Crime scene photos missing. A defensive wound on a dead wife's arm. A father who allegedly told his daughter he choked her mother too hard. And an alleged accomplice who reportedly kept the secret of Green Hollow for years. The case of Donald Dean Studey should have been investigated decades ago — and it's only getting more disturbing. Lucy Studey-McKiddy alleges her father killed dozens of women over decades in the remote Green Hollow area near Thurman, Iowa, about forty miles from Omaha in Fremont County. She says she was a child when she carried bags of lye to the wells where her father allegedly disposed of bodies. She says the alleged victims were vulnerable women — reportedly transient women targeted near Omaha bus stops and truck stops, women with no one searching for them. Don Studey reportedly had a violent criminal history. Law enforcement allegedly treated calls to his property as a two-officer minimum. His sister Marilyn Kepler reportedly wrote a journal spanning over a hundred and sixty-eight pages describing alleged violence and killings, and told investigators her brother was a hitman who killed with ease. Multiple women connected to Studey died under suspicious circumstances across different states and decades. Charlotte Studey reportedly died from a single rifle shot to the head in 1984 in Omaha — her manner of death was ruled self-inflicted until a 2023 re-autopsy found evidence suggesting she may have raised her arm to defend herself and reclassified the gunshot range from point-blank to indeterminate. The original crime scene and autopsy photographs have vanished from Omaha police records. Charlotte's daughters are reportedly fighting in court to unseal the investigation files. In 2022 the FBI spent three days at Green Hollow after cadaver dogs alerted at four locations — and closed the case. The Paramount+ documentary My Killer Father: The Green Hollow Murders reportedly brings new witnesses and alleged accomplice testimony to light.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Episode Summary: Five years ago, billionaire investor Jim Mellon came on Business For Good and laid out his thesis that cultivated meat and precision fermentation would transform the food system. Since then, venture capital has fled the space, plant-based stocks have cratered, and many startups have gone under. So why is Jim putting even more money in? In this episode, Paul Shapiro reconnects with Jim Mellon, Author of Moo's Law and Chairman of Agronomics, to find out what has changed and what hasn't. Jim reveals that his portfolio company, Clean Food Group, is producing precision fermentation-based palm oil, olive oil, and cocoa butter at a factory near Liverpool that is already sold out to buyers, including Mondelēz. He shares how media costs for cultivated meat have dropped from nearly $1,000 per liter to under three cents, and why he expects the company to go public later this year in what could be the first IPO of a precision fermentation company. The conversation also covers why the Middle East may become the next major hub for alternative protein infrastructure, how robotics could improve agricultural yields and reduce food waste, and what Jim plans to change in the updated edition of Moo's Law. He also explains why, despite personal wealth, no single investor can fund the scale of infrastructure this industry requires. Things You Will Learn: How precision fermentation-based oils are already reaching price parity with conventional palm oil, olive oil, and cocoa butter. Why cultivated meat media costs have dropped from roughly $1,000 per liter to under three cents in just a few years. Why the Middle East could become the next major hub for alternative protein manufacturing. What Jim Mellon plans to change in the updated edition of Moo's Law. How robotics and AI could reduce crop waste and improve agricultural yields globally. Tools & Frameworks Covered: Moo's Law: The idea that the cost of producing cultivated animal products will decline on a curve similar to Moore's Law in computing, driven by advances in media formulation, facility design, and scale. Precision Fermentation for Commodity Oils: Using microbial fermentation to produce bio-identical palm oil, cocoa butter, and olive oil at competitive prices with greater supply consistency and without deforestation. Infrastructure-First Scaling: Building dedicated production facilities and securing offtake agreements before going to market, reducing capital carry costs, and proving commercial viability to attract institutional investment. #BusinessForGood #FutureOfFood #AlternativeProtein #SustainableBusiness
Let us know what you think of this episode with a text!“Mayday” has long been the universal call for help—so it's fitting this episode drops on May 1st.Law enforcement remains under fire—despite what most Americans actually want.In major urban centers, activist mobs, emboldened criminals, media narratives, and political leadership continue to complicate efforts to restore order, creating an environment where chaos isn't just tolerated—it's amplified. And the consequences are no longer abstract. From unprecedented threats against the President and his staff to targeted violence against police and everyday citizens, the line is being crossed more often—and more openly. At some point, it needs to be said plainly: lawlessness and violence used as political opposition isn't protest—it's a threat to everyone. And those who want a return to order need to start actively supporting the people working to restore it. Was the Apostle Paul Torah-observant — not just before the Damascus road, but throughout his apostleship to the nations? Brad East stakes out a thesis drawn from Messianic Judaism and the Paul Within Judaism school: that Acts 21 should be read straight, that James is telling the truth about Paul, and that Genesis 12 and 17 still bind Jewish believers. Derek Rishmawy and Alastair Roberts push back hard, working through Galatians 2, 1 Corinthians 9, and the question of whether the law's force after Christ is divine command or Hookerian adiaphora — with the future of Jewish identity in the church in view. — Get the free ebook Spiritual Formation for the Family at http://mereorthodoxy.com/family. In 2025, 14-year-old Emily Pike was reported missing after running away from a group home in Mesa, Arizona. Emily had previously been removed from her home on the San Carlos Apache Reservation following a reported sexual assault and placed in state care. During her time in multiple facilities, she repeatedly attempted to return home and had a documented history of running away.On January 27th, 2025, Emily left the group home again and was not seen afterward. Initial search efforts were delayed due to her history of prior runaways, and her family was not immediately notified. A missing person bulletin was later issued, but false reports circulated suggesting she had been found, delaying clarity on her whereabouts. On February 14th, 2025, human remains belonging to Emily were discovered in trash bags near a highway outside Globe, Arizona. Authorities later confirmed she had suffered homicidal violence. As of the latest updates, investigators have identified persons of interest, but no arrests have been made. A reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest. Arizona also passed "Emily's Law," establishing the Turquoise Alert system to improve emergency notifications when endangered individuals go missing from tribal communities.#TrueCrimeRecaps #EmilyPike #JusticeForEmilyPike #EmilysLaw #TurquoiseAlert

This week saw weed history happen in real time when the federal government announced its officially rescheduling cannabis out of Schedule 1, the most restrictive category. To be clear, so far much remains unclear about this process, which will happen in phases. Amid a lot of confusion, there's cause for excitement, but also cause for concern. So for a clearer picture of what the future holds, we reached out to Shaleen Title, a lawyer, activist, adjunct professor and director of the Parabola Center for Law and Policy, Shaleen's also a former top cannabis regulator for the state of Massachusetts, where she served as a commissioner of the Cannabis Control Commission from 2017 to 2020. Control is a coping mechanism — not a strategy. We learn to control as children when we felt unsafe. But true peace comes from reconnecting to your internal source, not managing external outcomes.2. Everything you desire is already within you.You cannot feel on the outside what you don't feel on the inside. The work is always an inside job.3. The low is the growth.Every difficult period is an initiation. The high that follows is always worth it — and hindsight will always confirm that.4. Feminine desire is magnetic. When you operate from pleasure, fun, and the feeling of already having what you want, you become a magnet for it. That's not magic — it's the Law of Vibration.5. Surrender is strength.Letting go of what's no longer in alignment — even when it once felt so right — is one of the most powerful things you can do.Resources:
Watch the YouTube version of this episode HEREMost PI firms obsess over “more leads” and ignore the single number that quietly runs their entire business: average fee per case. In this crossover episode, Chris Dreyer (Personal Injury Mastermind, Rankings.io) sits down with Tyson Mutrux (Mutrux Firm Injury Lawyers, Maximum Lawyer) to unpack how he nearly tripled his average fee by mastering bad faith, redesigning the client journey, and installing a Cares Team that doubles as a 5‑star review engine.Tyson breaks down how he went from roughly 7.4k to about 24k per case without relying on lottery-ticket verdicts, and why most high-volume PI firms leave policy‑plus settlements on the table because they simply don't understand bad faith. You'll hear his simple explanation of bad faith, how he pits the insured against the insurer ethically, and why that unlocks settlements over limits for clients while funding a serious marketing war chest. Then, Tyson flips the conversation from numbers to people. He walks through his “Complete Injury Law” mindset: mapping every stage of the client's journey from the crash scene to case resolution, solving transportation, medical access, and life disruption so injured clients don't lose jobs or miss care. That deep empathy led to building a dedicated Cares Team that shadows cases from start to finish, checks in on real life (kids, ballgames, surgeries), and protects high-value files over months or years of litigation. Finally, Tyson reveals the psychological script his team uses to turn that client experience into an unstoppable Google review engine. Instead of awkwardly begging for firm reviews, they position the review as a “gift” to a specific team member, then remove all friction with direct links and clear prompts. All the Old Testament is interpreted in the light of Christ. He fulfilled the Law, both rejecting extreme legalism but also expanding it, showing that he expected us to go beyond the Law. The Ten Commandments are NOT the standard for Christians. Why not? What does it mean?
From the DOJ's targeting of the Southern Poverty Law Center for its anti-KKK work to Kash Patel's outrageous lawsuit against The Atlantic for its reporting on his unfitness for office to the Fifth Circuit's legal contortions allowing Texas to mandate the Ten Commandments be displayed in classrooms, it's been a wild week in the law. Kate and Leah unpack it all before recapping the week's oral arguments, which featured the welcome return of former Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar to One First Street's hallowed halls. For the second part of the show, Kate and Leah speak with University of Pennsylvania law professor Shaun Ossei-Owusu about his new book, Law on Trial: An Unlikely Insider Reckons with Our Legal System.Favorite things: Kate: Sexistential, Robyn; USAID Whistleblower Says It Was Even Worse Than People Knew, Vittoria Elliott (Wired); Into the Wood Chipper: A Whistleblower's Account of How the Trump Administration Shredded USAID, Nicholas Enrich; Enrich's interview on Pod Save the World; Melissa on the Work Friends podcast Leah: The Great Divide, Noah Kahan; Kahan's Tiny Desk Concert; It Is Time for Ruthless Aggression, Jonathan V. This week the extra content will help learn more about elements of the Law of Moses that bring us to Christ with Kerry. In this episode Kerry and his colleagues have a roundtable discussion on ritual purity. They delve into what it really was, what it wasn't, and how it teaches us about holiness, and how purity and holiness are different. They discuss the difference between spiritual purity and ritual purity. They also look into how it helps us understand that God knows we will sin and fall short, and has planned for it by the atoning sacrifice of His Son. Kerry spends time really exploring the Day of Atonement and what it was and the symbols behind it and how that can help us come to Christ and be reconciled with God and become holy and spiritually pure through Christ's atoning sacrifice. Then Kerry and Rabbi Jarrod Grover discuss the ritual of sacrificing the Red Heiffer and what it could do and how we can think about it and how it points towards Christ and His cleansing and purifying abilities. This week the extra content will help learn more about elements of the Law of Moses that bring us to Christ with Kerry. In this episode Kerry and Avram Shannon discuss how the Law is fundamentally about atonement -- or reconciliation with God -- and sacrifice and the way God's law, whatever its form, helps us become holy, and the role of commandments and atonement in that process. They also delve into how the Law of Moses increased faith in Jehovah/Christ. They talk about how God is holy and wants us to be holy. They discuss the temple context of atonement in the text. Kerry explores the Law of the Redeemer, and what it did for Israel anciently and how it teaches us all about how Christ redeems us. Then Kerry and Avram discuss sacrifice in the Law of Moses and what it means and what the different kinds of sacrifice are. They help us see how we give ourselves to God, and how Christ's sacrifice helps us overcome sin and transgression and our fallen natures and find peace and wholeness and reconciliation with him.We are grateful for our executive producers, P. Violent conflicts like the ones currently happening in the Mideast usually have the fallout of misinformation and disinformation from many sides. Since the terror attacks of October 7th on Israel, Jews across the world have been subjected to a sharp rise in antisemitism being fueled by online information that has become increasingly harder to discern between truth and propaganda. And besides hateful untrue rhetoric, there are deadly consequences to this antisemitism with attacks on the Jewish communities in the United Sates that authorities have connected to radicalization by terror groups. FOX's Eben Brown speaks with Roy Altman, lawyer and jurist who serves as a United States district judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and author of 'Israel on Trial: Examining the History, the Evidence and the Law', out April 28th, who explains how online disinformation fuels antisemitism across the world, and how to evaluate modern political claims using legal reasoning. Watch the YouTube version of this episode HERETired of case management tools that move slower than your law firm? In this episode of the Maximum Lawyer podcast, Tyson Mutrux takes you behind the scenes of the custom, AI‑powered case management system he built for his firm in just three weeks. He walks through how a failed software launch pushed him to start from scratch, why imagination (not vendors) is now the limiting factor, and the specific features that are changing how his team handles cases. You'll see how Tyson used APIs, automation, and AI to migrate his data, build the dashboard he always wanted, and give his team superpowers, from trial readiness analysis to mock juries and instant mailroom workflows. He also shares the mindset shift that unlocked “wishlist” ideas from his team and the tech stack he used to turn prompts into a fully operational system. If you've ever thought “my current platform will never do that,” this episode will show you what's actually possible when you stop waiting on vendors and start building for yourself.Timestamps00:00 – Why Your Imagination Is the Only Limit02:00 – How We Migrated Everything in 2–3 Days02:40 – Inside Our New Firm Dashboard03:20 – Statutes, Holds, and Red‑Flag Cases04:00 – Leads Channel and Micro‑Intake Board05:00 – Breaking the “We're Limited” Mindset05:40 – Built‑In AI Assistant on Every Case07:30 – Trial Mode and AI Trial Readiness08:10 – Mock Juries, Focus Groups, and Jury Selection10:50 – Settlement Calculator and Buffett Paradigm NumberResources:Join the Guild MembershipSubscribe to the Maximum Lawyer Youtube ChannelFollow us on InstagramJoin the Facebook GroupFollow the Facebook PageFollow us on LinkedIn Resources:Join the Guild MembershipSubscribe to the Maximum Lawyer Youtube ChannelFollow us on InstagramJoin the Facebook GroupFollow the Facebook PageFollow us on LinkedIn

This is the ninth episode of our ongoing series breaking down the U.S. Constitution. This month, Roman and Elizabeth discuss Article VI and VII, which include some odds and ends like the Debts Clause, the No Religious Test Clause, and the process for ratification. But tucked into Article VI is the all-important Supremacy Clause, which states that the Constitution is the “supreme Law of the Land,” and is probably the most frequently used constitutional law in practice. Roman and Elizabeth are also joined by Dr. Alondra Nelson, a leading expert on AI. She discusses why AI is a challenge to regulate, what to think of the tug of war between the states and the federal government on the topic, and whether she's optimistic governments will figure this out. In this episode, scholars Nicholas Cole and Robert Williams examine how American constitutional democracy is rooted in the crafting of Revolutionary-era state constitutions. Beginning in May 1776, Americans gave independence meaning by writing state constitutions, experimenting with self-government, and rooting political authority in the people. Cole and Williams explore this critical and often overlooked chapter of the founding era and how these early state constitutions shaped ideas about rights, government, and limits on power, helping to define the nation's constitutional tradition and set its trajectory for generations to come. Julie Silverbrook, chief content and learning officer at the National Constitution Center, moderates. When a woman walked into a Kentucky emergency room claiming she had just given birth, the medical staff was immediately met with a scene that defied every law of nature. Kathy Coy arrived with a newborn in her arms and biological evidence of a delivery, yet her own body told a chillingly different story that left doctors paralyzed with suspicion. What started as a celebratory arrival quickly spiraled into a high-stakes investigation as authorities realized the woman standing before them was hiding a secret far more disturbing than a simple lie. The 10 Commandments E5 — In the ancient world, gods (or elohim in Hebrew) were associated with transcendent forces of nature, and humans created statues (mostly of animals) to represent these forces, known as idols. But in Exodus 20:4-6, Yahweh forbids Israel from making idols of himself or any other spiritual being. Why?
