This is Still Here Hollywood. I'm Steve Kmetko. Join me with today's guest, and prosecutor Sylvia Costas from NYPD BLUE,, Sharon Lawrence. Now I know that not many, if any, of you will remember the show DRAGNET, because it originally aired in the 1950's, I mean I was barely around then. But DRAGNET was one of the first big TV “Cop Shows” that came on just a smidge after TV was invented.Since then, police dramas have pretty much taken up residence on network television schedules…In the 1980's there was one show that broke the mold, showing the personal side of the people in law enforcement and the judicial system. That show was NYPD BLUE.  Show CreditsHost/Producer: Steve KmetkoAll things technical: Justin ZangerleExecutive Producer: Jim LichtensteinMusic by: Brian SanyshynTranscription: Mushtaq Hussain https://stillherehollywood.comSuggest Guests at: stillherehollywood@gmail.comAdvertise on Still Here Hollywood: jim@stillherenetwork.comPublicist: Maggie Perlich: maggie@numbertwelvemarketing.com

Episode 118 - SINGAPOREAN TELEVISION DRAMA?! TRAILER PARK!  ‘The Batman’ - Well well well. Look who’s laughing now! You all doubted me. You all questioned why I would do this. “Trailer Park?!” They said. “That’s stupid!” They said. “No one cares about Betty-Sue your cousin wife!” They said. “Mitchell, Trailer Park is a waste of time, who wants to review trailers?!” They said. THIS. IS. GOD. DAMN. WHY. Our first trailer off the park this week is one that has the entire pop culture world in a frenzy right now! Matt Reeves's upcoming entry into the DC Universe looks like it’s straight out of a psychological thrilling graphic novel and what a treat we appear to be in for! R-Pats plays the titular character and as Dylan and I have said on numerous occasions, it looks almost confirmed that he will knock this out of the fucking (trailer) park! We don’t have a hell of a lot to go off plot-wise but we see The Batted Man coming up against some worthy foe in The Riddler played by Paul Dano and amazing incredibly well disguised, heavily made-up Colin Farrel as The Penguin. The usual suspects of Alfred Pennyworth, James Gordon, and Catwoman also feature and seriously, Jesus, we say this every week while reviewing these trailers, ‘Paise the Podcast and watch along with us’ but seriously, I mean it, if you haven’t seen this trailer yet. Stop what you’re doing, watch the trailer, and get hyped the fuck up. DC, you’ve done it again! Coming to theatres everywhere like I dunno, a ducking incredible Batman film, 1st October 2021.  ‘Zach Snyder’s Justice League’ - Now, as any regular listeners to the show already know, I am not a ‘superhero’ or ‘comic book’ fan, so I am not well versed in the realm of the justice league or the happenings with Zack Snyder’s cut off the film. So, I shall give you an amateurs breakdown of this trailer and what I see. The trailer opens with a goblin looking dude slamming a scepter into the ground. We then see Henry Cavill screaming about his career woes, transitioning into Gal Gadot looking fancy as fuck as Casey Affleck's brother stares menacingly into a hologram. Oh and here comes Jason Mamoa just in time to take his shirt off. Can’t blame him tbh. Oh damn, that football player just jumped that dude!! Who’s this fella with the blue lightning hands? That’s weird. Some guy was just punching or digging a grave? What is going on? HOLY COW THAT'S BATMAN. Not R-Pats… but still?! Apparently Amy Adams is in this and Jason Mamoa just turned to water. She’s sad. There’s another goblin and some half metal dude looks super tired. Some lazar is trying to open a package or something and Oh My God, the half-metal dude just watched a guy disintegrate! Now there is a butt tonne of lizard goblin dudes fighting all of the superhero people and the fast dude looks like he’s stuck in a cyclone lol. Amy Adams gets hugged in some corn and there’s a lot of CGI/Green Screen fighting going on and The Flash seems to run weirdly. Standing tall together, the superhero peeps are gathered together as the older Affleck tells them they are UNITED!! And that’s that! Coming to HBO max, 2021!  ‘War with Grandpa’ - Well, we knew it wouldn’t last forever. Trailer Park had a good run but I’m gonna have to wrap it up now! Because it ain’t getting any better than this! Here we find the most anticipated trailer in years, ‘The War with Grandpa’! And who is Grandpa you may ask? Nonother than Robert Fucking De Niro! He plays, as you can imagine, an old dude who needs to be put in a home but he’s stubborn so he moves in with his daughter and takes his grandson's room. Oh boy, his grandson does not like this one bit and declares WAR with his grandaddy and it’s on!! All the silly family-friendly pranks ensue and starring a stacked cast of Oldies alike, this could be some family fun. OR, more likely, an embarrassing healing pile of shit. Remember when De Niro played a dirty grandad like 3 years ago. Oh how the turntables… coming to theatres October this year!  ‘Death on the Nile’ - All aboard the love boat! Or should I say: MURDER BOAT! That’s right, Hercule Poirot is back baby! Following the success of 2017’s ‘Death on the Orient Express,’ we have the follow-up murder mystery, ‘Death on the Nile’. A jilted lover intimidated by Wonder Woman herself seems pressed to kill another woman or something, don’t know! All I do know is that there are pretty people (and Russel Brand) on a boat and someone does some stabby/shooty murdering and bam, we get a seductive French man with a glorious mustache on the case to solve said murder and get everyone safely back to shore before there is more stabby/shooty murders! All aboard! Coming to theatres in October 2020!  ‘On the Rocks’ - What if I told you our next trailer was an Apple original film produced by A24?? You’re intrigued.. I’ll continue. What if I told you it’s a dramedy starring Rashida Jones and Bill Fucking Murray?! Yeah, I thought so, sold! Jones stars as a young mother who tries to reconnect with her father, Murray because she feels like her life is falling apart. Murray believes her busy husband may be cheating on her so they spend some quality father/daughter time stalking her husband to see if they can catch him up to no good! But what if she is just in a rut as she says? What if she’s just going through a tough patch in her life and her father is misleading her? What if this movie has no point but is just good old, dark dramedy fun? Either way, you have my interest ‘On the Rocks’! Coming to Apple Plus, October 2020.  ‘Let Him Go’ - To be honest, looking at the poster for this film and seeing the cast, I thought we might be ending trailer park on a bit of a dud note. Remind me not to question Kevin Costner and Diane Lane again! ‘Let Him Go’ tells the story of an elderly couple grieving over the death of their son. All they want to do is take care of their grandson but when their son's widow marries into the terrifying ‘Wee-Boy’ family (doesn’t that name strike fear into your heart?), this may prove more difficult than first intended. All jokes about the hilarious ‘Wee-Boy’ name aside, this family does seem terrifying. Spousal abuse, child abuse, insinuating murder, and delicious steaks await the couple as they try to encourage their dead son's former wife to come home with them so they can take care of their only grandchild. Lots of drama and brooding Costner await us in this thriller! Coming to cinemas, 4th of February 2021.  ‘YASSS OR PASSS -August 27th - (Glendale, Kotara & Tuggerah)  ‘The Eight Hundred’ -  ‘Climbing Blind’ -  ‘Tenet’ -  @2c3pod Aussie Pop Culture Podcast ~ 2 Episodes every Wednesday and Friday + YOUTUBE bonus content.  Podbean, Stitcher, Spotify, Apple Podcasts & Youtube Join our Patreon and support the show to gain exclusive access to other goodies!PATREON Twitchwww.twitch.tv/mitchell2c3podwww.twitch.tv/dylan2c3pod Check out our socials to keep in contactTwitter, Facebook & Instagram GET NEW MERCH FROM TEEPUBLIC.COM

Did the First World War inspire organised crime in inter-war Britain? In this episode we talk to Emma Hanna (University of Kent) about the British crime-drama series Peaky Blinders and how the war service of the main characters may have further brutalised the gangsters as they negotiate the harsh realities of postwar life. Along the way we discuss the difference in experience between sappers and infantry, different manifestations of 'shellshock', and whether the series is a love letter to Birmingham.
