In this eye-opening episode of the Wild Health Podcast, Dr. Carl Seeger talks with Dr. Julie Siemers—a nurse leader, patient safety consultant, and bestselling author of Surviving Your Hospital Stay. Drawing on 40+ years in healthcare, Dr. Siemers discusses how communication breakdowns, misdiagnoses, medication errors, and lack of patient advocacy continue to threaten safety in hospitals. Listeners will learn crucial, actionable tips: from checking hospital safety scores to speaking up using her "Three P's" (Be Present, Be Polite, Be Persistent) and “CUS” words (Concerned, Uncomfortable, Scared, Safety). Whether you're a patient, caregiver, or clinician, this conversation reveals how being informed and assertive can save lives.
Medical errors rank as the third leading cause of death in the United States, following heart disease and cancer. These preventable mistakes, including misdiagnoses, medication errors, and communication breakdowns, contribute to a significant number of fatalities annually. Understanding these risks and actively participating in one's healthcare is crucial and can be a matter of life and death. The Reality of Medical Errors Julie Siemers, a nurse with over forty years of healthcare experience, gained firsthand insight into medical errors when her parents were in an airplane accident and she had to advocate for their care from a distance. This personal experience, along with her nursing background, inspired her to pursue advanced degrees focusing on patient safety. Her research revealed that despite growing awareness, medical errors remain a persistent problem. Understanding and Preventing Errors Hospital safety varies considerably, and it's important to know that hospitals receive safety grades based on patient outcomes and risk factors. Websites like hospitalsafetygrade.org allow individuals to check these ratings, which range from A to F and assess 22 safety categories, including preventable blood clots and post-surgical complications. Early warning signs of medical distress often appear hours before a major event occurs. Physiological indicators of deterioration can be evident 6 to 24 hours before a crisis. Family members can play a critical role by observing behavioral or neurological changes that healthcare providers might miss. For example, a stroke patient with a feeding tube should never have their bed laid flat due to the increased risk of aspiration pneumonia. Medical misdiagnoses are more common than many realize, with studies suggesting that 33% of emergency room diagnoses are either incorrect or missed.. It is essential for patients to always follow up on test results and seek second opinions, especially for significant diagnoses. While individual errors happen, many medical errors are due to systemic failures. The case of nurse RaDonda Vaught, who administered the wrong medication due to hospital system flaws, illustrates this. Investigations uncovered multiple hospital errors, including malfunctioning medication cabinets that bypassed safety measures. Alarmingly, communication breakdowns, whether between healthcare providers or between medical teams and patients, contribute to 70% of patient harm cases. Informed patients tend to have better outcomes. The case of a man with undiagnosed sleep apnea who died from respiratory depression after being given opioids post-surgery highlights the importance of knowing one's medical history and potential drug interactions. Patients should question, research, and advocate for their well-being. Wrong-site surgeries, although seemingly unthinkable, occur about 20 times per week in the U.S.. Patients should actively confirm the correct procedure with their surgeons before entering the operating room. Artificial intelligence (AI) is being implemented in medical diagnostics, particularly in radiology, to improve diagnostic accuracy by identifying abnormalities. However, AI is not infallible and can produce errors, making human oversight essential. Clear communication is a fundamental way to prevent medical errors. Family members should attend doctor visits, take notes, and ask clarifying questions. The “3 P's” approach can be helpful: Be Present during key discussions and hospital rounds. Be Polite, as healthcare interactions can be stressful for both parties. Be Persistent if concerns are not addressed, escalating to higher authorities if necessary. Discussing wishes with family and completing legal documents like power of attorney can ensure personal healthcare decisions are respected. The healthcare system faces challenges with a nursing shortage and declining competency levels, which can impact patient safety. Studies have shown a decrease in the percentage of new nurses deemed practice-ready. High patient loads and burnout contribute to nurses leaving the profession. Taking Control of Your Healthcare Like a ship captain navigating a journey, the doctor provides the map, but the patient ultimately steers the course. Building a network of informed individuals can empower patients to make the best choices for their health and longevity. The reality of medical errors as the third leading cause of death underscores that staying informed and advocating for oneself in the healthcare system is not just important—it's lifesaving. In this podcast, you will learn... Why medical errors are the third leading cause of death The importance of being proactive in your healthcare Strategies for effective communication with healthcare providers How hospital safety ratings can inform your choices Key warning signs to watch for in a patient's condition The role of systemic issues in contributing to medical errors EPISODE RESOURCES: Website Instagram Facebook LinkedIn YouTube Tik Tok

What lessons can we learn from a family mystery about missing keys and how to manage stress and communication during unexpected challenges? This episode dives into the chaotic, humorous, and frustrating journey of searching for missing car keys in the Greene household. Rebecca and Seth recount how a seemingly minor inconvenience turned into a multi-day ordeal involving snow shoveling, metal detectors, and miscommunication. Along the way, they share insights on communication, patience, and practical problem-solving. Key Takeaways: ➡️ Don't Jump to Conclusions: Assumptions can lead to unnecessary stress—gather all the facts first. ➡️ Communicate Thoroughly: Open and honest communication helps solve problems faster. ➡️ Be Persistent, But Find Humor: Perseverance is essential, but laughter can help diffuse frustration. ➡️ Utilize Technology: AirTags or similar devices can save time and stress. ➡️ Value of Spare Keys: Always know the location of your spare keys to avoid prolonged chaos. Quotes: Rebecca: "Communication is critical—I should have retraced everyone's steps instead of assuming the culprit." Seth: "I learned that coming in with just apologies, instead of a detective story, would have worked better." Ultimately, The Case of the Missing Keys wasn't just about lost keys—it was a reminder of the importance of teamwork, patience, and staying grounded amidst chaos. Seth and Rebecca's story shows that even in moments of frustration, there's room for humor, growth, and love. As Rebecca wisely noted, "Communication is critical," and Seth reminds us that "Everyone makes mistakes." With lessons learned and a cleaner, more organized house, this family mystery became an unforgettable tale of resilience and connection. In Matthew 13, Jesus teaches about the different types of soil – hearts that either resist, quickly fade, get distracted, or truly embrace the Word, yielding an incredible harvest. We all want to be "good soil" that produces a life filled with purpose and impact. But how do we cultivate this type of heart? This message breaks down steps we can take to prepare our hearts as fertile ground for God's Word:Repentance & Humility – Removing the rocks and weeds blocking growth (1 John 1:8-9, James 4:6).Meditate on Scripture – Letting God's Word take root deeply (Psalms 1:1-3).Pray for Wisdom – One of the greatest treasures we have (James 1:5).Be Honest About Distractions – Recognizing what might choke out the Word (Mark 4:19).Pursue Connection – Surrounding ourselves with fellow believers as Jesus did (Luke 19:10, 7:34).Be Persistent and Patient – Trusting that a harvest will come in due season (Galatians 6:9).Cultivate a Thankful Heart – Gratitude shifts our perspective and strengthens our faith (Colossians 3:17).When God's Word comes into your life, how does your heart receive it? Are you cultivating "good soil" that can yield a significant harvest?
In Philippians 4:6-7, we are reminded, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Few practical tips for deepening your prayer life: 1. Find a Quiet Space 2. Be Honest 3. Listen 4. Use Scripture 5. Be Persistent ______________________________________ www.carolyncoaching.com

Create Sales meeting topics in minutes. Lisa Thal is an Author, Inspirational Speaker, and Business Coach. She has over 37 years of marketing, sales, and leadership experience. She wrote the book "Three Word Meetings." Lisa coaches leaders on creating sales and business meetings with fun and interesting 3-word topics to create a conversation and inspire your sales team. Episode 233: One Key to Creating More Luck in Sales! There is one thing that top performers do better than their competitors to create more Luck, they Focus! Focus: The One Key to Creating More Luck in Sales In sales, where every strategy and technique claims to be the beacon of success, one underlying principle significantly increases your chances of converting that big client—Focus. If you're in sales, marketing, or entrepreneurship, you're no stranger to the pursuit of Luck and the desire to secure that big win. But does it just come down to Luck? Or is there something more within your control that can lead to consistent sales success? Focus is the answer, and I will show you why and how to harness it to tip the scales in your favor. Why Focus? The common misconception is that Luck in sales is just a byproduct of playing the numbers game. But ask any seasoned sales professional, marketing executive, or successful entrepreneur—they will tell you that their 'lucky streak' is often a direct result of razor-sharp Focus. It starts with understanding your market, knowing your product inside and out, personalizing your approach, and listening to your clients. When you channel your energy into these focused efforts, you carve out a path where opportunities will likely land in your lap. Call it Luck or call it strategy; the results are undeniable. How do you cultivate Focus in your sales efforts? It begins with focusing on the right activities. Please look at your calendar for this week and count the number of new client meetings, followed by the number of meetings with your current clients. If you're unhappy with that number, you have to focus your efforts and time on scheduling more discovery calls. What can you do to create more Focus? Identify and Understand Your Target Audience Research who benefits the most from your product. Many of us are calling on new clients who don't have the resources or are not fit for your product or service. Let's eliminate those prospects from our Focus. Identify the prospects who fit your ideal customer. Tailor your sales solutions to address your prospective clients' needs and pain points. Educate Yourself on Every Aspect of Your Product or Service A deep knowledge of what you're selling instills confidence in your prospects and positions you as an expert. Customers are more inclined to trust and buy from someone who can articulate the benefits of their offering. Prioritize Your Day Each morning, review your day. Make sure most of your time is spent meeting new prospects, meeting with current clients, or seeking introductions from your current clients or your network of friends. Be Persistent and Consistent Success in sales usually takes time. Only 5-15% of prospects we call on today may need our product or service. We maintain regular contact with prospects, follow up diligently, and stay consistent. Persistence fuels Luck by keeping you top-of-mind when a customer is ready to decide. Learn and Adapt from Each Interaction After each sale or missed opportunity, evaluate what worked and what didn't. Use this information to refine your approach. Over time, these incremental changes can significantly improve your sales luck. Creating more Luck in sales is less about chance and more about strategic Focus. You can generate your own Luck by defining and immersing yourself in your target audience, becoming an expert on your product, and systematically pursuing your sales goals. The diligent preparation, unwavering dedication to your craft, and intelligent allocation of your efforts lay the groundwork for those moments when everything seems to fall into place—the moments we attribute to Luck. In the end, remember you're taking the wheel instead of just riding along when you focus. You're navigating towards success—not simply waiting for it to happen. Make the word focus your mantra, and watch as 'luck' becomes a regular appointment on your calendar. Happy selling and Focus may be the driving force behind your next closed deal. If you know someone who could use a little more Focus, share it with them. If there is a topic you would like me to discuss, private message me. Create engaging sales meetings in minutes! On this episode, we welcome transitioning service member Ioannis Kiriazis, who goes by John to make pronouncing his name easier. John is a US Army Lieutenant Colonel who is retiring in March of 2024 and recently started his transition leave. During his service, John served in many roles including Professor of Military Science at Marquette University. He is scheduled to begin a SkillBridge internship with the Junior ROTC program and is also interested in exploring roles in the international relations field.A few weeks ago, John went to Jimmy John's to grab a quick lunch and noticed a plaque on the wall outlining Warren Buffett's Top 10 Rules. With transition on his brain, he read through the list with his transition lenses and made a LinkedIn post shortly thereafter. All 10 rules parallel the military transition!Rule 1: Reinvest Your Profits. Sometimes your first career path isn't the final path, and that's okay. When you look at profits as your experiences and skills, then it's natural to want to take your profits to the next level. Rule 2: Be willing to be different. Reflect and figure out what you want from your next chapter. It's okay to change career fields or decide you'd rather be an individual contributor rather than continue to lead people. Rule 3: Never Suck Your Thumb. Don't sit back and assume the transition will work out without effort.Rule 4: Spell Out the Deal Before Your Start. Be prepared for job negotiation. Rule 5: Watch for Small Expenses. Work to reduce or eliminate debt before you transition. Rule 6: Limit What You Borrow. Have a safety net of 3-6 months of living expenses saved. Rule 7: Be Persistent. Work multiple courses of action for employment. Rule 8 & 9: Know When to Quit and Assess the Risks. Be prepared to pivot.Rule 10: Know What Success Really Means. What will satisfy you and bring you happiness? To end the episode, John asks 3 questions about his own military transition. Question #1: Do you find through your experience in working with transitioning veterans that those who extend their retirement past the 20-year mark have other unique challenges? The longer you serve, the more likely you will face age discrimination. Never disclose to a future employer that you served 20+ years in the military. Instead, focus on how you can leverage your skills and experience into a new role.Question #2: Is there one good resource, or page, that consolidates the multitude of certifications that could be associated with the full spectrum of civilian industry? While there is not one comprehensive resource, taking advantage of informational interviews, researching job postings and consulting with organizations such as ACT NOW Education, Boots to Books, The Warrior Scholar Project and Service to School can help you focus your certification strategy.Question #3: What are some techniques or factors I can take into consideration when I balance my next career on what my passion is versus the required fact that I likely need to make a certain salary to take care of my family? In episode 112, Keith Cassant shared 5 factors to consider when making career decisions: Money, Hours, People, Location and Type of Work. Prioritize these values and constantly reevaluate them. Looks like my Mic dies at 25 min. Why in the heck does God need our prayers? “After many days the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain upon the earth.”” (1 Kings 18:1, ESV) “When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Is it you, you troubler of Israel?” And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you have, and your father’s house, because you have abandoned the commandments of the Lord and followed the Baals. Now therefore send and gather all Israel to me at Mount Carmel, and the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.”” (1 Kings 18:17–19, ESV) “And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is a sound of the rushing of rain.” So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel. And he bowed himself down on the earth and put his face between his knees. And he said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” And he went up and looked and said, “There is nothing.” And he said, “Go again,” seven times. And at the seventh time he said, “Behold, a little cloud like a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” And he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and go down, lest the rain stop you.’ ” And in a little while the heavens grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode and went to Jezreel. And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah, and he gathered up his garment and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.” (1 Kings 18:41–46, ESV) It is about a distance of 10 miles that Elijah ran to get to Jezreel before Ahab’s horses and chariots. God said he would send rain. Why did Elijah have to pray, and that 7 times? Givehim15.com – March 11, 2021 “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.” (James 5:13–18, ESV) God is Sovereign, he can do what he wills. Why does he desire and require our cooperation and participation? Faith or Fatalism: Fatalism: God is Sovereign. He will do whatever he wills, so why bother praying? Extreme Calvinism and Islam are similar in this regards towards God. God is indeed sovereign and sometimes he acts without human participation, but often it is for judgment of a rebellious people. Even then, he relents when people repent. “Jonah began to go into the city, going a day’s journey. And he called out, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!” And the people of Nineveh believed God. They called for a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them.” (Jonah 3:4–5, ESV) “When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.” (Jonah 3:10, ESV) “The heavens are the Lord’s heavens, but the earth he has given to the children of man.” (Psalm 115:16, ESV) The Truth is that God’s will is for our victory, our healing, our deliverance and for salvation, but there is resistance in the earth and the atmosphere. “Thy will be done on earth, as it is already being done in heaven….” “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:11–12, ESV) We are in a war with others who are under Satan’s power either by deception or by willing obedience. They also have authority on the earth and give permission to be used for and by evil. And as in any battle, there are casualties on the good side. We, the people of God, are discouraged and give up in the battle. We get tired of the fight. We doubt God’s will and surrender to fatalism. If God wanted it to happen then it would. Well God does not desire any to perish, but many do. See how Daniel was resisted as he prayed. “In those days I, Daniel, was mourning for three weeks. I ate no delicacies, no meat or wine entered my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, for the full three weeks.” (Daniel 10:2–3, ESV) “Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia, and came to make you understand what is to happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is for days yet to come.”” (Daniel 10:12–14, ESV) Not only does God require our prayers, but he wants us to be successful in our prayers. He wants us to maintain our determination, our face like flint, till we see our godly prayers answered. Be Persistent in prayer: “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” (Romans 12:12, ESV) “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 4:2, ESV) “And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” (Luke 11:9–10, ESV) It is not God resisting your prayers… it is the enemy. Why does God allow the enemy to resist? War is necessary, to war through the resistance: “Now these are the nations that the Lord left, to test Israel by them, that is, all in Israel who had not experienced all the wars in Canaan. It was only in order that the generations of the people of Israel might know war, to teach war to those who had not known it before.” (Judges 3:1–2, ESV)“They were for the testing of Israel, to know whether Israel would obey the commandments of the Lord, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.” (Judges 3:4, ESV) Do You really believe God wants to and will answer your prayers? “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:5–8, ESV) Double minded in Greek is dipsychos = 2 minds. “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:18–20, ESV)

So, just show up as you on day one. Be you so that you never have to be anyone else and the people that like you will do so authentically and those that don’t, well, they won’t stick around. Show up on day one as your authentic self and you’ll create an authentic life. Doing this will let you step into your power and be firm in your decisions and actions so that you can create the life you want This way, you can step into your power and be firm in those decisions and actions, so that you can create the life you want. When you do this, you’ll discover what I already know to be true about you, that you are amazing. Be Persistent It is never easy to foster talent. People will get discouraged and distracted. They may come to rely on you to do the heavy lifting, instead of demonstrating initiative and using their own intelligence. This is natural, because it takes time to discover one's own abilities. It also takes time to accept responsibility for one's own outcomes. You can help others, but it is not your role to do all the work for them. With persistence, you can communicate two critical lessons: you have talent burning inside you, and you can bring it out if you are willing to put in sufficient effort. Learn to Listen Listening is something you can learn, day after day, that enriches ourselves inwardly and outwardly we see in our demonstrations and in our behavior. It’s a gesture that shows maturity and security. While we are listening we often think already about how to respond. This is not a competition to see who is right, you do not win anything, actually you have everything to lose. If you do not handle well the conversation you risk misunderstandings and this leads to unnecessary fights. Do not listen to respond, listening to help, to understand, to learn and to grow together. Subscribe! If you enjoyed the podcast please subscribe and rate it. And of course, share with your friends! Special Guest: Stuart Chapman .

Connor is the Director of Sales and Marketing for Active Blogs, and he’s been involved in sales and marketing from a very young age. His insights reach far beyond his millennial years, and you don’t want to miss hearing his stories. He understands the relationship needed between marketing and sales departments like few others do, and he shares the top 3 pillars your content marketing needs to be built on in order for it to be successful. Be sure to give this episode your full attention! Leveraging Sales Content is Essential, No Matter Your Company Size Leveraging sales content is one of the best strategies any company or salesperson can leverage to drive engagement. Content should play a massive role in the life of a modern salesperson because it’s a key feature that fuels sales conversations. Buying processes are getting longer and companies employ multiple decision makers that are more informed than ever before. Providing content to prospects allows them to build a trusting relationship with your company, even before they speak to a sales rep. Connor explains that marketing and sales departments must work together to create sales content that sends the right message at the right time. He says, “They have to be married together because the salespeople are going to win by being able to provide the right types of insights to marketing, and marketing being able to regurgitate that into usable content.” Follow this 80/20 Rule for the 3 Pillars of Sales Content From his time managing and training sales teams, Connor has identified 3 main pillars that sales content falls into. Here they are. Educational content Entertaining content Actionable content Content marketers and salespeople run into trouble when they start devoting 80% of their content to the actionable pillar. Instead, Connor recommends that only 20% of your content is actionable while 80% is split between the first two pillars. Sales is relational, and educational/entertaining content builds a relationship with a prospect. For the full story behind these 3 pillars and how they can help you improve your sales content game, give this episode your full attention. Be Persistent! Developing a Following for Your Content Takes Time, but There is a Trick We have never lived in a better world for using content marketing for sales. But in order to capture the attention of an audience that’s constantly bombarded by noise, you have to approach content marketing in the right way. Have you considered using LinkedIn native video? It’s one of the best ways to reach new audiences on the platform, and there are a few simple tricks you can follow to make your posts reach even further. When creating a video, make sure you do the following: Leverage your existing written content into a video message Keep the video under 60 seconds Share your brand and personality And most importantly, don’t get discouraged if your posts aren’t receiving the amount of engagement you’d like. Connor is adamant about the belief that “consistency is key.” Creating a great cache of online content takes time, but it’s 100% worth the investment. What if Your Company Doesn’t Produce Content? Use These Strategies Connor and I both understand and believe in the power of using content marketing for sales. But what is a salesperson supposed to do if their company doesn’t produce content? Connor explains that there are a few different areas to look at when searching for content. Consider recent industry research, market trends, etc. If you start by reverse engineering what types of content will provide the most value for your prospects, you’ll discover finding and developing sales content is much easier than you think. For the full story behind why content marketing can change the way you approach sales, don’t miss this episode. The post Be Persistent appeared first on Glorious Way Church.
I am so excited to start off the New Year with the message of Be Persistent. God is basically telling us to “bring it on!” “Don’t quit!” Much like in Malachi 3, where instructs us to trust Him with our finances He is telling us to Be Persistent. Malachi 3:10 That is the only place in the Bible that God says, test me in this “Try me!” And just like God said “Try Me” with your finances, He is telling us to be persistent in our prayers and our pursuit of His will. Matthew 7:7-11; Luke 11:9-13 We need to pursue the things of God. James 4:3; 1 John 5:14. Jesus just got done preaching to us about pure motives and intents of the heart and now we see that when we have those pure motives and pure intentions, God will respond! There is nothing wrong with persistent prayer. Luke 18:1-8 I don’t know why or how God answers prayer. But pray until that prayer gets answered!!! But doesn’t that show a lack of faith? Obviously not! Are you still asking God to show you people that you can share the Gospel with? Are you still seeking opportunities to serve people? Are you knocking on the doors, so that they may be open to you? When we keep on asking for people to minister to, you will receive the opportunities to do so. When we keep on seeking for people to serve, you will find the opportunities to do so. When we keep on knocking for God to open doors of opportunity to bring Him glory, the doors will be opened to you! I want to encourage you today! Don’t grow weary!!!! Keep on asking! Keep on seeking! Keep on knocking! There will be a harvest when you do! Galatians 6:9 Be Persistent! Are you praying for the salvation of your kids? Be Persistent! Are you praying for the faith to honor God with your finances? Be Persistent! Are you praying for a marriage that just doesn’t seem to have a shred of hope in it? Be Persistent! Are you praying that God will grant you peace in the storms of life? Be Persistent! Are you praying for healing that never seems to come? Be Persistent! We have an awesome and mighty God that is all ears, when we pray according to His will! Be Persistent!! Asking = Receiving Seeking = Finding Knocking = Open doors!
Believe In The Mission In What You’re Doing "That is so important, the startup market is very saturated. There is a new app or little tech gadgets, and they can be cool, but if it doesn’t grind your gears you may not be passionate about it to persevere. If you have a core belief, you will attach yourself from what the customers are saying and what you're hearing. You will take the positive/negative feedback and learn from it. By believe in the mission, it will help you get through your ups and downs in business." Be Persistent "Know what you’re doing and believe in what you’re doing! Keep working through things, but still be strong in your own mentality. Three pieces of advice out of the 100 you hear, may be valid, but be strong and confident. Lastly, be wiling to listen." Be a Team Player "You have your palm, but attached to your palm, you have your fingers. Each individual finger adds power. You’re the ceo, you’re the glue, you need experts in marketing, development, HR, PR, and once you have that team of individuals. It's your job to get the most out of them." #Timestamp 00:30: Introduction 01:10: Passion 02:20: Struggles in Business 04:00: Having Users Use Your Platform 08:35: Failure 11:15: Habits 12:20: How do you network? 14:35: Life as an entrepreneur 16:45: Formula for success 18:00: Believe in the mission in what you're doing, Be Persistent, and Be a Team Player 21:35: Mac and Cheese or Fufu Ofo Ezeugwu Twitter: https://twitter.com/ofoezeugwu Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ofoezeugwu35 Business Website: http://www.whoseyourlandlord.com Website: http://www.ofoezeugwu.com Originally Recorded: December 14, 2015 __________ Techie, Millennial Author, WWE Fan, Podcaster. Jim Traister is the CEO of HospitalityFan, a Social Media & Creative agency that drive sales via social media for independent hospitality businesses every day across the country. Secret -- timesaving technique Consolidate your channels of communication, utilize email in an effective manner, and make sure to turn off all unnecessary notifications that can become distractions. ONWARD! Daily habit that contributes to success Jim’s success can be attributed to family and an overall willingness to tackle the hardest task at the start of the workday. Could have ruined your business -- but now -- an invaluable learning experience Jim had to let go of a valued salesperson and consequently lost one of the company’s largest accounts -- and Jim tells the whole story here. Most critical skill you think business owners need to master to be successful “A business owner has to be committed to their customers, understand the customer's point-of-view, and remain persistent.” Most influential lesson learned from a mentor “It’s so easy to be great if you have a good work ethic because there is very little competition out there.” Final Round -- “Breaking Down the Recipe for Success” What systems would you go back and put into place sooner? “I would have put a system in place to help with sales because an inadequate system can’t fully prepare a salesperson.” What one strategy or “recipe” would compound into big wins for business owners? Caring is the recipe for success. Very few companies try to form mutually beneficial meaningful relationships. How to exceed expectations and add the most value? An individual that can communicate effectively, take initiative, and become a proactive problem solver. What strategy would you recommend new business owners focus on to best ensure success? Find your future self. Don’t listen to your friends and family if they can’t relate. Be Persistent and care for everyone. How best to connect with Jim: http://www.hospitalityfan.com

Satan loves to see Christians quit in their pursuit of right living. He is constantly reminding us of our failures and the high standards of God
