In this episode of SpaceTime, we uncover remarkable insights into Mars, Mercury, and the latest developments in space exploration.Hidden Martian Volcano: Jezero MonsScientists have identified a previously overlooked volcano, Jezero Mons, located on the rim of Jezero Crater, where NASA's Perseverance rover is actively collecting samples. This discovery could provide vital clues about Mars' volcanic history and habitability, suggesting that the region may have supported life due to the interplay of volcanic heat and water. The findings, published in Communications Earth and Environment, highlight the need for further exploration of Mars' geology, as volcanism plays a crucial role in understanding the planet's past.Tidal Forces Shaping Mercury's CliffsA new study published in Geophysical Research Planets proposes that tidal forces from the Sun may have contributed to the deformation of Mercury's towering cliffs. Traditionally attributed to cooling and contraction, this research indicates that the planet's unique orbital dynamics could also influence its geological features. The BepiColombo mission, scheduled to arrive at Mercury next year, aims to gather data that could validate these findings and enhance our understanding of the planet's evolution over billions of years.Axiom Space's AX4 Mission Arrives at the ISSThe Axiom Space AX4 mission has successfully docked at the International Space Station for a 14-day stay. This mission, featuring a diverse international crew, aims to conduct over 60 scientific and commercial experiments, furthering Axiom's goal of establishing a private space station in low Earth orbit. Despite facing multiple delays, the mission underscores the growing role of private companies in space exploration.www.spacetimewithstuartgary.com✍️ Episode ReferencesCommunications Earth and Environmenthttps://www.nature.com/commsenv/Geophysical Research Planetshttps://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/24701343Axiom Spacehttps://www.axiomspace.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spacetime-space-astronomy--2458531/support.

Gary Sinise's stage, film and television career has spanned more than four decades. In 1974, at 18 years old, he co-founded Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company. 20 years later, for his performance as Lt Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump, he received nominations for Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Academy Awards, and earned the Best Supporting Actor Award from the National Board of Review and the Commander's Award from the Disabled American Veterans. Other film credits include Apollo 13, Ransom, Snake Eyes, Impostor, The Green Mile, Mission to Mars and The Human Stain. For over 40 years, Gary has stood as an advocate on behalf of America's service members. In 2003, after several USO handshake tours, he formed the “Lt. Dan Band” and began entertaining troops serving at home and abroad. Over the years, the 13-piece cover band has performed hundreds of shows for charities and fundraisers supporting wounded heroes, Gold Star families, veterans and troops around the world. In 2011, to expand upon his individual efforts, he established the Gary Sinise Foundation with the mission to serve and honor America's defenders, veterans, first responders, Gold Star families and those in need. The foundation remains committed to finding new and exciting ways to give back to those who sacrifice for our nation and encouraging others to do the same has become his personal quest and what he hopes will endure as a legacy of service to others. In 2008, he was given the Presidential Citizens Medal, the second-highest civilian honor awarded to citizens for exemplary deeds performed in service of the nation. He is only the third actor ever to receive this honor. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Robert David Steele (July 16, 1952 – August 29, 2021) was an American case officer for the Central Intelligence Agency,[ co-founder of the United States Marine Corps Intelligence Activityand conspiracy theorist.Conspiracy theoriesSteele was a regular guest on Alex Jones's radio show. In an interview by Jones in June 2017, Steele claimed NASA holds a colony on Mars populated by human slaves who were kidnapped as children and sent to the planet.NASA spokesperson, feeling the need to respond about numerous false rumors, said "There are no humans on Mars" and that “there's only one stupid rumor on the Internet? Now that's news."On his Public Intelligence Blog, Steele cited The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a fabricated antisemitic document, at least 42 times to expound on the "Zionist conspiracy". He stated in a September 2019 blog entry that Jews in financial sectors were "a secret society" that "believes [itself] to be exempt from all laws and customs", leading to accusations of antisemitism, and called for the incarceration of Jews who were insufficiently loyal to the republic. He described the Holocaust as being a "contrived myth" and Zionism as “a cancer on humanity” urging the eradication of "every Zionist who refuses to be loyal to their country of citizenship and the rule of law.”In September 2020, he implied "two Zionists", one of whom was Yitzhak Rabin, were in Dallas and somehow involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Additionally, he claimed Rabin and Dick Cheney agreed on a proposal for the September 11 attacks: "The Zionists installed the controlled demolitions that assisted what I believe was clearly a directed energy controlled frequency event in the twin towers, controlled demolitions alone for WTC seven, and a massive coverup was executed….9/11 [legal] cases did not go to trial; controlled Zionist judges and prosecutors ensured that all cases were generously settled".Steele was the organizer of the Arise USA tour, a three-month tour of all 50 American states.[1] The Daily Beast reported the tour began in May 2021. Steele promoted Donald Trump's claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election and told his audiences of "the treason and high crimes represented by the fake pandemic, unconstitutional lockdown, mask idiocy, and the deaths and sterilization and mutations associated with the untested toxic 'vaccines'".[14] The tour featured speakers such as Oath Keeper Richard Mack and conspiracy theory promoter Sacha Stone. In July 2021, he held a demonstration in Belfast, Maine to claim that the 2020 presidential election was rigged and called COVID-19 a hoax.[15][16] He claimed to be the first person to call COVID-19 a hoax.[5] The tour concluded in August 2021, following allegations that $300,000 had been stolen from the tour's budget.[17] He also promoted the QAnon conspiracy theory.[1]Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

Recorded at the 2025 Humans to the Moon and Mars Summit (H2M2) in Washington, D.C., this episode features two powerful conversations about the future of human space exploration. Hosted by Mat Kaplan, senior communications adviser at The Planetary Society, these panel discussions explore the scientific and diplomatic foundations guiding humanity’s journey beyond Earth. The first panel, Space Science: A Vital National Interest, features James Green, former NASA chief scientist and chair of the Explore Mars advisory board, James Garvin, chief scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Britney Schmidt, astrobiologist and associate professor at Cornell University, and John Mather, Nobel Prize–winning astrophysicist and senior scientist for the James Webb Space Telescope. They discuss how space science drives innovation, strengthens U.S. national priorities, and deepens our understanding of the universe, especially in the face of proposed funding cuts. In the second panel, Artemis Accords: International Collaboration in Deep Space, Mike Gold of Redwire, Marc Jochemich of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Adnan Mohammad Alrais of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, and Sohair Salam Saber of The Hague Institute for Global Justice explore how diplomacy and shared values are shaping global participation in lunar exploration. The conversation also highlights the Washington Compact, an effort to bring shared values and responsible behavior in space to commercial companies and other non-governmental organizations. We wrap up the show with a new What’s Up segment with Bruce Betts, where we talk about what could happen if the Gateway lunar space station is canceled, and how that would impact humanity’s dreams for Mars. The rover's findings include unique boxwork patterns formed by groundwater, suggesting that even as Mars dried up, water was still present below the surface. As Curiosity ascends Mount Sharp, scientists are eager to understand the implications of these patterns and the mineral cements involved, which may hold clues to Mars' climatic history and the potential for ancient microbial life.Solar Flares and Weather PatternsA groundbreaking study published in the Astronomical Journal has uncovered a connection between solar flares and short-term changes in weather patterns on exoplanets. Researchers found that flares from a planet's host star can cause measurable climate shifts within days, highlighting the importance of solar activity in modulating atmospheric behavior. This research not only enhances our understanding of exoplanet habitability but also suggests that solar variability may influence weather systems on Earth, particularly in volatile regions.Nasa's In-Flight Imagery ProjectNASA's Scientifically Calibrated in Flight Imagery (SCIFLI) team is set to gather vital data during the reentry of a European aerospace company's demonstration capsule. Utilizing advanced instruments, including a spectrometer and high-definition telescope, SCIFLI aims to capture real-time performance data that will refine computational models for future space missions. What happens when a billionaire tech mogul starts to look less like a CEO and more like a modern-day messiah? This week, Chelsea, Amanda, and Reese team up with historian and authoritarianism expert Ruth Ben-Ghiat (@ruthbenghiat) to explore the cult of personality surrounding Elon Musk. The man behind Tesla, SpaceX, X, and a growing empire of followers who treat his every post like prophecy. From the mysterious emerald mine origin story to estranged family ties, secret children, and that whole “saving humanity by going to Mars” thing, we unpack how Musk has cultivated a mythos that feels more like a belief system than a business plan. What does it mean when a company's success is inseparable from the quirks of its leader? And how does social media supercharge a fanbase into a digital congregation? Uranus enters Gemini for the first time since the 1940s this July, completing a historic 7-year astrological transition. In this episode, astrologer Tony Howard breaks down what this rare planetary shift means for you, plus essential guidance for navigating Mercury retrograde in Leo and the powerful Saturn-Neptune conjunction. In This Episode: Why Uranus in Gemini represents the final piece of our new outer planet configuration How this shift from fixed earth to mutable air changes the game entirely The US Uranus return in 2027 and what it means for freedom of speech Mercury retrograde in Leo (July 17-31) and the transformative cazimi conjunction on July 31st Saturn and Neptune stationing retrograde - time to wake up from the illusion The information wars and how to navigate truth in an age of misinformation Best and worst dates for taking important actions this July Who's most affected: early degree planets in cardinal, fixed, and mutable signs Key July 2025 Dates Mentioned: July 1: Favorable for early morning actions July 4-12: Avoid major decisions July 17: Mercury stations retrograde in Leo July 31: Powerful Sun-Mercury cazimi conjunction at 9° Leo Big Picture Themes: This new Uranus-Neptune-Pluto configuration won't happen again for another 84 years. We're witnessing the birth of a completely new astrological era - one that requires us to surf these cosmic waves with consciousness and respect for their transformative power. If you have planets in early degrees of any sign, you're particularly called to step up during this transition. Tony shares practical wisdom for working with these intense energies rather than being overwhelmed by them.Resources Mentioned: Astrology University events and webinars Previous episodes on Saturn-Neptune conjunction "Don't Bite the Hook" episode on Mars square Uranus Website: www.astrologyuniversity.comThis podcast is for educational and entertainment purposes. Last week to book a 1-1 reading with me for this season at https://www.quietmindastrology.com/readingIt's July 2025, and we are officially at the midpoint of the year. This is the time to pause, reflect, and realign with your deeper truth and long-term vision. In this episode, I go deep into the energy of the July transits—from Neptune and Saturn turning retrograde in Pisces, to the fiery Full Moon in Sagittarius, to the more grounded shift of Mars into Virgo at the end of the month. This is also a powerful time to get clarity on what's next for you. That's why I'm offering Mid-Year Clarity Readings again—something I only do once a year. Last year they sold out, so if you're feeling called to make a shift, get your chart read, or understand your timing more deeply, go to quietmindastrology.com/readings to book before this offer expires on Monday July 7th. We cover all 10 major transits this month, including:July 2: Calendar midpoint of the year—ideal for stillness, journaling, and reflection.July 5: Neptune retrograde begins in Uttara Bhadrapada—spiritual reflection, compassion, or escapism?July 10: Full Moon in Purva Ashadha, Sagittarius—nurturing joy, truth, and adventure.July 13: Saturn retrograde in Pisces—revisiting boundaries, managing fear, and reestablishing practices.July 16: Sun in Cancer—emotional leadership, nurturing, sensitivity, and boundaries.July 18: Mercury retrograde in Cancer—sentimental reflection, emotional conversations, and miscommunication.July 21: Moon exalted in Taurus—emotional nourishment, connection, and resistance to change.July 24: New Moon in Pushya—emotional intention setting, deep healing, and aligning with how you want to feel.July 26: Venus enters Gemini—playfulness, creativity, distraction, and vata management.July 28: Mars enters Virgo—taking grounded, practical action with disciplined focus.I also dive into how Mars and Ketu in Leo have created intense energy that's finally resolving by the end of the month.Key takeaways:— Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu & Ketu are setting the themes of your life—check the archives for deep dives on each.— Neptune retrograde through the end of the year invites you to discern illusion from intuition.— Saturn retrograde reminds you to refine your emotional regulation, commitments, and boundaries.— Mercury retrograde in Cancer is great for reviewing old journals, healing conversations, and sentimental memories.— Venus in Gemini can bring joyful creativity—but also overwhelm. Focus your attention wisely.— Mars in Virgo is the real reset point—time to organize, prioritize and take action.5 Key Quotes from the Episode:“The sun standing still at the solstice reminds us to pause and realign. Take five minutes of stillness. That alone can be powerful.”“Neptune retrograde is less about escape and more about returning to spiritual clarity. What illusions are you ready to shed?”“You don't need to do all 15 things on your to-do list—just do the most important one, with full focus.”“The emotional scale is one of the most helpful tools I've found. Anger can actually be progress if you've been stuck in depression.”“What you really want isn't the thing—it's the feeling. The more you nurture that feeling now, the more you align with it.”–Free Weekly Horoscopes & Exclusive offers: http://www.quietmindastrology.com/freehoroscopesFree Vedic Birth Chart & Training: http://www.quietmindastrology.com/freebirthchartInstagram:http://www.instagram.com/quietmindastrologyYouTube:http://www.quietmindastrology.com/youtubeMentorship Waitlist:http://www.quietmindastrology.com/mentorship
John and I talked with Doug Messier for a single Hotel Mars program on SpaceX launches, the latest with Starship, including troubleshooting recent launch failures. Doug also talked costs, testing, technical problems, and timelines going forward for essential SpaceX and Starship related programs. Doug reviewed Block 1,2, and 3 for Super Heavy though he said things were not yet clear fro Block 3. Doug was asked about an ongoing risk for debris falling on populated areas. Don't miss his comment on this potential risk factor given he said they had a very thin and narrow needed to fly through over the Gulf. We spend so much time trying to grow our business, but here's a question most entrepreneurs never ask: Am I actually ready for the success I'm chasing? In this episode, I'm sharing the liberating (and sometimes uncomfortable) process of honestly assessing whether you're prepared for the growth you're working toward. Because here's the thing - if you're not ready for success, your nervous system will find ways to sabotage it. I'll walk you through the specific fears that came up for me, the common patterns I see with clients, and the practical steps I took to prepare myself for explosive growth while still actively building my business. In this episode, I share:
Geologist Steve Squyres risked his career and millions of dollars to get two rovers roaming on Mars. But the mission almost didn't make it to the launch pad. Steve and NASA engineer Jennifer Trosper describe the many obstacles the team faced in getting Spirit and Opportunity ready, from ripped parachutes to fuzzy camera feeds, and the problem-solving it took to safely land the twin vehicles on Martian soil.“The Leap” is a 10-episode audio series that profiles scientists willing to take big risks to push the boundaries of discovery. Cosmic Curiosities: Exploring Neutron Stars and Gravitational WavesIn this engaging episode of Space Nuts, hosts Heidi Campo and Professor Fred Watson embark on a fascinating journey through listener questions that probe the depths of astrophysics and cosmology. From the nature of neutron stars to the mysteries of gravitational waves, this episode is brimming with insights that will expand your understanding of the universe.Episode Highlights:- Neutron Stars vs. Pulsars: The episode opens with a thought-provoking question from Dean in Washington, D.C., asking whether all neutron stars are pulsars. Fred clarifies the distinction between these celestial objects, explaining that not all neutron stars emit pulsations, with many having “retired” from their energetic displays.- Gravitational Waves and Mass Conversion: New listener Ben dives into the complexities of merging neutron stars and the resulting gravitational waves. Fred explores the intricate relationship between mass and energy, shedding light on how these cosmic events contribute to our understanding of the universe's fabric.- Galactic Mysteries and the Big Bang: Craig from Marimbula raises intriguing questions about the implications of massive galaxies observed by the James Webb Space Telescope. Fred discusses how these findings fit into current cosmological models and the significance of the Big Bang theory in understanding the universe's age.- Meteors on Mars: Listener Martin from Bloomington, Indiana, wonders about the appearance of meteors on Mars compared to Earth. Fred explains how the thin Martian atmosphere affects meteor visibility and the likelihood of impacts, offering insights into the unique conditions on the Red Planet. For more Space Nuts, including our continuously updating newsfeed and to listen to all our episodes, visit our website. BEST OF TST: What talks for five hours and says nothing? David Wilcock, the spiritual superhero who turned the Rapture and Armageddon into a new age cult of ascension and final battles between white and black hats. In one of his latest updates he claims that the process of discovery in a lawsuit against him is itself an act of harassment and threat, despite the fact he is the man of disclosure. Further, a court is threatening to arrest him if he does not turn over certain documents, something super ironic considering he has pushed the idea of mass arrests for people engaged in illegal activities. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. n 1964, Gene Decode learned from his father, a scientist with Martin Marietta at the time, about covert missions to the Moon and Mars. His father was working on a device for scooping samples from the Mars surface, and told him that Mars had an atmosphere that supported vegetation and some animal life. Decode subsequently served as a senior NCO in the US Navy for over 20 years and met naval operatives who shared more details about covert operations around the world. In this Exopolitics Today interview, Decode discusses Mars, underground biolabs and supersoldiers in Ukraine, and Israel's attack on Iran. He further discusses the Palantir AI system and how it is being supported at the highest level of government. Decode also shares his insights into why the Vatican selected an American Pope, and the differences between the Galactic Federation of Worlds and the Confederation of Planets.Gene DeCode's website is: https://www.genedecode.org/

BOCA CHICA, DREAMING OF TEXS RANGERS FOR MARS: 3/4: Red Sky Morning: The Epic True Story of Texas Ranger Company F, by Joe Pappalardo https://www.amazon.com/Red-Sky-Morning-Ranger-Company/dp/1250275245/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= Between 1886 and 1888, Sergeant James Brooks, of Texas Ranger Company F, was engaged in three fatal gunfights, endured disfiguring bullet wounds, engaged in countless manhunts, was convicted of second-degree murder, and rattled Washington, D.C., with a request for a pardon from the US president. His story anchors the tale of Joe Pappalardo's Red Sky Morning, an epic saga of lawmen and criminals set in Texas during the waning years of the “Old West.” Alongside Brooks are the Rangers of Company F, who range from a pious teetotaler to a cowboy fleeing retribution for killing a man. They are all led by Captain William Scott, who cut his teeth as a freelance undercover informant but was facing the end of his Ranger career. Company F hunted criminals across Texas and beyond, killing them as needed, and were confident they could bring anyone to “Ranger justice.” But Brooks's men met their match in the Conner family, East Texas master hunters and jailbreakers who were wanted for their part in a bloody family feud. The full story of Company F's showdown with the Conner family is finally being told, with long-dead voices being heard for the first time. This truly hidden history paints the grim picture of neighbors' and relatives' becoming snitches and bounty hunters, and a company of Texas Rangers who waded into the conflict only to find themselves over their heads—and in the fight of their lives. 1865 BROWNSVILLE

1907 FORT WORTH

Mars and the Moon stage a spectacular encounter this evening. The Moon will slide just a fraction of a degree from the planet, which looks like a bright star. Something we’ve learned about both of these worlds is that they have a lot of frozen water. On the Moon, it’s mixed in with the dirt and pebbles, or buried in craters that never see the Sun. On Mars, it’s also mixed in at the surface, but it’s also found in the polar ice caps, in layers of frost, and elsewhere. On Mars, there’s even evidence of liquid water far below the surface. A study last year said there could be a lot of water buried in spaces in the rocks about 10 miles down – enough water to cover the surface of Mars in an ocean about a mile deep. And earlier this year, scientists in Japan reported more evidence of that water. They analyzed the observations of the InSight lander, which operated for four years. The craft listened for “marsquakes.” Sound waves from the quakes traveled through the planet. The new study looked at how different types of waves rippled through the interior. Each type of wave travels differently as it passes through different materials – rock versus water, for example. So comparing the waves revealed the likely presence of water miles below the surface. On Earth, where there’s water, there’s life. So an ocean’s-worth of water could provide a home for life on the Red Planet. Script by Damond Benningfield

The crescent Moon and two bright pinpoints stairstep up the western sky this evening. Regulus, the star that represents the heart of the lion, is to the upper left of the Moon. And the planet Mars is about the same distance to the upper left of Regulus. The trio sets in late evening. The largest feature on the Moon has never been seen directly by human eyes – only by robots. That’s because it’s on the Moon’s far side – the hemisphere that always faces away from us. Only a sliver of its edge can be seen from Earth. And Apollo astronauts saw only a sliver of the opposite edge. South Pole-Aitken Basin is about 1600 miles wide – one of the largest impact features anywhere in the solar system. It probably formed when a giant asteroid slammed into the Moon soon after the Moon was born. A Chinese lander, Chang’e 6, touched down in the basin last June. A few weeks later, it brought about four pounds of rocks and dust to Earth. Analysis of some of the samples confirmed that the basin was gouged four and a quarter billion years ago. But the dark volcanic rock that coats much of the basin formed just 2.8 billion years ago, when an ocean of magma cooled and crystallized. Samples from the near side of the Moon indicate that it was coated with magma at the same time. So the entire lunar surface was covered by an ocean of molten rock – the side we can see, and the side we can’t. Script by Damond Benningfield
