Today's podcast is a throwback to 2016 at the Nordic Business Forum. I walk you through my introduction to the internet and how I came to realize the power of it. We talk about consumer attention and common sense and how those two topics play together. I also talk about the importance of time as a human and how we can leverage that as marketers. Then we break into a Q&A and I answer questions about how I hire my employees and also talk about the importance of being a practitioner of your craft. I hope you like the episode!

Minu seekordseks vestluskaaslaseks on Nordic Business Forumi värske juht Priit Liiv. Helsingis toimuv siinse piirkonna suurim juhtimiskonverents Nordic Business Forum on olnud juba aastaid Eesti juhtide ja juhtimisvaldkonnast huvitatute meelis kogunemiskohaks. Parimatel aastatel on konverentsil Eestist osalejaid ligemale tuhatkond. See sisaldab esiteks nii-öelda väärtuspõhist kooskõla. – Priit Liiv Kuulake ikka ...

Thanks to Nordic Business Forum for making the interview happen. And thanks to the sponsor of the season, Vincit.
Sami Miettinen kuvailee Yuval Noah Hararin keynote -puhetta Helsingin Nordic Business Forumissa 21.9.2022. "Thanks for your purchase! Can we get your feedback!?" We are asked for our feedback left and right. We're also giving it unknowingly more often than we think. When it comes to receiving it, why can it sometimes be so difficult? Of course, we all WANT feedback to do better, grow, and be the best humans we can be... but at the same time, wouldn't it be nice if someone could just pat us on the back and tell us, "All good!"? Maybe if they just delivered it the bad news to us sandwiched between all the positive stuff (the Oreo cookie technique)? Today's guest, Sheila Heen will share the unique difficulty around receiving feedback; why this conversation can be so difficult whether you're a giver of it or a receiver. We dive into: What are the different types of feedback are: Appreciation, Coaching, Evaluation, and what each form might look like Why giving feedback can be difficult and getting it can be even harder! The three triggers around feedback that can make us shut down How to get better at receiving feedback by leaning into curiosity What to do if you're naturally more sensitive to feedback What to do if you just don't want it in a certain area or from a certain person Why we need to RE-THINK the Oreo cookie feedback-giving technique And MORE!

As an entrepreneur, attending conferences is a great way to expand your network and learn new skills. In fact, they can literally change your life and business. When I started my business, the first conference I attended was Denise Duffield-Thomas' Money Bootcamp. This event completely transformed my life and business as well as my mindset and perspective around money. Since then, I have attended dozens of conferences, seminars, and workshops around the world and I highly encourage you to attend multiple events each year to expand your network and invest in yourself and your skills. Leadership skills can be honed from any discipline, especially martial arts. Aslak de Silva, the CEO of Nordic Business Forum, has successfully used his background in martial arts in being a word-class experience leader. Aslak who now speaks about sales, digital marketing, and leadership in general credits this to his early days in martial arts and the lessons he learned from becoming better every day and letting go of perfectionism. In this episode, he shares how he started achieving success and how he learned the value of learning principles. He also illustrates what happens behind the scenes in the Nordic Business Forum and how the audience can also benefit from the immense value that these conferences generate. Love the show? Globalization is very often thought of as a new phenomenon, but it isn't. It is simply the contact between diverse individuals and it actually began when prehistoric wandering tribes settled and integrated themselves into more stable tribal environments. Digitalization- what is that? It will be a tremendous opportunity for society: over the years to come, it will be one of the strongest drivers for growth, jobs, and well-being. But it is a little scary. You toss in the span of generations working today, diversity, integration and everything else and we conclude we are living in a rapidly changing world. These changes can also be overwhelming for the individual, for society as a whole and for business. But we must grasp these opportunities with both hands and welcome. This speaker integrates her own philosophy not only into her private life but helps companies recognize how important shifting values and social changes are in leading successful businesses.

See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

This week’s guest is Alexander Osterwalder. The man behind «Business Model Canvas», and one of the world’s sharpest thinkers within innovation and business development. “If you’re competing on product, services or price, it is much easier to be disrupted. I think all competition is moving away from product- and technology-innovation because it is hard. It is moving towards something that gives protection.” “The only thing giving better protection right now is a better business model. Or, even larger, like Amazon, a better organizational structure that allows you to continuously produce new business models. Those are what I call the invincible companies.” In this episode: *Why big companies find it hard to innovate *The difference between execution and exploration *Why product alone is not enough to survive *The seven questions to assess your business model. This keynote got me completely FIRED UP. The energy and fire in this room during this huge keynote were unrivaled. This keynote touches on multiple facets - ranging from why you need to be testing platforms for your business (instead of just reading the headlines about them) to advice for those who are little more timid, shy or introverted. AND, I try a popular Finnish spirit, right on stage. Give this a listen, you won't regret it, and get ready to be fired up. ;)
