Episode Highlights: women's sports, personal insecurities, significance, judgment, equal opportunities, feeling unintelligent, infidelity, superiority of men and women, confessions, conditioning Summary: In this episode of The HOT Seat, Kaylor and Coach & team member Bret cover a range of topics from small-town life in Saskatchewan to women's sports and personal insecurities. Kaylor candidly shares about his insecurities around intelligence and struggles with learning disabilities, recounting a vulnerable moment during a card game with his ex-girlfriend's father. The dialogue broadens to encompass productivity and self-worth, with both Kaylor and Bret sharing insights from their respective journeys. They also tackle the contentious issue of disclosing infidelity to a partner. As the conversation progresses, they explore the topic of gender superiority in different realms, followed by what Kaylor would say to Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau and dive into some confessions he's never shared before.  Takeaways: Personal insecurities can stem from upbringing and external expectations Equal opportunities in sports should be based on merit rather than handouts Insecurities and learning disabilities can have a significant impact on a person's self-perception and confidence Productivity can be a measure of worth, but it is important to find a healthy balance and avoid burnout The decision to disclose infidelity to a partner is subjective and depends on the situation and individuals involved Embracing both men and women's strengths and abilities and appreciate these differences rather than striving for complete equality If you enjoyed the episode, please be sure to take a screenshot and share it out on Instagram and tag @thekaylorbetts. Special Guest: Alison Green: Director of WOMBA More than 80% of parents in the UK are in employment yet there's remarkably little research. The research that has been conducted tends to disregard the experience and role of working dads – perhaps reinforcing the notion that this is a ‘woman's issue'. We have started with a unique, binary gender equal piece of research to explore the perspectives of both working mums and working dads. The aim of our research is to help parents returning to work thrive – for the benefit of the organisation, the individual, their family and wider society. WOMBA (Work, Me and the Baby) is a specialist coaching practice, which provides practical and psychological support, for working parents. They help organisations build inclusive cultures, supports working parents as they manage their careers and upskills accredited coaches to add Diversity & Inclusion to their coaching practice. They have worked with organisations across the public and private sectors including Tesco, The Government Legal Department, Universal Music Group and AND Digital. Alison Green is one of the directors of WOMBA (Work, Me and the Baby) and is an experienced, Masters qualified, executive coach. She specialises in supporting professionals as they make the transition to becoming a working parent whilst managing their careers. She has two grown children and now she has a little more time she's developing her yoga practice. Join us as we discuss how organisations can drive equal opportunities for working parents. Accountability Transcends Skin Color: Fostering a Fair and Just Society In our pursuit of a fair and just society, it is imperative to recognize that true equality goes beyond the color of one's skin. Embracing accountability as a guiding principle can help us move away from a system that unfairly privileges certain racial groups. In this article, we will explore how accountability should be prioritized over skin color, highlighting the importance of personal responsibility, meritocracy, and equal opportunities for all individuals. Embracing Personal Responsibility: Accountability starts with individuals taking ownership of their actions and decisions. Regardless of race, each person should be held responsible for their behavior and its consequences. By emphasizing personal responsibility, we promote a culture of integrity, self-reflection, and growth, encouraging individuals to actively contribute to a better society. Advancing Meritocracy: Meritocracy is a system that values individual achievements, skills, and qualifications over factors such as race or background. By embracing meritocracy, we create a society where people are rewarded based on their abilities and contributions, rather than inherited privileges or biases. Meritocracy promotes fairness, allowing everyone to have equal opportunities to succeed and thrive. Equal Opportunities for All: Accountability demands that we actively work towards eliminating systemic barriers that hinder equal opportunities. It requires creating an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of their skin color, has access to quality education, healthcare, employment, and other essential resources. By dismantling systemic inequalities, we enable individuals to fulfill their potential based on their capabilities, rather than their racial background. Addressing Implicit Biases: Acknowledging and addressing implicit biases is crucial in fostering accountability. These biases, often unconscious, can influence judgments, decisions, and behaviors towards individuals of different races. By promoting awareness, education, and self-reflection, we can challenge and overcome these biases, creating a more inclusive and just society that values individuals for their character, abilities, and achievements. Promoting Dialogue and Understanding: Open and honest dialogue is essential for fostering accountability and breaking down racial barriers. It is important to create spaces where individuals can share their experiences, challenge stereotypes, and engage in meaningful conversations. By fostering understanding and empathy, we can build bridges of trust and work towards a society where skin color does not define opportunities or privileges. Advocating for Systemic Change: True accountability requires addressing the root causes of racial disparities within our systems and institutions. It necessitates advocating for systemic changes that promote fairness, justice, and equality for all. This includes reforming policies, addressing discriminatory practices, and promoting diversity and representation in all spheres of society. Conclusion: Accountability transcends the color of one's skin. It is a fundamental principle that demands personal responsibility, equal opportunities, and the dismantling of systemic biases and barriers. By prioritizing accountability, we can move towards a society where individuals are valued for their character, actions, and contributions, rather than being judged based on their racial background. Let us strive for a world where accountability takes precedence over skin color, fostering a fair, just, and inclusive society for all. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/theyoungbloods/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/theyoungbloods/support

She explains how you can give little time to your family members out of your busy schedule, so that you can get out of your guilt to not spend time with your family members. She also explains, how she contributes towards expenses towards the family's needs & family's survival with her business along with her husband and thus taking equal responsibilities. Sixty-one million adults in the United States live with a disability — that's one in four adults, a staggering number when you consider how widespread ableism is. In a society that largely operates without adequate infrastructure, accommodations, and services for disabled people, what does the right to equal opportunity look like? In this episode, Tom and Claudia explore this question through the perspectives of three disabled individuals. Michael Stein is the executive director of the Harvard Law School Project on Disability, Elsa Sjunneson is a deafblind disability rights activist and science fiction writer, and Stephen Hallett is the Project Manager of the East Asia Disability Rights Project. Together, they help paint a picture of what it would really mean to take the rights of those with disabilities seriously.

On this week's episode of the Girlfriend Doctor Show, we're doing things a little differently. I attended the Women in Tech Global Summit 2022 in Paris, France. Under the High Patronage of Ms. Elizabeth Moreno, French Minister for Gender Equality, Diversity, and Equal Opportunities, the theme is ‘HERoes Shaping Tomorrow', which celebrates women across the world who are the Shakers, Makers, and Innovators of our new society and economy. The panel of speakers I was a part of consisted of high-caliber people and the talk revolved mainly around food supply and how the quality of our food has been gradually declining. Terri Cochran, a past guest here on the Girlfriend Doctor, emphasized how not only is the food quality decreasing, but the way in which we manage and waste it is slowly leading our manmade emissions here in our home, earth. Overall, the discussion was very fun but also essential because we need to become more aware of our actions. 70% of food is actually wasted in the home, and though it may only seem like a waste of money, wasting food is also a huge contributor to climate change. We need to come together and find solutions to the problems humanity is facing, and it starts with discussions like these. Tune in to find out how we can overcome these global issues! KEY TAKEAWAYS [10:30] Food storage and waste contributes to 35% of total manmade emissions [13:24] Diabetes and obesity in the country is growing exponentially [18:32] How Food Cloud is feeding the world [22:04] We waste a lot of food and water [22:54] Dr. Anna's take on ‘Food is Everything' [32:55] Becoming more conscious of food waste in the home SPEAKERS Teri Cochrane - CEO and Longevity Expert - Beyond Nutrition John D. Bolten - Associate Program Manager - NASA Applied Sciences Program Aoibheann O'Brien - Co-founder and Director of FoodCloud MEMORABLE QUOTES “With the war in Ukraine right now with Russia, there's many economic considerations; we're seeing at our gas pumps… but more importantly… the number 1 country where we get our fertilizer ash from is Ukraine.” “Food was everything to me because food was killing my son, and food has saved my son.” “We need to look at the changing trajectory of our world because it is changing in an alarming rate and food systems sit in the center.” “Food production storage and waste currently contributes to 35% of total manmade emissions that swarm at the transportation sector, and by the year 2050, will represent 70% of total emissions.” “1 out of 4 persons in the US cannot meet the eligibility requirements for military service because of obesity alone. That's a national security crisis.” “1/3 of our global food is wasted and ¼ of our global water use goes to wasted food.” “Our women in STEM can help fortify this food that becomes wasted then ends up landfills. We all have an emissions aspect to this. So I think this is one of the most brilliant solutions.” “In my three decades of practicing medicine, I have seen an increase in infertility, ADHD, PSOS, and cancers, at an earlier and earlier age.”  “It's estimated that in order to sustain support for an additional 2.2 billion people, we'll need to more than double our food production, unless we embrace the solutions that we're talking about here.”  “70% of food is actually wasted in the home. I know people think if I waste this, it's a waste of money but it's actually a major contribution to climate change and it's the one thing that we can take action on three times a day.”
