(Note: This episode is from Tonight with Dr. Steve's special Thursday livestream.)The era of the legacy media is over! And it wasn't taken down by conservative critics or alternative outlets – it self-destructed. In this episode, I break down the Rasmussen poll showing that voters believe the corporate media deliberately covered up Biden's cognitive decline. As CNN and MSNBC hemorrhage viewers and Fox News dominates the ratings, even establishment anchors like Jake Tapper are scrambling to rebrand, pretending this was all just “bad coverage.” But this wasn't just flawed reporting—it was fraudulent propaganda. Learn more about the pattern of lies that shattered public trust and ended the legacy media's reign. In the second part of this episode, we talk about the radical anti-natalist terrorist bombing of a fertility clinic in Palm Springs. This marks a disturbing escalation in the growing anti-life, anti-family ideology spreading across the radical left. This extremist movement, fueled by nihilism, climate alarmism, and hostility toward parenthood, is gaining traction among young progressives and poses a serious threat to the future of civilization. Joining me today is pronatalist advocate Malcolm Collins to expose the dangers of anti-natalism and offer a hopeful vision rooted in family, life, and cultural renewal.Check out Malcolm's Links Here!https://wizling.ai/https://parrhesia.io/student-signuphttps://www.youtube.com/@SimoneandMalcolm---Head over to https://turley.pub/VegasGoesBitcoin and reserve your seat today. Malcolm and Simone Collins host the podcast called “Based Camp” and are the founders of “The Pragmatist Institute.” Together, they have published multiple books, such as “The Pragmatist's Guide to Crafting Religion” (Being the only one I read). Simone & Malcolm Collins consider themselves to be part of “The New Right” - a pro-tech progressive conservative movement that is anti-racist, pluralistic, tolerant of sexuality, yet pro-religion and quite socially conservative for today's standards. So, full disclosure: even though Malcolm & Simone Collins are quite unconventional conservatives, they still see themselves as part of the Right and are trying to reform the Republican party. In this episode, after getting Simone & Malcolm Collins to clarify their political positions, I try to challenge views on Capitalism, Socialism, and contemporary American politics in general. As culture shifts and people value different lifestyles, Collins argues that urban culture is the parasitic force behind declining birth rates. Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: Why so many "racists" at Manifest?, published by Austin on June 18, 2024 on The Effective Altruism Forum. Manifest 2024 is a festival that we organized last weekend in Berkeley. By most accounts, it was a great success. On our feedback form, the average response to "would you recommend to a friend" was a 9.0/10. Reviewers said nice things like "one of the best weekends of my life" and "dinners and meetings and conversations with people building local cultures so achingly beautiful they feel almost like dreams" and "I've always found tribalism mysterious, but perhaps that was just because I hadn't yet found my tribe." Arnold Brooks running a session on Aristotle's Metaphysics. More photos of Manifest here. However, a recent post on The Guardian and review on the EA Forum highlight an uncomfortable fact: we invited a handful of controversial speakers to Manifest, whom these authors call out as "racist". Why did we invite these folks? First: our sessions and guests were mostly not controversial - despite what you may have heard Here's the schedule for Manifest on Saturday: (The largest & most prominent talks are on the left. Full schedule here.) And here's the full list of the 57 speakers we featured on our website: Nate Silver, Luana Lopes Lara, Robin Hanson, Scott Alexander, Niraek Jain-sharma, Byrne Hobart, Aella, Dwarkesh Patel, Patrick McKenzie, Chris Best, Ben Mann, Eliezer Yudkowsky, Cate Hall, Paul Gu, John Phillips, Allison Duettmann, Dan Schwarz, Alex Gajewski, Katja Grace, Kelsey Piper, Steve Hsu, Agnes Callard, Joe Carlsmith, Daniel Reeves, Misha Glouberman, Ajeya Cotra, Clara Collier, Samo Burja, Stephen Grugett, James Grugett, Javier Prieto, Simone Collins, Malcolm Collins, Jay Baxter, Tracing Woodgrains, Razib Khan, Max Tabarrok, Brian Chau, Gene Smith, Gavriel Kleinwaks, Niko McCarty, Xander Balwit, Jeremiah Johnson, Ozzie Gooen, Danny Halawi, Regan Arntz-Gray, Sarah Constantin, Frank Lantz, Will Jarvis, Stuart Buck, Jonathan Anomaly, Evan Miyazono, Rob Miles, Richard Hanania, Nate Soares, Holly Elmore, Josh Morrison. Judge for yourself; I hope this gives a flavor of what Manifest was actually like. Our sessions and guests spanned a wide range of topics: prediction markets and forecasting, of course; but also finance, technology, philosophy, AI, video games, politics, journalism and more. We deliberately invited a wide range of speakers with expertise outside of prediction markets; one of the goals of Manifest is to increase adoption of prediction markets via cross-pollination. Okay, but there sure seemed to be a lot of controversial ones… I was the one who invited the majority (~40/60) of Manifest's special guests; if you want to get mad at someone, get mad at me, not Rachel or Saul or Lighthaven; certainly not the other guests and attendees of Manifest. My criteria for inviting a speaker or special guest was roughly, "this person is notable, has something interesting to share, would enjoy Manifest, and many of our attendees would enjoy hearing from them". Specifically: Richard Hanania - I appreciate Hanania's support of prediction markets, including partnering with Manifold to run a forecasting competition on serious geopolitical topics and writing to the CFTC in defense of Kalshi. (In response to backlash last year, I wrote a post on my decision to invite Hanania, specifically) Simone and Malcolm Collins - I've enjoyed their Pragmatist's Guide series, which goes deep into topics like dating, governance, and religion. I think the world would be better with more kids in it, and thus support pronatalism. I also find the two of them to be incredibly energetic and engaging speakers IRL. Jonathan Anomaly - I attended a talk Dr. Anomaly gave about the state-of-the-art on polygenic embryonic screening. I was very impressed that something long-considered scien...

I have been told, ever since I was young, that if the world is coming to an end it's going to end in fire. Too many people, too few resources and as all the charts tracking human progress point upwards we're going to either exhaust our planet, or nuke each other in the process. But lately both malthusian and liberal optimist narratives have come under fire from a quite unexpected corner. Elon Musk travels the globe talking about it and the people driving the movement seem to be coming as much from the San Francisco tech scene as from rural traditionalists. So timely in this time of the most celebrated nativity, we wanted to talk with two of the leading lights of the pro-natalist movement. If you're a city dweller you probably already knew that babies aren't being born at replacement rates. But Simone and Malcolm Collins are making it their lives work to make the points just how catastrophic the numbers really are. So we invite you to an end of the year discussion about babies, religion found and lost. About new Gods and Old. Merry Christmas. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Last year, billionaire Elon Musk tweeted that population collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming. It is a trend occurring in many countries and although fertility remains high in some regions. Today, close to half of the world's population lives in a country where lifetime fertility rates are below replacement levels - with New Zealand's fertility rate declining by about 25% per decade. Musk's view is shared by others who describe themselves as pronatalists, a movement of pro-birth activists. At the centre are Simone and Malcolm Collins. They are co-founders of nonprofit initiative pronatalist.org, podcasters and authors - who say the situation is a "demographic catastrophe." Yet for those whose only cultural reference point for a pronatalist society is 'The Handmaid's Tale' the ideas can seem problematic. Simone and Malcolm Collins join Jim to argue their case.

Malcolm Collins is a parent, polymath serial entrepreneur, education nerd, pronatalist and a 5x bestselling author, including the Pragmatists' Guide series. He has a podcast and YouTube channel called Based Camp.In this episode, we talk about a wide range of topics including:Demographic Collapse: At current fertility rates in developed countries, there will be 5 grandchildren per 100 people. This demographic trend is not economically sustainable and will lead to fundamental transformations of society.Pronatalism: Pronatalism is a movement that Malcolm and his wife Susan are well, known for as the founders of Pronatalists.org. The analogy is with climate change: it's not about freezing the planet, it's about countering an unsustainable trend - population decline - by having more children.Charter Cities: Malcolm views charter cities as key for the pronatalist movements as incubators for a different culture that is not influenced by "urban monoculture".Some of Malcolm's surprising theses are:The collapse is coming when markets price in lack of population growth and divest from assets that losing money to places that grow. These shifts in market sentiments typically happen gradually, and then suddenly. The winning cultures need more than high birth rates. The Amish people have high birth rates, but little clout. The winning cultures need to have high birth rates and be technophilic and be at the forefront of technologyThe key for charter cities or special jurisdictions to attract Malcolm are: a) a guaranteed right to use reproductive technologies, and b) a harsh environment, like a space colony, that nurture a culture of hard work to surviveThis is a kaleidoscopic episode with insights into the frontiers of humanity.

Today Jason welcomes Malcolm Collins, a former venture capitalist and private equity investor. Together they discuss the economic impact of demographic decline. They explore various topics, including the declining fertility rates in countries like South Korea, the US, and China, and the potential consequences for the economy. Collins emphasizes that the current economic system is built on the presumption of constant growth, driven by a rising population, and highlights the unsustainability of the current trends. He also delves into the sociological forces contributing to demographic decline, such as the urban monoculture and the economic pressures faced by individuals. Collins argues that capitalism, while a powerful system, is not well-equipped to address the long-term value of adding humans to the system. Additionally, he challenges the notion that immigration can solve the demographic decline issue, pointing out the complexities and potential dependencies it creates. The conversation touches on the importance of foresight, the role of children as future workers and contributors to the economy, and the broken state of modern dating markets, societal changes, economic collapse, the future, the broken marketplace in terms of relationships and the value people place on themselves. They also touch on the Mormon culture and its sense of community. The conversation then shifts to the decline in fertility rates and its impact on the economy. They explore how traditional ways of storing assets may not be effective in a collapsing population scenario. They speculate on the future value of assets and highlight the importance of building communities and cultural groups in a shrinking world. The discussion concludes with a mention of AI and its potential role in the posthuman world. Malcolm encourages listeners to think ahead and adapt to the upcoming societal change. #manufactureyourluck #creatingwealth #wealthcreation #uncertaintimes #demographicdecline #fertilityrates #economicimpact #constantgrowth #unsustainability #sociologicalforces #urbanmonoculture #economicpressures #futureworkers #datingmarkets Follow Jason on TWITTER, INSTAGRAM & LINKEDIN Twitter.com/JasonHartmanROI Instagram.com/jasonhartman1/ Linkedin.com/in/jasonhartmaninvestor/ Call our Investment Counselors at: 1-800-HARTMAN (US) or visit: https://www.jasonhartman.com/ Free Class:  Easily get up to $250,000 in funding for real estate, business or anything else: http://JasonHartman.com/Fund CYA Protect Your Assets, Save Taxes & Estate Planning: http://JasonHartman.com/Protect Get wholesale real estate deals for investment or build a great business – Free Course: https://www.jasonhartman.com/deals Special Offer from Ron LeGrand: https://JasonHartman.com/Ron Free Mini-Book on Pandemic Investing: https://www.PandemicInvesting.com

For years, we have been inundated with messages that the world population is out of control as demographers project the global population to reach 10 billion people. But at some point, the rates will decline. People around the world will become older, leading to huge burdens on social services. Malcolm and Simone Collins are pronatalists fighting to stop the fertility collapse that threatens humanity. The husband and wife team are the elite intellectual leaders of the pro-natalist movement, which encourages the bearing of children and support of a higher birth rate to save Western Civilization. Reminiscent of characters from Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, hear Savage in one of his most fascinating interviews to date. We live in a world that is quickly secularizing. While living in South Korea as the director of Strategy at the nation's top-rated (by government survey) early-stage VC fund he uncovered at their current birth rate, there will be six great grandchildren for every hundred Koreans. This is tantamount to a disease wiping out 94% of the population over the next century. While Korea presents an extremist case, demographic collapse is seen all over the world. Even China's best efforts to boost its national birth rate have failed to bring the population up to a sustainable rate. This will be a defining issue of the next generation. A viral marriage proposal on Reddit, multiple successful companies, and international travel - and that's only the beginning.Originally a neuroscientist focused on brain-computer interface and the evolution of human cognition, whose work is on display at the Smithsonian, Malcolm Collins earned an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. There he met Simone, his wife and co-author, who at the time was director of Marketing at HubPages.com, managing a team of 20,000 freelancers. Together they co-founded the art commission marketplace ArtCorgi.com, after which Malcolm became Director of Strategy at South Korea's most desired source of early-stage capital, Simone earned her graduate degree from Cambridge while working in venture capital. The couple now runs a number of travel companies (with a focus on Travelmax), splitting their time between North American headquarters in Miami, FL and South American offices in Lima, Peru.In their new book, The Pragmatist's Guide to Life, Malcolm and Simone Collins encourage the use of applied pragmatic thought--a framework for systematically constructing your own beliefs about the world, leveraging those beliefs to decide who you want to be as a person, and creating the person you want to be.   “Be open-minded. Actively look for signs that you may be wrong.”   Simone's and Malcolm's Steps For Self Improvement: 1) Form a game-plan. Choose the thing you want to maximize in your life. Decide what matters to you. 2) Develop our internal character. What sort of internal character would best execute this game plan, to maximize the thing you think matters most? 3) Develop your public figure. Remain open to the discomfort of feeling offended. Grow yourself out of this stage, and this costume, and away from the cast of characters that remind you of who you are now, so that you have the freedom to redesign yourself. The Biggest Helping: Today's Most Important Takeaway   David:The emotion of offense is a red flag that you need to pay attention to that and you need to delve into that with a genuinely open mind; they may be correct in this thing that is offending you, or there may be elements of their worldview that can positively augment your own. I think it's a really important message in our world today, where on college campuses it has become very common to say “this could be offensive to someone, so you're not allowed to say it. You're not allowed to share this information.” In reality, if something is offensive that means it needs to be shared a thousand times more than any other piece of information because it means that it's challenging the way somebody sees the world.Simone: To add to that, if you are proven wrong about something, and you change your mind, it's not a bad thing. You're not a flip-flopper, you're not weak-willed. You're now a better person because you have better information. You're stronger. And you're flexible enough to improve, whereas other people just are broken and they can't. So - get offended, get excited about being offended, and if it turns out you've been wrong for years, well that's fantastic, because now you have better information and you won't make the same mistakes!--   Thank you for joining us on The Daily Helping with Dr. Shuster. In the market these days, there is an appetite for short, succinct, yet impactful messages. Eddie Turner seized that moment to produce a book targeted toward emerging leaders. Eddie is a specialist and a deep generalist. He is a certified information technology expert with digital marketing, social media and leadership development expertise. His new book is titled 140 Simple Messages to Guide Emerging Leaders. Eddie says the book is designed to be social media friendly, hence the 140, which is what Twitter was originally based on. Eddie addresses what an emergent leader is and also touches on his role in the Forbes Coaches Council. If you have the tool set, who do you want to be? That is one of the questions that Simone and Malcolm Collins try to address in their book, The Pragmatist’s Guide to Life: A Guide to Creating Your Own Answers to Life’s Biggest Questions. Simone and Malcolm Collins are husband-and-wife entrepreneurs and the managing partners of Collins Family Ventures, a firm dedicated to purchasing companies with a focus on compassionate management. According to Simone and Malcolm, the book provides a framework to help people think through the big questions in life without leading them to a specific answer while equipping you with the neuro-scientific tools necessary to transform your life into how you want it to be. Simone and Malcolm Collins are co-authors of the book The Pragmatist's Guide To Life: A Guide to Creating Your Own Answers to Life's Biggest Questions. Their book is a ruthlessly pragmatic guide to creating your own answers to life's biggest questions.   Each of this book's four chapters covers one of the most important questions a person must ask themselves: Rather than give you answers to these questions, this guide provides a framework that helps you develop your own answers while equipping you with the neuroscientific tools necessary to transform yourself into whomever you choose to be. What is the purpose of my life? How can I best realize the purpose of my life? Who do I want to be? How do I want other people to think of me?   The book was created as the work of a nonprofit institution (http://pragmatist.guide/), dedicated to helping people think through the big questions in life without leading them to a specific answer.  All proceeds from the sale of the book go to the nonprofit, and not the authors   Originally a neuroscientist focused on brain-computer interface and the evolution of human cognition (his work is on display at the Smithsonian), Malcolm Collins felt he could learn more about the way humans interact with the world and each other by pursuing an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. There he met Simone, his wife and co-author, who at the time was Director of Marketing at HubPages.com, managing a team of 20,000 freelancers. Together they co-founded the art commission marketplace ArtCorgi.com, after which Malcolm became Director of Strategy at South Korea's most desired source of early-stage VC capital and Simone earned her graduate degree from Cambridge while working in VC. The couple now runs a number of travel companies (with a focus on Travelmax), splitting their time between North American headquarters in Miami, FL and South American offices in Lima, Peru.    Listen as we talk about:   What it’s like to find purpose  Why the question of playing video games or studying for a test propelled Malcom into his quest for purpose Am I really my future self? How human consciousness has shifted over the course of evolution and has prevented us from fully thinking through our personal purpose How a statistical and scientific approach can  manufacture love Why they choose to apply thinking and rationality to purpose above other paradigms An important question to ask yourself that may change the way you question and construct your worldview Why they look for people and communities that they find offensive How a nail salon turned into a guide and into a book  How they believe after school programs can help kids check their beliefs  Why they chose prestigious schools Why they have to care what people think of them to fulfill their objective functions Why it’s important to create a caricature of yourself  Why relationships can bring you to purpose How marriage is a force multiplier that fulfills their collective purpose The three types of friends that help us achieve our objective function  How they can help you get cheap international trips      --------------Resources Mentioned: ---------------------     The Pragmatist’s Guide to Life: A Guide to Creating Your Own Answers to Life’s Biggest Questions - Simone & Malcolm Collins   The Red Pill- documentary about a feminist's journey into the Men's Rights Movement   The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists - Neil Strauss   Less Wrong Community - a community blog focused on "refining the art of human rationality"   https://travelmax.com/ - Their wholesale travel website for booking complex international trips    Email travelmax@ceo to work with Malcolm on booking cheap international travel     Join our purpose seeking podcast community at...   Facebook   Instagram   YouTube Channel    Facebook Group - Purpose Seekers   Help More Find Their Purpose by Donating to the Cause

When you look in the mirror, who do you see? What do you believe in? What are you all about? The real answers to these questions are buried deep inside, but with a little help and some tangible advice from the authors of The Pragmatist’s Guide to Life, Simone and Malcolm Collins, you can break down the hard truths you must face in order to achieve your highest potential. Malcolm was originally a neuroscientist focused on the brain-computer interface and the evolution of human cognition. With an interest to learn more about the way humans interact with the world and each other he pursued an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he met his wife and co-author, Simone. Simone at the time was the director of marketing at hubpages.com, managing a team of over 20, 000 freelancers. Together they went on to co-found the art commission marketplace www.ArtCorgi.com, after which Malcolm became the director of strategy at South Korea’s most desired source of early-stage capital, while Simone earned her graduate degree from Cambridge. Get to know why you do what you do and how you’ve arrived to be the person you currently are, starting now! Key takeaways: Your true self. You are who you are--from the style of clothes you wear down the vocabulary you use. Those simple, yet vital, details of yourself define you at first glance, but what if you want more? What if there’s a version of you that’s just waiting to burst through? For your ultimate transformation, start by asking yourself THIS question…[14:40]. Your reason for being. Going through a deep discovery process is tough. You’re going to ask yourself challenging questions, uncover hard truths about yourself, and eventually evaluate what your purpose in life is. And that “purpose” is so much more than one achievable thing, it’s bigger than life; but when you find it, it’ll look like THIS…[26:51]. Your tree of life. To build a sturdy structure, you have to have a strong foundation. The same applies to the body and soul. You want to nourish and fuel it with everything it needs to be fulfilled, but you need a game plan. Learn THIS secret to establishing your roots …[37:17]. Tune in and turn the volume up for a dose of inspiration and life lessons. You're never more than One Idea Away from a whole, new reality.

In this week’s episode, we interview Malcolm and Simone Collins, co-authors of the book The Pragmatist's Guide To Life: A Guide to Creating Your Own Answers to Life's Biggest Questions. As humans, we get to choose what we believe and who we want to be. This book is a ruthlessly pragmatic guide to creating your own answers to life's biggest questions.   Each of this book's four chapters covers one of the most important questions a person must ask themselves: What is the purpose of my life? How can I best realize the purpose of my life? Who do I want to be? How do I want other people to think of me? Rather than give you answers to these questions, this guide provides a framework that helps you develop your own answers while equipping you with the neuroscientific tools necessary to transform yourself into whomever you choose to be.   Originally a neuroscientist focused on brain-computer interface and the evolution of human cognition (his work is on display at the Smithsonian), Malcolm Collins felt he could learn more about the way humans interact with the world and each other by pursuing an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. There he met Simone, his wife and co-author, who at the time was Director of Marketing at HubPages.com, managing a team of 20,000 freelancers. The couple now runs a number of travel companies (with a focus on Travelmax), splitting their time between North American headquarters in Miami, FL and South American offices in Lima, Peru.   The book was created as the work of a nonprofit institution (http://pragmatist.guide/), dedicated to helping people think through the big questions in life without leading them to a specific answer.  All proceeds from the sale of the book go to the nonprofit, and not the authors. Malcolm Collins is professor of human biology at the University of Cape Town and a chief specialist scientist at the South African Medical Research Council. He is one of the leading researchers at the Exercise Science and Sports Medicine Research Unit, which is located at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa, a multidisciplinary institution committed to promoting sporting excellence and the health of Africans. This podcast complements BJSM's recent chat with Professor Tim Caulfield [http://bit.ly/10xfp8w], but focuses more on sports injuries and talent identification in sport. Professor Collins, who discovered the first gene variants associated with chronic tendinopathies, explains the implications for clinical care and screening. He also has discovered some genetic variant relationships with ACL injuries and we discuss what that means for players, parents and coaches. We discuss the topic of ‘What makes champions', a highly downloaded paper from BJSM's 2012 archive. Finally, we return to the big question in the field - should you send your DNA to a lab to discover either (i) what sports you may excel in, or (ii) whether you are at risk for, or protected against, certain injuries? Prof Collins is not afraid to give clear suggestions and comments so enjoy this podcast with a preeminent sports genetics authority.

13 Feb '12 Cemetery, Robin Schacht.  The Voice of Americans with Lewis Schaffer and Lisa Moyle. Our best show ever! Every day our show becomes more and more about our beloved Nunhead. This week we learned that Charles Dickens might have actually died in Nunhead. (Yes, Wikipedia that!) "Satheast" Londoner Malcolm Collins gives us the inside dope on the treasure of Nunhead, Nunhead Cemetery, as a representative of Friends of Nunhead Cemetery (FONC). "Why does a cemetery need friends?" is one question we asked. Download Voice_Of_Americans_with_Lewis_Schaffer_-_13th_Feb_2012.mp3 It has only taken us two and half years to have someone from his organization in the studio.  His daughter, Anita, couldn't make it and I was pleasantly surprised when Malcolm was able to hold the show on his own.   As always, Robin Schacht from Washington DC and Nunhead added good, wholesome American spirit to the proceedings.  Not that co-host Lisa Moyle isn't wholesome, she is, but in a very New York way. It struck me who Robin reminds me of: a very young, and perhaps even prettier Meryl Streep! Lovely Leanne Bower has flown the coop - sadly. A shout out to her Mom and her Dad up there in Barnsley or Burnley or Blackburn or Blackpool. It begins with a "B", that is all I know.  Lovely Charlotte ran the soundboard for the first time, under able direction of Chris Dixon, who also added a very funny joke to the show.  And Lisa Moyle was particularly pleasant! Enjoy.  Listen live most every Monday at 10:30pm Nunhead time (22:30 GMT) at 104.4fm in Nunhead and arounds or stream us at www.resonancefm.com. See me live most Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Source Below in Soho. Lewis Schaffer is Free until Famous, 11 Lower John Street, London, W1F 9TY reserve at www.sourcebelow.com
