In this gripping episode, Joe is joined by Father Andre Mahanna to confront what they describe as a profound spiritual and cultural crisis facing Western civilization. Together, they analyze the complex geopolitical pressures reshaping modern societies, examining institutional vulnerabilities and the systemic challenges surrounding immigration and cultural assimilation. Drawing on recent controversial headlines and legal decisions out of the United Kingdom, the discussion pulls no punches in examining how current policy directions are impacting the foundational fabric of Western nations. The conversation shifts closer to home, diving deep into the intensifying domestic debate over demographic trends and legal precedents in the United States. Joe and Father Mahanna break down the friction surrounding recent high-court developments on birthright citizenship, exploring the historical intent of constitutional frameworks versus their modern applications. Featuring perspectives on recent Supreme Court discussions and reactions from prominent political figures, this segment tackles critical questions of national security, sovereignty, and the future of the American legal system. Finally, the episode turns a vital spotlight onto an urgent and frequently overlooked global humanitarian crisis: the severe escalation of persecution against Christian communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Examining recent harrowing reports and data emerging from Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joe and Father Mahanna expose the harsh realities of modern conflict and human rights abuses occurring on the world stage. This is a heavy-hitting, essential broadcast that connects disparate global headlines into a singular, urgent call to awareness regarding the global struggle for faith and freedom.

The U.S. Supreme Court has affirmed that virtually all babies born in the United States are citizens, regardless of their parents' immigration status. They explore why allies failed to rally around the United States, how the Strait of Hormuz became a political weapon, and why both ends of the political spectrum increasingly argue that America itself is the problem. In the grand scheme of things, Lyme disease is a fairly new scientific discovery. It was first traced back to ticks in the late 70s and early 80s. The tick-borne illness can cause a rash, fever, pain, neurological complications, and even facial paralysis. It's spread by only two of the nearly 50 species of ticks in the United States. Historically, most Lyme cases were limited to a small region, including the Great Lakes area and northeastern US. But thanks to changing temperatures, animal migration and shifts in land use, scientists say tick territory is expanding. So what does that mean for Lyme disease risk? And do you have to be worried about it in your own backyard?Interested in more episodes about pests and parasites? Maria has built nearly $500K in net worth, a strong pension, and a clear path toward retirement. Andre, who moved from Brazil and only recently received his green card, is rebuilding his career in the United States with just $16K saved for retirement. They earn around $187K a year combined, but their financial tension is not really about the numbers. Andre feels ashamed that Maria earns twice what he does, while Maria worries that she will have to carry their future alone. We’ve all been told the American Revolution was fought over taxation and representation. But that's not what the Declaration of Independence says. According to our founders, in their own words, what they were most upset about was Native Americans. How did we all miss that? Rebecca sits down with historian Ned Blackhawk (Western Shoshone) to talk about how hunger for Indigenous land drove the Revolution. Find more episodes of First America wherever you get podcasts. His rise to fame was inspired, and for a while, his power was almost unstoppable, until one man on a crusade took it upon himself to prove otherwise. Love Island USA Daily June 29, 2026 Love Island USA's season 8, episode 24 delivers a slow-burn of shifting loyalties, tense confrontations, and cracks forming in once-solid couples. Kirsten MacInnis breaks down how the aftermath of Casa Amor sets the stage for the highly anticipated movie night, as new and old connections are put to the test. With couples settling, shifting, and combusting, the villa's social order is fragile and full of surprises. This episode covers Carl's and Amora's returns to the villa and how their presence shakes up existing dynamics. Kirsten gives a play-by-play of Carl's attempt to balance self-respect and vulnerability as he reconnects with Aniya, while KC's efforts to explain his actions to Aniya spiral into an awkward apology. The fallout from Sincere's mixed honesty exposes tensions not just between him and Amora, but also brings Melanie into uncomfortable territory about respect and transparency. With couple after couple, like Bryce and Trinity, and Corbin and Parmida, quickly closing off, the rest of the villa's singles are left to navigate choppy waters and question their own strategies. Highlights include: Carl's calculated approach to rebuilding trust with Aniya, resisting the urge to be a “pick me” while setting clear boundaries Sincere's partial confessions regarding his Casa Amor behavior and the resulting unrest with Amora and Melanie Kenzie's romantic dilemma as she finds herself caught between Dylan and Gal, leading to sneaky conversations and a controversial kiss Jen and Gal's incompatible communication styles, resulting in a breakup before their relationship can truly begin Bryce and Trinity's rapid progression from closed off to officially boyfriend and girlfriend, breaking traditional Love Island pacing With movie night looming, how will the hidden truths and villa gossip impact the couples' standings? Can Carl and Aniya rebuild, or will KC's actions come back to haunt him? Don't miss this episode for a detailed breakdown of shifting alliances and the drama brewing before the next big reveal. This week, Jason is joined by professional soccer player, FC Dallas defender, US Men's National Team player, Gold Cup champion, World Cup participant, and founder of the Shaq Moore Foundation, Shaq Moore, for a conversation about the business of professional soccer, the financial realities of playing overseas, World Cup pressure, MLS salaries, and building a lasting career in a sport that continues to grow in the United States. Shaq reflects on realizing at a young age that soccer could become his career, and how attending the 2010 World Cup helped fully shift his focus back to the sport. With a father who also played professionally, Shaq grew up around the game, but his path was far from traditional. As a teenager, he left the United States to pursue his dream in Spain, where he spent years grinding through lower divisions, learning the language, and fighting for every opportunity. Jason and Shaq dive into the financial side of that journey, including what it was like earning roughly 800 to 900 euros per month early in his career, dealing with teams that went months without paying players, and learning how to live on a budget while chasing a professional dream. Shaq opens up about the uncertainty of playing overseas, the role agents play in protecting young athletes, and why those difficult early years shaped him both personally and professionally. Shaq also breaks down how soccer contracts work, including transfer fees, buyout clauses, bonuses, incentives, and what it means when a player is sent on loan. He explains the business behind his move back to MLS, his reported transfer to Nashville SC, and how returning to the United States helped position him for a potential World Cup opportunity. The conversation also explores Shaq's experience with the US Men's National Team, from winning the Gold Cup and scoring the fastest goal in USMNT history to getting called into a World Cup qualifying window while vacationing on an island. Shaq shares what it was like being thrown into one of the most important games of qualifying, eventually making the 2022 World Cup roster, and playing against England and Iran on the world stage. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Jason and Shaq discuss the state of the US team, the pressure of playing on home soil, World Cup ticket prices, player bonuses, endorsements, and how making a World Cup roster can change an athlete's brand and financial future. Shaq also gives his thoughts on the US group, possible contenders, and what it is really like playing against Lionel Messi. Beyond the field, Shaq opens up about financial planning as a professional athlete, budgeting for a career with an uncertain shelf life, working with a financial advisor, investing for the future, and learning from the stories of athletes who made millions but struggled after their playing careers ended. Shaq also shares the work he is doing through the Shaq Moore Foundation, including youth soccer clinics, food drives, community initiatives, and opportunities for kids in Fort Lauderdale and Trinidad and Tobago. He reflects on fatherhood, life in Dallas, future coaching goals, and the importance of staying grounded through every stage of the journey. From grinding in Spain for less than $1,000 a month to representing the United States on the World Cup stage, Shaq reveals what it really takes to stay the course, survive setbacks, and build a career in professional soccer. With Grand Theft Auto VI finally launching this November, we've been left without a key piece of information: Its price. Conjecture and prognostication has run rampant, but now we have confirmation that GTA6's base cost is $80 in the United States, with a $100 version offering players some perks and unlocks. With our long-awaited trip down to Leonida drawing closer on the horizon, we've much to discuss, including our hype level, whether we'll buy the base or special edition, the lack of a real physical version, and -- perhaps most intriguingly -- no new trailer or gameplay videos to help sell a product that (let's be honest) probably doesn't need much help to begin with. Other news this week includes significant layoffs at Sony-owned Bungie, indications that God of War: Laufey may launch as early as Q1 2027, more delisted shovelware tripe removed from PlayStation Store, executive-level issues at FromSoft, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! What's with Steam Machine's absurd price? Should Sony look to invest in any of Xbox's distressed assets? Why did PlayStation even bother publishing Midnight Murder Club if they were only going to ignore it? Will Chris and Colin one day have their shared ex-psychiatrist on the show to discuss our many mental ailments? There was a time in America when shipping a dead body by railroad was as routine as sending a trunk of luggage... until somebody misplaced the coffin. In this episode of The Box of Oddities, Kat and Jethro uncover the strange and surprisingly common history of America's "silent passengers"—human remains transported across the country by rail. Discover the newspaper stories of lost coffins, bodies sent to the wrong families, funeral trains delayed by storms, and the unsettling realities of moving the dead before modern embalming. It's a forgotten chapter of railroad history that's equal parts fascinating, unsettling, and absurd. Then Kat takes a detour into one of history's lighter mysteries: Why is Connecticut called the Nutmeg State? Did crafty merchants really sell fake wooden nutmegs? Along the way, you'll discover the surprising origins of state nicknames like the Tar Heel State, the Sooner State, the Badger State, and more—revealing how folklore, history, commerce, and a little creative marketing shaped the identities of the United States. If you love forgotten history, strange true stories, bizarre Americana, railroad oddities, unusual facts, and conversations that wander gloriously off the rails, you've found your people. Because sometimes the weirdest journey... begins after the passengers stop breathing. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Fragility of the Union and the Dismantling of the Republic. Guests in Londinium, 92 AD: Gaius and Germanicus. Reflecting on the anniversary of Gettysburg, the speakers suggest that the "sacred" unity and mission established by Lincoln and later reinforced by D-Day are being abandoned. The current leadership is depicted as "whipsawed" between a desire to be a "peace president" and the political risk of appearing defeated on the world stage. The "imperial court" in Washington is described as oblivious to the citizenry, continuing foreign adventures despite widespread domestic opposition. Ultimately, Gaius and Germanicus posit that the United States is an arbitrary construct now in the process of being "dismantled" by endless political warfare and a growing disconnect between the leadership and the people.

STREAMING THE MAKING OF THE JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW, FEATURING BILL ROGGIO, HUSAIN HAQQANI, JAANATYN SAYEH, 6-29-26.1787 PERSIAThis transcript from the John Bachelor Show explores the volatile ceasefire and memorandum of understandingbetween the United States and Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Experts Hussein Hakani, Bill Roggio, and Jonathan Sayeh analyze how the tit-for-tat military exchanges have effectively granted Iran greater control over the waterway, contradicting President Trump's claims of a successful resolution. The discussion highlights concerns from Gulf Cooperation Council nations who feel excluded from negotiations and fear that the underlying nuclear and proxy threats remain unaddressed. Furthermore, the sources argue that the Iranian regime's internal stability and ideological goals have not shifted despite leadership changes or recent air campaigns. The panelists conclude that the current diplomatic framework acts as a temporary distraction rather than a substantive solution to regional instability.

The Nation in Arms and the Decline into the Imperial Model. Guests in Londinium, 92 AD: Gaius and Germanicus. The speakers contrast the historical "American way of war" with its modern imperial iteration. From the Civil Warthrough World War II, war was a "religious crusading war" requiring total national mobilization and immense sacrifice, as seen in the 600,000 dead during the Civil War—"missionary moments" intended to redeem humanity. Following the Vietnam War, Germanicus argues, the United States transitioned to an all-volunteer force effectively "owned" by the executive branch, with modern wars becoming "detached from American participation" and functioning as "performative" or elective surgeries based on the whim of the "emperor." The bond between the citizenry and the sacrifice of war, once sacred, has been severed.1819

In this pre-July 4th episode of the Derek Hunter Podcast, Dean Karayanis kicks off the celebration of America's 250th anniversary by taking aim at the media's determination to paint the U.S. as a dystopia. Despite negative narratives and travel warnings, international tourists visiting for the World Cup are flooding social media with praise for American life — right down to our air conditioning, Buc-ee's, and Bass Pro Shops. Dean breaks down the condescending media coverage from The New York Times and Politico that report Democrats are deeply uncomfortable with foreign visitors actually enjoying the United States. The monologue transitions to international relations and immigration policy following a Supreme Court ruling on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians and other foreign nationals. Dean criticizes the media's framing of the Iranian national soccer team's elimination and calls out establishment figures like Mike DeWine and John Kasich for condescending, racist portrayals of Haitians, along with comparisons to the strict border enforcement policies of the Dominican Republic and Canada. Finally, drawing from his latest column in the New York Sun, Dean looks back at economic history to debunk Pope Leo's declaration of food as “a basic human right.” By revisiting Governor William Bradford's diaries, he explains how even the deeply pious Pilgrims at Plymouth Colony tried and quickly abandoned collectivism because it fundamentally goes against human nature. Dean closes with a patriotic reminder of the patriots who won the nation's independence — including 25% of Americans at the Battle of Yorktown who were Black — and issues a call to celebrate the American experiment.

The Devil's Ledger — Week of June 30, 2026 This week on The Devil's Ledger, we celebrate the spirit of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as the United States, Canada, and Mexico continue welcoming the world with open arms. Amid months of political division, it's been refreshing to see communities across North America reminding us why sports have a unique way of bringing people together. From packed stadiums to neighborhood watch parties, hospitality has taken center stage—and yes, maybe ranch dressing deserves a little credit too. We begin, as always, with The Creepiest Thing I Heard This Week. This week we travel to Montreal's historic Griffintown, where ghost hunters, historians, and curious locals gathered on June 27 to await the legendary return of Headless Mary Gallagher. Murdered and decapitated in 1879, local folklore claims Mary's spirit returns every seven years on the anniversary of her death, wandering the streets in search of the head she lost nearly 150 years ago. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, it's a haunting reminder that some stories refuse to die. On The Devil Within, our Campfire Files series continues with one of our most believable paranormal stories yet. Four college friends rent an Airbnb cabin for a relaxing weekend in the mountains and discover what appears to be an ordinary board game left behind by a previous guest. The only problem? It's a Ouija Board. What begins as harmless curiosity slowly transforms into something unsettling, proving that sometimes the scariest stories aren't the loudest—they're the ones that feel like they could happen to anyone. On Criminal Mischief, Carolyn Ossorio is keeping this week's case a complete secret. Is she racing to meet another impossible deadline? Or has she uncovered a story so disturbing she wants listeners to experience it with fresh ears? We honestly don't know—but knowing Carolyn, it could very well be both. Tune in and find out. On The Slippery, Scott Eldridge and Nancy Moscatiello unravel the extraordinary story of Gaurav Srivastava, a man who convinced world leaders, celebrities, and business executives that he had been recruited by the CIA as a teenager. His elaborate intelligence persona opened doors across the global oil industry—until investigators began asking difficult questions. It's a remarkable story of deception, influence, and one of the most audacious confidence schemes in recent memory. On Forever Young, Dr. John Layke and Dr. Payman Danielpour explore the rapidly evolving world of regenerative medicine, separating science from hype as they discuss how stem cell therapies may reshape healthcare in the years ahead. If you're interested in living healthier and longer, this is an episode you won't want to miss. Finally, in This Week in Horror, we revisit the return of Scary Movie. More than twenty years after the original became a comedy phenomenon, the franchise is back with another round of outrageous horror parody, proving that even today's most terrifying films aren't safe from a good laugh.
