In this episode of SpaceTime, we explore groundbreaking discoveries that reshape our understanding of Mars, the Moon, and the Milky Way Galaxy.Ancient Oceans on Mars: Geological Evidence RevealedA new study published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters presents compelling geological evidence that Mars' Northern Hemisphere was once home to a vast ocean. Lead author Chris from the University of Arkansas discusses how comparisons between river rocks on Earth and Martian sediment reveal ancient river deltas and backwater zones, suggesting that liquid water flowed on the Red Planet, increasing the possibility of past life. This episode delves into the processes of sedimentation and erosion that shaped Mars' landscape, providing insights into its watery past. The Moon's South Pole-Aitken Basin: Unveiling Impact MysteriesA fresh analysis of the Moon's largest impact crater, the South Pole-Aitken Basin, sheds light on its formation and the Moon's geological history. Researchers have discovered that this massive crater's shape indicates an impact from the north, challenging previous assumptions. As the Artemis missions prepare to land near this basin, they will have the opportunity to study material excavated from the lunar interior, potentially unlocking secrets about the Moon's evolution and the asymmetries in its crust.Nancy Chris Roman Space Telescope: Mapping the Milky WayNASA's upcoming Nancy Chris Roman Space Telescope is set to revolutionise our understanding of the Milky Way's interstellar medium. This mission will map around 20 billion stars, using infrared light to penetrate the dust clouds obscuring our view. Chief investigator Catherine Zucker explains how this data will refine our models of star formation and the galaxy's structure, while also addressing the ongoing mysteries of galactic spiral patterns and their role in star birth.www.spacetimewithstuartgary.com✍️ Episode ReferencesGeophysical Research Lettershttps://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/19448007Naturehttps://www.nature.com/natureNASA Nancy Chris Roman Space Telescopehttps://roman.gsfc.nasa.gov/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spacetime-your-guide-to-space-astronomy--2458531/support.Ancient Oceans on Mars: Geological Evidence RevealedThe Moon's South Pole-Aitken Basin: Unveiling Impact MysteriesNancy Chris Roman Space Telescope: Mapping the Milky Way(00:00) Evidence of ancient oceans on Mars(10:15) New insights into the Moon's largest impact crater(19:30) The upcoming Nancy Chris Roman Space Telescope mission(27:00) Science Robert: Heatwaves and their impact on global mortality

Long before Orson Welles provoked a panic with his 1938 radio broadcast of a Martian invasion in War of the Worlds, we were fascinated with the possibility of life on the Red Planet. We may be a step closer to finding it after the Perseverance rover turned up tantalizing evidence of possible ancient life in the form of mineral deposits in a Martian rock. But to be sure, we need to test that rock sample in a lab here on Earth, and the NASA Mars Sample Return Mission has been suspended. Still, our passion for our favorite inhabited world has not diminished. From the latest possible biosignature, to the supposed canals on Mars, to how the early 20th century Martian craze influenced vaudeville, we consider the many ways we are Mad About Mars. Guests: Janice Bishop – Senior research scientist at the SETI Institute. Adam Frank – Astrophysicist at the University of Rochester David Baron – Author of “The Martians: The True Story of an Alien Craze that Captured Turn of the Century America” Featuring music by Dewey Dellay and Jun Miyake You can get early access to ad-free versions of every episode by joining us on Patreon. This week, a nostalgic Cancer Last Quarter Moon is a time to reflect on what we've accomplished in our recent New Moon goals. Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, glides into her elegant home sign of Libra, and promptly meets up with idealistic Neptune, unpredictable Uranus, and probing Pluto. Power issues rise to the surface as Pluto stations direct. The Sun and Jupiter bring a fresh start, but might bring up conflicts in all types of relationships. Words can get a little hurtful as Mercury and Mars come together in Scorpio. And a listener question about houses in the horoscope that are ruled by the same planet - how are they connected? Plus: Calming tea, an autumn leaf, and a trip to Disneyland. Read a full transcript of this episode. It's eclipse season! Order your copy of my “Followed by a Moonshadow” eclipse report! RSVP for free to the Relationship Astrology workshop at https://www.quietmindastrology.com/relationshipsThis is the weekly forecast for Sunday, October 12th through Saturday, October 18th, and it's the last week of having Jupiter in Gemini, closing out major lessons that began around June. We're not done with those themes entirely, but there's a shift coming up this Saturday that brings a new sense of growth, abundance, and clarity in relationships and decision-making.We're in a year of big transitions with Saturn in Pisces, Rahu in Aquarius, and Ketu in Leo—moving beyond our old limits and transforming our relationship to power, leadership, and control. This week's major transits add to that momentum. On Tuesday, October 14th, Pluto in Capricorn goes direct. This ends a long retrograde phase that stirred the subconscious and brought up deep, hidden material for healing. Pluto direct helps us integrate what surfaced—unresolved wounds, samskaras, or old conditioning—and move forward with a renewed foundation. Globally, Pluto continues to reshape structures of power and authority, while personally it invites therapy, meditation, yoga, and inner work to create lasting transformation. On Friday, October 17th, the Sun moves into Libra. The Sun is considered debilitated here, meaning our drive to lead and control must yield to diplomacy, compassion, and fairness. This is a month to collaborate, not dominate—to focus on teamwork, compromise, and shared decision-making. With Mercury and Mars nearby, some conversations may feel charged or confrontational. Slow down, stay grounded, and weigh your words carefully. Be mindful of your nervous system responses and approach challenges with calm awareness. This energy supports delegation, collaboration, and finding balance in work and relationships. Then on Saturday, October 18th, Jupiter moves into Cancer—a brief preview of what's to come in mid-2026. This is one of the most auspicious placements for Jupiter, bringing expansion in finances, love, and emotional connection. It's a shift from the scattered mental energy of Gemini into the heart-centered stability of Cancer. This is the time to ground, slow down, and reconnect to what nourishes you. Cook warm meals, create supportive routines, limit screen time, and focus on simple, grounding practices.Jupiter in Cancer brings more ease, support, and optimism, but be mindful not to slip into complacency or heaviness. If you start to feel dull or unmotivated, reintroduce movement, warmth, and fire—spicy foods, energizing yoga, or inspiring projects. As we close this chapter of Jupiter in Gemini, reflect on what you've learned since June. You may have felt torn between wisdom and intellect, intuition and logic, or calling and practicality. Gemini energy can bring incredible creativity and insight, but also indecision and overwhelm. Jupiter in Cancer helps bring those ideas into form with warmth and emotional clarity. This week is a time to complete cycles, integrate lessons, and create stability where there's been uncertainty. Use the energy of Pluto direct to heal what's been hidden, the Sun in Libra to strengthen your relationships through fairness and empathy, and Jupiter in Cancer to ground in love and connection.Free Vedic Birth Chart & Training: http://www.quietmindastrology.com/freebirthchartInstagram:http://www.instagram.com/quietmindastrologyYouTube:http://www.quietmindastrology.com/youtubeMentorship Waitlist:http://www.quietmindastrology.com/mentorshipQuietmind Yoga: https://www.quietmind.yogaKeywords: nakshatras, grahas, rashi, bhavas, jyotish, yoga, doshas, kundali, transits, retrograde, aspects, dasha system, remedies, mantras, shani, chandra, mangala, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo

This week, the cosmos is all gas, no brakes. Venus moves into Libra to kick off a wave of balance, realignment, and relationship shifts — but not before she locks horns and shares sparks with Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto. Expect major transformations in love, money, and ambition as Pluto stations direct and the inner planets push us to level up. By week's end, Mars and Mercury tag-team fate itself, taking big action and sealing major deals. It's a week where the rubber meets the road — breakthroughs, bold moves, and a few reality checks all wrapped into one powerful ride.

Neptune is retrograding, sending its cosmic energy back into the Piscean archetypal consciousness of its prior 14-year cycle. This mutable, watery realm is a space for the imagination, capable of revealing anything from fantasy and illusion to deception or profound, untold truths. Talk Cosmos Planet Buzz brings together Special Guests from around the USA and the world to discuss subjects concerning us all. This conversation began on March 9th with Sean Kelley on Planet Buzz, following the Neptune in Aries Emerging Truth program. Right now, Neptune is at the world point of zero Aries, guided by initiating Mars. Neptune will soon slip back to boundaryless Pisces on October 22nd, lingering at 29 degrees until mid-January. The key factor of this retrograde is the potential for humanity to re-envision past dreams, course-correct associated delusions, and redirect the trajectory of life itself. Quietmind Astrology — Learn Vedic Astrology with Jeremy Devens
Learn practices to harness the energy of each day in the Deepen Your Practice workshop at https://www.quietmind.yoga/deepenEach day of the week carries its own frequency, a specific planetary energy that's been woven into our language and daily lives for thousands of years, yet most people never realize it.In this episode of the Quietmind Astrology Podcast, I'll show you how to harness the grahas (planets) through the simple rhythm of the week; from the Sun's vitality on Sunday to Saturn's discipline on Saturday, and how these ancient cycles can guide your routines, mindset, and spiritual practice. The names of the days themselves reveal the secret: Sunday for the SunMonday for the Moon (Lunas in Spanish)Tuesday for Mars (Martes)Wednesday for MercuryThursday for Jupiter (Jueves)Friday for Venus (Viernes)Saturday for Saturn (Sábado). These aren't coincidences, they're remnants of a system that once consciously aligned human life with cosmic time. When you understand this cycle, you can begin to plan your week with intention. Need to strengthen discipline and structure? Work with Saturn on Saturdays: wear dark blue or black, volunteer, fast, or spend time with elders. Feeling the need to reconnect with your spiritual path? Sunday, ruled by the Sun, is your day to center, honor your vitality, and reconnect with your higher purpose. Each graha has a natural day, color, and practice that helps bring its energy into balance:- Sunday (Sun / Surya): vitality, confidence, self-realization, leadership. Practice sun salutations, gratitude, and spiritual reflection. Wear orange or gold.- Monday (Moon / Chandra): emotions, nurturing, peace. Practice restorative yoga, gentle movement, and care for your home. Wear white or silver.- Tuesday (Mars / Mangala): strength, courage, action. Engage in exercise, assertive communication, or productive work. Wear red.- Wednesday (Mercury / Budha): communication, learning, adaptability. Great for writing, meetings, and kirtan. Wear green.- Thursday (Jupiter / Guru): wisdom, faith, purpose. Study, journal, or learn from a teacher. Wear yellow.- Friday (Venus / Shukra): love, beauty, relationships. Enjoy music, art, romance, and the senses. Wear pink or variegated colors.- Saturday (Saturn / Shani): discipline, service, patience. Do chores, volunteer, fast, or spend time with elders. Wear blue or black. You'll also learn how the hour of the day, called the hora, repeats this planetary pattern every 24 hours, meaning every hour holds a different energetic quality. And you'll discover how your own birth day of the week reflects your inherent tendencies. For example, being born on a Tuesday connects you to the Mars archetype: initiative, courage, and movement. These aren't just symbolic ideas, they're time-tested rituals that help bring rhythm, meaning, and flow into your life. When you start to live in tune with these cycles, everything begins to feel more natural: your work, rest, relationships, and self-care all align with the energy of the moment.Want to go deeper into daily practices and yoga sequences for each planetary energy? Check out my Deepen Your Practice Workshop at quietmind.yoga/deepen.5 Key Ideas from the Episode:1. Each day of the week corresponds to one of the seven visible grahas — Sun through Saturn.2. The planetary order of the days is based on the ancient hora system, not random naming.3. Your birth day of the week reveals part of your natural tendencies and dharma expression.4. Colors, rituals, and actions can align you with the day's planetary frequency.5. Living in rhythm with planetary time creates harmony, discipline, and inner peace.Free Vedic Birth Chart & Training: https://www.quietmindastrology.com/freebirthchartInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/quietmindastrology1:1 Reading: https://www.quietmindastrology.com/readingYoutube: https://www.quietmindastrology.com/youtube

The Artemis Program, the New Space Race with China, and the Role of Elon Musk Mark Whittington discussed the Artemis program and the new space race with China, emphasizing that the US is driven back to the moon by competition with the People's Republic of China. The moon is viewed as a source for mining and a refueling stepping stone to Mars, with Elon Musk's SpaceX playing a central role. Co-host David Livingston questioned the engineering challenge of SpaceX's Starship and life support systems for Mars. The program's sustainability depends on phasing out the costly, expendable Space Launch System (SLS).

CBS EYE ON THE WORLD WITH JOHN BATCHELOR THE SHOW BEGINS IN THE DOUBTS ABOUT THE HAMAS DEAL... BARCELONA 1899 10-9-25 FIRST HOUR 9-915 The Genesis of Hamas, the Failure of "Land for Peace," and Theological Jihad Cliff May discussed the failure of the "land for peace" policy following Israel's 2005 withdrawal from Gaza and the violent takeover by Hamas. Hamas, representing the Muslim Brotherhood and born from theological jihad, views its mission as the destruction of Israel to establish an emirate. May emphasized that any cessation of hostilities is merely a hudna (truce), used by Hamas to rebuild for future battles, not a lasting peace. 915-930 Javier Milei's Dilemma: Midterms, the Wobbling Peso, and the Push for Dollarization Mary Anastasia O'Grady analyzed Argentinian President Javier Milei's economic and political dilemma as he faces midterms with a wobbling peso leading up to the October 26th elections. The peso is suffering due to fears that the opposition Peronist coalition will block Milei's reforms. O'Grady advocated for dollarization as the solution to stabilize the currency, reduce interest rates, and impose fiscal discipline on reckless spending. Powerful financial special interests prefer the status quo of an unanchored peso. 930-945 The Valdai Conference, Russia's Global South Strategy, and Warnings to the West Anatol Lieven discussed the Valdai conference in Sochi, where President Putin projected confidence but issued stark warnings against the US providing Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine and Europeans committing "piracy" by seizing Russian cargos. Attendees focused on the BRICS group and the Global South as Russia pursues alternative alliances. Russians express disappointment in Donald Trump's failure to deliver peace and worry about the war's slow progress. The conflict is fundamentally viewed by Russians as a struggle with NATO. 945-1000 The Valdai Conference, Russia's Global South Strategy, and Warnings to the West Anatol Lieven discussed the Valdai conference in Sochi, where President Putin projected confidence but issued stark warnings against the US providing Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine and Europeans committing "piracy" by seizing Russian cargos. SECOND HOUR 10-1015 US Military Posturing, Venezuela's Cartel de Los Soles, and Instability in the Americas Professor Evan Ellis analyzed President Trump's escalating military posturing and actions against drug cartels, particularly impacting the Venezuelan regime of Nicolás Maduro and the Cartel de Los Soles. Senate members raised constitutional concerns over the use of military force. Ellis also examined political resistance to Argentinian President Javier Milei's austerity measures amid broader instability in the Americas, and noted positive strategic movements toward improved relationships with Mexico's Claudia Sheinbaum and Brazil's Lula da Silva. 1015-1030 US Military Posturing, Venezuela's Cartel de Los Soles, and Instability in the Americas Professor Evan Ellis analyzed President Trump's escalating military posturing and actions against drug cartels, particularly impacting the Venezuelan regime of Nicolás Maduro and the Cartel de Los Soles. THIRD HOUR 1100-1115 Marcus Tullius Cicero's Rise, Corruption Trials, and the Catiline Conspiracy Professor Josiah Osgood profiled the Roman "new man" orator Marcus Tullius Cicero and his dramatic rise through corruption trials and political intrigue. Cicero established his career by solving the murder case of Roscius and prosecuting corrupt Sicilian governor Verres for theft. His career climaxed with the suppression of the Catiline Conspiracy, elevating him as a patriot. However, Cicero made a grave political error by executing conspirators without trial, a move opposed by Julius Caesar. 1115-1130 Marcus Tullius Cicero's Rise, Corruption Trials, and the Catiline Conspiracy Professor Josiah Osgood profiled the Roman "new man" orator Marcus Tullius Cicero and his dramatic rise through corruption trials and political intrigue. FOURTH HOUR 12-1215 Fiscal Irresponsibility, the Cost of Debt, and the Loss of Welfare Reform Lessons Veronique De Rugy of the Mercatus Center criticized Washington's fiscal irresponsibility and the mounting cost of debt, arguing that enormous deficits create an anti-growth drag on the economy. She noted that failing to cut spending is a future tax hike. De Rugy lamented the loss of lessons from the 1996 welfare reform, which showed that work requirements reduced poverty, as politicians now prioritize spending checks over fiscal prudence.D 1215-1230 Deepseek's AI Claims, Huawei's Chip Ambitions, and US/China Tech Competition Chris Riegel analyzed the escalating tech competition between the US and China, focusing on Chinese AI firm Deepseek and noting its claims of superiority were potentially misleading due to non-transparency and reliance on Nvidia technology. He discussed Huawei's chip fabrication efforts and ambitions, concluding that US sanctions, particularly restricting ASML tools, keep China one to one and a half generations behind. The US scale advantage, exemplified by investments like Colossus, remains significant in the AI competition. 1230-1245 The Artemis Program, the New Space Race with China, and the Role of Elon Musk Mark Whittington discussed the Artemis program and the new space race with China, emphasizing that the US is driven back to the moon by competition with the People's Republic of China.
