Bigfoot Called Out His NameA newly trained deputy begins his first solo patrol on New Year's Day in 1980. What starts as a quiet shift turns tragic when he responds to a call about two missing children near Morgan Creek. He follows their footprints to a hole in the ice, where a rescue team later recovers their bodies—siblings, ages 11 and 9, who drowned. Twenty years later, on another snowy New Year's night, the now-veteran deputy hears a dispatch report about two wet children walking near the same bridge. Another officer searches but finds no children—only footprints that mysteriously end near an old, abandoned farmhouse that once belonged to the drowned children's family. Believing the sighting to be supernatural, the deputy concludes the caller likely encountered the ghosts of the long-lost siblings. Bigfoot - There Was No EscapeIn 1964, the narrator's grandfather and uncle, experienced campers in the Appalachian Mountains, took a risky shortcut through the eerie, lifeless Devil's Bowl to beat nightfall. 12 days ago, tonight's guest, Josh, had a Dogman encounter in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that he's still trying to come to terms with. He was hunting deer at the time and he already knew about Dogmen. The fact that he knew about them, before he had that encounter, helped him deal with the encounter, as it played out, but he didn't leave the experience unscathed. It still affected him in negative ways but that's totally normal. Luckily, he's getting better. On Episode 613, Josh walked us through the details of his encounter. Wary of one drunken member (whose rifle is confiscated), he starts the first day late due to a delayed breakfast, arriving at a remote plateau overlooking timber and waterways well after dawn. Ignoring warnings about getting lost in 40 square miles of swampy woods, he ventures north alone along a game trail, crossing a treacherous 30-foot waterway via a fallen log—only to plunge into icy, quicksand-like depths mid-crossing.He escapes using his 30/30 rifle's new sling to haul himself back onto the log, then continues, soaked but undeterred. Drying off while hiking to high ground, he spots fresh bear tracks near the crossing (possibly drawn by his splash), prompting caution. He observes snowshoe rabbits and a group of seven deer (including two bucks) from a log pile vantage, letting them pass as another hunter trails them.Pushing deeper north through dense underbrush, he finds no deer sign in the isolated terrain, which puzzles him. Tonight's episode takes us deep into the backwoods of northern Alabama, into a summer that officially never happened. In 1983, something came out of the forests around Piney Creek that permanently scarred a rural community and left behind a story still spoken only in whispers. It began with routine livestock killings that didn't stay routine for long. A prize bull was found torn apart in ways that made no sense, surrounded by tracks that seemed to shift between animal and human. Within weeks, farms across miles of countryside were hit, and the sightings followed. Locals described a towering figure that moved upright like a man, covered in thick fur, with a wolfish head and eyes that looked disturbingly human. Fear spread fast, especially after the creature was seen at a nursery window, staring in at an eighteen-month-old child.That moment sparked a hunt that would become one of the most controversial in Alabama history.Dozens of armed men flooded the woods at dawn, determined to stop whatever was stalking their families and livestock. What they discovered in an abandoned storm cellar wasn't the simple monster they expected. The creature they cornered was wounded, terrified, and shockingly aware. It spoke. It pleaded. And beneath the blood and matted fur, a silver cross hung around its neck. When the truth finally surfaced, it wasn't a beast at all, but a missing college student who had been investigating local legends and never made it home. The government arrived within hours. Evidence vanished, threats were made, and everyone involved was forced into silence. The official explanation blamed wild dogs and mass hysteria, but years later a different account emerged from someone who claimed to have seen the real file. According to that testimony, the military had been running biological enhancement experiments in underground facilities throughout rural Alabama since the early 1970s. Deep in limestone caves, they discovered a parasitic organism capable of rewriting human DNA and triggering violent, rapid transformations. A containment breach released infected subjects into the woods, and the organism kept spreading.The most horrifying detail is that victims were said to remain conscious during the change, trapped inside bodies they couldn't control, forced to witness the violence their transformed selves carried out. Even now, the abandoned farm where it ended remains sealed, the storm cellar periodically covered in fresh concrete by unknown hands. Locals still report strange howls, impossible tracks, and the kind of disappearances nobody wants to talk about too loudly. This episode pieces together a chain of witnesses who risked everything to break decades of silence, revealing a picture far darker than folklore. The suggestion is simple and terrifying: this wasn't supernatural at all, but human experimentation gone catastrophically wrong, a Cold War nightmare walking loose in the woods.As you listen, remember that officially none of this happened. No documents exist, no agency acknowledges it, and the story is buried under denial. Less than a week ago, tonight's guest, Josh, had a Dogman encounter. He was hunting deer at the time, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in a blind. To get to the blind Josh was sitting in, he had to walk down a narrow path that had heavy brush on either side of it. The area around the blind was choked with trees and brush that made visibility very poor except for the lanes that had been cut through the brush by his dad. Before Josh climbed into his blind that morning, he already knew about Dogmen. Unfortunately, it wasn't long, after he sat down, before he learned more about them. He Killed it With a HatchetIn 1932 in Short Gap, West Virginia, a grandmother placed her nearly one-year-old daughter (the narrator's mother) on a baby blanket in the yard to get some sunshine while she washed dishes at the kitchen window. The girl's grandfather was chopping wood at the nearby smokehouse when he saw an enormous black bird—described as a “Thunderbird”—casting a huge shadow as it swooped straight down toward the helpless baby. Realizing he couldn't reach her in time, he hurled his hatchet and struck the bird dead. When the family measured the carcass stretched across the smokehouse wall, its wingspan was an astonishing 16 feet 4 inches. Neighbors came from around to view the mysterious giant bird, and a photograph was taken (though it has since been lost). The narrator saw the photo as a child and heard the story many times from his mother, who is now 91. Tonight's guest, Daisy, lives on an old farm, in the U.K, that is surrounded by ancient woodlands and fields. The farm is in a very remote area. When she was growing up, Daisy would spend countless hours wandering around in the forests that surround the farm, with her siblings. Her childhood was ideal. Those forests held many secrets, however. One of the most surprising secrets is a Dogman that made its presence known to Daisy 20 years ago. Since then, she's had multiple encounters with him. When she saw him for the first time, he was pretty small. That's no longer the case, though. He's absolutely massive now.
