Charlie Kirk's assassination revealed a disturbing new cultural and political reality for those who share any of Kirk's views: it is possible, in our day and age, to be shot for speaking your mind. How can we recover from this dark event, whose effects have reverberated across the globe? How can we reclaim the possibility of disagreement with each other without resorting to violence? What conditions must be in place to make civil debate both possible and productive again, especially as our society appears to be growing more polarized? Western Miscalculation and the Core Problem of Russia's Dominance Ideology. Professor Eugene Finkelargues that debates about Ukraine joining NATO or the EU are secondary, as the core problem remains Russia's deeply rooted ideological belief that it must control Ukraine. Western powers, including the US and Southern and Central Europe, have repeatedly misread Russia as transactional and rational, failing to recognize it as a revanchist neo-imperialist power. This miscalculation led to poor decision-making and a lack of preparation. Eastern European countries, who understood the enduring Russian threat, were wrongly dismissed. The professor concludes by noting his grandfather's brave refusal of a KGB recruitment offer after World War II. Guest: Professor Eugene Finkel. 1855
Paul Gregory argues that Lee Harvey Oswald's primary motive was a profound belief that he was special and destined for greatness, fostered by his mother. Gregory insists Oswald is often underestimated, highlighting his achievements as a master manipulator who deceived the Soviets and planned the General Walker assassination attempt. A secondary but major factor was Marina, who constantly scorned his intelligence and manhood, making him feel worthless. Oswald's trial was meant to be his glorious moment to demonstrate his brilliance to the world and Marina. Killing the president offered a way to prove himself to his wife and establish himself as a historical figure. Guest: Paul Gregory. 1961

Another thing Jon Gruden to The Fan Morning Show today was how much he loves Will Howard. How much are you buying in? Chris thinks it is totally overboard stuff from Gruden and that we can't keep building up these expectations for a guy that barely practiced before the season. Chris went as far to say Howard won't start more than a half season worth of games as long as he's wearing black & gold. Steve Palazzolo from the 33rd Team joined the show. Steve was skeptical of Will Howard when he transitioned from Kansas State to Ohio State, and he mostly got proved wrong last season as Howard won the national title. Steve pointed out some issues, but why he was impressed by his work last season. Steve said a lot of people can easily knock Howard, or any OSU QB, for being surrounded by great receivers, but he showed that he can get the ball to playmakers. Steve doesn't think Aaron Rodgers has lost anything physically, but he has his games/moments where he is showing signs of his age. Steve worries about how consistent Mike Tomlin is and why the Steelers should reach their cap on the same thing every year. Donny Football Debrief – So, just how much is Will Howard paying attention to Aaron Rodgers?
What's the difference between believing in God and actually having faith? In this episode, we explore one of the most misunderstood topics in the Christian world — and one that has real consequences for how we live, trust, and follow Jesus. Many people "believe" in God the way we believe historical facts exist. Even the demons believe — and tremble. But biblical faith is something far deeper: it's trust, surrender, and a relationship that transforms how we live. Join me as we unpack the surprising distinction between belief and faith, why belief alone is never enough. This episode offers clarity, encouragement, and a simple prayer for those who want to move from belief into living, active faith. If you've ever wondered what separates "I think this is true" from "Lord, I trust You," this message will speak straight to your heart.
Understanding why we should pray for mercy and asking for His Favour. We should never neglect the mercies of God in our lives and live a life of favour with forgiveness. In today's episode, I share how faith alone isn't enough to move us forward without intention and disciplined action. I talk about how comfort can become interference, why small consistent habits protect our purpose, and how non-negotiable behaviors like sleep, movement, and family create a foundation for growth. I explain why faith should be the predisposition and intention the disposition—the driving force that turns belief into aligned action. Through stories of resilience, accountability, and divine timing, I show how lowering the bar, stacking wins, and choosing meaning over fear can reveal progress even when there's no evidence it's possible.
As humans, we are governed by our core beliefs, many of which we aren't even aware of. There are so many things we believe to be true and so many foundational concepts of our perception we never question. So in this episode, we're going to question them. Ram Dass was an American Spiritual teacher, psychologist, and writer. He gained popularity in the early 1960s by bringing concepts of consciousness and spirituality from India, to America. His book, "Be Here Now" is a spiritual classic selling over two million copies. He began as a professor at Harvard before being fired along with Timothy Leary for experimenting and advocating the use of psychedelics. Now, as a proper Christian, I was fairly unaware of Ram Dass. That is until the winter of 2024 when my Dad, Dan Miller of 48 Days To The Work & Life You Love fame, was diagnosed with cancer. During the six weeks between his diagnosis and ultimate death, he had little interest in any topic other than spirituality. And one of the people he tuned into was Ram Dass. My brother Jared and my Dad would pull up YouTube videos of Ram Dass and I got my first real exposure. My spiritual journey since then has been nothing short of revelatory. And such was my delight when the giant publisher, Harper, contacted me about doing a show on a new book from Ram Dass. What it ended up being was a new book compiled from over 50 talks Ram Dass conducted, compiled and edited by Parvati Markus, who was at the right hand of Ram Dass since the beginning of his spiritual leadership. Parvati is an author of multiple books on spirituality and one of the closest long term friends to Ram Dass that ever existed. In this episode Parvati joins me to talk through key issues Ram discusses such as our human propensity, especially in western cultures, to think in terms of “us” vs “them.” We discuss Judgement vs appreciation. Then attachments and the danger of what we cling to. And we spend a lot of time talking about the dangers of identifying with our roles, which for much of humanity, again, I think exaggerated in our western culture, is all that we know to identify with. The new book, which I've read front to back twice now, is There Is No Other: The Way to Harmony and Wholeness. Connect more at ramdass.org. This episode has themes of: Authenticity, Belief systems, intuitive awareness, self awareness, nervous system regulation, discernment, alignment & purpose, leadership, belonging and empowerment. Most people want two things: to belong, and to be authentic. But the moment belonging feels threatened, authenticity is the first thing we abandon.Because to the human brain, belonging is safety. We'll shapeshift, silence, and shrink ourselves, not because we're weak, but because our biology is still wired to believe that being cast out equals danger. The work isn't to stop wanting belonging. It's to learn how to belong without betraying yourself.

Send us a textA desperate father in Mark 9 says five words that many of us whisper in the dark: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.” That moment becomes our roadmap. We walk through the emotional break that follows Christ's invitation—“If you can believe, all things are possible”—and trace how a shift in address from “Jesus” to “Lord” reframes worship, prayer, and the very posture of our hearts. Titles aren't semantics; they're signals of allegiance. When we call Him Lord, we approach Him as the One who commands storms, silences demons, and holds our lives together. From there, we get honest about fractured faith. Belief often comes in pieces—bold in the morning, brittle by night. Rather than shaming that reality, we dig into why the father's plea is both humility and good theology: if all things are possible with the Lord, then stronger faith is one of those “all things.” We challenge the myth that grace starts you and you carry the rest. Scripture calls us to work out salvation, not work for it; Christ is not a distant examiner but the Author and Finisher who strengthens, preserves, and completes. We also lift the lens to spiritual authority. When Christ rebukes the unclean spirit and raises the child, He signals the limits of Satan's reach and the nearness of the kingdom. That changes how we face doubt, attack, and dry seasons. Instead of spiraling, we return to the prayer that cannot be refused: help my unbelief. If language shapes worship, this prayer shapes endurance. It keeps our eyes on the Lord's sufficiency rather than our stamina, and it turns daily uncertainty into an open door for grace.Listen for a practical path you can follow today: honor Him as Lord, confess real belief without pretending it's perfect, and ask for the help only He can give. If this conversation steadies your faith or challenges your habits, share it with a friend, subscribe for more, and leave a review to help others find it. McKay tackles a quiet but pervasive modern crisis: the decline of belief in ourselves, our institutions, and each other. Using powerful case studies and the core concept of the "Belief Window," he argues that this trust can be intentionally rebuilt, transforming our personal and collective realities.Starting off with Matthew McConaughey's observation that "belief is in short supply," McKay uses a 2025 Pew Research Center study to explore the root causes of this erosion of trust, from the internet's rise to political polarization. The episode then pivots from problem to solution, drawing on the real-world success of a struggling Scottish primary school and the cultural transformation of the Cleveland Clinic. These examples illustrate how specific, actionable strategies - such as listening, celebrating small wins, and fostering empathy - can reignite trust and achieve remarkable results.Main Themes:Belief is the invisible architecture of a functioning society, and its decline is a quiet crisis.Trust can be systematically rebuilt through intentional acts of listening, learning, and celebrating small wins. Our "Belief Window" is the powerful, personal filter that shapes our reality, and it can be changed.True leadership, whether in a family or a business, is about actively building belief in others.A belief in God or a higher purpose can provide a moral foundation and hope in the face of adversity.Deep learning fosters belief, while the age of easy information can lead to superficiality and mistrust.Top 10 Quotes:“In our world today, belief is in short supply.”“Trust is like the air we breathe. When it's present, nobody really notices. When it's absent, everybody notices.”“If you'll go home and be a light, not a judge, trust and belief will grow.”“The decline of belief is not an abstract philosophical idea. It very well could become a quiet crisis shaping our homes, our workplaces, and ourselves.”“You were not put here on this earth to be less than. You're not defined by where you've been, only by where you're going.”“Learning increases belief.”“Our belief window makes all the difference.”“The simple belief that there is a life after this, and the choices we make here in this life have a lasting impact, cause people to make better choices.”“If you bet on God and you open yourself to His love, you lose nothing, even if you're wrong.”Show Links:Open Your Eyes with McKay Christensen
