Are the lowest-rated attractions at Walt Disney World actually bad? Or are some of them hidden gems that deserve another chance? Doug and Lauren take on 10 of Disney World's lowest-rated attractions and debate whether you should skip them, ride them anyway, or give them a little more love.
Choo Choo! We're truly headed Back to Hogwarts, as a new trailer for HBO Max's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone TV Show is here! We break it down scene-by-scene, spot familiar faces, point out the book-to-TV loyalty, and question what's going on in some exciting-looking scenes. We're going to be spoiled with a LOT of great scenes when the series premieres this Christmas! Plus, we look at what did (or rather, didn't) happen on Back To Hogwarts day itself. Maybe Harry Potter Inc. needs to take a page out of Apple and Disney's books, and learn how to create genuinely exciting events. What was your favorite part(s) of the trailer? Susie watched the Boeing documentary, Freefall, which exposes the company's negligence that likely led to many of the recent airplane crashes, malfunctions, and fatalities. We learn about a Titanic-themed slide a family installed on their farm, which infuriated residents who thought it was insensitive. We debate whether making light of the tragedy is inappropriate or people are being overly sensitive. We learn the crazy reason clownfish lose all but one of their stripes as they age. We hear about a man paying a ton of money for a matchmaker, but has been on 40 first dates, and hasn't found Mrs. Right. We think we know why. In the middle of recording Susie receives dozens of texts about Dolly Parton's death, and we eulogize her on the fly. We learn what happens in the brain when we have an "aha moment." And we find out that humans are not the only animals who have pets.00:00 - Personal Updates, Exam Stress, and Comedy Show Mishaps11:27 - Unpacking Boeing's Negligence and Air Travel Anxiety20:29 - Is a Titanic-Themed Slide Insensitive or Harmless Fun?29:15 - Peer Pressure Makes Clownfish Lose Their Stripes34:09 - Why a $25,000 Matchmaker Client Stays Single44:30 - An Emotional Eulogy for Dolly Parton (False Alarm)49:25 - Exploring the Science Behind Our "Aha" Eureka Moments01:00:32 - The Evolutionary Enigma of Animals Keeping Pets01:08:17 - Reflecting on Cultural Grief and Saying FarewellBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Head to https://airdoctor.com and use promo code CANDY to get UP TO $300 off today! Lauren and Eric look at Disney's ever-expanding Halloween calendar, the rise of “Summerween,” and whether August is becoming the new October. HIGHLIGHTS • When should Halloween season officially begin - July, August, September, or October?• How Disney's Halloween parties and merchandise keep creeping earlier on the calendar• Why “Summerween” searches and early Halloween shopping are surging• Disney's character pairings for all 32 NFL teams• The best, worst, and most confusing Disney-NFL mascot choices, from Pete and the Steelers to Darth Vader and the RaidersHOSTS Eric Hersey – X: @erichersey | Instagram: @erichersey Lauren Hersey – X: @laurenhersey2 | Instagram: @lauren_hersey_ FOLLOW – DIS & HERS Website: DisAndHers.com Instagram: @disandhers TikTok: @disandhers Facebook: Dis and Hers YouTube: Dis & Hers FOLLOW – JIM HILL MEDIA Facebook: JimHillMediaNews Instagram: JimHillMedia TikTok: JimHillMedia SUPPORT Support the show and access bonus episodes and additional content at Patreon.com/JimHillMedia. Disney merchandise is changing fast, and this week Jim Hill and Lauren Hersey dig into the trends coming out of D23, from bag charms and high-end collectibles to the rise of "quiet luxury" fandom. They also look at the frustration surrounding supposedly special D23 merchandise appearing on DisneyStore.com almost immediately after the event. Then the conversation shifts to World Princess Week, where Disney is pushing its princess brands into fitness, jewelry, fashion, and other lifestyle categories aimed squarely at grown-up fans. NEWS • Disney's next limited-time pop-up store heads to Paramus, New Jersey, following the crowds and long lines seen in Pittsburgh. • Licensing industry observers see Disney moving beyond character T-shirts toward bag charms, premium collectibles, home decor, publishing, and understated "quiet luxury" merchandise. • Limited-edition D23 collectibles continue to command huge demand - and eye-popping prices on the secondary market. • Fans question the value of D23 merchandise access after many convention items appeared on DisneyStore.com just one day after the event. • Disney continues expanding major brand collaborations, with new collections tied to Vera Bradley, Loungefly, Crocs, ColourPop, Pandora, and more. • World Princess Week's "Create Your World" campaign pushes Disney Princess into lifestyle categories built around confidence, personal interests, and self-expression. • Disney partners with Peloton on a princess-inspired Pilates class while Crowned Athletics brings princess branding into fitness apparel. • Pandora expands the franchise into higher-end jewelry with a Disney Princess lab-grown diamond collection featuring Tiana, Jasmine, Moana, and Snow White. • Jim and Lauren look ahead to how projects including live-action Tangled and Frozen 3 could fuel the next wave of Disney Princess merchandise. Hour 1: Bob's Movie Club has its next assignment: Steel Magnolias (1989). Bob's never seen this tear jerker, and it's only fitting to honor Dolly Parton. Speaking of honoring, Sarah pays tribute to Gloria Steinman. The Detroit Tigers just signed a 12-year old for $4 Million. Should Tiger Woods be able to drive a golf cart? ‘Zombies' Disney star, Carla Jeffery, suddenly passed away at 33. Ben Affleck was “caught” defacing Aflac signs. Jared Leto sold his compound and is getting out of Hollywood. Vinnie is stoked for young people. These friends were full of regret after letting AI plan their hiking trip. Hour 2: Tim Curry's favorite ending of ‘Clue' has never been seen. Internet fanatics are trying to change that. Scarlett Johansson couldn't talk Colin Jost out of buying the Staten Island Ferry. The joke's on her! It's a comedy club now. Simon Cowell is having another spine operation, so Heidi Klum is returning to America's Got Talent. If you're experiencing nice weather, enjoy it! El Nino is on the way. Screenshot it and forget it! Could you fake your own death and get away with it? Plus, a new Hawaiian shirt might keep you safe from AI. Hour 3: The new Harry Potter series sparks a lot of conversation. Dancing with the Stars has announced the entire cast for its upcoming season. Julia Stiles, Taylor Hanson, and a husband of a Mormon wife. Sarah and Bob telling each other who everyone is. Plus, a moment to appreciate MMMBop. In the age of Waymo, Tesla is introducing the Cybercab. GLP-1s are truly undeniable. Sarah remembers her days in a coverband. Does she still have those velvet pants? Hour 4: The Taylor Swift law is being implemented in Brazil. Plus, new rules about ticketing platforms. Travis Kelce bought a gorgeous lake house in Ohio. Some lucky people just became neighbors with Taylor Swift. Former Bachelor Clayton Echard says Ronn Owens' daughter is a threat to others. It's a weird time for jobs, ya know, since AI is taking a lot of them. Vinnie is telling us the 13 fastest growing jobs that pay over $100K. Plus, When Did That Happen?!

Black on Black Cinema breaks down Raven-Symone's resurfaced comments questioning whether her own iconic character, Raven Baxter from That's So Raven, was actually Black. On her podcast Tea Time, Raven told Kalen Allen, "Take away the color, make them green, and hear the words. What color are they?," challenging the idea that the show's Blackness was inherent rather than just visual. The internet had immediate and strong reactions. Fans pointed to the show's entire episode about racial profiling, Tonya's locs, Victor's soul food references, Cory's Black history paper storyline, and Della Reese's jazz singer character as clear, undeniable markers of Black identity woven directly into the writing, not just the casting. We break down both sides of this: is Raven making a nuanced point about Blackness not being monolithic, or is she minimizing a show that meant something real to a generation of Black kids who rarely saw themselves centered on Disney Channel? The next film to be reviewed is Tyler Perry's upcoming third movie in the "Why Did I Get Married trilogy." We will be breaking our promise about no more Tyler Perry films to review "Why Did I Get Married Again?" which reunites most of the original cast for one last wild time.Black on Black Cinema is a long-running podcast featuring in-depth Black movie reviews and frank conversations that matter to the Black community. Skywalking Through Neverland: A Star Wars / Disney Fan Podcast
We're heading back to Rebel Scum Con III for behind-the-scenes stories from The Mandalorian and Grogu with creature and stunt performers Misty Rosas, Richard Cetrone, and Donald Mills! Misty Rosas reveals how she served as the on-set reference performer for Hugo Durant—and surprises us with the news that she also helped bring Gatori to life. She explains how her physical performance helped establish the characters' movements and eyelines before ILM completed the CG animation. Misty also drops an exciting tease about Hugo's food truck possibly coming to Galaxy's Edge! Next, Richard Cetrone takes us inside his performance as Rotta the Hutt. More than Rotta's stunt performer, Richard embodied the breakout character in all of his scenes. Then Donald Mills shares what it was like stepping into the role of legendary bounty hunter Embo and becoming part of Lucasfilm's close-knit family of performers. As a bonus, Kevin Bradford introduces us to Galaxy Tours, which takes Star Wars fans to the real Tunisian filming locations from A New Hope, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. We're already in the early planning stages of our own Tatooine adventure—and you may be able to join us! All interviews were recorded at Rebel Scum Con III. A long run can be tough, but this week proves it can also be downright ridiculous: surprise humidity, shaky confidence, and yes, a flying insect that turns one runner into an unwilling protein experiment. We share real training updates for the ramp-up to Wine and Dine and Marathon Weekend, including why “trust the process” is more than a slogan when the miles start to bite. We also talk practical hot-weather strategy, from carrying fluids to testing electrolytes, and what we're noticing after trying Hydro Patch on long runs (helpful, not magic, and definitely not a replacement for water). Then we bring on our guest, Devin Siebold, the former educator turned stand-up comedian behind the viral Theme Park Comedians content. Devin tells the story of leaving the classroom, what comedy taught him about people, and why laughter is often a signal of safety when life feels heavy. If you love Disney World, Epcot, Broadway references, and sharp Disney-adult humor, his behind-the-scenes look at writing and filming in the parks is a blast. We also dig into Devin's runDisney journey, favorite race memories, and why fundraising bibs matter to him, including St. Jude's and No Kid Hungry. From a Tower of Terror fear challenge done for charity to the little details that make race weekends unforgettable, this conversation hits both the heart and the funny bone.If you're enjoying the show, subscribe so you never miss a training-season boost, share the episode with a runDisney friend, and leave us a quick review to help more runners find the Rise and Run community.Send us Fan MailSupport the showRise and Run Podcast is supported by our audience. Humans are finally being invited into Monstropolis at Disney's Hollywood Studios! In this episode of Castle Talk Radio, Becca and Jessica explore the new Monsters, Inc.-themed land coming to Walt Disney World. Rather than simply recreating scenes from the movies, Disney is building an entire city where guests will visit as human tourists during H.U.M.A.N. Day. Jim Hill and Dan Graney sort through another packed week of Marvel news, from increasingly wild Avengers: Doomsday theories to the surprising changes coming with Avengers: Endgame Encore. They dig into rumors surrounding Spider-Man's symbiote suit, Doctor Doom, Wanda, Hawkeye, and Thanos before looking at Marvel's new Doomsday watch list and the debate over Endgame's revamped color grading. The conversation also turns to the troubling story behind Wonder Man's cancellation and an encouraging first look at Vision Quest, where Ultron, artificial intelligence, and questions of identity take center stage. HIGHLIGHTS • Avengers: Doomsday rumors include a possible symbiote suit for Tom Holland's Spider-Man and speculation over multiple versions of Doctor Doom. • A new Marvel Comics definition of "incursion" could change how fans interpret the Avengers' time heist in Endgame. • Avengers: Endgame Encore arrives September 25 with additional footage, Doomsday sneak peeks, and a noticeably more saturated color grade. • Marvel has released a 15-title Disney+ watch list designed to prepare viewers for Avengers: Doomsday. • New reporting sheds light on Wonder Man's cancellation and renews questions about Marvel's handling of several recent characters and projects. • Vision Quest showrunner Terry Matalas describes the series as a story about humanity's responsibility for the artificial intelligence it creates. • James Spader returns as Ultron, whose consciousness has apparently been trapped inside Vision's mind since Avengers: Age of Ultron. • Paul Bettany and the creative team explore Vision's identity, parenthood, and outsider status alongside Tommy Shepherd's own search for who he really is. Disney World wedding planning gets personal in this real Disney wedding story from Christina Rowe, who planned an intimate Walt Disney World wedding with her ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion, reception at the Whitehall Room & Patio, and welcome party at the Grand Floridian Marina. Christina shares how she chose her Disney wedding venues, why she changed her reception from St. Augustine Hall back to the remodeled Whitehall Room, and how she planned a beautiful celebration for just 16–18 guests. She also talks about getting ready together at the Grand Floridian, choosing photography and a content creator as major priorities, bringing her own real-touch flowers to Disney, and saving money with DIY décor. One of the highlights of the day was a visit from Marie from The Aristocats! Christina also shares details about her lavender wedding cake, custom Aristocats macarons, mimosa bar, Korean barbecue mushroom bao buns from Nomad Lounge, and the special Star Cruiser-inspired cake pops served at the welcome party. Plus, she gets candid about what went wrong—including a missing floral installation, a nearly incorrect dance floor, unexpectedly hot weather, and an important lesson about whether your wedding vendors will actually be allowed to eat the food you've counted them for. If you're planning a Disney World wedding or vow renewal, Christina's experience offers practical advice about choosing venues, budgeting, outside vendors, décor, entertainment, photography, food, and making the most of an intimate Disney wedding. Join Lou for Memory 348, recorded during a December 2021 evening in Epcot at Walt Disney World. After stepping out of The Seas with Nemo & Friends and watching a playful dolphin, we head past The Land Pavilion and into the Imagination Pavilion for a ride on Journey Into Imagination With Figment. The posted ten-minute wait becomes a little tour of the queue as we stop to look at the doors, movie props, and jokes tucked throughout the Imagination Institute. Once we're seated, the Sight lab delights the kids with its butterfly gag, and the Smell lab brings familiar laughter. Then the Sound lab creates one of the episode's most memorable moments. As a binaural podcaster, Lou loves the way carefully placed sound can make an unseen scene feel present all around us.The ride ends with Figment at home and his familiar song. Outside, the kids try to catch the leaping fountains before the water turns and runs away from them. Then we set off toward France, hoping to catch Remy after the attraction has spent most of the day unavailable. This Memory is also a fond look at the Imagination Pavilion as it is today, with recent D23 news about the pavilion and the possible return of Dreamfinder making the future especially exciting. Experience the laughter, the fountains, and the Sound lab in immersive binaural audio with headphones.

The transcripts from Jes Staley's July 24, 2026 interview with the House Oversight Committee revealed just how deep and personal his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein became, while also exposing contradictions in the way Staley had described that relationship publicly. Staley acknowledged visiting Epstein's Manhattan townhouse dozens of times, traveling to Little St. James on multiple occasions and exchanging roughly 1,200 communications with Epstein between 2008 and 2012. He admitted that he had shared confidential and potentially market-sensitive JPMorgan information with Epstein, including details about the bank's business, client relationships, pending transactions and even communications involving the Federal Reserve during the 2008 financial crisis. Staley also told investigators that he had discussed his own compensation with Epstein and sought his advice, despite previously portraying Epstein as having little or no connection to his professional life after the 2008 conviction. He further acknowledged having a sexual encounter with one of Epstein's assistants after meeting her through Epstein, while insisting that Epstein did not arrange it and that he had no knowledge that the woman had later accused Epstein of abuse. The committee also pressed Staley on some of the strangest and most troubling material in his correspondence with Epstein, including the notorious “Snow White” emails and other references to Disney characters. Staley denied having sex with a woman dressed as Snow White and said he could not explain the meaning of some of the messages, even when investigators confronted him with contemporaneous emails and photographs. He maintained that he did not know Epstein was continuing to abuse girls after his 2008 conviction, calling that revelation “incredible,” yet the transcripts also showed that Staley personally argued for JPMorgan to keep Epstein as a client even as internal concerns about Epstein's cash withdrawals and potential trafficking activity were mounting. Staley also said he had spoken with Jamie Dimon about Epstein, something Dimon and JPMorgan have disputed. Taken together, the testimony painted a picture of a relationship that was far closer, more intertwined with Staley's professional life and more difficult to reconcile with his earlier descriptions than he had previously acknowledged.to contact me:bobbycapuci@protonmail.com
