He studied at and performed UCB, iO, and the Groundlings and through that experience became a commercial actor. But during his journey of acting in dozens of commercials, he fell in love with cameras, lenses and lighting. Nathan started directing sketches and short films around UCB with his now writing and directing partner, Echo Kellum. This Mother's Day weekend Dave, John, and Jeff gush about Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, the sensational second feature film by writer/director Kelly Fremon Craig, adapted from the 1970 novel by Judy Blume. Starring Abby Ryder Fortson, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates, as three generations of ladies in this coming-of-age teen dreamed about accepting religion, friends, and the tribulations of adolescence, it's honestly hard to talk about this movie without gushing about it, so please crack open a beer and get into the discussion with us!  We also gripe about producers messing over writers despite having (and losing) billions of dollars, as well as pharmacy stores a la CVS and Duane Reade locking up all of their supply but then their staff being nowhere when you need anything… something has to be done before Amazon swallows them up! Happy Wine Wednesday! We are delighted to return this week to discuss NBC's Grand Crew. It's a no brainer that a podcast where we drink wine and talk about pop culture would cover this amazing show focused on a group of friends who also appreciate the joys of bonding over a good glass of wine.  Special guest Candi returns this week to discuss why you should absolutely be watching Grand Crew and why NBC needs to renew this show for several more seasons. During the main discussion, we talk about the first two episodes of the show.  Heads up, we understand that everyone is probably experiencing  a lot slap discourse  fatigue.  The topic organically came up in our discussion about the Grand Crew pilot, which opens up with a discussion about Black men having the space to be layered and complicated.  Following that, we talk about everything we liked and didn't like about the first two episodes of Grand Crew.  Spoiler alert - the only thing we didn't like was NBC's failure to properly promote this terrific show. As always, we get into the Qs that need some As.  We share the moment from the first two episode in which we truly felt seen by the Grand Crew writers.  We also celebrate the ensemble cast and the fun personalities reflected in all of the characters.  Of course we had to share which character we related to most.  We talk about what separates Grand Crew from other friendship comedies, as well as how the writers have woven contemporary topics into the show without coming off as a regurgitation of Twitter threads.Regular listeners know that we drink, we know things, we use adult language and we get THIRSTY! The main discussion closes out with the members of the Grand Crew ensemble with whom we'd like to get wine drunk. For those of you who were wise enough to watch the entire first season of Grand Crew, we have a fun spoiler segment where we talk about the rest of the season. As always, we love you for listening.  Find and follow Candi on Twitter here.Follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @MoreWinePod! In the promo, Dinah Drake, Curtis Holt and Rene Ramirez go on to form their own super team. However, this quickly leads to strife with Oliver's original team, who stands by his side. In addition to fighting James' team, Oliver will ultimately come to blows with his former recruits. The teaser also contains a few other surprising reveals, such as Oliver's daring rescue of his son William and William's trip to the bunker. https://www.cbr.com/arrow-season-6-midseason-trailer/    CW boss 'optimistic' that Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and Legends will return (Date: 07 Jan 2018) Network president Mark Pedowitz is “optimistic” that Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow will return next season, he told EW at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour Sunday. “At the moment, it's a little too soon. We're noted for announcing at winter TCA that we're picking up shows, we just weren't ready to do that yet. A couple more weeks [and] we'll probably get around to it. I'm pretty confident we'll see them all back.” http://ew.com/tv/2018/01/07/arrow-flash-supergirl-legends-tomorrow-renewals/   Could The Huntress Return?(Date: 19 Jan 2018) When Oliver asked why Jerry couldn't just ask his cousin, Helena Bertinelli/Huntress (Jessica De Gouw) for help, Jerry remarked that she'd "gone underground." "I want to say, 'Absolutely,'" executive producer Marc Guggenheim said about Huntress' potential return. "Jessica De Gouw has expressed an absolute willingness to come back. Jessica's a favorite actor of mine, and the Huntress is a favorite character of mine. I want to make it happen in Season 6. We've got some plans for the later half of the year that I think she will fit into really well, so we'll see." http://comicbook.com/dc/2018/01/19/arrow-season-6-episode-10-the-huntress-helena-bertinelli/   GENERAL DC NEWS:   Legends of Tomorrow adds Keiynan Lonsdale as series regular (Date: 19 Jan 2018) Welcome to the Waverider, Kid Flash! Following the departure of Franz Drameh and Victor Garber, Keiynan Lonsdale has joined the cast of DC's Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, EW has learned. Executive producer Phil Klemmer said in a statement, “We loved working with Keiynan in our series premiere — the episode in which we learned that in between seasons 2 and 3 he had been fighting crime in Central City with Nick Zano's Nate Heywood. So when his character stepped away from Flash to go on walkabout, after being dumped and feeling somewhat estranged from his family and team, we knew that Wally West would fit in perfectly on Legends. After all, our show is about a collection of unlikely heroes who all began their journeys questioning who they are and where they belong — only to find those answers while traveling through time and having wacky adventures. So now, Wally West is not only back in the company of old friends from the Arrowverse, he's fighting alongside a former enemy and career arsonist Mick Rory/Dom Purcell. By the end of this season, Wally will learn that the Legends have a different definition of what it means to be a hero.” http://ew.com/tv/2018/01/19/legends-of-tomorrow-adds-keiynan-lonsdale-as-series-regular/ The Flash: Elongated Man's Super Costume Revealed in New Photo (Date: 17 Jan 2018) In the photo, Dibney sports a burgundy jacket with white accents. The jacket has a gauge on the left shoulder, not unlike the one worn by Firestorm. He also wears a pair of goggles, with black eye makeup underneath to obscure his face so that he won't be easily recognizable. The costume is likely of Cisco's design, since it will have to stretch and conform to Dibney's metahuman abilities. https://www.cbr.com/the-flash-elongated-man-costume-2/ Arrow Cast and Crew Interviews:   Arrow's Echo Kellum Reveals Why the Stakes Are Higher Than Ever Before (Date: 18 Jan 2018) Speaking to CBR, Mr. Terrific himself Echo Kellum offered some insight into how Team Arrow's big split will affect his character moving forward. Fortunately for fans, the divide won't impact Curtis' happy-go-lucky attitude, though it will bring a lot of conflict into his relationship with his business partner Felicity Smoak. Kellum also teased his favorite scene from the midseason premiere, shared his hopes for Curtis' love life and explained why Cayden James' supervillain team will raise the stakes like never before. https://www.cbr.com/arrow-echo-kellum-divided-interview/ Arrow's Echo Kellum Talks The Importance of Black Superheroes (Date: 18 Jan 2018) "I think for myself and for Curtis, it is something we're both very proud of," Kellum told ComicBook.com. "I'm so proud and I feel so fortunate to get to portray a hero like this, an inclusive hero, you know, part of the LGBT community, a person of color who's a person of, you know, endless optimism and positivity. And it's a role that I love to play and as far as Curtis, I know he takes a lot of pride in that, too, you know? "I personally, I feel like, you know, what a time to be alive where, you know, I get to see so many people, I can be on TV, I get to portray that," he said. "I get to help people of color, people of the LGBTQIA community so like they can do it too. And for me, that was so important growing up” http://comicbook.com/dc/2018/01/19/arrow-black-lightning-echo-kellum-black-superheroes/   NEXT EPISODE   Link to Promo: (Date: 18 Jan 2018) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNXBYnNQjLU   Episode: “We Fall” [Season 6 Episode 11] Air Date: Thursday, January 25, 2018 Summary: William gets caught in the cross hairs as Oliver attempts to stop Cayden James with just the original Team Arrow. Emmy-Winner Michael Emerson Boards Arrow for S6 (Date: 22 July 2017) a. Emmy Award-winner Michael Emerson has joined the cast of Arrow for the series' sixth season, as revealed at a panel for the DC Comics-based series at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The Lost alum will board the series in a recurring capacity; he will play a member of a villainous cabal. Additionally, it was confirmed David Nykl (who plays Oliver Queen's friend/mentor/nemesis, Anatoly Knyazev) will return to the series. b. http://www.cbr.com/michael-emerson-cast-arrow-season-6/ 2. Arrow Showrunner Addresses Olicity In Season 6 (Date: 24 July 2017) a. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim said during an interview at Comic Con International with Comicbook, “I'm going to give a very unsatisfying answer to the Olicity fans, which is that we sort of set Oliver and Felicity on a certain trajectory starting with 520, and you saw a little bit of it in 523. We're continuing it. I will say that the events of the finale did throw a little bit of a wrench into their slow rekindling of their relationship.” b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/24/arrow-olicity-season-6/ 3. Spoiler Room: Scoop on Game of Thrones, Arrow, Westworld, and more (Date: 20 July 2017) a. Do you have any scoop on the new villain (or villains) on Arrow next season? — Here's a little teaser: “As usual, every season we want to try to up the stakes and do something different,” EP Wendy Mericle tells me. “This will be something we've never seen before. The villain will be hopefully as dynamic and as interesting as the ones we've had in the past. These people, or this person, won't just be somebody that's a thorn in Oliver's side, but it'll effect the whole team personally and very directly.” Could Cayden James and Helix be the culprits she speaks of? “You never know,” Mericle says. “They are still in the wind. We don't like to leave those threads dangling.” b. http://ew.com/tv/2017/07/20/spoiler-room-game-thrones-arrow-westworld/ 4. One Fan-Favorite Arrow Character Will Receive Flashbacks In Season 6 (Date: 26 July 2017) a. Marc Guggenheim has revealed that a fan-favorite character will receive flashbacks for the very first time in Season 6. In an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, Guggenheim had this to say about Season 6, “You're gonna still see flashbacks. It won't be every episode and it won't be serialized. They'll be character specific and I'll give you one example... as you saw in the trailer Manu Bennett is back for the season premiere and he's also coming back for a special two-part episode in the first half of the season where we're really going to be focusing hard on his character, post everything he's experienced on the show and we intend to do a Slade Wilson flashback story.” b. http://www.cinemablend.com/television/1685200/one-fan-favorite-arrow-character-will-receive-flashbacks-in-season-6 5. ARROW Season 6 SDCC '17 Trailer Finds Oliver Queen In A Brand New Role (Date: 22 July 2017) a. The Arrow season 6 trailer reveals that Slade made it off Lian Yu before Prometheus' trap could blast him to smithereens. But what about Diggle, Felicity and the rest of Team Arrow? There's was no sign of any of the regulars Arrow fans have come to know and love over the course of five seasons. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/arrow/arrow-season-6-sdcc-17-trailer-finds-oliver-queen-in-a-brand-new-role-a152758 6. Arrow Showrunner Says Richard Dragon Will Be Grounded Crime Lord (Date: 25 July 2017) a. Richard Dragon, one of the last major Green Arrow villains yet to appear on Arrow, is coming in season six -- and he will be different from the series' other big bads, according to series executive producer Marc Guggenheim. "You know, what I really like about our interpretation of Richard is, he's very grounded," Guggenheim said. "He's not a flamboyant big bad, he doesn't wear a costume, he really is a crimelord sort of in the Tobias Church model. For Tobias we only really saw him for about five episodes, so we were excited about th prospect of doing a cool, gritty crime lord, but for a longer period of time. We've never really done that on the show before, so it's different." b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/25/arrow-showrunner-says-richard-dragon-will-be-grounded-crime-lord/ GENERAL DC TV NEWS 1. Legends of Tomorrow: Sara's Season 3 Love Interest is a New Character (Date: 25 July 2017) a. Love is in the air for Waverider captain Sara Lance. When the character returns in Legends of Tomorrow Season 3, she will find herself embroiled in a new romance. On Twitter, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that this romance will be with a new character. Guggenheim and fellow executive producer Phil Klemmer revealed that Sara will get a new love interest at Comic-Con International's Legends of Tomorrow panel. “It's definitely time for Sara to settle down, or at least have a relationship that's more than a roll in the hay. It's hard when you're travelling through time,” Klemmer announced. “It's definitely been a priority of ours to re-establish Sara's bisexuality in Season 3,” Guggenheim added. “It's a big, important thing for us this year.” b. http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-sara-love-interest-new-character/ 2. The Flash: Tom Felton not returning as series regular (Date 25 July 2017) a. At the close of season 3, Julian was still a member of Team Flash, but with Barry now trapped in the Speed Force, and the show jumping ahead at least six months, it appears that Julian has left the team. The character was missing from the new season 4 footage in the recently released trailer, which was shown at Comic-Con, an event the Harry Potter alum also didn't attend. As of yet, Felton has not booked a return to the show, but as with all actors in the Berlanti-verse, there's a chance we could see Felton again if it makes sense for the story and his scheduling permits it. b. http://ew.com/tv/2017/07/25/flash-tom-felton-not-returning-season-4/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter 3. THE FLASH Season 4 Casts The Thinker; Danny Trejo And More Join As Key DC Comics Characters (Date 23 July 2017) a. Neil Sandilands (The 100) is set to take on the role of Clifford Devoe/The Thinker, a metahuman with a mega mind who embarks on a season-long battle with The Flash that pits the "fastest man alive" against the "fastest mind alive." Danny Trejo (Machete) is Breacher, a feared bounty hunter from Earth-19 and the imposing father of inter-dimensional bounty hunter Gypsy. His mission is to prevent any inter-dimensional traveller from threatening life on his planet — especially his daughter's. Kim Engelbrecht (Dominion) is The Mechanic, a highly intelligent engineer who designs devices for Devoe. As Devoe's right hand, she's the truest of true believers who'll stop at nothing to help him implement his plan to fix humanity. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/the_flash/the-flash-season-4-casts-the-thinker-danny-trejo-and-more-join-as-key-dc-comics-characters-a152752 4. The Flash Gets a New Suit in Season 4 Set Photo (Date 29 July 2017) a. Set photos captured by YVRShoots.com show Gustin on set during July 28th, wearing what appears to be a new Flash suit. This comes after Gustin shared a photo of part of the suit on Instagram, and spoke about his desire for a new costume during an interview with ComicBook.com at San Diego Comic-Con. Interestingly, the suit is appears to be almost identical to the suit worn by the 2024 version of Barry Allen, which was briefly seen in last season's 'The Once and Future Flash'. b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/29/the-flash-season-4-new-suit-barry-allen-grant-gustin/ 5. SUPERGIRL Season 3 Trailer Released; Calista Flockhart Set To Recur & Four New Cast Additions Announced (Date 22 July 2017) a. The CW has confirmed that Calista Flockhart will return for Supergirl season three and it sounds like she'll be popping in a lot more frequently this time around as she's secured recurring status. She'll first appear in the season premiere on October 9. Additionally, Adrian Pasdar, Carl Lumbly, Yael Grobglas, and Emma Tremblay have all joined the cast. Pasdar will play Morgan Edge, a ruthless real estate developer who will find himself at odds with Lena Luthor. Lumbly will play J'onn's father M'yrnn J'onzz, a pacifist religious leader on Mars. Grobglas will play Psi, a psychic villain who uses people's minds against them. Tremblay will play Ruby, a smart kid who's fascination with Supergirl lands her in serious trouble. The official season three trailer gives us our first look at Odette Annable as Reign and Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/supergirl/supergirl-season-3-trailer-released-calista-flockhart-set-to-recur-four-new-cast-additions-announced-a152739 6. LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 3 Trailer Released; Both Captain Cold & Damien Darhk Will Return (Date 22 July 2017) a. The CW announced today that both Wentworth Miller and Neal McDonough will reprise their roles as Captain Cold and Damien Darhk, respectively, on the upcoming third season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Miller will actually return in a recurring capacity, but he won't exactly be the Leonard Snart we came to know and love in seasons one and two. He'll instead be playing a brand new version of fan-favorite character, which should lead to some interesting interactions between him and Mick. During the panel, executive producer Phil Klemmer teased, “Mick Rory needs his pal, but unfortunately he's not going to get the version of his pal that he remembers.” Meanwhile, McDonough will be upped to a series regular and will also come with his own, more dangerous, changes. "We'll be meeting a new version of Damien Darhk, a little less silly, a little more formidable." Arthur Darvill will also be back as Rip Hunter, but in a recurring role, and it sounds like he'll be coming into conflict with his former teammates. “Last season, the Legends were the only game in town,” Klemmer said. “Now they're competing with the best and brightest. Rip Hunter has reconstituted what the Time Masters were, so the existential question for the Legends is where do we fit into this universe?” As for new additions, a new villain will arise in the form of Kuasa, Vixen's granddaughter. Tala Ashe will also join the Waverider crew as Zari Adrianna Tomaz, a Muslim-American woman from 2030. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/legends_of_tomorrow/legends-of-tomorrow-season-3-trailer-released-both-captain-cold-damien-darhk-will-return-a152743 7. Spoiler Room: Scoop on Supergirl, Once Upon a Time, Defenders, and more (Date 27 July 2017) a. Is there any chance Alura is actually still alive on Supergirl? — With Erica Durance joining the show in a recast of Alura, EW pressed new showrunners Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner for answers at Comic-Con. “Shrouded in mystery, those questions,” Queller said coyly. Rovner added: “We wanted to keep Alura's presence on the show because it really connects Kara to Krypton and her roots and what it meant to see her family and her planet destroyed. It's an emotional grounding that's always important.” However, there's a good chance Mon-El ended up in the Phantom Zone — you know, the same Kryptonian prison that Alura had a hand in sending criminals to, so what if she escaped the destruction of Krypton and ended up there herself? Another dodge from the EPs: “Where Mon-El is and how he comes back is the central mystery of our season,” Queller said. “But the theme of this season is what does it mean to be human? Kara is going to be especially grappling with that, and all of the characters are. The loss of her family and Krypton impacts that a lot. The mother-daughter relationship is something we still want to explore in whatever fashion.” b. http://ew.com/tv/2017/07/27/spoiler-room-supergirl-once-upon-time-defenders/ 8. THE FLASH Star Grant Gustin Says It's The Show's Goal To Adapt CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS (Date 25 July 2017) a. Speaking to ComicBook at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Grant Gustin confirmed that while it's still a long time from happening, it's been the goal to eventually adapt Crisis on Infinite Earths on the show . "We don't really talk about it on a yearly basis but it was mentioned early on and that's a goal. Obviously we'd have to go I think ten years to reach that, so there's a possibility for sure. It'll be fun to get there." The massive multiverse event saw the collapse of multiple parallel universes, along with the "death" of The Flash himself. The story has been hinted at since the pilot episode of the show, where the Reverse Flash views a newspaper headline from the future stating that The Flash has "vanished in a crisis". Showrunner Todd Helbing also spoke to CB about the upcoming season 4, which he promised will be "fun" again after the "doom and gloom" of season 3. "Last year, once we showed Iris die in the future, to keep up that doom and gloom, it becomes a burden, and not just on us writing-wise, on the show and it just sort of had this pall over the season that I think we didn't expect to be so heavy;” there is “a conscious effort of ours to really go back to everybody enjoyed being on this team and with each other, and make The Flash have fun again.” b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/the_flash/the-flash-star-grant-gustin-says-its-the-shows-goal-to-adapt-crisis-on-infinite-earths-a152832 9. THE FLASH Is Reborn In The Official Comic-Con Trailer For The Upcoming Fourth Season (Date 22 July 2017) a. For the first time since the series' inception, a new character is taking on the voiceover and she doesn't sound quite like her usual hopeful self as the months without Barry have taken a serious toll on her. The new trailer also teases new villains, including a very interesting looking Samurai and a few returning faces. b. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/the_flash/the-flash-is-reborn-in-the-official-comic-con-trailer-for-the-upcoming-fourth-season-a152748 10. The Flash's Grant Gustin Says Speed Force Will Change Barry (Date 25 July 2017) a. “We're not necessarily going to see Barry's experience in the Speed Force. We'll see kind of the effects that the Speed Force has had on Barry, and he's been in there six months real-time,” Gustin started. “I suspect the Speed Force is kind of nonlinear with time, so Barry has experienced his entire life from star to end infinity times over since he's been in there. It's almost like a fresh start for me as an actor.” b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/25/the-flash-speed-force-grant-gustin/ 11. Legends of Tomorrow Announces Tracy Ifeachor as S3 Villain (Date 26 July 2017) a. DC's Legends of Tomorrow will get mighty personal for Vixen in Season 3. During the show's panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Kuasa — the sister of Mari McCabe's Vixen — was announced as a villain for the upcoming season. Now, we can put a face to the name. Quantico star Tracy Ifeachor will play the character. Since Kuasa is Mari's sister, that also makes her the granddaughter of Amaya, who is slated to be a main character in Legends Season 3. At SDCC, executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that the two will cross paths at some point this season, saying, “We're looking forward to the inevitable confrontation between Maisie [Richardson-Sellers]'s character and her granddaughter.” b. http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-kuasa-tracy-ifeachor/ 12. The Flash Season 4 Set Photos Show New Female Villain (Date 29 July 2017) a. YVRShoots.com recently shared pictures of The Flash's newest foe, who will reportedly appear the third episode of the season, entitled 'Luck Me a Lady.' In one set of photos, an actress is robbing a bank in a red dress, while other photos show the same actress running after a bus in a rather noteworthy casino outfit. Fans were quick to recognize the casino dealer outfit as that belonging to the DC Comics villain Becky Sharpe, a.k.a. Hazard. Hazard has appeared throughout the DC Comics mythos as a member of the Injustice Society, and was the granddaughter of the original Gambler. The antagonist is bestowed with psionic powers, which allow her to cause good or bad "accidents" to her foes. b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/29/the-flash-set-photos-show-new-female-villain/ ARROW CAST AND CREW INTERVIEWS 1. While at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, Comicbook.com had a chance to sit down with Amell and Ramsey (and other Arrow cast members) to talk about the upcoming season, and according to Ramsey, the fallout of the Prometheus storyline will have major impact on Diggle - and not in a good way. b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/25/arrow-season-6-diggle-david-ramsey 2. Candice Patton Is Hoping For A Wedding In The Flash Season 4 (Date: 25 July 2017) a. Arrow's Emily Bett Rickards And Echo Kellum Explain Sexy Threats (Date: 28 July 2017) a. During a Comic Con Interview with Arrow's leading lady Emily Bett Rickards, we were joined by series regular Echo Kellum, who brought out Rickards's playful side. Rather than trying to finish our interview with Rickards and pull one or both of them back on track, we went with the more entertaining option of egging them on, asking among other things: "Can you tell me more about 'sexy threats?'" b. http://comicbook.com/2017/07/28/arrows-emily-bett-rickards-and-echo-kellum-explain-sexy-threats/ NEXT EPISODE Link to Promo: (Date: 08 March 2017) https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/legends_of_tomorrow/legends-of-tomorrow-new-extended-promo-for-season-2-episode-14-moonshot-a149472 Episode: “Moonshot” [Season 2 Episode 14] Air Date: Tuesday, March 14, 2017 Summary: The Legends learn where the last fragment of the Spear of Destiny is hidden when they track Commander Steel to NASA Headquarters in 1970. Amell talked about how Prometheus has been a great villain for Green Arrow and his allies, calling Segarra “almost scary good.” When Leslie noted just how savage Chase has been revealed to be, Amell only offered this tease for the remaining episodes:“Just you wait.” Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/04/30/arrow-stephen-amell-says-prometheus-josh-segarra-scary-good-vill/   Stephen: Spoiler Room: Scoop on Supernatural, Handmaid's Tale, OUAT, and more (Date: 28 April 2017) Anything on the Arrow finale? — We know Oliver's going to be heading back to the island — after all, that's where Slade has been imprisoned, but he definitely won't be alone. “One of the things that will surprise us is why he goes and the amount of people who will be there,” Stephen Amell says. “This whole year has been built around Oliver returning on a team, but what happens when Oliver's team isn't there for him and he still needs a team?” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/04/28/spoiler-room-supernatural-handmaids-tale-once-upon-time/   Dark Phoenix Could Be Searching for a Younger Version of an X-Men Mainstay (Morning Spoilers) (Date: 01 May 2017) Arrow - John Barrowman has revealed he will not be a part of the Arrowverse next season. We are bringing back people we've had all season. We have Calista Flockhart coming back. In the last two episodes, we have Lynda Carter returning as the President, Sharon Leal is coming back as M'gann. Obviously, there's Tyler as Superman. These are some of the biggest episodes we've ever done. We're so proud of Teri Hatcher, and so amazed she's on our show and killing it as Rhea. There is a feature film quality finale, with huge guest stars, stunts and visual effects. We will get a glimpse of the Season 3 villain in the finale, which we're also excited about.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/interview-supergirl-andrew-kreisberg-superman-general-zod/    The Flash: Savitar's identity revealed! (Date: 02 May 2017) Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells EW, “What's really cool for anyone who thought that there wasn't a plan, or we didn't know, or we were making this up as we go, this was always where we were heading,” Kreisberg says. “The idea that the darkest villain we could come up with was actually a very damaged version of our hero was interesting and fresh to us. We're not only competing with all the stuff that we've done on Flash, but we're always competing with everything we've done on all the other shows. So to have our lead actor be both the hero and the villain isn't something we've done before, so that was exciting for us as storytellers.” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/05/02/flash-savitar-identity-barry-allen/   ARROW CAST & CREW INTERVIEWS Harkavy Sings About Her Arrow Future, As Black Canary or Otherwise (Date: 03 May 2017) As “Arrow” returns to The CW for the final six episodes of its fifth season, the actress joined CBR for a look inside her tour of duty on Team Arrow. CURRENT EPISODE DC EASTER EGGS & POP CULTURE REFERENCES   Article: http://comicbook.com/2016/10/05/arrow-easter-eggs-and-dc-comics-references-in-legacy (comicbook.com)   Captain Pike -  Is that a Star Trek reference? We really can't decide. Either way, per his nametag, that police captain talking to Thea in the opening scene appears to be "Captain Pike," the captain of the USS Enterprise immediately prior to James T. Kirk. Lonnie Machin - A recurring villain from season four of Arrow, Lonnie Machin (the first baddie Oliver fights in season five) is better known to DC Comics fans as the antihero Anarky. Wild Dog - the first new member of  Team Arrow version 2.0 was introduced to the audience, in the form of Wild Dog, a hockey mask-wearing, gun-toting vigilante who was inspired by -- and then shot in the kneecap by -- Green Arrow. The character first appeared in Wild Dog #1 in 1987, making him one of the first new superheroes created following Crisis on Infinite Earths. Created by Road to Perdition writer Max Allan Collins, "his super power is guns." Konstantin Kovar - Konstantin Kovar is the father of Leonid Kovar, better known as Red Star.  In the comics, Konstantin originally wasn't a villain, but a relatively benign figure: an archaeologist who unearthed a nasty bit of business that gave his son powers. But Red Star himself, a loyal communist in the Soviet era, was occasionally a problem for the other heroes before he turned his life around.  Eventually, he would become a bad guy in service of the Soviet Union -- something that might make him an interesting figure going forward in case Anatoly Knyazev's comic book destiny of becoming the cybernetically-enhanced "KGBeast" is to become part of Arrow's story. Tobias Church - Church's nickname is apparently Charon, the ferryman of Hades from Greek mythology. There is a Charon in DC Comics, although he shares basically nothing in common with this version. This is something that will be repeated again in the episode: choosing a historical/mythological meaning instead of a contemporary/comics one. Vigilante - "Mr. Ski Goggles," as Felicity calls him, is actually Vigilante, a DC Comics antihero created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.  Perez provided the police sketch seen on Felicity's computer screen.  Created during Marv Wolfman's time on the New Teen Titans, Vigilante in the comics is a former New York district attorney who's set on the path of justice after hsi family is killed by the mob. The CW describes him similarly: Chase is "Star City's new district attorney and an ally of Mayor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who aims to clean up the streets through the legal system." Hub City and Bludhaven - According to Detective Malone, before he made his way to Star City, apparently he haunted Hub City -- the home of The Question -- and Bludhaven, the home of Nightwing. Ross Paints - Is that a little bit of free advertising for comic book artist and painter Alex Ross on the side of the truck Tobias Church and his goons are driving to their crime spree? Bertinelli - Whoever the head of the Bertinelli crime family is now that Helena has killed her father, he makes an appearance here -- only to be immediately killed by Tobias Church's men.     ARROW NEWS:   Arrow Showrunner breaks down all those new S5 characters (Date: 05 Oct 2016) Executive producer and showrunner Wendy Mericle gave an in-depth look into some of season 5's new characters in an interview with CBR.com. Included in the interview are discussions about Ragman, Artemis, Wild Dog, and Mr. Terrific. Mericle drops hints about Vigilante and Prometheus. When asked about Katie Cassidy, Mericle says, “Nobody ever really dies on ‘Arrow.' She's going to be kind of across the shows, and we'll see her in the premiere, and we'll see her later in the season as well.”     Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-showrunner-breaks-down-all-those-new-s5-characters/   Did Arrow just hint at a Flashpoint connection? (Date: 05 Oct 2016) Producers have stated that Diggle will be impacted by Flashpoint. On the season premiere, Diggle said he has “the worst case of deja vu ever.” The article speculates that perhaps Diggle's wife and child could be erased. (Date: 05 Oct 2016) com goes into the history of Wild Dog. Covering his first appearance in “Wild Dog #1” in 1987 to his Booster Gold run. Wild Dog was created by Max Allan Collins, who stated that Wild Dog's “super power is guns.” Wild Dog is star athlete Jack Wheeler, who had to become a mechanic after an injury. He became Wild Dog after the woman he loved was gun down. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/05/arrow-season-5-who-is-wild-dog-/   Arrow Season 5 Premiere Ratings Released (Date: 6 Oct 2016) Last October, The CW's Arrow opened its fourth season with 2.67 million viewers; however, on Wednesday, only 1.9 million viewers tuned-in for the show's fifth season premiere, which is a drop of 29%, and it pulled in a paltry 0.7 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, which is a decline of 36 percent from a year ago. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/06/arrow-season-5-premiere-ratings-released/ Arrow: Stephen Amell talks legacy, Russia, and why Prometheus is the right villain for season 5 (Date: 05  Oct 2016) In an interview with IGN, Stephen Amell discusses season 5. When asked about Prometheus, Stephen said, “ Prometheus is a villain that is a byproduct of Oliver Queen being Green Arrow. That's something that you get to do once you're five years into a show. In a lot of ways, I think the most success that we've had with a villain, in my mind, was with Manu Bennett as Deathstroke. One of the reasons is because we got to tell a really personal story. We got to tell the story, sort of the dueling time of their time on the island and then their time in the Starling City at the time. Because Prometheus is a villain of Oliver's creation, so to speak, I feel like it will bring in that personal element as well.” Link:http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/05/arrow-stephen-amell-talks-legacy-russia-and-why-prometheus-is-the-right-villain-for-season-5   Spartan's new helmet and a Diggle/Oliver-centric episode of Arrow is coming (Date: 02 Oct 2016) Bleeding Cool - Picture of Diggle in his new helmet. Per Degaton: Per Degaton is a longtime DC Comics supervillain, who has battled against the Justice Society, Infinity Inc. and the Time Masters in the comics.  His most notable appearances  were as a member of an organization called the Time Stealers, who opposed Booster Gold and Rip Hunter and tried to take over Vanishing Point. It's the deadliest virus known to human history.  There's also Armageddon 2001, a crossover event from the '90s... “Would you kill Hitler” trope: You get the old "would you kill Hitler?" trope a lot in this episode...almost literally, since Per Degaton is a Nazi in the comics. Coast City reference: Hawkman makes a Coast City reference in Flashback.  Coast City, of course, is the home to Green Lantern in the comics. It's been frequently referenced in all of the CW/DC shows. Star Labs: Wells's company eventually recovers from the damage to its reputation and bottom line done by the particle accelerator explosion. White Dwarf Star Reference: White Dwarf Star material is what Ray Palmer uses in the comics (and on TV) to power his size-changing belt.. Hannibal Lecter reference: When asked to give a name, Ray identifies himself as Dr. Hannibal Lecter.. Young Aldus Boardman: In Kendra's flashback timeline, we get to see the young Aldus Boardman, the son of Hawkgirl and Hawkman, who lived his childhood on the run from Vandal Savage until Savage found and killed Boardman's parents. Starling Tribune - Season 4 Edition – Episode 3: Restoration   The Official Arrow Podcast of the Gonna Geek Network   During another fun Blab.im live recording, Neil, Stargate Pioneer and Chris gather again to discuss the 3rd episode of the 4th Arrow season. It was great to see Nyssa back on the show and just how evil Malcom Merlyn can be. Why did that one Ghost let Diggle live at the battle of the Woodmill? SP has a pretty good theory about why that Neil added unto. Damian Darhk sure demonstrate how deadly simple parlor card tricks can be. SP teaches that worksite cranes sometimes do come equipped with remote control technologies thus validating Felicity's ability to remote control one from the Arrow Lair 3.0. There is a LOT of Lair 3.0 talk too. Felicity's mention of Mirikuru soldiers was a Great Pull. SP has issue with Felicity's machine gun spray and pray move. Felicty's character growth comes to a new level in the episode and everyone is impressed. Chris finds a reason for Oliver to have sleeves on his costume again. ( #bringbacksleeves ) We're all excited to see the T-Sphere's and of course Ray Palmer is trying to get Felicity's attention through her mobile phone. The show finally found a way to get rid of the Lazarus Pit after its heroic and historic reanimation of Sara. And the hosts have a message for Laurel: When MALCOLM tells you that doing something is a bad idea you've probably gone way too far. Someone needs to get Sara and Thea bad to 100%. Will it be Damian? Will it be Constantine? The relationship between Quentin Lance and Damian continues to confuse everyone. Everyone loves OTA – Original Team Arrow. Everyone rates the villain of the week, Double Down. SP was happy to see Ryan Robbins but knows Oliver is going to kills him eventually. The guys take bets on where Oliver is heading with the woman. We revisit the “Star City Beard Report” including his mutant power. Would you take a card for us? The fights continue to be amazing including the double fight this week and the sparing in Nanda Parbat and Thea's nightmare wake-up call fight. And finally, what happened with Oliver's decision to run for mayor? SP's theory about the Lair comes in handy here.   EPISODE DC EASTER EGGS:   Season 4 Episode 3 “Restoration” Easter Eggs (Date: xx Oct 2015) Article: http://comicbook.com/2015/10/22/arrow-easter-eggs-and-dc-comics-references-in-restoration/   ARROW NEWS:   Behind the scenes video looks at the season premiere stunts (Date: 16 Oct 2015) Video: https://youtu.be/MxvkOJroOUI   Constantine Comes to Arrow in "Haunted" Synopsis (Date: 16 Oct 2015) Article: http://comicbook.com/2015/10/16/constantine-comes-to-arrow-in-haunted-synopsis/   Damien Darhk to appear in Flash and Legends of Tomorrow (Date: 12 Oct 2015) Article: http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/arrows-damien-darhk-to-appear-on-flash-and-legends-of-tomorrow   John Barrowman on Malcolm Merlyn and the Lazarus Pit (Date: 20 Oct 2015) Article: http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/arrows-barrowman-teases-merlyns-knowledge-of-the-lazarus-pit-his-love-for-thea-more   Wendy Mericle talks “Restoration” in the latest CW interview (Date: 21 Oct 2015) Article: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/GraphicCity/news/?a=126132 Video: https://youtu.be/EYk3TJnCy0I   Interview with Echo Kellum and his “Terrific” transformation (Date: 21 Oct 2015) Article: http://www.etonline.com/tv/174398_arrow_echo_kellum_on_curtis_holt_and_mr_terrific/   Robbie Amell passes the Firestorm torch to Franz Darmeh  (Date: 22 Oct 2015) Article: http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/robbie-amell-vouches-for-new-firestorm-promises-ronnies-return   Wow!!
