When we met up to play in person in Iceland, we answered all your burning questions. Part 1 of a very long recording session! It's thanks to our lovely Patrons that we could even considering playing in person, so we had to do something big like this while we were together. Seriously, thank you all! This was a long session, about 4 and a half hours, but such fun to just chat about our story so far. For context, we did this partway through our live play sessions, and a lot has been released since. You'll also hear us talk about having a video recording going - well that was a PC rebuild ago and apparently we never backed it up to our NAS... so sorry about the missing video! --- Get ad free episodes on Patreon! Aloha and welcome to The Mission North Shore's podcast! What if the Bible isn't just meant to be read, but lived? This powerful exploration of James 1:22-25 challenges us to move beyond passive listening to active doing. The central metaphor is striking: God's Word is like a mirror that reveals our true spiritual condition. Just as we wouldn't look in a physical mirror, see something amiss, and walk away unchanged, we shouldn't encounter Scripture without allowing it to transform us. The message confronts a comfortable Christianity where we sit, listen, and leave unchanged. James warns that merely hearing the Word while failing to act on it is self-deception. We're fooling ourselves if we think attendance and note-taking fulfill our calling. The 'perfect law that gives freedom' isn't meant to burden us but to liberate us into the life God designed. When we look intently into Scripture, continue in it, and actually do what it says, we're promised blessing 'in the doing' itself.

Dan shares tales of two islands this week. We'll head to the remote Pacific Samoan island of Ofu, where there's a stretch of beach so feared that many locals refuse to walk it after dark. A place believed to be a gathering ground for spirits who've never crossed over. A place where ghosts can do more than just scare you. Next, we'll head to the other side of the world to the Azores. High above a volcanic crater on São Miguel, an abandoned luxury hotel looms out of the fog - a five-star dream that collapsed almost as soon as it opened. Visitors today report footsteps in empty hallways, voices in stairwells, and the unmistakable feeling of being watched by something that never left. A little less exotic but equally as creepy, Lynze brings us a tale from Spokane. The story of an entity that has attached itself to a someone and still lingers close today. To wrap up, we go to a midwest county fair where two young friends get more than they bargained for at the fun house. Bad Magic Monthly Donation: This month, we are donating to the HALO Dental Network. This may sound familiar because this is our second time donating here. After all of these years of making various donations, HALO is the one and only charity we receive emails about on a monthly basis. We have been sending fans their way consistently since our last donation in 2022. We felt that if we were going to keep sending folks their way, we ought to help support their mission. The HALO Dental Network is dedicated to being the most impactful dental charity in the United States. Led by Dr. Brady Smith, HALO provides free dental care to underserved populations throughout the country. Dental services include dental implants, veneers, fillings, crowns and root canals. We are thrilled to be able to support their mission, once again. We have donated $11,230 while putting $1250 into the 2026 scholarship fund. Most of us go into the woods looking for a break from day-to-day life- a soft reset, a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and disappear into nature for a while. But on an October afternoon in Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Highlands National Park, a 19-year-old musician with a budding career stepped onto one of the park's most popular trails… and never made it back. Mirror, Mirror: The Villains Who Reflect James Bond explores one of the most revealing ideas in the entire Bond franchise. James Bond villains are not true opposites of Bond. They are reflections. They are versions of Bond where a single restraint disappears. In this episode of Cracking the Code of Spy Movies, Dan and Tom examine some of Bond's greatest adversaries as mirrors rather than monsters. These villains share Bond's training, intelligence, and appetite for risk. What separates them is not skill. It is restraint. It is purpose. It is accountability. Using a clear "mirror framework," the episode shows how nearly every major Bond villain follows the same pattern. They share Bond's competence. They understand power and leverage. But they cross a moral line Bond refuses to cross. When the moment comes to stop, the villain continues. From Goldfinger, the Bond who breaks rules without limits, to Blofeld, the Bond who answers to no one, each antagonist reflects a path Bond could take. Largo reveals what Bond becomes without empathy. Scaramanga shows Bond without purpose, killing for identity instead of mission. Franz Sanchez exposes Bond's anger when loyalty and revenge replace duty. Silva mirrors Bond's trauma when emotional control collapses. Le Chiffre represents Bond before psychological armor hardens. The episode also dives deep into the importance of M as Bond's moral anchor. M represents structure, oversight, and restraint. Without M, Bond risks becoming indistinguishable from the villains he hunts. The Bond–M relationship transforms action into moral drama. It gives meaning to Bond's violence. It defines the ethical limits behind the famous license to kill. Drawing from Ian Fleming's own words, film dialogue, and character analysis across decades of Bond movies, this episode argues that Bond is not heroic because he is unstoppable. He is heroic because he stops. Mirror, Mirror: The Villains Who Reflect James Bond reframes the franchise through psychology, ethics, and character design. It explains why Bond villains matter. They ask the same question every time. Why not take the power for yourself? Bond's answer defines everything. Perfect for fans of James Bond, spy movies, film analysis, and character studies, this episode reveals why the mirror is the most dangerous weapon in Bond's world. Tell us what you think about this Mirror Mirror concept with Bond's villains Do you agree with us that James Bond is a mirror of his villains? Do you have other examples where we see this mirroring in the series? Let us know your thoughts, ideas for future episodes, and what you think of this episode. Just drop us a note at info@spymovienavigator.com. The more we hear from you, the better the show will surely be! We'll give you a shout-out in a future episode! In Episode 145, Jimmy IV closes out the first-ever SexyCoolLounge Podcast™ Trifecta — three episodes released in three days. This episode serves as the final reflection point, bringing together the energy, awareness, and perspective shared in Episodes 143 and 144.“Mirror, Mirror, Frequency on the Wall” is a conversation about noticing. About paying attention to what life is quietly showing us. About recognizing that what feels normal, what we accept, and how we show up all shape the experiences we continue to see reflected back to us.This episode isn't about teaching or fixing. It's about observation, honesty, and awareness. It's about understanding that change often begins with how we move, what we normalize, and what we no longer need to explain or force. For listeners who like to keep meaningful conversations close, downloading this episode allows you to return to it anytime and carry it with you beyond the moment. And since Episode 145 completes the Trifecta, it pairs naturally with Episodes 143 and 144. Having all three downloaded creates a full, connected listening experience.Together, these three episodes form a calm, intentional flow around awareness, alignment, and how we show up for ourselves. This is the closing reflection of that journey. SHOW LINKS:About The AuthorBooksInstagramFacebookApple PodcastVoyage Baltimore Magazine Highlight Series 2nd. Mirror, Mirror on the wall ... This week, we have three stories from the 24 radio race in November of last year. The way it worked is that the audio producers received a prompt a week out from the radio race. On the day, there was a little bit of a brainstorm. And then the audio producers had 24 hours, working alone or in teams, to complete their stories. The theme for this year was ‘mirrored’. The theme for the 2025 Radio Race was mirrored in this episode, producers themselves mirrored in other people, imagining what would happen if your own reflection took over your life, or all the ways that we might actually fail to recognise our own reflection. WTO/99 is a new, immersive archival documentary that depicts the four-day clash between the then-emerging World Trade Organization (WTO) and the 40,000+ people who took to the streets of Seattle in 1999 to protest the WTO Conference and the WTO's impact on human rights, labor, and the future effects of continued globalization.Aaron sat down with WTO/99 director/co-editor Ian Bell and producer/co-editor Alex Megaro to discuss the film's bracing depiction of the WTO protests, their prevailing ramifications in the 2020s, and whether the event's radicalizing groundswell is replicable in today's polarized political reality.WTO/99 has its Bay Area debut at The Roxie next Wednesday 1/28/26. It's a vicariousness that we attain, a vicarious experience where we become wise by hearing. Anecdote—when we were reading the Fourth Canto at Govardhan, I remember there was a brahmacārī there—he was at a crossroads or something. I heard him as I was walking in one of the breaks; he was talking to his spiritual master, and he goes, "What was I thinking?" Because he had just heard the Bhāgavatam, suddenly he exclaimed, 'What was I thinking?' In other words, Bhagavān had wrested him out of his stupor, where he had begun contemplating the material world again and suddenly, by the vicarious experience of hearing the Fourth Canto, he thought, 'Ooh, that was close. I almost got re-consumed.' So, it has that power for us to vicariously experience the cycle that takes place—the inevitable cycle. It's so predictable; it's such an old story, but nobody can get out of it because they don't have information outside the closed universe. 'Tad-vāg-visargo janatāgha-viplavo'—it's outside that normal creation. The material world is so predictable, down to the psychic movements that take place within the mind of a conditioned soul. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Outrage over Ghislaine Maxwell's sudden transfer continues to intensify as the Department of Justice refuses to provide even the most basic explanations about why she was moved, who authorized it, and under what security or administrative rationale. For critics, the anger isn't just about the transfer itself — it's about the pattern it fits into. Maxwell is not a routine federal inmate; she is the sole convicted conspirator tied to Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking network, a case already marred by secrecy, sealed records, and broken transparency promises. When the DOJ moves her quietly and then clamps down on information, it reinforces public suspicion that the system is still prioritizing institutional protection over accountability. Each day of silence fuels the belief that this was not a mundane bureaucratic decision, but a calculated move made without regard for public trust or the victims who were promised transparency. What has further inflamed the backlash is the DOJ's absolute refusal to answer questions from Congress, journalists, or the public. No clear timeline, no stated justification, no acknowledgment of concern — just silence. That silence has become the story. Lawmakers are openly questioning whether the transfer was designed to limit access, control optics, or preempt future disclosures related to Epstein's network. Survivors and advocates see it as another reminder that when it comes to Epstein-linked cases, the DOJ operates behind a wall of opacity that would never be tolerated in an ordinary prosecution. Instead of calming public concern, the DOJ's stonewalling has done the opposite: it has turned the Maxwell transfer into yet another flashpoint in the growing belief that justice in the Epstein saga remains carefully managed, selectively transparent, and fundamentally untrustworthy.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Ghislaine Maxwell's cushy 'Camp Cupcake' prison deal - custom meals and unlimited loo roll - The Mirror
In this episode of Slightly Spiritual, we zoom out and look at what recent pop-culture relationship shifts and breakups collectively reflect about society right now. Long-running reality dynamics like Summer House and the ongoing patterns between Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula, we unpack how power, visibility, pressure to “keep up,” and fear of change are showing up in relationships everywhere. Cindy shares what she's sensing energetically about this break up= and what she consistently sees in client relationships—about why so many connections feel strained, repetitive, or stuck in the same cycle. We also explore what the Brooklyn Beckham conversation reveals about identity, legacy, and growing up under constant scrutiny, and how that mirrors a broader societal struggle around self-definition, autonomy, and external validation. Layered with the emotional reset of the New Moon in Cancer and the current manifesting portal energy, this episode connects the dots between pop culture, collective insecurity, and what's being asked of us right now in friendships, family, and romantic relationships, and how to respond with clarity instead of reactivity. Today I speak with yoga therapist and educator Lisa Danahy about how the skills that calm a classroom can transform our relationships at home and at work. We explore safety before instruction, why our energy is contagious, and how a 15-second movement and breath reset can change the tone of a meeting. Lisa makes complex nervous system concepts simple and practical, and she reminds us that inclusivity starts with how we regulate ourselves.Key TakeawaysSafety first. When people don't feel safe, social engagement and executive function drop. My role as a parent, teacher, or leader is to help create safety so learning and collaboration can happen.Your state sets the tone. Mirror neurons mean our energy is contagious. If I arrive grounded, I become a co-regulator for the room.Breath changes state. Two slow breaths with extended exhales can activate calm and refocus attention quickly.Movement matters. A quick “shake and breathe” resets focus and productivity for groups in classrooms or conference rooms.Inclusion is energetic. Inviting people to show up as they are, and modeling regulation, builds belonging for neurodiverse kids and adults alike.Resources mentionedLisa's site: CreateCalm.orgBook: Creating Calm in Your ClassroomIn appreciation for being here, I have some gifts for you:A LinkedIn Checklist for setting up your fully optimized Profile:An opportunity to test drive the Follow Up system I recommend by checking this presentation page - you won't regret it. The Downward Spiral of Addiction with Ashleigh Ethridge | The Hopeaholics PodcastIn this powerful and deeply vulnerable episode of the Hopeaholics Podcast, Ashleigh Ethridge shares her full story of addiction, recovery, and spiritual awakening, offering an unfiltered look at how alcoholism can quietly take over a life that once appeared stable and successful. She walks through her early years, the influence of the LA nightlife and service industry, and how drinking slowly evolved from social fun into daily survival, leading to blackout episodes, escalating drug use, and a complete loss of control. Ashleigh recounts terrifying experiences with withdrawal seizures, alcohol-induced psychosis, and the physical deterioration that came with drinking around the clock, including moments where she knew she was dying yet still resisted help. She opens up about the role of shame, denial, and toxic relationships in keeping her trapped, as well as the emotional toll addiction took on her family—especially the moment she called her mother from the floor of her apartment, unable to save herself. The episode also explores her journey into treatment, the fear of starting over in her thirties, and the difficult but necessary inner work that followed, including therapy, rebuilding her faith, and confronting the deeper wounds beneath the drinking. Through honesty, humility, and reflection, Ashleigh shares how recovery restored her sense of purpose, healed fractured relationships, and gave her a life she never thought possible, making this episode a raw, hopeful testament to what can happen when someone finally surrenders and chooses to live.#thehopeaholics #redemption #recovery #AlcoholAddiction #AddictionRecovery #wedorecover #SobrietyJourney #MyStory #Hope #wedorecover #treatmentcenter #natalieevamarieJoin our patreon to get access to an EXTRA EPISODE every week of ‘Off the Record', exclusive content, a thriving recovery community, and opportunities to be featured on the podcast. https://patreon.com/TheHopeaholics Go to www.Wolfpak.com today and support our sponsors. On episode 249, we welcome Jack El-Hai to discuss the Nuremberg trials and the recent film about them, the psychiatrist who analyzed Hermann Göring, Dr. Douglas Kelley's motivations for doing so, whether Nazis were monsters and if being human makes them scarier, how the results of Göring's Rorschach test reveled a narcissistic personality, the foundation of evil, Kelley's stifled ambitions and why his social contributions make his work meaningful, and the warnings in 'Nuremberg' about our political future. Jack El-Hai is an acclaimed author and journalist whose writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Smithsonian, GQ, Wired, Scientific American, Discover, and many other publications. He has written several acclaimed books — including The Lobotomist, The Lost Brothers, and Face in the Mirror — translated into more than twenty languages worldwide. This week, we're discussing the winner of our latest Patreon poll, Senegalese auteur Djibril Diop Mambéty's Hyenas. Adapting Swiss-German playwright Friedrich Dürrenmatt's 1956 satirical tragicomedy The Visit and transposing its story onto post-colonial Senegal, the film tells the story of Dramaan Drameh, a grocer in the poor town of Colobane, whose life is upended when a former flame, Linguère Ramatou, returns to the town after decades. Having amassed a large fortune in the intervening years, Ramatou makes the township a disquieting offer - she will bestow her fortune onto Colobane in exchange for the murder of Drameh as revenge for abandoning her following a pregnancy during their brief love affair. Gorgeously-lensed, blackly satirical, and ultimately tragic, Hyenas imbues its tense tale of vengenace and greed with resonances examining Senagal's (and the greater continet of Africa's) subjugation under western capitalism in the post-colonial period. We begin with a discussion of Senegal's cinema, its anti-colonial dimensions, and how the rhythms of Mambéty's film antagonize western modes of narrative and filmmaking. Then, we examine the film's exploration of the corrupting nature of capital, and how forces like the International Monetary Fund and World Bank acted as coercive mechanisms for privatization and neoliberal policy in Africa and throughout the developing world. Finally, we discuss the film's sexual politics, where we feel its metaphors break down in its exploration of the character of Ramatou, and where fidelity to source material occasionally muddles the film's incisive colonial critique.
