We fail to realize that we are listening to our fears rather than our truth. Listen to this podcast to remember that you are never out of time to live your best life!

We went back to our roots and started googling things that have never made sense to us and the Leap Day episode was born! We came to find that this ish is real boring but we did our best. There’s a lot of lunar and sun cycles and a lot of Romans eating grapes, but we ultimately came to the conclusion that time isn’t real and the calendar is trash. Speaking of trash...we round out this episode venting about the dumpster fire that is Love is Blind!

YUUUULE! The true history of Christmas has been a mystery for us and on this episode we reveal the source of some of the Christmas traditions we know and love today. Don’t shoot the messenger, but documented history states that Christmas may not have had such a wholesome beginning, even warranting a war on the holiday itself. This is a real history-vocab situation with a dash of celebratory mischief to get you in the spirit this season! Happy Saturnalia, all you Lords of Misrule!

Lieutenant Bryan Stevens of the Fort Worth Police Dept., Gang Division, chats about his childhood, how he became a policeman, his 23 years in the criminal law field, and what life is like today for his policemen.
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Barbara Prose, Assistant Minister. SERMON DESCRIPTION Recently, I asked a friend if she would teach me how to do flip turns in the pool. She gave me some great tips on how to create momentum with my head and my feet, and how to position and use my arms to keep the momentum going. Yet despite her kindness, skill, and patience, I couldn’t seem to stay straight or flip fast. Some say, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Others say, “It’s never too late to learn.” Gregory of Nyssa, the 4th century Christian mystic said the perfection of the spiritual journey is precisely that it is never finished. I say we belong to religious communities in part because it is where we can continue to teach and learn and grow, no matter what, until the very end. As our community’s children return to school, and we anticipate the beginning of the church year together, I look forward to exploring the sacred nature of the teacher-student relationship and how our congregations can be classrooms for the soul.
