Are you actively feeding your mind the things that produce true joy, or is your mental diet shaping you into someone who is grumpy, despairing, and ungrateful? This week on Off Script, Neil sits down with the president of Ozark Christian College, Matt Proctor, to dive deep into a powerhouse verse that got cut from Sunday's sermon: Philippians 4:8. They discuss what it practically means to audit our mental intake and how tasting the "real thing" in Christ completely weakens the appeal of the world's counterfeits. From the compounding impact of social media algorithms and passive marketing in our homes, to finding the strength to give thanks in all circumstances rather than for them, this conversation is an urgent reminder that true joy is something we must actively fight for and cultivate daily. The Challenge This week, slow down and practice the discipline of Christian meditation. Instead of gulping down chapters of Scripture just to check off a box, take just one verse, like Philippians 4:8, and chew on it slowly all week long, asking questions of the text and allowing it to take real residence in your heart, mind, and soul. Hosts: Neil Gregory and Matt Proctor What We Discuss •How Matt unexpectedly transitioned from a local church pulpit to serving as the president of Ozark Christian College for 20 years •The joy of traveling the globe to see how a "little bitty college" in Missouri impacts millions through its alumni •How Matt manages a demanding travel schedule and a massive family of six kids and seven grandkids alongside his wife, Katie •Diving deep into Philippians 4:8 and why Matt felt guilty for having to cut this highlight verse from his Sunday sermon •The "Secret Service" approach to joy: why focusing on the real thing makes worldly counterfeits lose their flavor •A sobering historical look at how a young Adolf Hitler's isolation and toxic mental diet shaped his path toward destruction •Practical ways to practice "passive marketing" on your kids by strategically decorating your home with scripture and faith reminders •The powerful distinction in 1 Thessalonians 5 between giving thanks for your difficult circumstances versus giving thanks in them •Matt's infamous "three flat tire day" where his wife reminded him of James 1:2 right as he was grumbling on the curb •The unforgettable ministry lesson Matt learned from Raymond, a nursing home resident with MS who chose to sing "I'm so happy" every single week •Balancing holy ambition with the spiritual necessity to pause, pull back, and understand the difference between abounding and abiding About Southland Christian Church Southland is one church meeting in multiple locations across central Kentucky. We believe Jesus came for the lost and the broken, which means there's a place for everyone here. Around here, that means we worship defiantly, speak truth unashamedly, and extend grace generously. Mark Twain said the Missouri River is too thick to drink and too thin to plow. The Big Muddy doesn't get the kind of attention the Mighty Mississippi does, but it's the longest river in North America and pivotal in the history of our nation. When it was time for Lisa Dill's family to replace the old pontoon boat on Lake Okoboji, her cousins suggested taking it on a journey down the Missouri and giving it away at the end. Dill jumped on board. She wrote about the experience and the river in 'Around the Bend: Floating Down the Missouri River.' Then, school's out for summer, but that doesn't mean we can't still learn. In the first installment of 'Talk of Iowa Summer School,' middle school science teacher Mark Dorhout shares how birdhouses can be a tool to encourage the next generation of citizen scientists.

A remote property in northern Missouri became the center of one of the strangest BFRO expeditions Mary Ann Ziebell has ever experienced.Researchers spread across the land reported knocks in the darkness, shadow movement near the tree line, unexplained footsteps following investigators, thermal sightings deep in a ravine, and deer suddenly fleeing through the field. Then, during a thunderstorm after midnight, something began hitting the side of Mary Ann's tent over and over again. As the team scrambled outside, a massive figure was spotted moving near the barn and eye shine flashed in the darkness before disappearing into the woods. This episode dives deep into firsthand testimony, coordinated field investigation, and the unsettling activity surrounding a northern Missouri property with decades of Bigfoot history.Listen now to hear the full encounter.Resources: Mary Ann's showhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnPjIMf3ScxUsOLN8lov1_A

In Hour 1, Ryan Wrecker and Kim St. Onge discuss the newly announced U.S.-Iran agreement at the G7, questions about enforcement, reconstruction funding, and whether Iran can be trusted to uphold the deal. They also cover the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, a deadly B-52 crash in California, and reaction from lawmakers demanding more details. Locally, the pair break down the massive downtown St. Louis sinkhole that forced the closure of I-44, concerns over aging infrastructure, and a court ruling that upholds Missouri's law returning control of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to the state. Plus, a "Kim on a Whim" discussion on whether The Office could be made today, media double standards, political hypocrisy, teen takeovers downtown, and why World Cup visitors are falling in love with uniquely American experiences like Buc-ee's, Walmart, and free refills.
Former Missouri Senator John Lamping joins Ryan Wrecker and Kim St. Onge to discuss the growing problem of teen takeovers, youth crime, and the role prosecutors play in enforcing the law. Lamping explains why strong laws alone are not enough without prosecutors willing to pursue charges and weighs in on whether parents should face consequences when minors are involved in disruptive incidents. The conversation also turns to Amendment 5 and Missouri's effort to move toward eliminating the state income tax. Lamping discusses the political hurdles facing the proposal, arguments from supporters and opponents, the economic advantages of no-income-tax states, and why Governor Mike Kehoe continues to champion the issue as part of Missouri's long-term economic strategy.
In Hour 2, Ryan Wrecker and Kim St. Onge continue the conversation about teen takeovers and youth crime, examining whether stronger prosecution, tougher consequences, or greater parental accountability are needed to address the growing problem. The discussion explores how communities can respond to increasingly disruptive incidents and what solutions listeners believe would be most effective. The pair also take a closer look at Amendment 5 and Missouri's effort to eliminate the state income tax. They break down what the proposal would do, the arguments being made by supporters and opponents, and what the measure could mean for workers, taxpayers, and the state's economic future. Later, Kim and Ryan discuss a worker who received a religious exemption from using artificial intelligence on the job, sparking a broader debate about AI in the workplace, employee rights, and how businesses may handle similar requests as the technology becomes more common.
Ryan Wrecker joins Kim St. Onge for a packed edition of The Marc Cox Morning Show. The duo breaks down the new U.S.-Iran agreement announced at the G7, questions surrounding enforcement and reconstruction funding, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, and a deadly B-52 crash in California. They also discuss the massive downtown St. Louis sinkhole, the closure of I-44, local public safety concerns, and a court ruling upholding Missouri's law returning control of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to the state. Former Missouri Senator John Lamping joins the show to discuss teen takeovers, prosecutorial discretion, parental responsibility, and Missouri's Amendment 5 proposal to eliminate the state income tax. Later, Todd Piro discusses a foiled terror plot targeting an America 250 celebration, while Mark Walters weighs in on gun rights, the arrest of James Harden, and growing concerns over political violence. Kim on a Whim tackles media double standards, comedy and cancel culture, teen takeovers, World Cup visitors experiencing American culture, and allegations surrounding Gavin Newsom. The show also features Jeff Monasso discussing Illinois' new assisted-dying law and legal challenges surrounding it, while Ryan Wiggins examines ongoing DOJ investigations involving Newsom's administration and broader questions about government accountability.

In 1992, six murders occurred just off Interstate 70 in the states of Indiana, Kansas, and Missouri. At first, these appeared to be random on-off murders. They were committed many miles apart, and each law enforcement agency was unaware of the others. Eventually, they were linked through ballistics.Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss these baffling murders committed on the long stretch of roadway known as Interstate 70. The killer had a very distinctive MO. He picked smaller shops where most likely only one employee would be working, and most often that employee would be a woman. He used a .22 gun to commit the murders and didn't always take all of the cash in the store. Many people believe that the killer moved on to Texas to commit similar murders there. You can help support the show at Patreon.com/truecrimeallthetimeVisit the show's website at truecrimeallthetime.com for contact, merchandise, and donation information An Emash Digital productionSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Chairman Jason Smith of the House Ways and Means Committee joins the Try That In A Small Town podcast from CMA Fest in Nashville. He breaks down what the powerful Ways and Means Committee actually does and how it touches every American's life through taxes, trade, Social Security, Medicare, and more. Jason opens up about his small-town Missouri roots, being a fourth-generation farmer, raising white buffalo, and why he still lives in the same rural community he represents. He explains how he took the Ways and Means Committee on the road to 32 states to listen to working families, small businesses, and farmers before writing what he calls the “Big Beautiful Bill” – the largest tax cut in U.S. history, including no tax on tips and overtime. The conversation gets candid on Social Security's future, election integrity and slow vote counts in places like California, and what happens when people lose trust in the system. Jason also shares behind-the-scenes stories of working closely with President Trump – from grilling him for three hours on every line of a 103-title tax bill in the Oval Office to the now-famous “red button” that just orders Diet Coke. Along the way, they talk CMA Fest, Jason's obsession with Reba, the Chiefs, Mahomes vs. Brady, cleaning up Washington, D.C., and why he believes the founding fathers' values are really small-town values. Jason closes with a powerful story of a single mom whose $10,000 tax refund changed her life – and why that's why he still fights for small towns and working families. Levi returns to Bigfoot Society with one of the most intense field reports ever shared on the podcast.A BFRO expedition in Northern Missouri turns chaotic after investigators begin documenting towering shadow figures, unexplained thermal signatures, violent tent interactions during a midnight storm, massive 19-inch tracks, strange odors, eye shine crossing an open field, and movement surrounding camp only yards away from sleeping researchers. The activity escalates night after night.Levi also reveals disturbing encounters from Fouke, Arkansas near the legendary Boggy Creek area, where investigators hear impossibly heavy footsteps circling camp in total darkness before discovering hidden pathways, unusual structures, animal remains, and possible physical evidence deep in the woods. The episode expands into Land Between the Lakes, where Levi shares experiences involving isolated campsites, nighttime movement around vehicles, electronic failures, cemetery investigations, and the growing connection between Bigfoot encounters and high-strangeness phenomena. These accounts come from active investigators spending real nights in known hotspots with thermal optics, audio equipment, and firsthand observation. If you enjoy serious Bigfoot encounters, BFRO investigations, wilderness mysteries, and eyewitness testimony that stays with you long after the episode ends, this is one you need to hear.Contact Levi here: levi@narcop.org

Patrick K. O'Donnell introduces Captain John Charles Carpenter and the Jesse Scouts, a Union special forces group named after Jesse Frémont. Emerging from the Missouri insurgency, these scouts utilized 21st-century tradecraft such as disguises and infiltration to gather intelligence behind enemy lines. Simultaneously, the Confederacy enacted the Partisan Ranger Act to organize irregular fighters like John Singleton Mosby. Operating in "Mosby's Confederacy," these rangers conducted asymmetrical warfare that tied down thousands of Union troops. Both sides grappled with the lack of discipline in these units, yet recognized their strategic brilliance in modern irregular combat. (1)1863
