In this episode Shermin Voshmgir, Founder of the Token Kitchen and Author of Token Economy, and Alex Bausch, chairman of 2Tokens, discuss the evolution and future of tokenization, particularly in the context of blockchain, Web3, and digital assets. Together they reflect on the progress since the early days of tokens, the complexity of updating content in books to match current developments, and the expansion of decentralized finance (DeFi) from a minor topic to a significant focus area.Shermin and Alex go deeper into how tokenization is often equated with digitalization and emphasize that it's more than just finance—it can involve various rights like voting, management, and information. They draw parallels between the early internet and current blockchain technology, noting that while the general public is still unfamiliar with Web3, its impact could be transformative once a major application (like Facebook was for the internet) emerges. The conversation touches on regulatory challenges, particularly how national laws struggle to keep up with global digital services and decentralized systems. Shermin and Alex express that regulation is often outdated, complicating the adoption of new technologies. They also discuss the potential of tokenization in various sectors, particularly finance, real-world assets, and energy, noting that while tokenizing assets is the "low-hanging fruit," the real transformative potential lies in more complex use cases. The discussion concludes with advice on how to approach token system design—starting with clear economic and social goals before addressing technical and legal aspects. This approach can help navigate the "Wild West" of the current regulatory environment more effectively.Participants:Alex Bausch: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexbausch/Shermin Voshmgir: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sherminvoshmgir/Do you want to join one of the use cases? Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”Dear Grandchildren, What a gift you all are, each unique and unrepeatable, yet united as family and sustained by love.Today I write to you about marriage and children, the Primordial or original Sacrament. This is a letter that some of you are not yet old enough to read or understand and that's OK. When you're ready this letter will be waiting. In it you will find described a timeless truth, the awe and wonder of marriage and children as it was in the beginning. The original model that, despite the effect of the sins of fallen man (men and women), is still the basic building block or cell of every human society throughout history. Furthermore, it is good to remember, despite the folly and pride of modern man who would like to think otherwise, he did not create marriage any more than he created himself. There was a time, not long before you were born, that this was obvious to everyone. You on the other hand, are growing up in an unprecedented time in human history. A time when man has redefined marriage, demanded the right to kill their own children, and can no longer define what a woman is. NOTICE! In this Podcast, Olivier Rikken (2Tokens), Meindert Jansberg (Assetblocks) and Martijn Siebrand (ABN AMRO) discuss their joint use case for the European Blockchain Sandbox. The partnership between these companies, including Rabobank, aims to legally explore the use case of tokenized financial security and stablecoin integration. Together, the goal is to bridge the gap between the physical world and the digital economy by tokenizing real assets and euro's.The existing base case presented by Assetblocks offers an unique investment opportunity by allowing individuals to invest in renewable energy sources through tracking stocks. Investors acquire tokens representing solar, wind, or battery parks, entitling them to share in the profits generated by these assets. The ownership proof comes in the form of a Non-Fungible Token (NFT), classified as a security under MiFID II regulations, ensuring compliance and investor confidence. In the mentioned sandbox setting, the joint use case aims to explore the use of stablecoins tied to Euro's or bank deposits. Both non-hosted and hosted wallets provided by banks will support these stablecoin transactions, ensuring new ways of accessibility and convenience for investors, offering new levels of accessibility and convenience for investors. Additionally, the project explores the possibility of tokenizing these assets as security tokens, compliant with EBS standards, allowing discussions on regulatory matters with EU and individual European member state frameworks. The NFTs include embedded metadata, providing crucial information about the underlying assets. Investors can verify each NFT at a detailed level, enabling them to track production and access real-time value data. To comply with regulations, investors undergo a Know Your Customer (KYC) procedure during onboarding. Once whitelisted, investors can easily purchase NFTs using Euros, with a focus on exploring payment in Euro-based stablecoins.Host: Olivier Rikken, 2TokensGuests: Meindert Jansberg, Assetblocks | https://www.linkedin.com/in/meindert-jansberg-8251481/Martijn Siebrand, ABN AMRO | https://www.linkedin.com/in/martijn-siebrand/Do you want to join one of the use cases? Travis has been a key player in developing several successful grant applications with the State of California in the last few years. His work, along with others in the City, has secured close to $20 million dollars in grant funding for our local area parks and trails. We'll talk with Travis about the exciting upgrades to Caldwell Park coming in 2022 and 2023 including the skatepark currently under construction, and other new amenities that will be coming soon like a new bike park, exercise area, shade structures and more. Christological Errors in Church History and TodayIn Lord's Day 14, Q35, we learned about the two natures in Christ, how he was, while on this earth, fully God and fully man and we saw something of the importance of maintaining and confessing this doctrine without error. In Q36, we will seek to underline and this, and to see how the two natures of Christ really matters to Christian believers, as individuals. In this bonus episode of the podcast, I just want to briefly outline some historical Christological errors, – how people have tried to explain the person of Christ, and gone astray – so that we can be aware of the dangers, many of which are still around in the modern church, and hopefully we can identify these errors and avoid them. This podcast won't be for everyone - but if you're interested in Historical Theology, or Church History, give it a go. There's no prize for making it to the end though! In Romans 16:17, Paul the apostle wrote, Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.Psalm 102:23-28 (Tune: Bedford)23 My strength he weakened in the way, My days of life he shortened. 24 My God, O take me not away In mid-time of my days, I said:Thy years throughout all ages last. 25 Of old thou hast established The earth's foundation firm and fast: Thy mighty hands the heav'ns have made.26 They perish shall, as garments do, But thou shalt evermore endure; As vestures, thou shalt change them so; And they shall all be changed sure:27 But from all changes thou art free; Thy endless years do last for aye. 28 Thy servants, and their seed who be, Established shall before thee stay.Psalm with thanks to Connor Quigley, www.ThePsalmsSung.orgRead the TRANSCRIPT HEREFind the Podcast on Gnosticism HERE Hosted on Acast. In this episode, I shared a quick eagle's eye view on dairy and how we got to a time in history where we demonize it. I truly believe dairy is a power food. And, if you can tolerate it currently you should not remove it just because some 'expert' said it's bad for x,y,z reasons or health 'conditions'. A health 'condition' does not have to be a state of permanence or something we own anyway. I share 3 keys to consider when it comes to dairy: 1. the quality of the dairy, 2. your heredity/ancestry, 3. your current state of health. Why remove an entire food group if you don't have to. Elimination doesn't heal you, nutrition does. Renourishing the body and restoring function takes time, therefore patience. Two of my favorite resources to start getting education about quality dairy, as well as the benefits of dairy are; The Weston A. Catechism Class: LD10A Q27 Nothing Happens by Chance.LD10 Q.27 What do you understand by the providence of God?A. God's providence is his almighty and ever present power, 1 whereby, as with his hand, he still upholds heaven and earth and all creatures, 2 and so governs them that leaf and blade, rain and drought, fruitful and barren years, food and drink, health and sickness, riches and poverty, 3 indeed, all things, come to us not by chance 4 but by his fatherly hand.So that's our topic for this lesson. Nothing in this world, or in your life happens by chance.Psalm 65, courtesy of Connor Quigley, www.ThePsalmsSung.orgRead the NOTES HERE. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Catechism Class - LD 7, Q24-25 The TrinityRead: Matthew 3:16-17Lord's Day 8, Q/A 24 & 25 24. How are these articles divided? Into three parts: the first is of God the Father and our creation; the second, of God the Son and our redemption; the third, of God the Holy Ghost and our sanctification.:25. Since there is but one Divine Being,(1) why do you speak of three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost? Because God. has so revealed Himself in His Word, that these three distinct persons are the one, true, eternal God. How important is the doctrine of the Trinity? Is it really worth trying to understand such a complicated matter, when really, all a person needs to be Christian is a simple child-like faith in Christ? In this podcast Bob McEvoy underlines the seriousness of failure to believe in the Holy Trinity.Psalm 99, Courtesy of Conor Quigley, www.ThePsalmsSung.orgRead the Study Guide Notes HERE. Catechism Class - Lords Day 5, Q12-15 The Greatest Escape. The Hebrews author asks, "How can we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?" What must we escape from, and how can we escape, when we are helpless in our lost human condition? We need a Rescuer, to come and save us. The catechist asks:Q.12 Since, according to God's righteous judgment we deserve temporal and eternal punishment, how can we escape this punishment and be again received into favour?Q.13 Can we by ourselves make this payment? A. Certainly not. On the contrary, we daily increase our debt. Q.14 Can any mere creature pay for us? A. No. In the first place, God will not punish another creature for the sin which man has committed. Furthermore, no mere creature can sustain the burden of God's eternal wrath against sin and deliver others from it.Q.15 Q. What kind of mediator and deliverer must we seek? A. One who is a true and righteous man, and yet more powerful than all creatures; that is, one who is at the same time true GodA Rescuer has been sent, but if we neglect his rescue mission, there is no alternative. Our rescuer is God's sinless Son, Jesus - who perfectly fulfilled all the requirements, - The ONLY true and righteous Man - one who is at the same time true God. In this episode of FORWARD, Nate and I talk about the "gift of choice" and our inherent ability to find light and move forward."One of the things that I really find fascinating is that FINDING light is not the necessary piece. The act of LOOKING for light—THAT'S when the change has already happened. Just the fact that I'm LOOKING for light changes my heart. An interview with Prof. Michael Reeves, President and Professor of Theology at Union School of Theology, UK. Author of books such as The Unquenchable Flame. Discovering the Heart of the Reformation (2010) and (with Tim Chester), Why The Reformation Still Matters (2016).On October 31, 1999, the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutheran World Federation signed ‘The Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification' (JDDJ), claiming that they were ‘now able to articulate a common understanding of our justification by God's grace through faith in Christ.' This has led many since to think that the fundamental theological differences of the Reformation have now been resolved, and that there remains little or nothing of real theological substance to prevent evangelical-Catholic unity. Professor Mark Noll, for instance, boldly declared,If it is true, as once was repeated frequently by Protestants conscious of their anchorage in Martin Luther or John Calvin that iustificatio articulus stantis vel cadentis ecclesiae (justification is the article on which the church stands or falls), then the Reformation is over.Is the Reformation indeed, over?
