know yourself” It’s important to know God and to have a relationship with Him You can go through your life in 2 ways: You can go through life feeling you’re responsible for and in control of everything that happens to you You can also go through your life relying upon the guidance, wisdom, compassion, and love that’s greater than your own You have to open that door and acknowledge that you don’t know When we talk about guidance, we’re not asking for the external situation in our life to change, but for us change The Holy Spirit in the course is the communication link between you and God Saying you want to see things differently is asking Be willing to acknowledge that we have a lot of stories Standing in your magnitude is dropping all your stories – your spiritual self has no story Emily shares about a career workshop she was in with Marianne Williamson Magnitude is the perfection that we see in ourselves There is a level where we cannot be affected with a story Join Emily’s group at Course Companions Connect with Emily on her website Check out The She Rises website!
