It's kevin27wrld back with another absolute banger of an episode, and we have a packed lineup today. Grab your drinks, get comfortable, and let's jump straight into everything popping off in pop culture and the MCU right now.Avengers: Endgame ā€œEncoreā€ Trailer DropsMarvel Studios just dropped the trailer for Avengers: Endgame - Encore, hyping up tickets going on sale for its theatrical re-release on September 25th. The trailer gives us all the nostalgia—the portals opening, Cap lifting Mjolnir, Tony's ultimate sacrifice—remastered for "Infinity Vision." But the big hook here? They're teasing 4 minutes of brand-new, never-before-seen footage. Marvel is officially framing this re-release as a crucial bridge linking the Infinity Saga directly to Avengers: Doomsday. You already know we're going to be dissecting every single frame on the show!Spider-Man: Brand New Day Keeps Breaking RecordsThe web-slinger simply cannot be stopped. Spider-Man: Brand New Day just crossed a historic milestone, pulling in a wild $858.4 million at the domestic box office. That officially pushes it past Avengers: Endgame ($858.3M) to make it the #1 highest-grossing MCU film of all time domestically, and the #2 highest-grossing movie in domestic history behind The Force Awakens. Spidey is carrying the box office on his back right now, and we gotta talk about what this means for the future of the MCU.Chris Hansen is Beefing with A24?!Finally, we have to touch on the weirdest Hollywood drama of the week: Chris Hansen vs. A24 over their upcoming film Primetime, which stars Robert Pattinson and dramatizes the To Catch a Predator era.The Screening Walkout: Hansen went to an early private screening, but walked out after refusing to sign a contract that he claims forced him to sign away rights to his name, likeness, and legal standing. A24 claims it was just a standard non-disclosure agreement to stop plot leaks, but Hansen wasn't having it.The Ad Hijack: Since he wasn't allowed to see how he's being portrayed, Hansen bought up pre-show ad space on screens playing Primetime to plug his own streaming network (TruBlu), reminding audiences they're watching a "fictionalized Hollywood version" of his real life work. Petty or justified? We're breaking it all down!Hit that subscribe button, leave a review, and let me know your thoughts in the comments. Let's get into it!

Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes. At D23 last week, Disney's fan event showcasing much of their upcoming film and tv projects, we were at last treated to a full trailer for VisionQuest, which will debut October 14 on Disney+. The third and final installment of the trilogy that includes WandaVision and Agatha All Along, VisionQuest looks like it will send us on a trippy ride with The Vision, played by Paul Bettany. Those of us angsting for Avengers: Doomsday story crumbs were also treated with a special look presented for the December blockbuster. The shorter trailer, which was first shown at San Diego Comic Con, starts with dialogue from Sue Storm, indicating our MCU Fantastic Four team is connected to Robert Downey, Jr.'s Victor von Doom. One of the most anticipated announcements in MCU history took place at D23, when Marvel Studios exec Kevin Feige announced the cast of the upcoming X-Men film. The cast includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver will be playing the villainous Mr. Sinister. The movie will be released on May 5, 2028 nearly 10 years after the Disney acquisition of Fox Studios and will kick off the three MCU movies coming out in 2028.Ā The other big nerd-dom announcement at D23 was the release of a first trailer for Ahsoka season 2, which will premiere on January 20, 2027, on Disney+. Lars Mikkelson's Thrawn returns as the big bad for the Rebel Alliance, while in a galaxy truly far, far, away, Ahsoka and Sabine battle themselves and mystic threats while coming face to face with what it means to be a Jedi. This look at the show may clue us in as to why the debut date got pushed to next year. Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling were also at D23 where a clip from Star Wars: Starfighter was shown, but has not yet been released publicly.Peacock has released the first trailer for season 2 of The Office spin off The Paper. The full season drops on September 9.Ā At D23, Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed to Deadline that Johnny Depp is in early talks to reprise his role as Jack Sparrow in an upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean reboot. Sources also emphasize that Depp will serve as a side character, not a central character in the upcoming film.Ā Spider-Man: Brand New Day has passed the $2 billion dollar mark after just 3 weeks in theaters, becoming the eighth film in history to hit the benchmark. The film is the second fastest to hit this mark only behind Avengers: Endgame.Ā At D23, Disney offered up the first look at the live action adaptation of Tangled, which stars Teagan Croft, Milo Manheim, and Kathryn Hahn. The studio also announced a release date of March 31, 2028.Ā Hayden Panettiere, known for her roles on shows such as Heroes and Nashville has died at the age of 36.Ā At D23, Pixar showed off some very early concept art for Incredibles 3 and Coco 2. Message Dan and MikeWe finally sit down to unpack Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth installment in Tom Holland's run as Peter Parker and the first Spidey film from director Destin Daniel Cretton. Picking up four years after No Way Home's spell erased Peter from the world's memory, this is a noticeably darker, more isolated take on the character — Aunt May is gone, his friendships with MJ and Ned are gone, and the arachnid side of his DNA is starting to take over. We dig into how that trauma-driven tone works, and where it doesn't.One of us walks away calling this the weakest of the Tom Holland Spider-Man films, and we're honest about why: a story that feels overcrowded with characters, some shaky CGI work on the Scorpion, and a villain problem that never quite resolves who we're actually supposed to be rooting against. We also talk through the returning cast — Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, Florence Pugh — plus the newer additions, including Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle, Tramell Tillman's William Mesker, Naomi Watts voicing E.D.I.T.H., and a genuinely strong turn from Sadie Sink as Jean Grey that surprised us both.Along the way we get into the film's stunt work and practical martial arts sequences, the choice to make Peter's webs organic again as a nod to Tobey Maguire's era, and what it means that this film is now closing in on two billion dollars worldwide and threatening box office records held by Avengers: Endgame and Titanic. We also share (in maybe too much detail) the theater experience that colored one of our first viewings, because full transparency matters around here.Whether you loved Brand New Day or walked out with the same reservations we did, we want to hear it. And with Avengers: Doomsday looming and a fifth Spider-Man almost certainly on the way, we start speculating about where this saga goes next.If you're not already following along, you can find us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and everywhere else podcasts live, and subscribing to the YouTube channel helps a lot more than you'd think.Support the showOh Brother Podcast:Support the Show! Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Marvel Studios appears to have found the leader of its new mutant team, as Deadline reported last week that Heartstopper and Warfare star Kit Connor has landed the role of Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops, in the future MCU X-Men film. Sources say Connor went through much the same process as Samara Weaving, who was attached as Emma Frost the week prior, meeting with Schreier and Marvel president Kevin Feige alongside a group of candidates who tested after the July 4th holiday before the studio settled on him. Neither Marvel nor Connor has confirmed the casting, and the film, written by Beef creator Lee Sung Jin and The Bear co-creator Joanna Calo, still has no release date. Cyclops has been played on screen before by James Marsden and Tye Sheridan, with Marsden set to reprise the role in December's Avengers: Doomsday.Ā Sony and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossed the one-billion-dollar mark overseas in just twelve days of release, making it the second-fastest film ever to reach that number abroad behind Avengers: Endgame. The Destin Daniel Cretton film now stands at $1.67 billion worldwide, split between $654.3 million domestically and $1.013 billion internationally, which makes it the twelfth highest-grossing movie of all time and only the sixteenth ever to clear a billion in foreign markets alone. Universal had a milestone of its own to celebrate, as Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey passed $1.1 billion worldwide to become the highest-grossing film of his career ahead of The Dark Knight Rises, while also becoming the biggest IMAX release ever with $289 million, and it still has China to open on Friday.Ā James Gunn spent part of a Threads session last week putting down one of the most persistent rumors surrounding Matt Reeves' Batman trilogy, telling a fan who asked whether The Batman Part III was being filmed simultaneously with Part II simply, ā€œI can deny.ā€ The theory had gained steam over years of delays, most recently when a redesigned Part II logo appeared to work a Roman numeral III into the artwork, and it offered fans a tidy explanation for why the sequel has taken so long to arrive. In reality, Part II only began principal photography in London in June, and Warner Bros. has already pushed the film from October 2027 to February 18, 2028.Ā Sony and Nintendo's live-action The Legend of Zelda has cast Australian actor Uli Latukefu as Ganondorf under a multi-picture deal, with Severance's Dichen Lachman playing Impa and The Handmaid's Tale's Yvonne Strahovski reported as a queen character. The late Sam Neill also filmed an undisclosed role before his death on July 13, marking one of the final screen performances of his career.Gareth Edwards has exited Universal and Amblin's untitled Jurassic World Rebirth sequel over creative differences, with the studios now searching for a replacement; David Koepp's script is finished and Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey are all still expected back for a 2027 shoot.A24 released the full trailer for Primetime, the Lance Oppenheim drama that Robert Pattinson produces and stars in as To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen, in theaters September 25.Lionsgate has confirmed that Michael 2 is targeting a production start toward the end of this year or in early 2027, with the sequel to this year's Michael Jackson biopic aiming for a 2028 release.Lionsgate is also developing a new Leprechaun film written by horror veterans Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, reviving a franchise that ran eight movies between 1993 and 2018.Nicholas Hoult has been cast in season 2 of HBO's Harry Potter series as Gilderoy Lockhart, a major character in The Chamber of Secrets that was portrayed by Kenneth Branagh in the 2002 film adaptation.

Already a huge commercial success in the first week following its release, Brand New Day just might be the film that reignites Neil and Skye's love of and enthusiasm for comic book movies. In today's Daily Fix:GTA 6 publisher Take-Two has defended the move to launch the game digital-only. The previous record-holder is Avengers: Endgame, which still holds the record for fastest to $1 billion ticket sales globally.

Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Tom Holland's fourth outing as Peter Parker/Spider-Man opened to a massively successful box office, shattering the domestic opening record previously held by Avengers: Endgame, and raking in nearly $1 billion globally in its first weekend alone - so while it beat Endgame's North American opening take, it comes in just behind it globally. Not a bad start for Disney and Marvel Studios as the conversation around superhero movies ebbs and flows in the zeitgeist. Those numbers exclude the premium IMAX format, as Spidey couldn't web up those screens due to The Odyssey still holding all IMAX screens. While Marvel is on their Spidey high, other headlines have circled the news this week - some good and some disappointing. On a positive note - Samara Weaving has reportedly been cast as Emma Frost. Horror fans will recognize Weaving from the Ready or Not films. Obsession breakout star Inde Navarette confirmed her meeting with Jake Schreier and she mentioned interest in playing Mystique. And for the bad news, Wonder Man will not get a season two after all - even though it was confirmed earlier this year - and both Kevin Feige and Maershala Ali expressed regret about the Blade film; with Feige admitting he feels like a failure for not getting it off the ground and Ali saying he's done with the project.Ā Last week, DC Studios and HBO's Booster Gold series writer David Jenkins said that the project is no longer moving forward. Shortly after he made this statement, IGN reported that the series will, in fact, be moving forward, but with a new creative team. The New York Times reported that Barbie 2 is currently stalled, with Warner Bros. struggling to come to terms with lead talent Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie, and Ryan Gosling. The studio has until December to reach a deal before the right revert back to Mattel. Stephen King's 1996 novel Desperation is getting a film adaptation from Final Destination: Bloodlines directing duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. Sam Raimi will also produce the feature, his first time working with King.Ā Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Jumanji: Open World, which opens in theaters on December 25. The film returns franchise stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan.Ā Amazon MGM Studios is developing a Warhammer 40k animated event series alongside the upcoming live-action version, sources close to the project confirmed to Deadline. Additionally, Henry Cavill, who is set to star, is also on board to be an executive producer.Dave Bautista is in talks to take on the lead role of Kratos in Prime Video's God of War series, replacing Ryan Hurst, who had to drop out of production after he sustained an on set stunt injury.Ā Mary Holland, Star of Ghosts and The Little House on the Prairie, has been cast in a lead role as Sandra in the upcoming DC Studios and HBO Max Superman spin off series that centers on Jimmy Olsen.Ā In a recent interview with Inverse, Jessica Henwick revealed that she declined an offer to reprise her role as Colleen Wing in Daredevil: Born Again season three because she wants to protect the character's perfect ending in Netflix's Iron Fist.

This week on BWN, Patrick returns from vacation just in time for a huge week in the Nerdosphere! The trailer park, compared to a week ago, is very light, as the Nerds discuss trailers for the very strange Wicker and Jumanji: Open World. From there, the guys get caught up with X-Men '97 as they review episodes 5 through 7 of Season 2. With everything from Wolverine getting his adamantium back to Polaris rejoining the team to an impending clash with a deadly version of one of the most popular X-Men, the series continues to impress with its depth and storytelling. There is also a lot of News around the Nerdosphere, including a change of plans for the Booster Gold series, a confirmation that the Blade movie is truly dead, and a disappointing about-face for Wonderman as Season 2 was abruptly canceled, raising some real questions about how Marvel is handling their black actor issue. But, we close up shop this week by reviewing Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Despite the entire movie being leaked online (repeatedly), the latest movie about everyone's favorite wall-crawler was poised to have the second biggest opening box office ever, behind only Avengers: Endgame. The Nerds offer up their thoughts about the movie and answer the burning question: Is this the best Spider-Man movie ever?Ā @WrestlngRealistwww.attitudeofaggression.com@PCTunney@itsmedpp@ViolentAesop@TheMindlessPod@therealcplatt@IWCWarChief@ChairshotMedia@BandwagonNerdsPROWRESTLINGTEES.COM/TheChairshot - Makes a GREAT GIFT!!!About Bandwagon NerdsJoin Patrick O'Dowd, David Ungar, PC Tunney, and DPP as they keep everyone up on all things nerd and maybe add some new nerds along the way. In This Episode We Discuss: Our full Avengers: Doomsday trailer reaction Doctor Doom's possible motivations and master plan Why Thor finally feels like a true leader again Steve Rogers' shocking appearance Is this the real Captain America or a Variant? What do we do when we fail? Not the small, inconvenient failures, but the deep ones that keep us up at night and make us question our worth? This message takes an unexpected but compelling journey through both the Marvel universe and Scripture to explore one of the most universal human experiences. Using the story of Avengers: Endgame as a lens, we examine three instinctive responses to failure that show up not just in superhero stories, but in the lives of biblical figures like Samson, the disciples, and Peter. We see how failure can push us toward fighting, freezing, or fleeing, and how none of those responses lead us where we truly need to go. The deeper question being raised is not just how we handle failure, but what failure actually means for our identity and our standing before God. The answer, rooted in passages like Romans 5:8 and Romans 8:38-39, is both simple and profound: nothing we have done, and nothing done to us, can separate us from the love of God. This is a message that meets us exactly where we are and reminds us that our failures do not get to write the final word over our lives. If you want help in starting this journey, please don't hesitate to reach out! The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has finally arrived, and while it looks visually impressive, did it actually live up to the hype?In this solo Sigma Review, I share my honest reaction to Marvel Studios' biggest film since Avengers: Endgame. We break down the trailer, discuss Doctor Doom's intimidating debut, Thor's return to form, the long-awaited arrival of the X-Men, Loki, Shang-Chi, and what Marvel chose to reveal—and more importantly, what they didn't.I also dive into the state of the MCU after Endgame, why I don't believe "Marvel fatigue" is the real issue, how the abandoned Kang storyline affected the Multiverse Saga, and whether Doomsday has what it takes to restore the excitement that defined the Infinity Saga. Finally, we discuss Marvel's new Infinity Vision format, the Avengers: Endgamere-release, and why I hope Marvel resists the temptation to reveal too much before the film's release. Is Avengers: Doomsday the beginning of a new golden era for the MCU, or are we still waiting for Marvel to find its next great direction? Let's talk about it.

It's Marvel Monday and the Avengers face their ultimate challenge! ABOUT AVENGERS: ENDGAME After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to reverse Thanos' actions and restore balance to the universe. Suddenly, his wife and kids turn to dust and he has no idea why. 23 days later, Tony Stark & Nebula are stuck in space together. She's helping him heal. They're about to run out of oxygen when Captain Marvel shows up to save them. She brings them back to Earth where they're reunited with Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Rhodey & Rocket. The happy reunion doesn't last long. Tony does one of his famous freak outs, saying things he will most certainly regret. Captain Marvel gets the rundown & decides she's going to go kill Thanos herself. Everyone is like this witch shows up out of nowhere and now wants to be the hero, but Thor likes her and says we should go. So they track Thanos down. He's like oh hi. I destroyed the stones. My bad. So Thor cuts his head off. Fast forward 5 years and Scott randomly pops out of the quantum realm machine, very confused. So he goes to talk to the Avengers about his experience. He tells Cap & Natasha about how for him, the 5 years was only 5 minutes. Maybe there's some way to use the quantum realm to go back in time and stop Thanos. Only one guy is smart enough to help - Tony. But now Tony has a daughter & he's not interested in helping. But Tony can't forget about it. He pokes around and figures out how it could work. Scott, Cap, and Natasha turn to the next smartest guy they know - Bruce. He agrees to help and they do some experiments but nothing overly helpful. Tony shows up with a time traveling device and says it's time to get the band back together. They do some testing and find out they can go to the past and bring something back without changing anything. So they have a plan - team up and go get the stones and bring them to the present which would prevent Thanos from being able to do his thing. Banner, Lang, Rogers, and Stark travel back to New York during Loki's 2012 invasion. At the Sanctum Sanctorum, Banner persuades the Ancient One to hand over the Time Stone by promising that all of the Infinity Stones will eventually be returned to their rightful places in time. Plus, Doctor Strange gave it up willingly in his time which is good enough for the Ancient One. Meanwhile, at Stark Tower, Rogers successfully recovers the Mind Stone from Hydra agents posing as S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives. However, Stark and Lang's plan to steal the Space Stone goes wrong, allowing Loki to escape with it. To recover from the setback, Rogers and Stark travel further back to 1970, where Stark obtains an earlier version of the Space Stone and unexpectedly gets the chance to speak with his father. Rogers steals additional Pym Particles needed for their return trip and catches a glimpse of his lost love, Peggy Carter. Meanwhile, Thor and Rocket journey to Asgard in 2013. Rocket extracts the Reality Stone from Jane Foster, while Thor reunites with his mother, Frigga, who snaps him out of his funk and gets his swag and his hammer back. In 2014, Nebula and Rhodey travel to Morag and secure the Power Stone before Peter Quill can retrieve it. Hawkeye and Black Widow head to Vormir, where Red Skull explains that the Soul Stone can only be obtained through the sacrifice of someone you love. Romanoff gives her life so Barton can claim the Stone. As Rhodes and Nebula prepare to return to the present, Nebula's cybernetic implants connect with those of her past self. This allows the 2014 version of Thanos to learn about his future defeat and the Avengers' plan to reverse it. Thanos captures Nebula and sends her 2014 counterpart into the future to infiltrate the Avengers and pave the way for his arrival. So they all return back in the present with the stones, sans Natasha. They put the stones on an iron glove and Bruce agrees that he's probably the best dude for the job. He snaps and immediately collapses. Hawkeye immediately gets a phone call from his wife. It worked!!! But the happiness doesn't last long because 2014 Gamora used the Time Machine to get 2014 Thanos to show up and shoot the Avengers compound up big time. He's like thanks for getting all of the stones together for me. It's giant fight time, folks. And it's not looking great for the Avengers despite the fact that Thor's hammer saw Cap as worthy enough to use it. But just when it's looking bleak, Doctor Strange returns by opening portals for the rest of the Avengers to show up and join the battle. Avengers assemble and IT'S AWESOME! It's a tough battle and Scott is busy getting his van Time Machine up and running since Thanos destroyed the other one so that they can return the stones. Captain Marvel shows up last minute and it's looking like they might do it but Thanos makes the van explode. Thanos gets the gauntlet back but Captain Marvel stops him from snapping his fingers. He's able to free himself. It's looking like a lost cause but Tony looks over at Strange who holds up 1 finger, showing Tony that this is the 1 in 14 million chances they win. Tony is able to get the stones and snap his fingers and make Thanos and his baddies disappear. But unfortunately the blast was too much for Tony and he dies. At Tony's funeral, all the Avengers show up to show their respects. They create a new Time Machine and Captain America goes to return all of the stones to their proper time. But he doesn't return to present day. Well, he does but he's old. He decided to stay in 1970 and grow old with Peggy Carter. Steve gives Sam his shield. We have a new Captain America now.
