This year we are changing a bit how we publish episodes about startups that build innovative products for product people. Instead of creating a series with several episodes in a row like we did in previous years, we are going to release one-of episodes, as we find and get to interview the founders of the startups. The first Startup of 2024 is Lodestone. We have met with Dennis Chow, seasoned Product Executive, with rich experience in product management at major Canadian telecom companies Rogers and Telus, Sears, Pivotal Payments, Intuit, TouchBistro and more. An instructor at Product Faculty and advisor to startups, Dennis always looked for ways to help communicate complex product decisions into simple ways that are easily and transparently shared up and across the organization. This was the first problem he set out to solve as founder and CEO of Lodestone, but his vision is much larger than that!Join Matt and Moshe as we chat with Dennis and learn:His path to Product Management, working in chunks of 5 years (10K hours) to get great at what he does and move his career forwardThe vision of Lodestone, a Product Management toolkit that help PMs move faster and get more things doneThe sunburst roadmap, a visual roadmap tool that one one hand, helps connecting epics and stories with the strategy, and on the other hand, helps product managers tell a better story Other features such as feature repository, documentation generator with the help of AI - to help PMs start from something rather than a blank pageThe difference between roadmaps and release plansHis vision for the next 5 years of Lodestone, including more value to product leaders and early stage startup foundersHow does Lodestone works with research and discovery dataAnd much more!* You can connect with Dennis at:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/chowdennis/ Twitter: @lodestonepmLodestone: Lodestone.pm You can find the podcast's page, and connect with Matt and Moshe on Linkedin:Product for Product Podcast - linkedin.com/company/product-for-product-podcastMatt Green - linkedin.com/in/mattgreenanalytics/Moshe Mikanovsky - linkedin.com/in/mikanovsky/Note: any views mentioned in the podcast are the sole views of our hosts and guests,  and do not represent the products mentioned in any way. Please leave us a review and feedback ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Welcome back to the Yay for Business Podcast! Today we are going back to my roots: Writing great sales pages. Consider this episode your sales page copy 101. This is a skill that every entrepreneur is going to want to keep in their back pocket.Writing copy for sales pages is what I was known for back when I first started in the online business space. It's the thing that put me on the map, which is ironic since I was resistant to being a sales page copywriter in the first place. I was scared because I felt a lot of pressure to write someone else's sales page - the thing that would determine whether or not they make any sales. I started by analyzing other people's sales pages and honing my craft. Eventually, I came up with a 14-part template for writing excellent sales pages that are highly effective for generating tangible results. This month, every episode of the Yay for Business Podcast is all about copywriting. This is all in lead up to our workshop: "Become a World Class Copywriter for Your Business." I highly encourage you to apply and join us inside of Yay for 100K so that you can get access to this workshop which is all about building the foundation you need to become a world class copywriter. It's one thing to have the templates and understand the mechanics of a copy (which you'll also get in Yay for 100K!), but it's quite another thing to learn the psychology behind copywriting. “The universal truth about business... is that everything takes a lot longer than you think it's going to.”—  Joanna GriffithsJoanna Griffiths has built a business based on empowering women in all stages of life.Joanna is the founder and CEO of Knix, an intimate apparel company with a focus on function. Knix offers a revolutionary line of leak-proof period underwear, as well as wireless bras. When she was pregnant with her first child, she was told that investors would never invest in a company whose founder was about to go on maternity leave.Fast forward to today: she's not only raised substantial funding, but her brand will soon surpass $100 million in net sales. As a matter of fact, she closed around $40 million of funding just three days before giving birth to her beautiful twin girls!“We really want to redefine what a brand can mean for our customers by tackling taboos, making sure everyone feels represented and seen, and just having a really authentic, candid, and real relationship with our community,” Joanna explains.A pioneer in period underwear, Knix launched at a time when the market (and culture) wasn't quite ready for their products — or their body-positive marketing. Dr Matthew Bonner of the Imperial College London is one of the leading scientists touching on the subject of the fire safety of facades. His flavour is tackling the complexity through big data analyses and developing new ways to use AI to help us in future. His research has started few months before the Grenfell, and the tragedy has definitely made more eyes follow his studies. I think he has passed the test and provided useful knowledge that was a starting point for multiple follow up projects. I didn't mention this in the episode, but this research got Matt the 2020 SFPE Student Scholar Award, and he kind of landed on the first page of Financial Times...But yeah, once you listen to what he has to say, you will know there is some quality and solid science in there!I hope you will enjoy the episode!---- LinkedIn Discussion Thread ----https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6808262852223266816---- Useful links ----The paper on complexity: http://koreascience.or.kr/article/JAKO201809355933912.pageThe paper on the facade fire database based on the  Polish method we have  talked about: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0360132319307528?via%3DihubWikipedia page - list of high-rise facade fires: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_high-rise_facade_firesFind Imperial Hazelab at https://www.imperial.ac.uk/hazelabFind Matt Bonner at:https://www.imperial.ac.uk/people/m.bonner16https://twitter.com/MattBonnerFirehttps://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewbonnerfire/
