Despite gutting staff and complaining about “woke programming and anti-American drag shows” at the Kennedy Center, the center's show roster is full of drag! Then, to combat June PRIDE, a group of Ohio GOP legislators have come up with Natural Family Month to celebrate male led households with a woman and children. No single parents, divorcees, or same-sex parents allowed. Finally, burger chain In-N-Out is changing some recipes to include organic ingredients and natural dues versus processed and synthetic petroleum-based additives. Not a bad idea in our opinion. You're probably familiar with the fact that June is Pride month, as it's been the case for over 50 years now. And this week, we're covering a range of topics that relate to Pride on Do You Really Know. But how did the choice of June as Pride month come about originally? To understand this, you need to go back to the origins of the LGBTQI+ movement. In New York in 1970, the very first pride march was organised. It followed “Gay Power” marches, with that slogan giving way to “Pride”. Where does the "Pride" part of the name come from? Why was this date chosen? How did we get from pride marches on June 28th to the whole of June being "Pride Month" then? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! We kick off this sizzling set with the undeniable "Go Back" by John Summit and Sub Focus. This track has already set dancefloors ablaze, and its unique blend of Summit's signature house vibes with Sub Focus's explosive drum & bass switch-up guarantees it a lasting place in your summer playlist. While we love incorporating drum & bass into our mixes, it's a tricky genre to blend seamlessly due to its distinctive time signature. Trust us, a strictly D&B set can clear a dancefloor faster than the DJ can "read the room." After extensive experimentation, we found the perfect transition in Anyma and Chris Avantgarde's massive "Consciousness" from two years back. This track effortlessly bridges the gap between "Go Back" and Armin van Buuren's latest hit, "By Now," even though they aren't in compatible keys – sometimes, it just works! From there, we dive into the infectious energy of TELYKAST's "Free" and Avalan Rokston's "Paradise," two underrated gems that are destined to become summer anthems. We've also included two spring releases that initially flew under our radar, despite their immense popularity. Cloonee's "Sippin' Yak" received a must-have official remix by Morgan Seatree, and Mr. Belt and Wezol's garage-infused rework of Whitney Houston's "It's Not Right But It's Okay" finally caught our attention. While the original Thunderpuss remix remains iconic, Renyn and Schelander's energetic version sealed the deal for us. Jennifer Lopez, riding high on the success of her Netflix movie "Atlas" (highly recommended), also makes an appearance with Fisher's masterful house remix of her 1999 classic, "Waiting For Tonight." We've meticulously curated this set to deliver a Club Fusion experience – a mix of genres that keeps the party vibe fresh and exciting. We'll be taking a short break, but when we return, get ready for our June Pride celebrations! We'll be dropping "Gay Anthems for a New Generation" and "Pride Edition 2024" in the same week. Additionally, look out for our annual "Catch-Up" series, featuring the year's biggest hits so far, and the next installment of our beloved "Throwback" series. Until the next time...ENJOY! * No frogs were harmed in the making of the cover art. ^This episode was updated by tightening the transitions for the first quarter of the mix. Unruly people spewing hateful conspiracy theories about the Pride flag forced Leduc Mayor Bob Young to abruptly cancel a recent council meeting. Incidents like these are making news throughout June (Pride month) across North America...not to mention the boycott campaign targeting Bud Light for partnering with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney. 3:35 | So, what gives? It's June -- Pride month. Today we celebrate our gay, lesbian, bi, trans, non-binary and all people and their rights to be whomever they are, to find their unique voices and march to their own tunes and drummers. As an older person (did I just say that?), I've lived through the changes - both attitudinal and in real life. I've learned to be quiet long enough to listen to the people around me who are going through their own self-awareness journeys, realizing that everyone should be afforded the dignity to live their lives as best suits them... Today, realizing that the hate is not only here in the US, we extend our hand across the globe to say Happy Pride... be loud, be proud, be who ever the fuck you are.I spoke with an artist called Skaly from the UK. They had sent me this video that just went live yesterday, and I thought it was appropriate to invite them on the show and help spread the word.https://youtu.be/OtM8kx6h0v8And my old pal Spocko joined in too. We talked about our mutual friend, the late great Joel Silberman who taught us (and members of Congress, candidates, celebrities and activists) how to use stories to make a point. With that knowledge, Lee was the first name that came to mind when I had this thought [slash] question — what happens to our idea of motherhood as exclusive to a woman when two men are parenting a child? What is motherhood when a female is not part of the family picture? This conversation is very personal and intimate, and we feel privileged to have learned so much from Lee. We hope you will, too. Television actors and actresses have transitioned to film roles quite successfully at times.  One way to start is to do independent cinema.  And to be noticed, sometimes it is best to be daring and courageous in the roles you choose.  Dianna Agron, after her run on the TV series GLEE, got notice for her role in BARE (2015).  The role was a co-starring performance alongside BOARDWALK EMPIRE actress, Paz de la Huerta. Sarah (Dianna Agron) is a young girl living in a small town in Nevada.  She feels ennui as she spends time with her longtime boyfriend, her high school friends, and working her boring job.  When she visits the closed business of her father (who died some years ago), she finds Pepper, a worldly and free-spirited woman, that had broken in to crash on the couch.  Soon the two begin a friendship that will change Sarah forever. The film was written and directed by Natalia Leite (M.F.A. (2017)) and played numerous festivals including Tribeca among others.  The film got buzz more so for the first-time nudity from Dianna Agron but also got notice from the arthouse crowd too.  Your co-hosts take a look at this movie during our June Pride month and give their thoughts.

We have finally reached our 100th episode on our podcast! There is so much to celebrate for this wonderful occasion alongside pride month. Once again we would like to thank all our new and long-time listeners for staying tuned in and joining us through this amazing journey as we grow through learning from each other while spreading knowledge, authenticity, wisdom and love. Which brings us to this week's episode where we set up a three-way discussion, as we invited our favorite recurring guest from this show, the charismatic & humorous Ms. Darlene, incompany with our podcast team mate & LGBT+ ally Minami and of course, the gorgeous & graceful host of this show, Tiffany. We decided to have a free flowing chitchat on various intimate, inspirational, moving and fun conversations, that ranged from sharing the power of educating about LGBTQIA+, how to manage boundaries, religious stifles in relation to transgenderism, the state of LGBT+ rights around the world, Darlene's powerful story of overcoming a traumatic episode in her life, advice to those who want to come out and much more. Finally, as our title for this episode is written “Flaws Before Fabulous”, we hope our listeners take away our message that our “FLAWS”, be it from what we or society identifies it as, are just as much a crucial part of who we are and can be something to care for, love and enjoy. As the iconic Marilyn Monroe also stated, “If you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best!”. Perhaps learning to love our flaws can in turn evolve us into the fabulous beings that we can be. Below are the events and past podcast episodes we mentioned in this episode; FEW May 2022 Virtual Lunch: https://fewjapan.com/building-acceptance-towards-transgender-women-may-26-2022-recap/ Episode 84 -  Faith, Family, Forgiveness & Fabulous Journey Of Trans Showgirl Cosplayer Ms. Darlene:  https://www.tiffanyrossdale.com/podcast/episode/76670502/faith-family-forgiveness-and-fabulous-journey-of-trans-showgirl-cosplayer-ms-darlene Episode 90 - International Transgender Day Of Visibility With Ms. Darlene: https://www.tiffanyrossdale.com/podcast/episode/7be7e80b/international-transgender-day-of-visibility-with-ms-darleneShare with us your thoughts on the episode & don't forget to share, like, comment, rate & subscribe to our podcast. फिलहाल मैं चलती हूँ, आपसे अगले FYI में मुलाक़ात होगी with a brand new topic.

June is gay pride month around the United States and parts of the world. This morning I was watching a tictok of a young gay conservative man who stated he didn't understand why there should be a gay pride month. His view. However, the backlash of gay individuals attacked him with the full thrust of hate because he did not believe as they did. So the hate that came through their written words were disgusting. If you remember what the gay community fought for was for tolerance. To be accepting of the gay community. However, not tolerance has not been practiced by the gay community on a whole hose of issues. Tolerance has become a one way street, only one view, one direction. Everyone else is not tolerable. In politics we see the same issues and the view that if you don't go with us you are the enemy. That is not tolerance. Tolerance is being accepting and having the conversations to understand the other point of view is. So to this old gay man who verbally attacked a younger gay men - practice tolerance. Practice what you fought for.Every single one of us, in all walks of life, should be practicing tolerance. Practice it and then sit down with the other side and hear them out. Don't attack, instead listen and understand why. If you truly believe in tolerance you will practice it well.If you like the content of my podcast, help me out by going to www.buymeacoffee.com/MichaelLodge If you have a business or mediation question, send me an email to info@lodge-co.com www.lodge-co.com

For PrideFest, artists are essential. For this June's Virtual Pride, artists are virtual (and still essential). Today, hosts Egan Orion and Aleksa Manila talk Bubble Tea, queerentine, and plans for Mother's Day, and more importantly they chat with three artists in different fields. Olivier Wevers is the founder and artistic director of dance company Whim W'him. Gaysha Starr is a legendary Seattle drag queen. And Lisa Koch is a jack-of-all-trades comedienne who is sure to make you laugh. June Pride this year may be virtual, but the artists are more essential than ever.

Hello, Doccalos! Normally there would be a “Shorties” episode happening today. Next week we will get back to that, but to close out June/PRIDE-month, Drew and Bob skip ahead a little on the 30 for 30 roster to discuss the story of a professional lady tennis player who was born as a man. The story of Renée Richards cuts deep in this layered portrait. Life is always complicated, especially when you’re transitioning genders in the 60s and 70s. Bob and Drew unnecessarily lend their voices to close out PRIDE-month with Eric Drath’s ESPN 30 for 30 film “Renée”. Not only that, but the mystery of Bob’s “missing time” gets even stranger. I’m really bummed Bob came back. Angela could have easily hosted this 30 for 30. She would probably do it better in my opinion. Seriously, we’re back to listening to this goofy dork and his weird gross jokes? What kind of maniac makes “corpse fucking” jokes? I wouldn't blame you if you all unsubscribed all at once. If it wasn't for all the other hosts, and these excellent show notes, I would probably push more for that. Thanks to everyone who listened this month. We’re going to have a few themed months every year, and we look forward to improving on them as we move forward.
