Chuck Todd begins by surveying the electoral landscape for the midterms after six months of Trump's presidency. He argues that gerrymandering could potentially backfire on both parties, highlights the advantages each party has heading into the midterms and why Democrats may not find a coherent message until the presidential primary produces a candidate.Semafor reporter Dave Weigel joins Chuck for a comprehensive analysis of how dramatically American politics has shifted since Trump's first term, revealing a Democratic Party still searching for its identity after its first failed presidency since Carter. Weigel argues that both parties have fundamentally transformed over the past eight years, with Democrats struggling to move beyond the failed Obama coalition strategy while grappling with divisive issues like trans rights and immigration that have left them "walking on eggshells" and lacking coherent, united positions. The conversation explores how the country has moved rightward as a backlash to Biden, why Republicans are acting like a party that believes it can't lose, and whether Democrats' overreaction to Trump prevented them from developing substantive policy frameworks on key issues voters actually care about. The discussion dives deep into the strategic challenges facing both parties, from the left's perceived "softness" on cultural issues to the sustainability of Trump's gains with Latino voters in states like Nevada and Texas. Weigel examines why the fight for trans rights has proven more politically costly than the gay marriage battle, how urban voters' flirtation with socialism doesn't translate beyond coastal cities, and whether rising stars like Michigan's Mike Duggan can bridge the gap between metro Detroit and rural areas. Looking ahead to 2026 and 2028, they analyze the emerging Republican primary landscape with potential matchups between J.D. Vance and Rand Paul, why so many Democrats are eyeing Iowa's Senate race despite the party's broader retreat from the state, and how the changing media landscape—from podcasts to new campaign infrastructure—will reshape how candidates connect with voters in an increasingly fragmented political environment. Finally, he answers listeners' questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment!Timeline: (Timestamps may vary based on advertisements)00:00 Introduction02:45 Taking the pulse of the midterm elections after 6 months of Trump04:15 There are only 25-30 seats up for grabs in the house05:00 Gerrymandering could backfire for both parties05:45 Democrats' advantages in a midterm election07:30 The “out” party is more motivated to vote in midterms09:00 The Republican party is more unified than past midterms in Trump era11:00 House Republicans are outraising Dems in most vulnerable districts12:45 Far less unity in the Democratic party now compared to 201714:15 Since 90', Democrats winning the midterms led to winning the presidency16:30 The presidential primary may help the Democrats cohere 19:30 Dave Weigel joins the Chuck ToddCast! 21:30 Similarities/differences in political landscape between 2017 & 2025? 22:45 The parties are very different compared to 8 years ago 24:15 Democrats had their first failed presidency since Carter 26:45 Democrats could learn the wrong lessons from a successful midterm 29:00 Democrats tried to replicate the Obama coalition and failed 31:00 The media and campaign infrastructure are completely different now 32:30 Battle over trans rights has Democrats flailing 34:30 Democrats are walking on eggshells over immigration 35:30 Democrats don't have clear, united positions on major issues 38:00 Voters want tight border security, but not mass deportations 40:30 Democrats believed they could make Trump "never happen again" 43:00 Dems overreacted to Trump, didn't have coherent immigration policy 44:00 The country has moved right as a backlash to Biden 45:30 Republicans acting like a party that thinks they can't lose 48:00 The left is seen as soft, is trans rights the issue creating that perception? 50:00 Trump has forced the conversation on immigration 52:00 The fight for gay marriage vs fight for trans rights 53:45 Why hasn't the gender rights fight been punted to states? 55:15 Trump endorsed gay marriage before Hilary Clinton 57:15 Both parties demonstrated hubris on gay marriage/gender rights 58:30 Voters care more about immigration than trans rights 1:00:30 Urban voters are more willing to flirt with socialism, not transferrable 1:01:30 Will Democrats distance themselves from Mamdani? 1:02:45 Dem socialists get dinged for cultural issues, not economics 1:04:00 Cost of living is biggest issue in big coastal cities, not as salient in other places 1:05:45 Michigan will be a bellwether for Democratic politics 1:07:15 Nevada and Texas will show whether Latino swing toward Trump sustains 1:11:00 How many Bernie voters would have come out in Michigan? 1:14:00 Will Mike Duggan work outside of the metro Detroit area? 1:16:30 When Trump isn't on the ballot, Democrats sweep Michigan 1:17:45 Will lack of Republican infighting boost the party in midterms? 1:21:00 Republicans haven't found "sweet spot" candidates in some races 1:22:30 Ability to appear on podcasts will matter for candidates 1:23:45 Any R's on 2028 trail besides Paul and Youngkin? 1:25:30 A tight primary race between Vance & Paul wouldn't be surprising 1:27:15 Why are so many Democrats interested in running for Iowa senate? 1:30:00 Kim Reynolds not running after DeSantis endorsement 1:31:30 Democrats surrendered Iowa and Florida 1:33:00 Favorite state fair food?1:36:45 Chuck's thoughts on interview with Dave Weigel 1:37:30 Ask Chuck 1:37:45 How were so many people duped by Trump? 1:45:45 Why does the US give such unconditional support to Israel? 1:54:25 Why doesn't Virginia produce politicians with a large national profile? 2:01:15 Why can states call a redistricting session on a whim? 2:04:45 Why wouldn't a constitutional convention be incredibly risky?

It's my belief that Governor DeSantis will take these very seriously and the audits could become extensive throughout the state. Independent of the inherent benefit of uncovering potential waste (or worse) of taxpayers' dollars, this initiative also figures to serve Governor DeSantis's objective to end property taxes on homesteaded properties.

On Friday's Mark Levin Show, Gov Ron DeSantis is enforcing immigration law! He announces that Alligator Alcatraz is now deporting illegal immigrants, and the Democrats hate it. Also, President Trump's advisors are mistaken in claiming blanket absolute immunity under the Supreme Court's Presidential immunity ruling. The decision provides absolute immunity for core presidential duties but only presumptive immunity for peripheral ones, which can be rebutted if actions fall outside legitimate responsibilities. Yes, Barack Obama can be investigated for the Russia collusion hoax. Later, Hans von Spakovsky calls in to explain that Senate Republicans are perpetuating a tactic originated by former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in 2007, using "pro forma" sessions—brief, token meetings every three days during congressional breaks—to prevent the Senate from entering a true recess. This blocks Trump from making recess appointments under the Constitution, leading to significant delays: only 86 nominees confirmed six months into his term, with 256 still pending and no U.S. attorneys approved, forcing reliance on acting officials. What are the Republicans doing?! There is no defense for this. Afterward, Israel is supplying food, medicine, and necessities, but these are being held up by Hamas, which is desperate to survive. Hamas steals food, tries to starve the Gazans, then blames Israel, and the media runs with it. Hamas also hoards aid in tunnels, kills Palestinians attempting to access it, collaborates with the UN and UNRWA to control distribution, and sells portions to fund arms purchases from Egypt. U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday said Hamas did not want to make a deal on a ceasefire and hostage release in Gaza. The comments come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was now considering "alternative" options to achieve its goals of bringing its hostages home from Gaza and ending the rule of Hamas in the territory. Trump said he believed Hamas leaders would now be "hunted down."The federal government is starting deportation flights from a detention facility in Florida, known as alligator Alcatraz. Governor Ron Desantis commented on the operation, while speaking in the Florida everglades Friday morning.

AP correspondent Haya Panjwani reports on deportation flights out of Florida.
Deportation flights have begun from Florida's “Alligator Alcatraz,” a remote Everglades detention site holding thousands of immigrants. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says the goal is rapid deportation — not indefinite detention. Critics argue the state-run facility is serving federal aims and faces legal scrutiny over its construction and operations. And our WLRN reporters mark the centennial anniversaries of South Florida's cities — and their rich stories, from Pearl City to Al Capone [35:27].
"The whole world was against me, and I won," said Donald Trump in an exclusive interview, ten days before his second inauguration. Nearly four years after Trump's first turbulent presidency concluded in a violent attempt to overturn the election, he made a political comeback on a scale that stunned the nation. How did the first U.S. president to become a convicted felon regain control of the White House? And at what cost? In 2024, award-winning reporters Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf bring us the definitive and explosive account of how Trump and his advisers overcame a dozen primary challengers, four indictments, two assassination attempts, and his own past mistakes to defeat the Democrats, and pave the way for a second term that would be far more emboldened and revenge-fueled than the first.Drawing on extraordinary access to the Trump, Biden, and Harris teams, 2024 takes readers beyond the speeches, rallies, and debates to reveal the innermost workings of the Republican and Democratic presidential campaigns. Beginning in August 2022 with the FBI's search of Mar-a-Lago for classified documents, and Trump's subsequent decision to run once again for president, Dawsey, Pager, and Arnsdorf chart how Trump stifled the rise of Republican opponents, including Ron DeSantis, and how his campaign, led by Susie Wiles, landed on a winning strategy. They reveal in unrivaled detail how Joe Biden and his team brushed off concerns about his age, ignored polling numbers, and held off the next generation of eager Democratic hopefuls-even as Biden was dealing with his own special counsel investigation and the trial of his son Hunter. After his disastrous debate performance forced him to withdraw, Biden anointed Vice President Kamala Harris as the candidate and tasked her with running the shortest presidential campaign in modern U.S. history. With only 107 days to distinguish herself from the past four years, Harris lacked the time or space to outrun Biden's shadow-a challenge in and of itself, but one which Biden would make even more difficult. On November 5th, 2024, Trump was elected the nation's forty-seventh president, and would return to power vindicated, emboldened, unrestrained, and burning for revenge. Gripping, revelatory, and deeply reported, 2024 is the remarkable inside story of one of the most consequential elections of our lifetime, the results of which will test American democracy and shape the future of the free world.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

In this explosive exposé, the Senate Intelligence Committee, chaired by Republican Tom Cotton, is allegedly crafting legislation to restrict Tulsi Gabbard from exposing damning intel files. Meanwhile, the push to unseal the Epstein files—supported by nearly 80% of Americans—hits a brick wall as Congress stalls and recesses. Add in GOP infighting, Trump's attacks on Rep. Thomas Massie, and DeSantis's role in uncovering Epstein's Florida horrors, and you get yet another tangled tale of deep-state cover-ups, political cowardice, and elite protection. What if accepting failure was the key to entrepreneurial success? Mark DeSantis has built and sold multiple companies over the years and like any entrepreneurial journey, it's been a mixture of ups and downs, failures and successes. But in this episode, we hear that acknowledging the possibility of failure is what gave him the courage to keep on going.Mark shares his entrepreneurial story – why he began it, how he stays motivated, and some of the best lessons he's picked up over the years. One of the top points he makes in this episode is to be problem-focused, not solutions-focused. When building tech solutions, it's easy to get lost in the tech itself and lose sight of the real problems you want it to solve. But to make anything commercially viable, especially something as “new” as robotics, it needs to solve real problems.Mark also sings the praises of Pittsburgh, which he says is one of the best cities for robotics innovation today. He's seen the city decline and grow over the years into what's now a college town that's thriving in the tech space. In this episode, find out:Mark shares what he's been up to recently, after seeing Bloomfield Robotics acquired by Kubota CorporationThe challenge of living with uncertainty as an entrepreneur and the story that inspired him to embrace fearWhy entrepreneurship is like climbing Mount Everest in that you should look in front of you, not at the summitMark's secret to enjoying the journey of entrepreneurship and the moment he decided he wanted to do this for the rest of his lifeWhy AI and robotics are perfect for the “big and boring” problems in our livesWhy we might need a Henry Ford-style revolution to take robotics to the next levelHow Pittsburgh is growing in the tech and robotics spaceWhy asking if someone wants to buy your solution is the wrong question for an entrepreneur to askEnjoying the show? On this episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we are joined with Juliette Bryant, a courageous survivor of Jeffrey Epstein's vile sex trafficking operation. Lured by the promise of a modeling career, Juliette was instead ensnared in a web of calculated evil. She was abused, exploited, and flown to Epstein's private island where countless others suffered the same fate. This is more than a scandal. It is a moral reckoning. And yet, the full, unredacted Epstein list, containing the names of powerful men who enabled or participated in this wickedness, remains sealed. Why is that?Donald Trump promised the American people he would release it. Now, he mocks those demanding it, calling us “bad people” and “weaklings.” Well, it's actually bad and weak to fail to release the Epstein list, Mr. President. But we will not be intimidated. The righteous are commanded to expose darkness, not negotiate with it. Trump's evasiveness increasingly resembles guilt. It's certainly not strong leadership. We will not be silenced. Not by politicians, not by media, and not by fear. We demand the truth.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-physical?srsltid=AfmBOoq6zS6i2LVAaJq4sRAuJqL9WZWgV03ccH9c4dufm2XMD0ozmV5S

Republican-led states, spearheaded by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, are launching a new accreditation body for higher education, aiming to dismantle existing standards deemed 'ideologically biased.' This move seeks to strip colleges of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, replacing robust academic curricula with 'anti-woke' content focused solely on workforce metrics and conservative dogma. It's a transparent ploy to cultivate a less critically thinking populace, benefit dubious institutions like 'Trump University,' and funnel taxpayer money to politically aligned ventures. This attack on comprehensive education prioritizes control and revenue over intellectual development, turning higher learning into an echo chamber for a narrow ideology, ultimately undermining the very fabric of an informed citizenry.News Source:Universities Creating New Accreditation Agency In Some Republican StatesBy Dan Levin and Karah Rucker for Straight Arrow NewsJune 27, 2025
This two-part commentary dives deep into America's escalating crises of trust and transparency. First, it revisits the sidelined claims of Sidney Powell about Chinese interference in the 2020 election—once dismissed as conspiracy, now partially corroborated by recent FBI findings of mass identity theft and counterfeit documents. The host criticizes big tech censorship, media bias, and the lack of accountability around absentee ballot fraud. Shifting focus, the discussion uncovers the pervasive risks of artificial dyes and fluoride in the food and water supply, highlighting efforts by figures like RFK Jr. and Ron DeSantis to strip out toxic additives while questioning why regulatory agencies and the Trump administration have acted to keep them in place. From ballot boxes to grocery aisles, the segment argues, Americans are being deceived—and it's time to wake up.
In this sweeping exposé, the host weaves together a narrative of corruption, cover-ups, and collusion across America's most critical institutions. Revisiting the controversial claims of Sidney Powell, he traces how early warnings of Chinese counterfeit ballots and identity theft—once scorned as conspiracy theories—are now partly confirmed by recent FBI admissions of massive document smuggling tied to TikTok. He details how coordinated censorship by Big Tech preemptively stifled debate on election integrity, while federal agencies allegedly destroyed evidence. The conversation then pivots to the food and water Americans consume daily, condemning the FDA, EPA, and corporate giants for pumping artificial dyes and fluoride into products linked to cancer and neurological damage. From the manipulation of the census and gerrymandering to efforts by RFK Jr. and Ron DeSantis to purge toxins from the marketplace, the segments paint a picture of a country under siege—not only at the ballot box but also at the dinner table. This is a call to vigilance: the stakes are nothing less than public health, democratic legitimacy, and the future of the nation.
