There are no shortage of scandals plaguing Washington D.C. right now. One that has captivated much of the political and media professions involves Olivia Nuzzi, a political writer formerly of the magazine New York, and now an editor with Vanity Fair, who was involved in a relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during the 2024 campaign. Nuzzi's relationship has provided incredible fodder for the press, not least because her ex-fiance, Ryan Lizza, has penned a multi-part series on the matter where he has unspooled numerous accusations against her and RFK Jr., in anticipation of the publication of Nuzzi's book, American Canto, which was released Tuesday. Those accusations are quite serious, many of which Nuzzi addresses in her book, including an admission that she secretly aided RFK Jr.'s campaign. The more important ones, however, deal with RFK Jr. himself, including the charge that he has hid drug use and was both manipulative of and threatening to Nuzzi during their relationship. Nuzzi has not discussed any of it on camera. Until now. In a sit down interview with Tim Miller, she talked about the ethical breaches that cost her her job, the conflict between her responsibilities as a reporter, the private relationship that blurred those boundaries, and the fear and isolation she experienced as the scandal unfolded. She describes withdrawing from the world, fleeing across the country, and trying to rebuild her sense of self while contending with public shaming and, what she saw as, the “weaponization” of her personal life against her. She also offers some insights and revelations regarding the now Health and Human Service secretary, who has denied the relationship. She and Tim discuss her relationship with RFK Jr. and the wreckage that followed, whether he continues to use drugs while occupying a cabinet post, what type of threats she felt, and why she didn't feel compelled to speak up as it became clear that Kennedy was ascending to remarkable heights of political power. They also discuss the broader political moment that shaped all of it: the Trump era's constant tug between reality and spectacle, the corrosion of public trust, and the ways journalists become characters in the dramas they cover. And they broach one of the more understated questions throughout this entire, sordid ordeal: why even bother writing this book to begin with? Nuzzi explains that writing was an act of survival and the clarity that came from separating herself from Washington, D.C.'s rituals and delusions. He explains that in 2019, 99% of natural health information was removed from Google, essentially overnight!The Center for Countering Digital Hate is a small organization that claims to work at stopping online hate and misinformation. This group out of the UK influences a large population in the US, and has targeted those advocating for parental rights, medical choice, and religious freedom. They've characterized the advocates of these principles as dangerous, irresponsible, and even violent in an attempt to deplatform and demonetize their opposition. All of Sayer Ji's alternative health solutions were removed from the internet. Even information on sunlight and walking, natural health tips that are hardly controversial. They use manipulation of words like drug, disease, and heal to try to criminalize natural health and increase censorship in health information that challenges the status quo. Sayer Ji has conducted extensive research on the Merck Manual, first published in 1899. It was full of natural health remedies! Fortunately, Sayer Ji's accounts were restored, and he was essentially replatformed with a formal apology.People want alternative health solutions! They want lifestyle changes instead of a polypharmacy of drugs. Sayer Ji explains that there has been a significant increase in people advocating for bodily sovereignty, embracing natural healing, and making lifestyle changes on a large scale.As pharmaceutical companies continue to lose trust, they've resorted to hiring social media influencers to try to regain it. Today's Headlines: A CIA-trained Afghan asylum recipient shot two National Guard members in DC—one fatally—prompting Trump to announce (on his little app) a “pause” on all migration from “third world countries”. The administration is now freezing asylum and Afghan visas while somehow avoiding the question of why the National Guard is still posted in DC at all. Meanwhile, the Trump team is escalating its hunt for “sedition,” with the FBI now interviewing the six Democratic veterans who reminded troops not to follow illegal orders. And in the Department of Defense (War), Pete Hegseth allegedly ordered a second strike to kill survivors of a botched boat attack—something even a few Senate Republicans have decided is maybe a bridge too far. Trump also pardoned former Honduran president and convicted drug trafficker Juan Orlando Hernández, who immediately went home like it was checkout time at Club Fed. On the Ukraine front, Rubio, Kushner, and Steve Witkoff are still trying to spin their “peace plan,” which reporting suggests was always just a giant business deal in disguise. Is autism really on the rise? It seems so, but some people say it's just that we're detecting it better these days -- although that doesn't seem to account for the severe cases, which are also supposed to be on the rise. If it is on the rise, why? Is it something we're eating, something we're injecting into our bodies, or maybe the way we're cooking? What do we do with all the anecdotal evidence from parents that their child's autism came on suddenly? It seems as if the health establishment is not taking this as seriously as they ought to be.

AND NOW MARGE GREENE is out, and Laura Loomer is asking 'why bother to vote next year?' and Charles Gasparino is saying the wheels are off the Trump presidency and even the MAGAs think Trump has gone nuts and it's over. It's not - but it's nice to watch them squirm. Plus the Kash Patel/Girlfriend/SWAT team fiasco and even the Ukraine proposal literally written in Russian by Russians has embarrassed them.
