College football is officially back, and Week 0 gave us plenty to chew on before the season really gets rolling. We start with North Carolina getting some revenge on TCU in Ireland, then turn to Virginia's emphatic win over NC State and a huge opening performance from Beau Pribula. How much should we believe after one game, and which results actually changed the way we see these teams? From there, we work through USC's somewhat misleading final score against San Jose State, Florida State's uneven opener against New Mexico State and a late-night Memphis-UNLV game that may have made the Group of Six playoff race a little more interesting. We also discuss Stanford's dramatic finish against Hawaii and the very different FBS welcome parties for North Dakota State and Sacramento State. Plus, the return of college football meant the debut of some noticeable changes to the TV experience. We review ESPN's post-BottomLine world, the new on-screen indicator showing which announcer is speaking, a pronunciation controversy involving Beau Pribula and one moment of sweet Eastern Pennsylvania vindication. Happy Sunday! Welcome to Heal Squad's The Sunday Set Up. Life lessons to help you start the week. This week, we talk about whether healing always requires going back into every dark corner of our past. We talk about the difference between learning from our pain and living in it, and whether constantly revisiting old wounds can sometimes keep us there instead of helping us move forward. We talk about staying present, choosing gratitude, and recognizing that everyone may need a different path to healing. Sometimes looking back brings discovery and perspective. Other times, maybe the healthier choice is to turn toward the light and simply live. We also explore the idea that the difficult people and experiences in our lives may be our teachers, and that, in ways we don't always recognize, we may be teachers for others too. This week, ask yourself: Am I looking back to learn… or am I looking back and getting stuck? What has my past taught me? And when might it be time to take the lesson, turn toward the light, and keep moving forward? Have a great week, Heal Squad. We'll Talk Shawtly! In this week's Interview Classic from ten years ago (9-1-2016), PWTorch editor Wade Keller talked live with ex-WWE Creative Writer Matt McCarthy regarding a variety of current events on Miz-Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, and more, plus some 2011-2012 Daniel Bryan backstage stories, and memories of Mr. Fuji. Then, a bonus interview conducted two days later (9-3-2016), PWTorch contributor Jim Valley hosted the “Saturday Morning Wrestling” Livecast with nostalgia topics and live calls, plus a live interview with Jeanie Clark, a/k/a Lady Blossom, who worked in multiple wrestling promotions on air including as a valet for Chris Adams and Steve Austin. She talked about her travels, her heartbreak, her addictions, and her recovery. It's a fascinating glimpse into the 1980s and early '90s territory days for a woman from England orienting herself to the pro wrestling industry and dealing with the ups and downs that came with that lifestyle.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/wade-keller-pro-wrestling-podcast--3076978/support.
Richard Elliott, a deputy manager in residential childcare in England, talks about his mother's childhood inside a Catholic convent and, later, a Catholic laundry in the north of England during the mid-twentieth century. Richard describes his mother's four years of separation from her family and her sisters as a child, her return home, an attack by a boyfriend at fifteen that led to her being sent away a second time, and two years of unpaid labor inside a Catholic laundry with no contact with her family. Richard also discusses discovering the full extent of his mother's story only recently, while interviewing her for a book they wrote together, and how his own work in residential childcare has changed the way he understands her. The conversation closes on Richard's petition calling on the UK government to open a public inquiry into the treatment of children in Catholic institutions in England. Richard and his mother published their book under the pen name M. Duffy. It is titled In My Own Words: Memories of the Catholic Convents and is available on Amazon. RAANAP: Live from RHAPCon Watch the podcast on YouTube! Rob Cesternino (@robcesternino) and Akiva Wienerkur (@keev26) need a podcast and every week, Rob and Akiva spin a wheel of listener-submitted podcast ideas, and whatever the wheel lands on is what they podcast about next. This week, Rob and Akiva are LIVE at RHAPCon in Milwaukee. RAANAP goes live from Milwaukee as Rob and Akiva bring RAANAP Live 2026 to the stage. This interactive episode blends reality TV banter with live games, audience confessions, and unexpected matchmaking—all powered by community participation and a dash of musical flair. Rob, Akiva, and a cast of live participants set the tone with stories of mysterious magician invitations and reflections on how the fandom has changed since their last live show. Audience energy drives the episode as secrets are submitted anonymously and lighthearted debates arise over Coke Zero, the ethics of finding one's cousin attractive, and the perils of favorite song requests for piano players. The episode spotlights several in-room challenges: listeners step forward to have their ages, marital histories, and salaries guessed through a series of on-the-fly social games. The sorting games produce clever questions and colorful stories, from first dates to boycott-worthy mayonnaise preferences. Highlighting the night is a matchmaking segment, where “RAANAPchelor” Alex questions three potential matches without seeing them, leading to a memorable pick and the promise of a Chili's date, courtesy of Akiva. Anonymous audience secrets range from the embarrassing (destroyed clarinets, “hoe phases” in one's 40s) to the criminally mischievous Social deduction games as Rob, Akiva, and guests try to order participants by age, number of marriages, and annual salary Anthony's honest take on synthetic sodas and musical pet peeves adds humor and candor Community love stories emerge, including a couple whose relationship is woven through RAANAP live events, podcasts, and road trips A matchmaking game brings together Alex and “VIP nanny” Lindsay, with a future podcast check-in already on the horizon The episode closes with hopes for more live events, potential onstage weddings, and gratitude for the RAANAP community's stories and participation. Will the podcast's matchmaking finally get Akiva “into heaven” by making a real couple? Join in for fan stories, live energy, reality-inspired antics, and a testament to the power of community. Happy Pot Luck Saturday! Chipped beef on toast, scalloped potatoes with the cornflake crunch, Pong, and the Trash-80. We're firing up the home computer and video game boom of the '70s and '80s. We talk Atari, Intellivision, Commodore 64, Apple II, Nintendo, Pac-Man, Pitfall, stacks of quarters at the arcade, and the infamous E.T. game. Plus, why the watered-down games at home made the arcade that much more exciting. We talk about word processors, electric typewriters, scientific calculators, handheld football games, old-school cash registers, and the simple joy of pushing a button and hearing that click. Then it's broken joysticks on Christmas morning, toys without batteries, and the bleak day-after-Christmas return line. It's a Pot Luck Saturday with Trash-80s, Atari cartridges, computer clubs, retro toys, Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, and a time when Pong really was enough. We'll Talk Shawtly! Tough situations bring feelings. Frustration. Failure. Feeling exposed. That's not the problem. The problem is what you do next. Most people look for the nearest thing to numb it. Food. Drugs. A workout. TV. Social media. More work. Niyi breaks down why the thing you pick doesn't matter nearly as much as the fact that you're running. Every time you numb instead of feel, you're reinforcing one belief: I can't handle a feeling. That's not a KILLA. That's a ghost, dodging something that can't even touch you unless you let it. The move is the opposite. Run toward the feeling. Sit in it. Study it. Figure out what it's actually telling you. Then decide on the right action and make your move. You can't lead from Self if you're afraid of what you feel. 3 days left to decide on your #1 goal and join Lock In. Enroll now at imnotyou.com/lockin

(April 4, 2012 + November 20, 2020) Savage shares why life "sucks," happiness is fleeting, and accepting life's difficulty makes it easier to handle. He argues American weakness comes from media and cultural delusions that everyone should be happy. He criticizes reliance on government "crutches and a fantasy culture fueled by TV and movies. He recalls growing up with radio, valuing imagination, and says creative people transform sadness rather than suppress it with drugs. He then advises parents to teach children reality and how to be alone and resilient. Savage then reflects on the passage of time. He ponders why the passing of time feels faster with age? He urges younger people, even those estranged from their parents, to cherish them because the bond is irreplaceable.
The story of the Kissel brothers, two wealthy siblings murdered on opposite sides of the world within three years of each other. Robert Kissel, a Merrill Lynch executive in Hong Kong, was killed by his wife Nancy in November 2003 in a case that became known internationally as the Milkshake Murder. Less than three years later, his older brother Andrew, a Greenwich, Connecticut real estate developer facing federal fraud charges, was found stabbed to death in his own home. This episode covers both cases in full: the collapse of Robert and Nancy's marriage inside Hong Kong's expatriate finance world, Nancy's two trials and her conviction, overturned conviction, and second conviction, and the murder-for-hire investigation into who killed Andrew, including the eventual pleas, verdicts, and the question of who actually held the knife. The episode closes with where the case stands today and where to watch more, including Dateline NBC, 48 Hours Mystery, American Greed, and the 2008 Lifetime movie The Two Mr. Kissels starring John Stamos. Greg Jenner is joined in western Europe by historian Dr Serena Dyer and comedian and actor Vic Michaelis to learn all about the hidden history of underwear. For as long as people have been wearing clothes, they have been wearing garments under them – Romans at Hadrian's Wall were sent underpants, and even Ötzi the Iceman was discovered wearing a form of undergarment. But what were people wearing before the invention of underwires and elastic, so essential to our modern conceptions of underwear? This episode traces the history of our underthings in western Europe and the USA from the medieval period, through the Tudor, Regency and Victorian eras, and into the modern day. Moving around the body, it takes in the linen shifts and shirts that were the universal undergarment for much of history, the development of drawers and stockings, and the shockingly recent invention of knickers and briefs. It also tackles stays and corsets, asking whether they were really as painful as film and TV depictions suggest, and looking at the reliability of on-screen underwear in programmes like ‘Bridgerton'. If you're a fan of fashion trends of the past, evolving views on beauty and the body, and debunking historical myths, you'll love our episode on the history of underwear. If you want more historical fashion and beauty trends, check out our episodes on the History of High Heels, Renaissance Beauty and haircare entrepreneur Madam CJ Walker. Hey Heal Squad! It's Friday, we fooled them again, and somehow made it through another week. It's another RGF Heal Squad Weekend Edition, coming to you from across the pond, where Kev is living the Lonely Guy life in London. We talk about punk rock hair, haunted hotels, soccer with billionaires, flat Diet Coke and stale pretzels, and why sometimes feeling better isn't another life hack….it's getting outside, finding some sunlight, and maybe letting the ocean knock you on your ass once in a while. We talk radio disappearing, doom scrolling versus actually learning something, and whether every minute really needs to be productive. Plus, with Mercedes chasing history, why presentation matters, what Michael Jordan understood about looking the part, and how sometimes showing the world your value starts with remembering it yourself. Plus, the $70 econo suit, Ziploc bag travel hacks, and proof that no matter how important the room, Regular Guy Kev can still rock it like a United flight attendant. Happy Friday. We'll Talk Shawtly! He explains how studying the Word of God confronted areas of compromise and ultimately led him toward repentance, transformation, and a new calling to teach on biblical sexuality. Throughout the conversation, TS and Mark address the growing cultural conflict surrounding sexuality, identity, truth, and the authority of Scripture. Mark challenges ideas such as defining truth individually and argues that Christians must evaluate cultural messages through the standard of God's Word.Mark also discusses the biblical framework presented in Sacred Sexuality, including his study of 185 Scriptures related to sexuality. The conversation examines God's design for sexual purity, holiness, marriage, singleness, celibacy, and the broader Christian call to live a life surrendered to Christ. The discussion then turns toward one of the most difficult questions facing many Christian families today: How do believers minister to someone they love who is living contrary to their understanding of biblical sexuality?Mark emphasizes several principles:Christians should first examine their own lives and walk in alignment with Scripture.Believers are called to share truth, but transforming another person is the work of the Holy Spirit.Prayer should be central to ministry and evangelism.Biblical truth should be communicated with both conviction and grace. No person is beyond the reach of God's mercy, forgiveness, and transforming power.TS and Mark also broaden the discussion beyond homosexuality or transgender issues, emphasizing that biblical sexual ethics address pornography, masturbation, prostitution, adultery, sexual activity outside marriage, and other forms of sexual sin. Their central message is that every believer is called to repentance, holiness, and surrender regardless of the particular area of temptation or struggle. The episode concludes with a message of hope: no one is too far gone for Jesus Christ. God's mercy remains available to those who turn to Him, and Christians are called to stand firmly upon biblical truth while extending grace to a culture searching for identity, meaning, and freedom.Featured Guest: Mark Richard Featured Book: Sacred Sexuality: Grace and Truth Revealed in a Culture of Confusion Recorded at: CPE, St. Charles, Missouri Host: TS Wright Podcast: Kingdom Cross Roads PodcastCall to ActionSubscribe to Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast, share this episode, and join us as we equip believers to stand on biblical truth, extend Christ-centered grace, and carry the Gospel into a culture desperately searching for answers. Keywords / TagsMark Richard, Sacred Sexuality, biblical sexuality, Christian sexuality, sexual purity, biblical truth, Christian worldview, homosexuality and Christianity, LGBTQ Christianity, transgender Christianity, gender identity, same sex attraction, Christian testimony, freedom in Christ, repentance, grace and truth, holiness, sexual sin, pornography Christianity, biblical marriage, Christian marriage, singleness and celibacy, evangelism, Holy Spirit, prayer, Jesus Christ, Christian discipleship, biblical identity, culture of confusion, Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast, TS Wright, CPE 2026, Christian podcast, faith podcast, Christian authors

Back on the mic for another Friday episode full of Bravo news, Dylan starts the episode with the bombshell that Leah Remini is joining RHOBH for season 16. With past reality TV experience and a major public persona, what will she bring to the group? Then, he unpacks a pair of upcoming premieres: Jeff Lewis' return to Bravo with Still Flipping Out, and the fifth season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. MomTok is still hanging on by a thread, and we're unfortunately back on the Taylor/Dakota rollercoaster. From there, Dylan dives into RHUGT's episode at Kyle's white party, where Vicki continues to be a drag, Luann and Erika squash their beef, and Gizelle and Porsha get to work on figuring out the RHOSLC drama. On the 5 September 1986, hijackers took over a Pan-American Airways flight during a stop-over at Karachi Airport in Pakistan. The armed Palestinian terrorists wanted to fly the plane to Cyprus and Israel, to free members of their organisation who were jailed there. But, after the pilots escaped the cockpit, the plane stayed on the ground for 16 hours with almost 400 passengers on board. When the power on the plane ran out – the hijackers began to shoot indiscriminately. 22 people were killed and more than 150 injured. Madhvi Bahunga was a Pan-American Airways flight attendant, who was on the plane that day. She speaks to Tim O'Callaghan. Witness History is a short BBC World Service podcast about history that takes you inside big moments from the past through first-hand testimony and archive. Scientists, artists, campaigners, soldiers, leaders and everyday people tell their true stories. When you subscribe to Witness History, you'll be taken inside turning points in world affairs from West Africa's fight back against Boko Haram in 2015 to the behind-closed-doors talks that led to the US-Cuba “thaw” and the surprise announcement of restored relations. You'll discover what it was like to experience disasters and how people recovered from them, including the Tabasco floods in Mexico, Portugal's worst train disaster, and the huge clean-up after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. You'll explore culture and ideas too: Sweden's Expedition Robinson, often credited as the first modern reality TV game show; the friendship between The Beatles' George Harrison and Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar; and the night a tiger attack brought Las Vegas superstars Siegfried and Roy's show to a sudden end. And if you're curious about inventions, we'll tell you how air fryers, BlackBerry, YouTube, Alexa, GPS, superglue, the shopping cart (shopping trolley) and bubble tea were created. FOOTBAHLIN MERCH:https://footbahlin-with-ben-roethlisberger.clockwise.io/productsPreseason football always tempts you to overreact, and we fight that urge the only way we know how: by going straight to the decisions that will matter when the games count. From Buffalo's new stadium quirks to a broadcast that somehow missed key moments, we use the chaos as a reminder that the NFL is a details league and the Steelers' margin for error is tied to roster choices and execution, not preseason vibes. The biggest debate is simple and heated: do you keep three quarterbacks or four on the 53-man roster? We walk through the real roster math and why that extra QB spot can quietly steal depth from the offensive line, defensive backs, or special teams units that you'll lean on once injuries hit. Then we get into what we actually saw from the young quarterbacks, including Will's poise, ball placement on RPO throws, and the context behind a turnover that looks worse on TV than it does on film. We also talk about Drew's arm talent, his progress with footwork, and why preseason miscommunication with receivers shouldn't be mistaken for a QB problem. From there, it's all about the trenches and the ripple effects. We break down the Steelers' offensive line outlook and the right tackle battle, why we'd rather live with rookie lumps than slow growth on the bench, and how an efficient run game is the key that unlocks play-action and the entire West Coast offense around Aaron Rodgers. We also hit defensive standouts on the roster bubble, special teams return-game worry, and the tough human side of cut week when careers change overnight. If you're getting ready for Week 1 and want a clear Steelers season preview without the noise, hit play, subscribe, and share this with a friend. After you listen, leave a review and tell us: three quarterbacks or four, and who's your pick for QB2?

They break down the latest box office numbers and review a batch of new releases, including the long-awaited Looney Tunes comedy Coyote vs. Acme, Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars, and the creepy new horror movies It Ends and Buddy, about a Barney-like kids TV character who starts killing kids. Later, Esmeralda Leon and Nick make their weekend plans and wrap up their wonderfully weird conversation about celebrity phobias. This time, it’s Khloé Kardashian’s fear of belly buttons, followed by the discovery of exactly what anatidaephobia is. Here’s a hint: it involves ducks. [Ep 486]
Black on Black Cinema tackles Chameleon Street (1989), Wendell B. Harris Jr.'s astonishing writer-director-star debut based on the true story of Detroit con artist William Douglas Street Jr., who successfully impersonated reporters, lawyers, an Ivy League exchange student, and even a surgeon, performing over 30 real hysterectomies without any medical training. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 1990, beating out Reservoir Dogs, and then inexplicably went without distribution for over a year, effectively burying Harris's career before it started. The concept is genuinely brilliant, a razor-sharp satire about race, class, and identity performance in America, anchored by a magnetic, one-of-a-kind lead performance from Harris himself. But the execution is a different story. The film is tonally unpredictable, structurally chaotic, and at times narratively difficult to follow, swinging wildly between avant-garde experimentation and straightforward biopic beats without clear rhythm. We break down what makes Chameleon Street a genuine one-of-a-kind vision worth seeking out, where the filmmaking gets in its own way, and why this would be ripe for a modern remake with better structure and focus.Black on Black Cinema is a long-running podcast featuring in-depth Black movie reviews and frank conversations that matter to the Black community.
