Rob shares how his perspective began to change after attending BFRO outings, where he encountered unusual evidence that included track casts, a thermal image of something apparently swaying between trees near Bunking Lake, and strange red orbs seen hovering above his vehicle.One of his most unsettling experiences came during a night at Loon Lake in Idaho's Payette National Forest.Rob and a friend noticed a faint yellow light moving low to the ground before catching a brief glimpse of what appeared to be a tall, reddish figure. Soon afterward, a powerful vocalization resembling the famous “Ohio howl” echoed through the area for hours. As the night continued, both men were left with the disturbing feeling that something was following them through the forest.The conversation also explores other reported Idaho encounters, including sightings around Loon Lake, Priest Lake, Highway 12, and the Payette River Meanders, where witnesses in 2024 reported seeing two large upright figures in broad daylight. n December of 2025, an email came into the Sasquatch Odyssey inbox from a man named Jimmy. He's in his seventies, he's fighting cancer, and he's the last living person who knows the whole story of an 80-acre piece of mountain ground in north Georgia that's been in his family since 1913.He never married and never had children, and he doesn't know who'll own the property when he's gone. So over the past ten months, in more than fifty emails, he's been telling me what happened on that land across four generations, and this is the first of ten parts. Jimmy won't come on the show, won't give his last name, and won't name the county, because he still lives on the property and still says there's activity there. I've never spoken to him. Everything you'll hear has been reorganized from his emails into a story I can narrate, with his details left exactly as he gave them. Part one begins with Jimmy's great-grandfather Will, a cotton-mill worker who bought cheap mountain land in the fall of 1913 and moved his wife and three children into a cabin the previous family had walked away from. Within weeks, food was disappearing, the dogs refused to cross the creek, and something was striking the cabin walls at night.In April of 1914, after three days of rain, Will found a line of 17-inch barefoot tracks along his creek and wrote in a store ledger that somebody was on his place. A month later he stood across that creek with a rifle sighted on the chest of the thing that had made them, and he didn't fire.What followed over the next four years, from Will's own notebook and from the stories his son Thomas told Jimmy decades later, is a cautious, dangerous, and mostly silent coexistence between one family in a cabin and another family on the mountain. There's food left on a rock above the spring and a white quartz stone that appeared in its place. Every lake in this episode was somebody's pasture once. On this stop of the Backwoods Cryptid Road Trip, Brian King-Sharp drives into Oklahoma, where the three lakes said to hide the Oklahoma Octopus were all built by the government inside living memory.Lake Tenkiller, Lake Thunderbird, and Oologah Lake are reservoirs, not natural water, and under every one of them are drowned roads, standing timber, fence lines, and the foundations of houses that were dry ground three generations ago. That's the ground this legend grew on, and it's why this is a don't-swim-after-dark episode.The stories start on the Fourth of July, 1978, with a seventeen-year-old girl floating on her back off a houseboat on Tenkiller when something wraps her leg from ankle to knee and pulls her under. From there the episode follows a bass fisherman in the drowned timber at Thunderbird who watched an arm feel its way around a dead oak, a scuba diver who cut himself loose from something in the old river channel at thirty-five feet and came up with sucker marks pressed into his wetsuit, and a farm kid on Oologah who saw two arms come over the tops of his family's flooded fence posts and pull the wire down.Between the encounters, Brian traces the real paper trail behind the legend, which is thinner and stranger than the television version. It starts with a June 2, 1982 item in the Daily Oklahoman about two boys and a dead saltwater octopus found in the Verdigris River near Lock and Dam 18 on the barge canal, runs through a 1987 article by Kiowa writer Russell Bates about a horse-sized, reddish-brown creature said to drag people into sandstone caverns, and picks up again in 2007 with two cryptid books that named the three lakes without citing a source, a reporter at the Oklahoma Gazette who found that no park manager or diver on those lakes had ever heard of the thing, and Loren Coleman's guess that it all began with a planted carcass.Then in January 2009 Animal Planet's Lost Tapes turned it into a monster with a name. Along the way the episode looks at why man-made lakes breed this kind of story, from the cold water sitting in the old channel to the drownings that happen every summer in water nobody can see into.The second half leaves the water for the timber. In Episode 597: Fort Polk Dogman, Gabriel shares his encounter with a mysterious creature while he was in the military in 2010. The encounter took place during a training mission in a remote area known as "The Box" inside Fort Polk, Louisiana. Gabriel and his sergeant were tasked with harassing a fake military base during the night, but Gabriel was left alone after his sergeant went back to retrieve a forgotten radio. As he waited alone in the woods, he described feeling a sudden eerie silence in the natural sounds, and he noticed strange occurrences, including a pulsating red light and a large, black shape behind a bush. As his fear intensified, he stood up with his machine gun, intending to fend off what he initially thought might be a bear. However, when he attempted to fire the weapon, a terrifying and powerful roar froze him in his tracks. The creature stood up on two legs and was much taller than him, with yellow, glowing eyes that felt malevolent and ancient. Gabriel felt an intense sense of evil emanating from the creature, leading him to believe it was not an ordinary animal but something far more sinister and supernatural. Fred from the SubArctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube Channel is back with two more amazing encounters from the remote Alaska wilderness—both involving terrifying close-range experiences with what witnesses describe as the legendary Hairy Man.In the first account, experienced bush pilot Randy is flying a friend's Super Cub near Wood-Tikchik State Park when worsening winds and a dropping ceiling force him to land on a remote knoll for the night. After securing the plane, strange moans and heavy breathing begin outside in the darkness. Then Randy sees a pair of large yellow-gold eyes staring through the plexiglass.Whatever is outside begins circling the aircraft, banging against it and rocking the Super Cub hard enough that Randy fears it could be tipped over. Later, the creature starts rummaging beneath the plane—until it apparently gets a nose full of cayenne and Cajun seasoning and erupts with a piercing scream before disappearing into the night. At first light, Randy gets airborne and later discovers torn material on the aircraft's tail.Fred then shares Jonathan's recent encounter between Wasilla and Willow. While hauling Costco supplies to his remote cabin after dark, Jonathan realizes something large is keeping pace with him from the trees. This week, the Backwoods Cryptid Road Trip rolls into Loveland, Ohio, a quiet river town northeast of Cincinnati with one of the strangest creature legends in America.In March 1972, Loveland police officer Ray Shockey was patrolling an icy stretch of Riverside Drive near the old Totes factory when he spotted something crouched in the road. According to his account, the creature stood upright, looked directly at him, and moved over the guardrail toward the Little Miami River. Two weeks later, fellow officer Mark Matthews reported his own encounter on the same road and fired his revolver at what he saw. Decades later, Matthews would publicly offer a very different explanation for that night. But the Loveland Frog story may go back even further. Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with two more amazing encounter stories from the Alaska wilderness—both involving strange behavior, vocal mimicry, thrown objects, and creatures that seemed to know exactly how to keep their witnesses off balance.The first account takes us to Troublesome Creek near the Susitna River, where Jenna and Mark began hearing something in the brush perfectly imitate Jenna's laugh and Mark saying, “Stop that.” Mark soon caught sight of a broad, hunched, gray-white-haired humanoid moving through the trees and repeating Jenna's giggle.Then things escalated. Jenna spotted three smaller figures racing past them. A stick came flying from the brush, prompting her to fire her handgun, and the couple made a desperate retreat across the creek. As they tried to get away, Mark was struck squarely in the chest by a precisely thrown rock. Moments later, a powerful siren-like scream rolled through the valley.Fred also shares the story of Rick, who traveled into the backcountry north of Tanana in late August to scatter his mother's ashes. What began as a deeply personal trip turned frightening when something appeared to smother his campfire, watched him from behind a tree, and began tossing pinecones into the flames.As the encounter continued, Rick became convinced that something was manipulating his route through the wilderness. In Part Two of Brian's conversation with Matt from Texas, the story moves from the highway encounter that changed his life to what happened when he began actively searching for answers.Matt takes us onto a secluded 500-acre property along a Central Texas river, where he says the activity has continued throughout 2026. He has documented unusual tracks, broken limbs, possible tree structures, repeated wood knocks, and strange vocalizations—and some of his most compelling experiences have happened when he tried interacting with whatever may be out there.On September 6, Matt heard a tree snap near the same area where he had encountered a powerful, unexplained odor months earlier. He moved toward the location while filming and says he was met with several seconds of an unmistakable growl, followed by roughly fifteen seconds of heavy breathing. He also describes experiments involving alleged Bigfoot recordings, including an “angry Bigfoot” vocalization and a strange humming sound. Playing them into the woods appeared to trigger responses ranging from wood knocks to what Matt believed were heavy, bipedal footsteps moving nearby. Those experiences have also made him question whether attempting to provoke a reaction could damage the trust he believes he has slowly developed with the creatures on the property. Matt discusses tracks of noticeably different sizes that have led him to suspect there may be an adult female and a younger individual using the area.He also recounts a May 17 sighting of a light reddish or copper-colored figure and a remarkable series of tree knocks recorded during the same outing.Then there is the evidence he discovered on his truck.On April 19, Matt found what appeared to be a large handprint on the vehicle. The reason Adam is here tonight is that he's working on a project called “Legacy of the Forest,” a cinematic horror story focused on the Dogman phenomenon.Adam's main goal with the project is to tell the stories behind the Dogman encounters so many eyewitnesses have had over the years, using the language of cinema. Adam isn't making the film only for people who already believe in the existence of Dogmen. He also wants people who don't know a thing about Dogmen to be able to watch the film and walk away with something from the experience.To get the project off the ground, though, he'll need help financing it. This week on Sasquatch Odyssey, Brian welcomes Matt from Texas for the first installment of a two-part interview about an encounter that completely changed the direction of his life.On the morning of May 20, 2019, Matt was driving an 18-wheeler loaded with fuel south on Highway 84 between Abilene and Coleman, Texas. Severe storms and tornadoes had torn through the area two days earlier, and as Matt approached the small community of Silver Valley, his attention was focused on the damage along the highway.Then he noticed what he first thought was a black bull near the road.A second look made him think it was an enormous hog. Then it stood and began walking.As Matt closed the distance, he realized he was looking at something unlike anything he had ever seen before: an enormous, jet-black, muscular figure moving upright through the bright green grass toward the tree line.Matt estimates the creature stood between seven and a half and eight feet tall, with massive shoulders, extraordinarily thick arms and legs, and a body he believes could have weighed close to a thousand pounds.For nearly a minute, Matt watched from the cab of his truck as the figure moved across the open ground. At his closest point, he estimates he was only about 50 to 75 yards away. Then it reached the woods and seemed to disappear into the darkness.But the encounter didn't end there. After delivering his load in Coleman, Matt immediately headed back toward the location. As he approached the area again, he encountered multiple sheriff's vehicles slowly driving the shoulders of the highway, appearing to search the same stretch of road where he had seen the creature. Matt has always wondered whether another motorist—or possibly a nearby road crew—had seen something that morning and called law enforcement. The experience sent Matt into a research journey that has now lasted more than seven years. He returned to the encounter site, began studying reports from across Texas, attended the Texas Bigfoot Conference, and eventually had several personal conversations with the late Dr. Jeff Meldrum, whose advice to “never stop looking” became a guiding principle in Matt's search.In Part One, Matt takes us through the sighting in remarkable detail—the creature's size, movement, muscle structure, unusual behavior, and the exact moments that transformed Bigfoot from something he barely thought about into something he says he knows is real. Fred from the SubArctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube Channel is back with two disturbing “hairy man” accounts from remote Alaska.The first takes us to the Yukon River in 1986–87, where brothers Charles and Jacob were running skiffs for a guided hunting operation.Near a remote transfer point, they spotted an enormous, unusually colored figure standing roughly 150 to 200 yards away. Covered in thick hair and far taller than any man, it suddenly stood and began moving rapidly in their direction.The brothers ran for their boats. As Charles fought to restart a flooded outboard, Jacob fired a rifle shot in an attempt to scare the figure off. Their boss quickly came over the VHF, warning them to stop discussing what they had seen where hunting clients could hear.Later, back at camp, one of those clients quietly admitted that he had seen the same figure near the transfer area.Fred also shares several shorter reports from around Ruby before turning to an even more unsettling story from the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.In 1958, a young winter caretaker named George was alone at a remote camp when his sled dogs suddenly became terrified. On this episode of Expanded Perspectives, the guys kick things off by talking about the incredible Texas comeback against Ohio State in college football before diving headfirst into another collection of bizarre and unsettling encounters.First, a witness reports a disturbing encounter with a mysterious horse-headed humanoid. Then, a group of hikers camping inside what appears to be a fairy circle discovers that some of their expensive equipment has mysteriously vanished—and they begin to wonder if the Fae Folk might have had something to do with it. Near Johnson City, Tennessee, another witness comes face-to-face with a bizarre three-horned creature, while deep in the woods of Minnesota, someone experiences a terrifying encounter with what they believe may have been a Wendigo. Later, a logger camping in the Oregon wilderness spots something near camp that looks disturbingly like a Dogman.Finally, we travel to the forests of northeastern Pennsylvania for an encounter that Evan has never been able to explain. At thirteen years old, he and three friends set out through the woods toward an abandoned quarry. Along the way, they discover a mutilated deer, a bloodstained piece of cloth, and an old rusty knife. Then Evan notices something watching them from behind a tree—a massive gray hand with long fingers and what appear to be claws.Things only get worse when the boys hear a strange, mechanical voice coming from the woods. Moments later, they see the creature itself: an enormous humanoid figure with impossibly long arms, huge claws, red eyes, canine-like teeth, and a horrifying metallic roar. The creature gives chase, pursuing the terrified boys through the forest until they finally reach the road.But that's when the encounter takes its most disturbing turn.
