"Scar tissue that I wish you saw...Sarcastic Mister know it all...Wave Goodbye to Ma and Pa cause with the Birds I'll share...." - Red Hot Chili Peppers This isn't a lonely view. Like the Ted Lasso character Dani Rojas says, "Music is Life!" Music has so many important meanings to me (little t). Music has been a part of my life since before I was born, through my family, our family friends, to my own journey with playing multiple instruments and gymnastics. Music, songs, lyrics and the like help us all through some of the most trying of times. Certain phrases of a song, lyrics, complete songs, and even something as simple as the Hammond B3 Organ can change a persons life. (anyone who understands what a B3 is knows it's not 'simple') I can tell you when and why and where parts of my life occurred just by hearing one jingle, one chord, one sound. I have waited almost three years to be able to record this particular episode and while I had so many things I wanted to say and bits and pieces I wanted to make sure were in the episode, I realized if I waited any longer there would be too much pressure placed on myself by myself to make it perfect. We aren't perfect. Humans are a mess. Families aren't perfect. Families are a shit show to put it mildly. There are a few goals with recording and releasing this episode. One. To get rid of this monkey on my back. This information was carried privately for far too long and then only amongst a few friends and family members but now, now is the time to put this out into the world. Two. If just one phrase or sentence of what Trice and I say in this episode helps just one person get through just one moment of just one minute, just one hour, just one day, then I have accomplished a primary goal. There is still a lot of processing to do. This podcast is a small part of my journey but my hope is by me being open about all or many of the things Trice and I have navigated the previous couple of years someone, somewhere, will feel supported. I certainly have not felt supported by many in recent years, even recent days but I am constantly trying to learn and grow. I am trying to quit holding on so tight to things that need to be left behind. By 'things' that means actual tangible things but also people, careers, relationships. We sincerely appreciate all of our listeners and supporters. The biggest thanks to one half of our show, Big T because without him I'm not sure where I would be. Most definitely a special thank you to our friends at Stanley Station Wine and Spirits in Shawnee, and Overland Park, KS! One thing I am to a fault is loyal. Often if feels more harm than good comes of being loyal but in the instance of where we buy our Happy Hour accoutrements, Stanley Station has been there with us from the very beginning. Trice and I appreciate all the support with our new endeavors and continued support as this show evolves just as we are trying to do. @stanley_station_wine_spirits @trice_a @tntfridays #wesupportyou #whackamolescreenplay #whackamoleteleplay #whackamole --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fridaysat5/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/fridaysat5/support

When an injury ended his dreams of playing soccer on a professional level, Cristo Fernández decided to tackle his other dream: filmmaking and acting. Little did he know that the perfect opportunity would come along in which he could combine all of his talents in a single role, Ted Lasso fan favorite Dani Rojas. “I never imagined when I dreamed of being a soccer player that it would come back to me in this way, but I was always open thanks to my friends and family who pushed me to study and find something else. I learned discipline and hard work from the sport, being an athlete, and using it in my new dreams as an actor and filmmaker. Now here I am doing the two things I love the most in my life.” You can stream seasons one through three of Ted Lasso on Apple TV+

An hour-long episode of “Ted Lasso” generates an hour-long discussion, of course. We break down all the many storylines, including Sam fact-checking a pep talk, Dani Rojas taking all the friendly out of an international friendly, Nate dodging the paparazzi, Rebecca seeing a little girl and many little boys, Keely buying a souvenir, and Roy being a microscopic cog in his niece Phoebe’s catastrophic plan. Jason Snell with Kelly Guimont and Jean MacDonald.
FÚTBOL IS LIFE! We chatted with the wonderful Cristo Fernández about his Dani Rojas character on the super popular Ted Lasso show, along with his soccer career, his favorite soccer teams, and his upcoming movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

Is this Richmond AFC's year? Can Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya, and Dani Rojas provide the leadership to take Coach Ted Lasso's club to a championship level? Today's SportsBeat KC podcast goes inside Richmond AFC's quest to climb the ranks in the English Premier League. Or nothing like that. But today's show is about Ted Lasso, the show that begins its third season on Apple TV+ and has enjoyed more success than the team with seven Emmys, including two for best comedy series. Star coumnists Vahe Gregorian and Sam McDowell discuss the show, and after a break, Ted Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis, spent time with Gregorian on a zoom call. They chatted about the show's international popularity, sports and soccer as a vehicle for Ted Lasso's message of hope and kindness. As fans of the show know, “Believe,” is a recurring theme. Season 2 of Ted Lasso opens with a traumatic event that forces Dani Rojas to rethink his identity, which to date has been entirely intertwined with his career. We are also introduced to the new team psychiatrist, Dr. Sharon, and get the sense that Season 2 is going to explore themes around mental health and emotions in the workplace. Nate starts to display some bad behaviors that are typical of folks newly promoted (who are still unsure of themselves).
We are excited to start a new segment with Simply Trade. Until we come up with a name for this segment we will just refer to them as mini episodes. These will feature fundamentals of international trade and/or current trending events in trade... or both!! The show is hosted by Lalo Solorzano and Annik Sobing (part of the GTC Team!!). This week we take on the question, "What does the World Cup have to do with International Trade?"... or "Why would Taylor Swift care about International Trade?" in case some of you don't care about soccer, football, futbol, fußball, "the beautiful game", or as Dani Rojas refers to it as, "Football is Life". We talk about a very useful international trade instrument that can save teams, performers, business travelers, and many others lots of time and money... and headaches. Tune it to hear what this is all about. Let us know your thoughts on this new segment and any suggestions or ideas that you may have for us to talk about. Dani Rojas steps up to the ball as he prepares for a game-winning penalty kick, and in one last deep-breath moment calms himself and exhales with his infamous dogma preached repeatedly on the Ted Lasso sports comedy-drama saying simply and profoundly… Football Is Life. For Dani, when the game seems out of his control, and life seems complicated, unfair, and uncomfortable, he calms himself and retreats back to his basic truth. Football. Is. Life. The show Ted Lasso has provided a pandemic-confused world, a respite of breath with profound insight packaged in off-color, but understandable humor. When Ted Lasso meets chaos, there is always a bypass to peace. Dani Rojas reminds himself of that bypass with his Football Is Life enunciation. For business owners, and particularly those in the construction (or processed material delivery) industry, the chaos of material delays, price increases, frustrated project managers and superintendents, client expectations, and global unpredictability have given rise to the schedule unpredictability complex. What is a schedule? Its very basic definition from dictionary.com is this: “a plan for carrying out a process”. In any business, every schedule should be a culmination of two parts; the processes needed to be achieved, and the dates and sequence by which those processes should be started and completed. A schedule is a pre-mapped plan that includes the right processes, in the right sequence, happening on the right timeline. In order to build such a pre-mapped plan, your schedule must be informed by three pieces of information; past, present, and future. Past information and experience allow you to more easily navigate trends that have been true up until now. If material procurement for windows in the past has a normal delivery turnaround of 7 days, then you pencil in your plan a window of 7 to 14 days out. But wait!!!! Now window delivery times are upwards of 6 months! That brings us to the present and future information. Present information and experience allow you to see what is really happening in today's environment allowing you to just to what you think may come true in the future. If window delivery times are now 6 months, then you adjust your planning based on the latest information you have. You base scheduling projections on the cocktail of… Past Experience + Present Reality + Future Projections = Communicated Schedule You have three options in preparing a schedule for you, your team, and your customer… Option one, create a schedule with the best information you have, update it daily or weekly, and communicate it with clarity and repetition. Option two, create a schedule with the best information you have, do not update, and do not communicate it well. Option three, do not put in the hard work of creating a schedule with the best information you have. This upheaval culture that we have navigated in a post-pandemic reality has turned past partners into current and future enemies. The ideal setup was that the contractor, client, and partners were a team in coordination. Much of that has been twisted where the client and partners have become the enemy. An aligned, well-prepared, often-updated, well-communicated schedule will bring that partnership mindset back into play and allow for the production or construction process to be far more enjoyable and profitable. In the same way, Dani Roja proclaims that Football Is Life, you must believe that in your business Schedule Is Life. If a project is budgeted to be complete in 12 months and takes 13 months, most would simply look at that and think, “well that stinks, but we are still billing for the project in its full amount.” The challenge is that by adding an extra month to the project, billing essentially decreased by about 8% because although the full project amount will still be received, there was an entire extra month of fixed overhead added to the project because of the delay. While the schedule can be delayed, payroll and all other business overhead continue to be paid. The 8% in many cases, eats into much of the profit of the job, and eventually, with more delays, the company just performed that project breaking even or in a situation where it actually spent its own money to complete the project. How do you build a construction schedule (or any production schedule) that will bring clarity and make time for what matters most? The secret has to do more with the time you set aside than the innovation needed. First, you must block time to think through it and build it. Just last week I was leading a business team through an exercise in helping each team member build their own weekly schedule around their role. While many were skeptical that such pie-in-the-sky exercise would actually work day to day, the team had real wind in their sails when the Director Of Construction pulled out his physical weekly schedule, held it up, and declared, “This works, but it only works if you build it and use it.” In order to build it, you must make time and do it. Second, you must block time to update it. That same Director Of Construction, after months of living out and refining his weekly schedule, then took it a step further and, after blocking time to think and build, created a simple spreadsheet listing out a typical construction billing cycle based on the cocktail of historical experience, present delays, and future projections. It is not perfect because it cannot be… but it is much closer to useful than nothing at all. He updates his weekly schedule monthly, and his billing cycle sheet weekly. The time to work on his schedule is actually blocked on his schedule! Third, you must act both on the information you have today, and build contingency on the information you could have tomorrow. Stop longing for the past, bemoaning the present, and laboring over perfect projections for the future. Instead, take what you know from the past, listen to what you are seeing in the present, and listen to what you might be hearing about the future. Mix that cocktail and build the best schedule you can based on the information you have. Finally, you must communicate your schedule, and it's fluctuations, early and often. Over-communication will help cover a well-thought, but ultimately imperfect schedule. Clients, vendors, and partners will have far more grace and forgiveness for a schedule-centered process that get altered by forces outside of your control, than a poorly communicated schedule where you have no defense and everything will seem like your fault. Communicate when you are going to communicate. Tell them what you are going to do. Tell them what you are doing (even if it is nothing at all). Tell them what you did. Your schedule is your silver bullet. It's all you've got. Try to wing it, and it will send you straight to the ground. Build it thoughtfully and communicate it well, and you will find that Schedule Is Life and you will bury it in the back of the net.

Ted struggles emotionally with the end of his marriage, but is buoyed by Richmond's first win. The press continues to treat Rebecca badly, calling her "Old Rebecca" after Bex, whose full name is also Rebecca, begins dating Rupert, and Jamie and Ted continue to clash over his role with the team. Jamie sees his power weaken when Dani Rojas, a new, enthusiastic player who is just as good as Jamie, joins the team. The two form a rivalry, but Dani gets mysteriously injured, and Ted learns of ghosts haunting the team's treatment room. Ted makes the team sacrifice something special to them to lift the curse, and even Jamie joins in, after inspirational words from Keeley. The next morning, Ted discovers that Jamie has been returned to Manchester City, who had loaned Jamie to AFC Richmond for the season. Dani tries to cheer him up, but nothing happens. Rebecca works to derail the team.

On this week's entertainment-themed Round 2, Ted Lasso continued with its bittersweet tugs on our hearts in "Two Aces." We got to meet the "Golden retriever puppy of a man," Dani Rojas, but also saw Ted lose a big battle when Jamie returned to a different football club. Next: S1E7, "Make Rebecca Great Again."On Only Murders in the Building, we learned some important new facts about the Tim Kono case, and also confirmed that Oliver will eat just about anything, as long as it's free. Next: S1E7, "The Boy From 6B."

We arrive at the premiere in stoppage time of the 8th game of the season only to see Dani Rojas kill a dog with a PK. No, that is not a misprint, Dani Rojas killed a dog with a PK, getting the yips in the process. The dog dying was not even the most cringe worthy thing that happened in this episode - that belongs to the press pool stealing Trent Crimm's line! In addition to saying goodbye to Earl, the Brothers discuss the flurry of activity going on in the episode and all that seems to have happened since we last saw the characters: - Roy is MIA after a seemingly epic retirement presser, coaching Phoebe's U9 girls team. - Rebecca is dating - dude is nothing like Rupert, but still a knob. - Nate has turned heel! - The Lasso Way no longer seems to be working! - New characters galore! Ted Lasso on calling out epically bad ideas: “I shouldn't bring an umbrella to a brainstorm.”
It's great to be back in the world of Ted Lasso, innit?? Ted learns girl talk, while we learn what Roy's life is like post-retirement and why football is no longer life for Dani Rojas. Ted Lasso S2E1 “Goodbye Earl” - Episode Recap - Ray Taylor Show Subscribe: InspiredDisorder.com/rts Binge Ad Free: InspiredDisorder.com/Patreon Show topic: The episode starts mid season, as Richmond has drawn their last six games. Dani Rojas prepares to kick a game winning penalty, but he accidentally kills Richmond's greyhound mascot Earl as he jumps in front of the goal to attack a bird. Dani is guilt-ridden and loses his football skills. Meanwhile, a newly retired Roy is coaching a Under 9 Girls Football team and dating Keeley. They go on a double date with Rebecca's new boyfriend John, but Roy convinces Rebecca after the date that she deserves someone better. To help Dani recover from his "yips", Richmond hires a sports psychologist named Sharon, whose stern and disciplinary attitude clashes with Ted. Rebecca breaks things off with John. After meeting with Sharon, Dani regains his enthusiasm for football and converts a corner kick goal in practice. As result, more players begin to request sessions with Sharon. The episode ends with Roy and his yoga group watching a reality dating show that Jamie Tartt happens to be on. Roy is livid with his group for liking Jamie.Sponsored By:Patreon.com/InspiredDisorder $3 membership.*Binge full week of Ray Taylor Show (audio+Video)*Massive discount code for The Many Faces*Download raw photoshop filesStationHouseCoffee.com and @StationHouseCoffee on Instagram for premium small batch, single source coffee.InspiredDisorder.com/Ting $25 CREDIT! NANANANANANANA DANI ROJAS! DANI! DANI! DANI ROJAS!!! Trent Crimm, The Independent. And of course the great Ted Lasso! The post Episode 358: The Unrelenting Joy that is TED LASSO! appeared first on So...I'm Watching This Show.
For the third time in a week-and-a-half, the boys in Black and Gold take the pitch, this time against usual punching bags, the Vancouver Whitecaps. Despite an awful start, LAFC salvages a point, and you can hear all about it here on Episode 156 of Defenders of the Banc!LAFC came out sluggish and sloppy, and it showed almost immediately. Forced to defend cross after cross in the first 25 minutes, Vancouver finally broke through on a Caicedo goal after some confusion between Moon-Hwan and Romero. Thirteen minutes later, the diminutive Dajome somehow rises above the rest to head one in off a free kick, and LAFC is down a pair. LAFC would respond, however, with Captain Carlos getting on the end of a beautiful through-ball from Eduard Atuesta to notch a goal in three straight contests. LAFC would end the half down one, but despite our play through the first 45', we were still alive and kicking. Bob would make wholesale changes to start the second half, bringing on Chiqui, Corey Baird, Pancho, and Eddie Segura while changing our shape to Bob's favorite formation, a 4-3-3. It paid dividends immediately, as LAFC controlled possession and started to both create chances on offense and shore up gaps on defense. A wonderstrike by Jose Cifuentes in the 75' would level the match at 2. For the second time in the match, the good people over at PRO help out LAFC, waving off a goal in the 83' by Dajome to preserve the draw. It wasn't the result we had hoped for, but a point is better than a loss, even at home. It should be noted that this is only the third time in club history we have gone down 2+ goals to come back to preserve at least a point. Also on this episode, we meet Coach Beard, Dani Rojas, and Thierry Zoreaux! OMG! We get to play our favorite game from seasons past, Name That Perez, but not for a good reason at all. Beita is back, Christian Ramirez scores in Scotland, and Randy's Donuts gets some love on This Day In LAFC History. Congrats to LAFC's Pre-Game Show on their Emmy win!We play yet again in 4 days, welcoming back Tyler Miller and the Minnesota United on Wednesday. Until then, enjoy Episode 156, and good luck to the US Women in Tokyo!
This is a bonus miniseries, our regular Office episodes will still come out this week. Welcome to the 2nd episode of Biscuits with the Boss - a miniseries about Ted Lasso ahead of it's season 2 release on July 23rd. “Right. The product you'd most like to get into business with is joy?" “Si, mucho, mucho joy." In the ‘Second Half' episode we wrap up the rest of Season 1! With just 45 minutes we go through topics like the joy of Dani Rojas, the villainy of Rupert Mannion, whether Roy Kent returns next season, the effectiveness of the ending, and where we think the show goes in Season 2. We give our last thoughts on the show and reflect on the different takeaways we each had after watching the show for the first time (in the case of Sean) or re-watching (in the case of Alex and Edwin). Welcome back, Greyhounds! We've changed venues and we're coming to you from the Crown & Anchor this week to have a conversation about the Ted Lasso SAG Awards Sketch and that amazing Season 2 Teaser Trailer. On this episode, Christian, Brett, and Marisa discuss our favorite moments and point out some small but meaningful moments of emotional intelligence in the sketch and the teaser trailer. We also wonder where the conflict will come from in season two, go deep down the rabbit hole on the score for the trailer, and express our relief that Season 2 looks like it's not going to suck! But we still have questions. Like, how will sports psychologist Sharon fit in with the Richmond crew? Why is Dani Rojas screaming? Who is John Wingsnight? And where is Jamie in all this? Is it July 23rd yet?Discussed On This EpisodeQueen's 'We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions' 40 Years Later: A History of the Biggest Jock Jam Single of All Time (Billboard, 2017)SAG Awards: Ted Lasso Team on the Greatest Ensembles of All Time (TNT; YouTube, 2021)Ted Lasso — Season 2 Teaser (Apple TV+; YouTube, 2021)Election Night Sketch (Saturday Night Live; YouTube, 2016)Super Bowl Pod (Saturday Night Live; YouTube, 2021)Jason Sudeikis explains his sweatshirt from the Golden Globes: 'Don't call it product placement' (Entertainment Weekly, 2021)Brett Goldstein performs The Muppet Christmas Carol in Six Minutes (YouTube, 2017)Brené Brown: The Fast Track to Genuine Joy (Oprah Magazine)Follow the show on Twitter.A full transcript of this episode can be found here.Richmond Til We Die is a conversation about the Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso. A place where fans (and curious newcomers) come together to discuss the characters, their relationships to each other, and how they're able to make us laugh until we can hardly breathe one minute and then feel with the deepest parts of our hearts the next. When you're here, you're a Greyhound!
The Lasso Brothers recap episode 6 of Ted Lasso and have no doubt that it is the best episode thus far! Trent Crimm, it was a good run, but you have been relegated to the second spot. Two Aces better not get too comfortable at the top though - there is some stiff competition headed your way. Ted and Jamie have a conversation about practice. Not a game. Practice. The Lasso Brothers love the way Ted flips the script on the idea of practice - removing the typical monotony and replacing it with the idea of it being the only time where the team gets to play together and control the environment. Not to mention, it feels REALLY good to see Jamie put in his place . . . seriously, it felt really good to watch this. Ted also delivers another materstroke in coming up with a plan to unite the team and reverse the curse of the AFC Richmond treatment room - even the former sexy little baby Jamie shows up to assist in reversing the curse! Unfortunately, however, not all is well in Lasso Land when he finds out that Jamie has been recalled by Manchester City . . . I mean, come on, they had TWO ACES - you all saw it! The Brothers last and most important thought on this episode: Dani Rojas! Ted Lasso on having a backup plan: “My plan is for my plan to work.”
In this episode, there is so much gushing over the introduction of the raven haired golden retriever, Dani Rojas!! Shawn has a correction from last episode that is a BIGGIE and Nikki discovers a hidden little gem in the dialogue. This episode is full of mucho mucho joy, along with the regular segments, Swear Count, TLC, Check the Effect and Favourite Quote. And always, Laugh, Love, Lasso
