After his win in a $127,000 allowance at Ellis Park, he would only compete at the stakes level. His first black type start was in graded stakes company winning the G3 Manila S. at Belmont Park, defeating a deep field consisting entirely of graded stakes winners and stakes winners. He followed up that victory with a third in the G2 National Museum Racing Hall of Fame S., behind eventual G1 winner Carl Spackler (IRE).
