In this episode of Wisdom of the Sages, Raghunath and Kaustubha unpack a controversial passage from the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam — the ancient Sanskrit text of Vedic wisdom centered on Krishna and the path of Bhakti Yoga. The story describes Krishna interacting with the gopīs of Vrindavan — the cowherd women whose consciousness was completely absorbed in devotion to Him. At first glance the scene appears morally troubling, but the sages explain that it reveals a deeper spiritual principle: divine love exists beyond ordinary moral frameworks. Along the way the discussion moves between the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, the Bhagavad Gita, Shakespeare, and classic jazz love songs, showing how even great romantic lyrics can echo the bhakti insight that the deepest love longs to give everything. In Bhakti Yoga this is called ātma-nivedanam, the complete offering of oneself to the Divine — and when devotion reaches that level, Krishna reciprocates and awakens the soul's highest consciousness. ******************************************************************** LOVE THE PODCAST? Today we're talking about the moral panic around “transvestigation,” an online “game” where people try to identify who is or isn't trans. Particularly popular in right-wing corners of the internet, transvestigating is a subculture of people — with no background in biology at all — who analyze photos, facial features, and body proportions to “prove” their claims, that basically every celebrity is secretly trans. Kitty Kimz and Jeff from Free Country USA join us once again to trace the surprising early origins of this conspiratorial thinking about trans identities and how it's continued to permeate culture on the internet and beyond. Our guests Kitty Kimz & Jeff host Free Country USA, a podcast you can find on YouTube @freecountrypod, Instagram @freecountrypodusa, and everywhere else you listen or watch pods. Send a textFamilies with trans and non-binary kids are facing bans on bathroom use, bans on sports participation, bans on affirming pronoun use in schools, bans on use of chosen names, and even bans on life-saving medical care for their trans children. Those of us with trans family members find ourselves in, what often feels like, an impossible situation of trying to figure out how we can possibly protect our children from the worst of the harm. Some families are considering moving states, or even leaving the United States, to escape anti-trans legislation and to seek safer, more supportive environments for their children. Today In the Den, we're hosting a conversation with Suzy and Debi, two moms with families who have done just that–picked up and moved countries in order to access gender affirming care, safety in schools, and to find a less overall hostile climate for their queer children. Special Guest: Suzanne SolomonSuzanne Solomon, her husband, and their son, lived in the Dallas area of Texas, where she was a professional opera singer. She has joined protests from the Women's March to Black Lives Matter to Pride and more, participated in letter writing campaigns, called representatives, campaigned for Beto O'Rourke, attended ACLU of Texas events to help counter proposed legislation. Mama Dragons has been a huge resource, and a source of comfort and community. Getting out of the country is incredibly difficult and expensive, and the Solomons owe a lot to family, fellow US emigrants, and friends who helped them check every box on their journey from the US to Finland.Special Guest: Debi JacksonDebi is a longtime advocate for transgender youth and LGBTQ+ inclusion, known for her compassionate storytelling and public education efforts. She became an activist in 2014 when a speech about her child Avery's gender journey went viral, and she's been speaking out ever since to help other families feel less alone. Avery later appeared on the cover of National Geographic's “Gender Revolution” issue — an iconic moment that brought global visibility but also intense backlash. In response to the growing wave of anti-trans legislation and public hostility in the U.S., Debi and her family made the difficult decision to move to Europe. Now, she shares her experiences as a parent, advocate, and expat to highlight the real-life impact of transphobia and the importance of finding and building affirming community wherever you are.Links from the Show: Anne HealthGender GPTransgender MapMexico Transgender CenterDebi's WebsiteJoin Mama Dragons todayIn the Den is made possible by generous donors like you. Growing up near Boston, Sugar discovered hiking in her early twenties while exploring the White Mountains of New Hampshire. After getting sober at 30, she found herself with the clarity, time and capacity to pursue the life she truly wanted. What followed was a decision to live authentically, prioritise long-distance hiking, and become what she proudly calls a professional dirtbag. In 2021, Sugar set out on the Appalachian Trail. While she knew she was a strong hiker, she also faced the uncertainty of what it would mean to walk the trail as a trans woman. Feeling the isolation of not seeing many stories like her own pushed her to begin writing, speaking openly, and becoming someone other queer and trans hikers could reach out to. Since then, she has become the first known trans woman to complete the Triple Crown of long-distance hiking, founded TrailQTs – a free mentoring programme supporting first-time queer and trans thru-hikers – and in 2024 pioneered the Divide to Crest Route, a 3,000-mile backcountry journey from the Mexican border in New Mexico to the Canadian border in Washington. In 2025, Sugar set a new women's self-supported speed record on the Appalachian Trail southbound, breaking the previous record by more than a day and a half. In this episode, we dive into sobriety, transition, representation, burnout, post-trail blues, building community, and what it really takes to push the body day after day. Sugar also shares practical advice on training, fuelling on a budget, protecting your feet, and why big dreams are built through small, steady steps. This is a conversation about courage, visibility, and creating the path you wish had existed when you started. *** New episodes of the Tough Girl Podcast drop every Tuesday at 7 AM (UK time). Escuchar audio

In this episode, I sat down with Tobias and Jess to discuss their special issue of Studies in Gender & Sexuality: “Cisteria!: A Psychoanalysis Against Anti-Trans Panics.” This issue is the first of its kind, bringing together twelve trans and gender-expansive authors (artists, clinicians, scholars, and writers across multiple geographies) to theorize cisteria. This is our reworked concept that flips the long history of psychoanalytic hysteria and examines how cis anxieties are projected onto trans lives at psychical, interpersonal, and political levels. Joe Rogan isn’t a “movement conservative,” but every now and then he cuts straight through the propaganda — and this Steve-O exchange is one of those moments. In this clip, Rogan shuts down the emotional blackmail, calls out the bathroom myths, and drops a brutal truth the media avoids: predators exploit loopholes. Then we follow the thread into politics and public schools, where activists push radical sexual ideology on kids. Culture is upstream from politics… and it’s happening fast. President Donald Trump addressed the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, defending the military campaign as necessary to prevent a larger nuclear threat and asserting that Iran's air force, navy, and missile capabilities have been largely "knocked out." He denied claims that Israel, under Netanyahu, forced the U.S. into the war, instead claiming that "if anything, I might have forced Israel's hand" because he believed Iran was preparing to attack first amid failed negotiations. In a key moment, Trump announced new strikes targeting Iranian leadership and speculated on post-regime possibilities, noting that many potential moderate successors "are dead" after the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He also threatened to cut off all trade ties with Spain, calling the country "terrible" and "unfriendly" for refusing to allow U.S. use of its military bases. Overall, Trump portrayed Operation Epic Fury as progressing ahead of schedule, while the conflict widened with Iranian retaliatory strikes on Gulf targets and U.S. pledges to escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Flowing from the idea that children need to express themselves online to form an identity, video game avatars serve as an introductory and primary portal for this. The cosmetic economy of avatar customization generates billions in revenue for game makers, while users pay and play their way into discovering their identity. The ability to customize your appearance in the game isn’t just a fun feature. As we reveal in this episode, avatar customization can shape children’s real-world identities. But identities are not created or curated – they are given by God. This is one more way video games disciple children away from the gospel and into a self-above-all-else, unbiblical worldview. Listen in as we inform and equip parents to know about and act against this unseen evil. In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, brought to you by Topo Athletic, myself, along with Jabba, Jolly, and Jess are giving you a rundown of our recent hike of the San Diego Trans County Trail. And this one is about as long as the trail itself, as we give a detailed daily overview of our hike, including the standout LOL stories, the biggest challenges associated with this trail - namely the amount of private land the route takes you though, the highlights- including some gorgeous desert terrain, an epic western terminus, and how our torrid hiking pace and some mismanaged fueling lead to the on-trail demise of our beloved Sassafras. Buckle in. We wrap the show with the triple crown of jobs if money weren't an issue and whether a 30-second random drop in the ocean every day for 5 years is worth a $100 million. Send a textWe doubt anyone listening to this podcast will be surprised to hear that transgender folks face unique challenges, including social stigma, bullying, and family rejection. Even if we are doing our best as parents to support and love our trans children, most of us are not trans ourselves, and so we can't fully understand the particular difficulties that our children will face in their lives. And that is where organizations like Trans Mentor Project come in. Trans Mentor Project is a national virtual mentoring program that pairs trans/nonbinary mentees with trans/nonbinary adult mentors. Joining us In the Den from TMP are Kyle and Max. Max is currently a mentor with TMP and Kyle has been part of TMP as both a mentee and an intern. Together, they'll be able to tell us more about the program and how we can help get our trans kiddos involved.Special Guest: KyleKyle is a designer and creative strategist whose work centers storytelling and critical inquiry. With a background in education, arts-based research, and trauma-aware peer support, Kyle designs experiences that cultivate connection, expression, and shared meaning. At TMP, Kyle helps shape programs and strategies that empower trans young people—designing zines and community experiences that center their voices, and leading outreach efforts across Southern California. At his core, Kyle is building worlds where people feel valued, welcomed, and free to be who they are.Special Guest: MaxMax is a multidisciplinary theatre artist living in New York City. He has mentored with TMP since 2023. He frequently volunteers with PFLAG NYC's Safe Schools program, visiting middle and high school classes throughout the city to speak about his personal identity as a gay trans man, combat anti-trans disinformation, and promote safety and inclusion in NYC schools. Max is also one half of the producing team behind "Let's Hear It For the Boys: A Transmasc Cabaret," an annual variety show which features an entirely transmasculine and trans man cast, band, creative team and ASL interpreter team and showcases new work by transmasc writers.Links from the Show:Learn More About TMPSubmit art for zines by emailing TMPJoin Mama Dragons TodayIn the Den is made possible by generous donors like you. Hillary Clinton's closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee on Jeffrey Epstein produced zero new information, as she repeatedly denied ever meeting Epstein, having any connection to him, or knowing about his crimes. Despite over six hours of questioning, her answers stayed limited to blanket denials like "I never met Jeffrey Epstein" and "I had no idea about their criminal activities," offering nothing substantive to advance the probe into elite accountability. Critics see this as classic evasion, with Clinton dismissing the entire session as repetitive "political theater" designed to distract from others like President Trump rather than uncover truth for victims. It was a tough day for transgenders in Kansas and Missouri and the freakout is pretty funny to watch. About 1000 Kansans may have to change one letter on their drivers license under a new law that is in place but won't really even be enforced... at least for a while. My god, what has the world come to. So triggering. And in Missouri, the House passes a law that the overwhelming majority of Americans support as they aim to make it illegal for boys to play in girls sports. Oh, the humanity. A St. Louis tv station reports one of the greatest stories every as it appears most Missouri police departments are working with ICE and turning over illegals when they commit a crime. Wait until you hear what the reporter learned about incentives for those departments to cooperate. The World Cup has a Mexico problem as there are 22 mass graves in and around Guadalajara. In the first four they've dug out, they have found over 500 body bags from cartel violence. There are 130,000 "disappeared" people in Mexico and ALL are presumed dead at the hands of cartels. Are they really playing soccer there? Jac Caglione and Carter Jensen have a monster day for the Royals in Arizona. If these guys are good this year.... watch out. The Royals will be hard to beat. Hall of Fame golfer Tom Watson and the staff at www.watsonlinks.org announce the cities and states this program will be offered to junior golfers has tripled... amazing. A golfer at a tournament in South Africa nearly dies... but not on the course. You have to hear this crazy story of a two time winner that is lucky to be alive. And our Final Final is quite a joke from the folks at the Tampa airport.

Why is it that the anti-trans movement is so ferociously set on upending the livelihood of people who are simply trying to live their lives? As it turns out, it's because it's part of a larger playbook to dismantle civil rights as we know them. Paisley Currah is a Professor of Political Science and Women's and Gender Studies at Brooklyn College and the CUNY Graduate Center, the author of Sex Is as Sex Does: Governing Transgender Identity, and the writer of an essential new essay in the New York Review Books titled The Anti-Trans Playbook. Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday 3 Martini Lunch as they dissect President Trump making the Democrats look heartless and crazy in their refusal to applaud almost anything, Trump's reluctance to pursue an aggressive legislative agenda this year, Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger's forgettable rebuttal to Trump's speech, and the truly insane event Dems put on during the speech.First, they explain what they liked about the speech, including Trump exposing that Democrats oppose the protection of citizens over illegal aliens and or stopping schools or local governments from transitioning minors without the knowledge or consent of parents. Democrats also refused to clap for families traumatized by violent crime and even seemed pretty unenthused about the Olympic champion hockey team. Talk about an own goal!Next, they scratch their heads at news that President Trump doesn't want to pursue another reconciliation bill in Congress this year to pass more GOP fiscal priorities while Republicans still hold majorities on both sides of Capitol Hill. Jim and Greg urge him to reconsider and point to the value such an agenda would have on the midterms. Finally, they pan the Democrats' rebuttal delivered by Gov. Spanberger, noting what they see as hypocrisy on some issues and incoherence on others. They also highlight the thoroughly bizarre event lefties ran in opposition to the State of the Union. Please visit our great sponsors:Take your personal data back with Incogni—use code 3ML for 60% off an annual plan at https://Incogni.com/3MLLive better, longer with BUBS Naturals.
