The trio hoping to soothe global tensions through musical collaboration. They mix Chinese and American songs to focus on similarities not differences. Also: helping disadvantaged teens go to the prom; and a K-pop first.Presenter: Valerie Sanderson. Music composed by Iona Hampson
In this one, I talk to Katie Ringsmuth. She's the Alaska State Historian, the Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer and the creator of the NN Cannery History Project, a seven-year effort to preserve and interpret the stories of the people who powered one of Alaska's most historic salmon canneries. For Katie, this story is personal. She grew up around the NN Cannery in South Naknek, where her dad worked for decades, eventually becoming the last superintendent of the Alaska Packers' Association. He started in 1964 as a young college graduate in Kodiak, doing whatever odd jobs needed doing — from sorting crab to running the entire operation at the NN Cannery. Under his leadership, the cannery shifted away from the rigid, old-school model of command-and-control superintendents — “Tony Soprano–style,” as Katie puts it — and toward something more humane. He created housing for families, hired women and built a workplace that people returned to year after year. The NN Cannery History Project is more than just about the processing plant, it's about preserving its historical importance and honoring its workers. The cannery itself was a cultural crossroads with a workforce that included Alaska Native peoples, Scandinavians, Italians, Japanese, Chinese, and Filipino laborers. Canned food revolutionized how people ate. It made it possible to preserve and transport perishable foods across vast distances, reshaping global diets and economies — and the NN Cannery was a key player in that transformation. Originally built as a saltery in 1897, the NN Cannery went on to produce more canned salmon than any other cannery in the state. Katie's work on the NN Cannery History Project ultimately led to the site being listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a recognition that underscores its national significance. Throughout the project, Katie explores how Alaska fits into the global history of canned food and how preservation — both of fish and of stories — can change the way we understand place, labor and legacy.

Catherine, David and Matt were joined by Charlie Eccleshare of The Athletic to talk through Iga Swiatek becoming Wimbledon champion and her 6-0 6-0 win over Amanda Anisimova in the final. In part one we talk through what happened in a match that had the most one-sided of scorelines and the most brutal of defeats for a nervous and – in her own estimation – tired, Amanda Anisimova. We discuss how nerves played their part in limiting Anisimova's ability to hurt Swiatek and how much the semi-final against Sabalenka may have taken from her in emotional energy. Disappointing as it was from her point of view, however, we had plenty of space to talk about the brilliance of Iga Swiatek in grand slam finals, her ruthlessness and power today, her resilience in coming back after a number of disappointing results to take this title, and how her victory changes the narrative of women's tennis. Finally, it's a scoreline which once again got us talking about best of three vs best of five. In part two (44m04s) we discuss the other results from today, including a first victory in a very long time for an all British pair – Cash and Glasspool - in the men's doubles, of an intense and dramatic victory for De la Puente and Spaargaren over Hewett and Reid in the men's wheelchair doubles, and of a new star in Chinese wheelchair tennis as Wang Ziying denied Yui Kamiji her first Wimbledon victory and a career golden slam. In part three (50m18s) we give you a preview of the men's final tomorrow and look ahead to the final order of play at the Championships 2025. 00:00:00 – Stream-Deck Chaos & AI Cover Songs: We kick off wrestling with fresh software updates that broke the video switcher, then marvel at lightning-fast AI covers of Mike's 2005 skate-punk tune “Everyone Piggy James,” asking whether any robot could ever replicate the show's improv shenanigans. 00:10:00 – Hulk Hogan's Dungeon of Doom Flashback: A trip down WWE memory lane—Mike plays a vintage vignette of Hulk Hogan waking up in the Dungeon of Doom and wonders how to teach an AI why this ridiculousness is funny. 00:20:00 – Geo-engineering Whistle-blower Claims: Nicole Shanahan's X-thread sparks debate about renamed “climate-intervention” grants and DARPA black files; the crew recalls the Mirage Men playbook and warns of disinfo boomerangs. 00:30:00 – Is the Epstein Dam About to Burst?: With promised transparency still MIA, the guys predict resignations—or a strategic perp walk—if long-sealed files finally surface, while ICE raids and heavy-handed enforcement add to the pressure. 00:40:00 – Sensationalism vs. Skepticism in UFO News: A Washington Examiner piece prompts a three-way theory showdown—secret tech, rival superpowers, or a sliver of true “alien” craft—plus speculation about a hidden breakaway civilization. 00:50:00 – “A Lot of Milk” & UFO Fatigue: After decades of recycled lore, listeners—and even Congress—seem numb; repeating the same three whistle-blowers is turning real curiosity into background noise. 01:00:00 – Storm Area 51: The Netflix ‘Train-Wreck': Remember the Facebook meme that drew 150 brave souls to a gate in the desert? A new documentary revisits the fiasco and its copy-cat plans to “storm” Loch Ness and the Bermuda Triangle. 01:10:00 – China's 12-Day, 60-Mile Traffic Jam: An infamous 2010 grid-lock spawned roadside mini-marts selling $15 water and $5 cigarettes while cars advanced one kilometre a day—capitalism with Chinese characteristics, the hosts joke. 01:20:00 – Phone-Lines Open & The Dam-Breaking Motif: Call-in listeners riff on “dam breaking” themes—UFO secrecy, immigration backlash, and Epstein fallout—echoing the show's running metaphor of mounting public frustration. 01:30:00 – Boston: America's Worst Drivers (Again): Allstate's annual report crowns Boston crash-king for the tenth straight year (one accident every three years!), while Texas cities dominate the safe-driver list. 01:40:00 – “I Buy Crack Houses” Billboard Backlash: A Cleveland flipper's provocative ads—“Your house is trash, I pay cash”–trigger city-council outrage, but the hosts argue it spotlights broken-windows blight that drags neighbourhoods down. 01:50:00 – NASA's Smuggled Corned-Beef Sandwich & ‘Admin/Admin': From default Pentagon passwords to Gemini-3 astronauts sneaking rye-bread subs into orbit, security lapses (and crumbs) make for delicious—and costly—space-program lore. 02:00:00 – Profane Sing-Along & Sign-Off: The episode closes with an impromptu, expletive-laden jam about gas-filled road trips, selling “big-ass” stuff, and cranking up the radio—classic OBDM energy to play us out. Leslie is joined by Scott Paul, President of the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM), a partnership established by some of America's leading manufacturers and the United Steelworkers union. The pair first discusses a new piece that Scott wrote for 'Industry Week' that finally puts to rest one of U.S. manufacturing naysayers' favorite lines: “Who wants to work in a factory anyway?” Next, they explore what progress has the Trump administration made on all of their attempted trade deals after the White House extended its reciprocal tariff pause to August 1st, with the hope of securing more deals. Third, Scott and Leslie explain why Americans should be pleased about a new 10-year end to 'the de minimis exemption,' a Customs loophole that Chinese e-commerce behemoths like Temu and DHGate had been exploiting. Fourth, Leslie asks Scott about an FTC letter sent on the same day Amazon launched its Prime Day sale this week, which called on the e-commerce giant (and Walmart) to put a stop to false “Made in USA” claims on its website. This comes after Amazon's marketplace has increasingly become a Wild West of products from third-party vendors as it seeks to emulate SHEIN and Temu. Finally, both Leslie and Scott applauded Senator Elissa Slotkin for a recent speech she gave outlining her “Economic War Plan." They also found this particular line from the speech very timely: "As a CIA officer and Pentagon official by training, I believe that the single, greatest security threat to the United States is *not* coming from abroad. It's the shrinking middle class here at home." The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (07/10/2025): 3:05pm- While speaking with the press, President Trump reacted to Senator Jose Padilla's (D-CA) proposed bill which would prevent ICE agents from wearing masks and concealing their personal identity. There have been several recent attacks on ICE facilities—including one attack in McAllen, Texas involving a man with an assault rifle. Despite these violent attacks, Democrats continue to unjustly demonize ICE agents. 3:30pm- According to a report from Fox News Digital, the Department of Justice is criminally investigating former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey for potential false statements to Congress related to the disproven Trump campaign/Russia collusion narrative. While appearing on MSNBC with Nicolle Wallace, Brennan claimed the investigation into him was “weaponizing intelligence and justice.” In addition to espousing falsehoods about the 2016 election, Brennan has notably lied about civilian casualties that resulted from Obama Administration drone strikes and about the CIA illegally accessing the computers of U.S. Senate staffers. 4:00pm- Salena Zito—Award Winning Political Reporter—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss her new book, “Butler: The Untold Story of the Near Assassination of Donald Trump and the Fight for America's Heartland.” Nearly one year later, she recounts what it was like standing just feet from the stage in Butler, Pennsylvania when shots rang out. She recalls her daughter telling her: “I wanted it to be fireworks. I didn't want to think we were literally sitting ducks and being fired at.” You can find the book here: https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/salena-zito/butler/9781546009146/. 4:30pm- Corey DeAngelis— Senior Fellow at the American Culture Project & Author of the book, “The Parent Revolution: Rescuing Your Kids from the Radicals Ruining Our Schools”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show and reacts to the United Federation of Teachers endorsing Zoran Mamdani for Mayor of New York City, explaining: “They locked arms with the socialist candidate.” He also reveals that despite opposing school choice, Mamdani attended a private school that costs $66K per year for kindergarten! 5:05pm- Bill D'Agostino—Senior Research Analyst at Media Research Center—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to breakdown some of the best (and worst) moments from corporate media: major media outlets are refusing to cover far-left attacks against ICE agents in Texas and CNN data suggests Americans aren't afraid of climate change (despite progressive fear mongering). 5:30pm- A California woman says her home was mistakenly listed as the return address for a Chinese car seat seller on Amazon—and consequently, her home has been flooded with unwanted returns! PLUS, why can't Livyy Dunn live in Babe Ruth's $1.6 million condo? 5:45pm- On Wednesday, former White House physician Dr. Kevin O'Connor invoked the Fifth Amendment while testifying before the House Oversight Committee about President Joe Biden's cognitive health. 6:05pm- Susan Crabtree—RealClearPolitics National Political Correspondent & Author of the book, “Fools Gold: The Radicals, Con Artists, and Traitors Who Killed the California Dream and Now Threaten Us All”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss her latest report: “Key supervisors who signed off on the Butler security plan and two who were on the final walkthroughs before the…rally were never disciplined but instead received BIG PROMOTIONS.” 6:30pm- Jimmy Failla—Host of “Fox News Saturday with Jimmy Failla” & “Fox Across America”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show. Is Jimmy concerned about having a socialist mayor? No way! The breadlines might help him lose weight! Failla will be performing at SoulJoel's in Montgomery County, PA on August 9th. A new generation of scholars is reshaping China-Africa research. More geographically diverse and digitally fluent than the field's early pioneers of the 2000s, this cohort brings fresh perspectives and tools to the study of China's engagement on the continent. Yet deep structural barriers persist. African and Chinese researchers still face sizable obstacles in shaping research agendas, as U.S. and European institutions continue to dominate decisions about what gets studied, who receives funding, and which voices are amplified. Solange Guo Chatelard, a research associate at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the new executive director of the Chinese in Africa/Africans in China research network, joins Eric & Cobus to discuss the current state of China-Africa scholarship and where it's going. President Donald Trump is in Texas for a firsthand look at the damage caused by the recent flooding. The president did an aerial tour of some of the hardest-hit areas. The White House also says he'll visit the state emergency operations center to meet with first responders and the relatives of some of the flood victims. Trump will also get a briefing from officials.Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Friday that his meeting in Malaysia with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi was "very constructive," but that the two sides still had issues to resolve. Rubio added that there was a "high probability" of a meeting between Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, though a date has yet to be fixed.
President Donald Trump visited Central Texas on July 11 for a first-hand look at damage from a devastating flood that claimed the lives of more than 120 people statewide, including more than 35 children. Trump received a briefing from local officials in Kerr County, Texas, and met with the relatives of victims.Secretary of State Marco Rubio says there is a "high probability" of a meeting between Trump and Chinese communist leader Xi Jinping. Rubio made the comments after his meeting with his Chinese counterpart in Malaysia at the ASEAN summit.New data from the Treasury Department show that surging tariff revenues in June helped the U.S. government post an unexpected budget surplus of $27 billion, offering a rare fiscal bright spot amid persistently high federal deficits and suggesting that Trump's tariff policies are becoming a significant source of government revenue.
In this special episode of Takeaway Chinese, we're going to learn how to say "study tour" in Chinese.
In this expansive episode, Ghost dives deep into Africa's shifting alliances and the global scramble for critical resources. He opens with Trump's Africa Summit, where five West African nations were invited to Washington to negotiate trade deals centered on rare earth minerals, oil, and gas. Ghost methodically dissects NPR and AP coverage, showing how Western media narratives obscure the real incentives driving U.S. outreach, countering China's and Russia's growing footholds across the continent. Using detailed maps and timelines, he explains how military coups in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso have created a new power bloc aligned with Russia, and why Liberia, Gabon, and others were strategically selected for engagement. The conversation moves to the Pentagon's controversial investment in MP Materials, effectively nationalizing America's only rare earth mine to break dependence on Chinese supply chains. Ghost then pivots to Israel's turmoil, exploring how Netanyahu's government is trapped between domestic collapse, far-right coalition partners, and stalled Gaza negotiations. With plenty of sidebars, on rare earth land grabs, CIA-backed coups, and the long game of economic warfare, this episode is equal parts exposé and history lesson, revealing how old empires still pull the strings behind modern headlines.
Ratcheting up tariff tensions — President Trump fires off new threats against top trading partners. Plus, Secretary of State Marco Rubio meets with his Chinese counterpart, who accuses the United States of tariff abuse. And later, futures come under pressure, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq pulling back from record levels.
In Ep. 87, hosts Ray Powell and Jim Carouso speak with Ambassador Pou Sothirak, a former Cambodian diplomat and current distinguished advisor to the Cambodian Center for Regional Studies, to unpack the complex issues facing Cambodia today. The discussion centers on the renewed border conflict with Thailand, the controversy surrounding the Ream Naval Base, and Cambodia's strategic navigation of its relationships with the United States and China.Ambassador Sothirak provides historical context for the century-old border dispute, which has its origins in French colonial-era maps from 1907. He recounts the history of the conflict, including the International Court of Justice (ICJ) rulings in 1962 and 2013 that affirmed Cambodia's sovereignty over the Preah Vihear temple and its surrounding territory. The most recent clashes, which began in late May, are described as a "misunderstanding" at face value but are deeply entangled with issues of nationalism and domestic politics in both nations. The situation has been exacerbated by a political crisis in Thailand following a leaked phone call between the leaders of the two nations, which has brought bilateral relations to a low point. The Ambassador suggests a path forward involving third-party mediation to facilitate a truce and demilitarization of the border, followed by high-level diplomatic talks. The conversation addresses widespread speculation that China's extensive support in upgrading the Ream Naval Base amounts to establishing a Chinese military outpost. Ambassador Sothirak dismisses this as a "myth," stating that Cambodia's constitution prohibits foreign military bases on its soil. He explains that Cambodia's collaboration with China is aimed at modernizing its own navy to safeguard its maritime security. However, he acknowledges the semi-permanent, rotating presence of Chinese ships and personnel at the base. He views the recent visit by the U.S. Secretary of Defense as a critical opportunity to dispel misconceptions and improve transparency, emphasizing that Cambodia must balance its ties between the two superpowers. The episode explores Cambodia's foreign policy and its efforts to manage its relationships with both the U.S. and China. China is Cambodia's largest donor and source of foreign direct investment, with its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) funding essential infrastructure like power plants and highways. At the same time, the United States is Cambodia's biggest export market. Ambassador Sothirak expresses concern that potential U.S. tariffs, intended to pressure China, could inadvertently harm Cambodia's economy and push it further into China's orbit. He argues that for a small country like Cambodia, maintaining engagement with both the U.S. and China is essential for its development and sovereignty.Follow us on X, @IndoPacPodcast, LinkedIn, or BlueSkyFollow Ray Powell on X, @GordianKnotRay, or LinkedInFollow Jim Carouso on LinkedInSponsored by BowerGroupAsia, a strategic advisory firm that specializes in the Indo-Pacific

Interview with Andre Liebenberg, Executive Director & CEO of Yellow Cake PLCOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/slow-supply-fast-demand-uraniums-new-investment-reality-7136Recording date: 7th July 2025Yellow Cake presents a compelling pure-play uranium investment opportunity positioned to capitalize on structural supply-demand imbalances in the global uranium market. The London-listed company holds approximately 22 million pounds of physical uranium stored primarily in Canada and France, providing direct exposure to uranium price appreciation without operational mining risks. The investment thesis centers on a fundamental supply deficit that is expected to persist for 3-5 years. Current global uranium production delivers approximately 165 million pounds annually against demand of 180 million pounds and rising, creating an immediate gap of 15 million pounds that is projected to widen as nuclear capacity expansion accelerates globally. China alone is constructing 26-28 reactors simultaneously, while technology companies increasingly turn to nuclear power for reliable, clean electricity to power data centers and artificial intelligence operations.Technology sector involvement represents a transformative catalyst for uranium demand. Amazon's $20 billion commitment to data center complexes alone represents half the market capitalization of the entire uranium sector, highlighting the scale of capital these companies are willing to deploy for energy security. As CEO Andre Liebenberg notes, "If a tech company had to put 20 billion dollars into the mining space, you could build a pretty big project for that." This suggests technology companies possess sufficient resources to directly address supply constraints through upstream investments if fuel security becomes a constraint to their operations.Supply-side constraints appear particularly acute given the limited number of producing jurisdictions. Five countries produce 90% of global uranium, with Kazakhstan accounting for approximately half of world production. Much of this flows to China and Russia, creating a "bifurcated market" where Western utilities face increasing competition for uranium supplies. As Liebenberg explains, "Kazakhstan, half their material goes to China. If you include Russia, it's probably closer to 2/3. Namibia, the two operating mines in Namibia are both owned by the Chinese that goes to China."Critical inventory depletion adds urgency to the supply situation. US utilities now hold approximately two years or less of uranium reserves against an 18-24 month fuel cycle, representing what Liebenberg characterizes as "the low point of their infantry." This follows nearly a decade of utilities contracting below consumption levels, a practice that cannot continue indefinitely. The eventual resumption of utility contracting represents a key catalyst for uranium price appreciation.Yellow Cake's strategic positioning provides multiple competitive advantages. The company's agreement with Kazatomprom allows $100 million annual uranium acquisitions at spot prices through 2027, providing assured access to supply in an increasingly thin market. As Liebenberg observes, "With the spot market today, you saw Sprott raise $200 million and the spot market popped $7 without them spending a penny. It's a very thin and liquid market. So $100 million volume will move the price."The company's track record demonstrates strategy effectiveness. Yellow Cake raised $200 million at IPO when uranium traded at $21 per pound and has grown to over $1.5 billion in market capitalization with uranium at $76 per pound. Liebenberg expresses confidence in continued appreciation: "I'm still of the belief that we could see a doubling in the uranium price. We're sort of partway through that journey."Government policy support for nuclear expansion, including the World Bank's decision to resume nuclear project funding and support from 14 major banks for tripling nuclear capacity, creates favorable regulatory tailwinds. Small modular reactor development adds another demand catalyst, with commercial operation possible by the end of the decade.Yellow Cake PLC offers investors direct uranium exposure through a transparent, risk-controlled business model positioned to benefit from structural supply-demand imbalances and technology sector-driven demand growth over the next 3-5 years.View Yellow Cake's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/yellow-cake-plcSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

America will, once again, build a DOMINANT Copper Industry. THIS IS, AFTER ALL, OUR GOLDEN AGE! Trump Administration Takes Stake in Rare Earths Firm In Move To End China's Control The Trump administration is deepening its effort to sever U.S. reliance on Chinese rare earth supplies, committing $400 million in equity financing to MP Materials Corp. as part of a broader plan to expand domestic production of rare earth magnets used in advanced weapons systems and industrial technologies. The Department of Defense will acquire a newly issued class of preferred stock in MP Materials, convertible into common shares, along with warrants to purchase additional equity. Following the transaction, which is expected to close Friday, the Pentagon will become the company's largest shareholder, with a potential stake of about 15%, according to MP Materials. The deal also includes a 10-year commitment by the U.S. government to support pricing and demand for domestically produced rare earth magnets. The Defense Department has guaranteed the purchase of 100 percent of the output from a planned magnet manufacturing facility—dubbed the “10X” plant—at a minimum price of $110 per kilogram for neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr), a key rare earth alloy used in missile guidance systems, fighter jets, and electric motors. The U.S. imported roughly 70 percent of its rare earths from China in 2023, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The push to reshore the supply chain gained urgency during the trade war launched by President Trump, when Beijing threatened to restrict rare earth exports. Joseph Torigian's The Party's Interest Comes First: The Life of Xi Zhongxun, Father of Xi Jinping is a monumental scholarly achievement — easily a contender for one of the best China books of the decade. Joseph's goal, in his own words, was to “shine as much light into the darkness of the past as possible” to understand the nature of authoritarian politics, and he succeeds beyond my wildest expectations. This biography gives me a feel for Chinese politics that I honestly thought I'd never have. It does an incredible job of digging deep to shed light on some of the most consequential moments in CCP history, as well as conveying what it was like to live as a senior official under Mao and Deng. Reading it was a powerful experience at both an intellectual and human level. We get memorable vignettes, like 15-year-old Xi Zhongxun attempting to assassinate a teacher, or General Peng Dehuai using his shoe to silence Xi Zhongxun's snoring in their shared bunk. In this interview, we discuss: What we can learn about authoritarianism, the CCP, and China's future from studying Xi's father, Torigian's methodology for uncovering hidden Party history, How the Party became an existential source of meaning, and how it weaponized suffering to paradoxically deepen political loyalty, The arc of Xi Zhongxun's life — from a young revolutionary to key advocate of reform — and his role during Tiananmen, The interplay of family, love, and career under the all-encompassing shadow of the Party, The role of “Surrogate fathers” and patronage in navigating political ascent, How literature shaped China's early revolutionaries, and even impacted the Party as we know it today. Co-hosting today is Jon Sine, former ChinaTalk intern. Outro music: The Temptations - Papa Was A Rolling Stone (YouTube Link) Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In this explosive monologue, the speaker alleges that China is waging a covert war on America through bioweapons, energy manipulation, and environmental influence. The episode dives deep into claims of Chinese agents smuggling weaponized organisms, rare earth mineral dependence, and the strategic re-opening of the Ramaco Brook Mine in Wyoming—America's first rare earth and coal mine in decades. Featuring fierce criticism of the Biden administration and praise for Donald Trump's energy policies, the commentary argues that reclaiming energy independence is critical to national security, technological leadership, and American survival. Includes remarks from Senator Ted Cruz on Chinese-funded legal warfare targeting U.S. energy production.
In this episode of Pekingology, Henrietta Levin, Senior Fellow with the CSIS Freeman Chair in China Studies, is joined by Kurt Campbell, former Deputy Secretary of State and President Biden's “Asia Czar.” He is currently Chairman of The Asia Group and Distinguished Fellow in Diplomacy with the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Henrietta and Kurt discuss how Beijing views American power, the development of U.S. strategy towards China, U.S.-China diplomacy and the characters that sat on the Chinese side of the table, and more. To learn more about Kurt Campbell's perspectives on China, you can read his April 2025 Foreign Affairs article, co-authored with Rush Doshi, Underestimating China: Why America Needs a New Strategy of Allied Scale to Offset Beijing's Enduring Advantages, and his 2016 book, The Pivot: The Future of American Statecraft in Asia.
Taiwan has launched its largest annual military exercise ever - amid growing concern that China is on the cusp of launching a military invasion. Many national security experts see a Chinese invasion as inevitable. A recent piece published at the cipher brief.com focuses on what Washington will do when it does happen. But first, it's the Intelligence Community that is on the front lines - charged with gathering as much information as possible about Xi Jinping's intent. This week, State Secrets is talking with Susan Miller, who retired just a few months ago from CIA, where she served as the Assistant Director for the Agency's China Mission Center. The Center was established in October of 2021, to better address the national security challenges posed by the People's Republic of China.
Today's story: You thought only the passengers rated the drivers? Think again: drivers rate passengers, too. And a low passenger rating might cost you. But it's not hard to earn a high passenger rating. To keep a high rating, don't make the driver wait, be polite, avoid eating or drinking in the car, follow the rules, and don't slam the door when you leave.Transcript & Exercises: https://plainenglish.com/789Full lesson: https://plainenglish.com/789 --Upgrade all your skills in English: Plain English is the best current-events podcast for learning English. You might be learning English to improve your career, enjoy music and movies, connect with family abroad, or even prepare for an international move.
