Tonight's guest, Ken, was born and raised in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Located along the northern edge of the Endless Mountains, Susquehanna County is home to countless forest-covered, rolling hills and the kind of terrain that would make it easy for a large cryptid to remain hidden.Late one night, in November of 2016, Ken was driving his ex-girlfriend around while she delivered newspapers on a route the two of them had been warned about. The warnings came from friends of his ex-girlfriend who had previously delivered papers on that route. They told Ken and his ex to be careful because they had seen what they described as Yetis while making deliveries.Naturally, Ken and his girlfriend didn't know what to make of those warnings. They had no reason to believe anything like that could be in the area. Their views on the existence of large, unknown cryptids changed abruptly that night, however. What they encountered didn't resemble a Yeti. In this episode, Brian welcomes Thomas Sewid of the Kwakwaka'wakw people of northern Vancouver Island for a wide-ranging conversation about Sasquatch traditions, firsthand encounters, Indigenous knowledge, and the debate over the more supernatural claims surrounding the subject.Thomas explains that Sasquatch, known by names including Ćunaq̣, Ts'uunaaka, Tl'onaq'a, Junakwa, and Chunag, holds a significant place within Kwakwaka'wakw culture. The figure appears in traditional masks, potlatch dances, crest imagery, totem poles, and generations of oral teaching. Growing up in a commercial fishing family, Thomas spent much of his life along the remote coast of British Columbia, where stories of Sasquatch were part of the cultural landscape long before the subject became popular in modern cryptozoology.He shares reports he gathered from fishermen, loggers, Indigenous communities, and people living throughout the coastal wilderness, along with several experiences of his own. These include a sighting with his father near Sayward and later encounters while Thomas was living and working deep in the bush and serving as a watchman in isolated areas.Thomas also offers his interpretation of behaviors commonly reported by Sasquatch witnesses.He believes some apparent wood knocks may actually be powerful hand slaps used as warning or communication signals and describes Sasquatch groups as operating within a coordinated clan structure that allows individuals to alert and support one another. He also discusses their ability to use terrain, cover, and wind direction to remain aware of people while avoiding detection.The conversation then turns to what Thomas openly calls the “woo” surrounding Sasquatch.He strongly rejects claims involving cloaking, portals, telepathy, and other paranormal abilities, arguing that fear, stress, and trauma can dramatically affect how people interpret unusual encounters. Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with another unsettling account from the Alaska bush, this time involving two first cousins, Jacob and Charles, who were working at a small mining operation along the Yukon River in the early 1980s.At first, the trouble looked like vandalism. Equipment around the remote camp was being tampered with, water lines were disturbed, trees had been pushed over, and at one point the mining trommel was tipped. With no obvious explanation for what was happening, Charles was assigned to keep watch from a raised platform overlooking the site. That decision only made things stranger.While standing guard, Charles began experiencing a series of close calls. The platform beneath him seemed to shift unexpectedly, an improvised outhouse nearly collapsed while he was using it, and a powerful foul odor around the camp seemed to grow worse. Along with it came the persistent feeling that something nearby was watching him from the timber. Then came the noise.After heavy thrashing erupted in the brush, Jacob came down to check on Charles. When they swept the area with a spotlight, both men caught a brief look at an enormous dark figure moving quickly away from the camp. Based on what they saw against the surrounding trees and equipment, they estimated it stood somewhere around thirteen feet tall.Whatever it was, it didn't simply disappear into the woods. As the men tried to get away and waited for help, they witnessed the scaffolding being pushed over. When the site was examined in daylight, the damage was even harder to explain. The loader appeared to have been shoved from its position, the outhouse had been destroyed, and a large boulder had somehow been forced into the trommel.That was enough for the crew. The operation was abandoned, the men quit, and Charles was taken downriver to a clinic after the ordeal.Fred walks us through the full account and the strange chain of events that left two experienced men convinced that whatever had been tearing apart that mining camp wasn't another person. Brian welcomes Craig and Paul of Penn-Ohio Cryptid Research to share the experiences that pulled them into the world of Bigfoot investigation and the strange encounters that have kept them searching. Paul's fascination began after watching The Legend of Boggy Creek in 1972, while Craig's interest was sparked by the famous Patterson-Gimlin film.What began as curiosity eventually turned into hands-on field research across Pennsylvania and Ohio.Their investigations have produced some unsettling moments. During one of their first outings on private property, Craig and Paul spotted brilliant amber eyeshine near a creek before a large rock suddenly landed between them.They took the hint and left the area. On another investigation, they discovered a series of nearly 14-inch, five-toed footprints with an unusual deformity in the left foot and an estimated 54-inch stride. The tracks were found near a massive A-frame log structure positioned along a cliff, adding another layer of mystery to the site.Craig and Paul also discuss recordings they have collected in the field, including wood knocks, whoops, whistles, and a terrifying scream that appeared to come from the hillside above them. Other incidents include red eyeshine spotted high in a tree, repeated rock throwing, twisted saplings, a freshly snapped living tree, unexplained equipment failures, foul odors, unusual lights and silhouettes captured on trail cameras, and a strange phenomenon in which portions of the surrounding landscape appeared to glow.The conversation also explores several compelling eyewitness accounts, including a daytime sighting of a tall, brownish-gray figure in Pennsylvania's Cook Forest, a hunter's story of seeing what he believed was a Bigfoot carrying a deer, and eerie photographs showing unexplained shadows and what appear to be visible eyes. Craig and Paul even describe hearing distant giggling in the woods, raising the possibility that younger or juvenile Sasquatch could have been nearby.Despite the unusual nature of their experiences, Craig and Paul stress the importance of skepticism, careful investigation, and allowing the evidence to speak for itself. Fred from the SubArctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with two chilling sibling-reported encounters from remote Alaska, and both stories escalate far beyond a simple glimpse in the woods.The first account comes from Gabe and Rhonda, lifelong berry pickers in their 60s who were gathering berries in Alaska's interior when Gabe dozed off while keeping watch for bears. He woke to something far more unsettling—a large, dark, hairy figure moving along the treeline. What began as a distant sighting quickly turned into a tense retreat as the group raced back on four-wheelers and became convinced the figure was shadowing them, circling through the surrounding woods and staying just out of clear view.Near the parking area, Rhonda fired a pistol shot as the encounter intensified. Then came one of the strangest moments of the night: from the nearby trees, something appeared to mimic a grunt Gabe had made earlier. An older relative with the group offered advice that was simple, eerie, and deeply rooted in experience—ignore it, stay calm, and “sing happy songs.”Fred's second story comes from Tatiana and Nikolai near Yakutat, where the activity was even more aggressive. It began with marble-sized rocks seemingly thrown from the woods, striking Robert and Nikolai. Soon afterward came a shrill sound, a dark figure appearing at a window, and the inexplicable disappearance of a generator. When the generator suddenly came flying back toward Nikolai, the situation took a much more dangerous turn.The encounters continued with a close sighting from the deck of a wrinkled, broad-nosed, hair-covered face staring back at them. Their dog, Roscoe, briefly disappeared. Their skiff was later found overturned. Even after leaving the property, the strange activity wasn't finished. When they eventually returned with a friend, he too was struck by a thrown rock.That was enough. In this episode of Sasquatch Odyssey, Brian welcomes Carl from Maine, whose lifelong fascination with Bigfoot took a much darker turn after he moved from Hawaii to southwest Utah in 2017. Living near Dixie National Forest and becoming involved in local church leadership brought Carl into contact with people who had their own unsettling stories, including Bigfoot researcher Jack McCarty.Carl describes being shown unusual evidence from the area, including an enormous 24-inch track with an estimated 60-inch stride that appeared to cross a barbed-wire fence before abruptly ending in the middle of a snow-covered meadow. He also recalls seeing a massive handprint pressed into damp dust, complete with what appeared to be visible fingernails.Around the same time, he overheard local ranchers quietly discussing something killing calves during drought cycles and heard a trusted acquaintance from church describe a huge figure crossing Highway 18 near Dammeron.Then Carl had an encounter of his own. At dusk, he spotted two towering beings near the roadside with faces he describes as disturbingly human yet chimp-like. What stayed with him was not only what he saw, but the overwhelming fear that followed and an intrusive thought that seemed to enter his mind: “You're not supposed to see me.”That experience forced Carl to reconsider everything he believed about Sasquatch. Fred from the SubArctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube Channel returns with two unsettling encounter reports from the Alaskan wilderness. The first story follows Jeanette and Ross as they hike a well-traveled trail leading from the highway toward the North Kenai River and Skilak Lake area. What begins with strange whispering in the woods quickly escalates into loud, unintelligible gibberish coming from somewhere nearby.Then, without warning, an explosive scream erupts from behind them with enough force to make both hikers buckle.Ross immediately reaches for bear spray, but there is nothing visible to confront. As the couple begins retreating, the activity continues. A large log appears to shift as though something has pushed it, more screams echo through the area, and Ross catches a brief glimpse of a large, dark figure near the trail with a bulky build and distinctly human-like shoulders.The encounter becomes even more disturbing when they meet another group on the trail who also heard the scream and strange vocalizations and ultimately help escort Jeanette and Ross out of the area.Fred then shares an anonymous account involving two active-duty military hunters near Alaska's Gulkana River.During their trip, the men notice what appears to be a strange fire made from spruce boughs and decide to investigate. As they approach, they encounter extremely tall figures in the darkness and begin hearing unusual deep chirping sounds.At least one of the figures is described as roughly ten feet tall, covered in black, and unlike anything the hunters expected to find in the wilderness. The situation becomes tense enough that warning shots are fired. Soon afterward, the men discover a snowmachine overturned and later pursue a remarkably fast-moving figure traveling across deep snow with apparent ease.What initially seems connected to the disappearance of their friends takes another unexpected turn when the missing men are eventually located drinking in town, leaving the hunters with even more questions about exactly what they encountered along the Gulkana River.Two remote areas. Multiple witnesses. Strange vocalizations, towering figures, and behavior that does not easily fit any familiar animal. In July of 1972, in the river town of Louisiana, Missouri, two little boys were playing in their backyard at the foot of Marzolf Hill when their older sister heard them start screaming. Fifteen-year-old Doris Harrison went to the bathroom window and saw something standing by a tree, six or seven feet tall, covered in black hair, with no face she could make out and something dead tucked under its arm. The town laughed at those kids for about a day and a half.Then a Pentecostal congregation of roughly fifty people heard something come down off that hill, and nobody in Pike County thought it was funny for the rest of the month.This is stop number twenty-five on the Backwoods Cryptid Road Trip, the halfway point, and it's the story of Momo, the Missouri Monster.We walk through the whole flap as it actually happened, from the picnic encounter on Highway 79 in 1971 to the Harrison sighting on July 11, 1972, to Edgar Harrison hanging bait on a tree behind his own house and sitting out in the dark waiting for whatever took his children's afternoon away from them. We cover the sick dog, the smell that runs through every account like a thread, the church meeting on the night of July 14, and Police Chief Shelby Ward putting two dozen armed men across Marzolf Hill three times and finding nothing at all.We get into the plaster casts, the three-toed track that a zoo director in Oklahoma City looked at and called a hoax, and the out-of-state investigators who camped in a family's backyard and left with a theory about flying objects that did more damage to this case than any skeptic ever managed. And we talk about what happens to a town when the newspapers show up, name your monster for you, and turn one bad July into a festival.The second half of the episode leaves Momo behind and gets into Missouri Sasquatch country, because strip the nickname and the novelty record off the Harrison case and what's left is an ordinary Sasquatch report. Missouri has produced roughly 147 catalogued encounters and has never stopped generating them.We cover a farmer near Bowling Green who came around a creek bend on a four-wheeler and found something squatting in the water thirty feet in front of him, the ongoing reports out of Cuivre River State Park and Bowling Green Lake, the night four young men sat in a Jeep near Smithville Lake and listened to the woods go quieter than any of them had ever heard, and the men out of southeast Missouri who put their names to what they saw in the Mark Twain National Forest country.Then we turn it over to the mail. Jenny was seven years old and bringing laundry off the line when the sheet in front of her moved the wrong way. Ray watched something cross a river road in front of his headlights and drove eleven miles out of his way for a year afterward without telling his wife why. Marla found tracks along a fence line and watched her husband go get a shovel and bury them.Dean sat in a deer stand and listened to the silence travel toward him. Colleen's three children came across the yard at a dead run, and the middle one said the thing at the tree line had no face, which is exactly what a fifteen-year-old girl told a newspaper thirty years before.And Wes put a light on something standing chest deep in the Mississippi at forty feet, and it didn't run.The kids saw it first. We're pulling off the highway on this one. The Backwoods Cryptid Road Trip runs state by state, but the reports don't arrive that way, and this episode is for the five that have been sitting in the folder waiting for a place to land. Four decades, five states, and no connection between any of them except that the people involved all ended up carrying something they couldn't put down.We start in the North Carolina mountains in the summer of 1985, where an eighteen-year-old alone in his mother's house spent three nights with a .357 in his lap. Something covered the window in his front door from top to bottom, worked the doorknob, screamed back when he threatened it, and knocked the porch off its pillars. By the third night it was breathing through his bedroom screen from less than two feet away, and it took a load of buckshot from his grandfather to end it.From there we head to West Virginia, where a young man fishing a secluded spot before sunrise heard rocks landing in the water, watched an upright canine push the foliage apart, and fired five rounds on a trail while it circled around to get ahead of him. Then a quick stop in Calvert County, Maryland, in July of 1992, where a sixteen-year-old in the back seat of his family's car locked eyes with something seven feet tall standing braced between two trees with both arms spread, and spent the next thirty years being told he made it up.The last two are Sasquatch. In the Kiamichi country of southeastern Oklahoma, a welder named Ray sat a ladder stand through rock clacking and two wood knocks before something walked across a creek bottom on two legs in gray light, and he went back the next day with flagging tape and a tape measure to find out how tall it really was.And on an Ozark river in July of 1998, two brothers running a trotline heard a two-beat wading sound coming downstream at midnight, put a spotlight on it at forty yards, and came back at daylight with their father to find a fifteen-and-three-quarter-inch track with no claw marks in it and a fifty-two-inch stride between the prints. What they poured that afternoon sat in a shed for twenty-two years. Every one of these five people paid something for telling it. Brian sits down with Doug from Washington State, a lifelong resident of Pend Oreille County in the far northeastern corner of the state, for a conversation that starts with one winter night on a county road and opens out into thirty years of reports from the same block of mountains.Doug and his wife were driving home from her job after dark, deep in the middle of winter, when something crossed in front of them in two strides. Not walking. Running, hunched forward the way a man runs when he's moving as hard as he can. Doug puts it at eight feet tall and somewhere around six or seven hundred pounds, covered head to toe in dark gray hair, moving through three and a half to four feet of snow at a speed no person on snowshoes could match. He went home and got an ax and intended to go back out after it, and his wife talked him out of it, which he now concedes was the better reasoning of the two of them.What follows is the kind of interview I like best, because Doug isn't selling anything. He was aware of the subject before it happened to him, he'd seen the Patterson-Gimlin film, and he still describes himself as somebody who simply hadn't seen it for himself yet. He talks about his great uncle Lou, a World War One veteran who worked the woods as a surveyor and spent time in the Civilian Conservation Corps camps during the Depression, and who called the thing he and his wife ran into out huckleberry picking the Skookum Man, and who got shut down by his wife Alsa before he could tell the boys any more about it.He talks about the military survival trainer who came into his family's bar and mentioned the instruction given to men training above Cusick, Washington, near Tacoma Creek, which was not to engage bipedal creatures in the woods. He talks about why he thinks these things are seen crossing roads so often when they're otherwise almost impossible to find, why he lands on a single species rather than five or six subspecies, and why he thinks the strangeness that clings to this subject may say more about our own government than it does about the animal. He also brings the Vietnam rock ape accounts he heard from his brothers and their Marine friends, and his answer to skeptics, which is that being skeptical is perfectly fine and he isn't going to beg anybody for anything.Partway through, I stop the interview and take a long detour, because Doug mentioned sightings up around Sullivan Lake and Priest Lake and I'd spent the previous few weeks going through the actual case files out of that country. What's on the record there is more substantial than most people realize A woman kayaking on Sullivan Lake in August of two thousand two who floated within fifteen yards of what she first took for a very tall old man in gray, sitting on a stump with his legs crossed and his hands folded over his knee, and who learned that evening that her niece had seen the same thing from her own boat. Two fishermen four months earlier on the south end of that same lake, run out of their tent at night by crashes, a musty smell, and a gray shape seven to nine feet tall through the mesh window.Two bear hunters northwest of Ione in September of nineteen ninety-eight who found three sets of tracks traveling together at eighteen inches, fifteen to sixteen inches, and thirteen inches, and who made a cast so poor the man freely admitted he had no idea what he was doing. A motorist outside Ione in nineteen ninety-one who stopped his car for something in the headlights and then wrote, in his own report, that he never said he saw Bigfoot, only that he saw something strange on the road and doesn't know what it was.Then the interlude crosses the state line, because the line is a survey mark and nothing more. Priest Lake sits in Bonner County, Idaho, which carries more reports than any other county in that state, and between the two lakes is the Salmo-Priest Wilderness and the Selkirk Mountains, grizzly country, some of the least broken forest left in the lower forty-eight, running unbroken north into Canada. Three backpackers woken at midnight in August of two thousand twenty by three loud bounces they later matched at daylight by throwing a four-foot log. A woodcutter east of Nordman in October of nineteen eighty who watched something slide down a five-foot embankment on its feet, walk alongside his moving pickup within arm's reach, look both ways before crossing in front of him, and reach a hand toward his hood, and who sat on that story for twenty-eight years. A fisherman on the Upper Priest River in two thousand sixteen, armed, who says he was too scared to move. Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch is back with a disturbing report of increased activity across the Kenai Peninsula before turning to a recent encounter involving Marty and her grandson, Doug, near Alaska's remote McCarthy Road.The trouble began when electrical problems forced their RV off the dirt road near an old single-lane bridge dating back to 1910. While Marty remained inside the vehicle, Doug walked toward the bridge to record the scenery with his new iPhone. The forest suddenly went completely silent. Moments later, an explosive scream tore through the valley with enough force to make Doug drop the phone into a steep ravine.Looking toward a nearby bluff, Doug spotted an enormous humanoid figure standing above the road. He estimated it was more than ten feet tall.As the figure began moving in the direction of the stranded RV, Doug rushed back to warn his grandmother.Marty had already begun hearing pebbles and larger rocks striking the outside of the camper. Overcome by an intense sense of danger, she looked outside and saw a massive dark figure near the vehicle.Fearing it was preparing to attack, she loaded a shotgun and waited inside while the impacts continued. A local family eventually arrived and confirmed that they had also seen what they believed was a Bigfoot. As they attempted to help Marty and Doug leave the area, rocks were thrown into the bed of their truck.During the escape, Marty caught another glimpse of the figure shaking trees and unleashing powerful vocalizations from the timber. Brian welcomes Mark from Michigan to share a lifetime of unsettling encounters involving Sasquatch, Dogman, and other unexplained activity. Mark's story begins around the age of ten, when his father reported seeing a tall, long-haired figure near the family farm and something began tapping on the windows at night.Years later, while deer hunting near a cornfield, Mark encountered an enormous gunmetal-gray Sasquatch accompanied by an overpowering odor of rotting meat and skunk. The woods suddenly went silent, nearby animals reacted strangely, and the experience left him with recurring nightmares that caused him to abandon the rest of the hunting season.Mark also describes discovering large X formations, teepee-like wood structures, unusual tracks, clicking sounds, unexplained lights, and a rock deliberately placed on top of a stump. During one turkey hunt, something attempted to imitate his barred owl call before a large figure appeared to peek at him from behind a tree. The encounters did not stop with Sasquatch. Mark recounts seeing a massive bipedal canine creature, finding unusual doglike tracks, observing glowing eyes near his home, and encountering an abnormally large black coyote-like animal that he could not bring himself to shoot. He also discovered several deer that had been opened and gutted without any of the meat being taken.Brian and Mark examine why witnesses often remain silent, whether these creatures are undiscovered flesh-and-blood animals or connected to something far stranger, and why an intelligent being might deliberately allow itself to be seen. Similar reports followed in Allegan County in the 1950s and in Cross Village, Big Rapids, and Manistee County during the 1960s, while Elkhorn, Wisconsin became the center of activity in the early 1990s. The segment also catalogs standalone incidents tied to the legend: four horses found dead with their eyes open in 1917, seven-foot-four claw marks reported on a church door in 1957, a farmer found dead at his plow surrounded by oversized canine tracks in 1997, a 2006 backyard sighting in Shelby Township, Michigan, and an army veteran's account of a wolf-headed creature pacing his truck through Manistee National Forest. Odawa oral tradition describing a two-legged, wolf-like being near Lake Michigan predates all of it, and the episode raises the theory that Dogman sightings cluster in years ending in seven.From there, the episode turns to the case that gave the cryptid one of its best-known names: the Beast of Bray Road. Lori Endrizzi's fall 1989 sighting on Bray Road outside Elkhorn, Wisconsin, first documented by researcher Linda Godfrey in the 2003 book "The Beast of Bray Road," describes a kneeling, brownish-gray figure with long claws that turned to meet her headlights. Two years later, on Halloween night 1991, Doris Gipson struck the same stretch of road and was chased by a clawed, upright creature that clung to her car's rear bumper as she fled. Walworth County Animal Control officer Jon Fredrikson began compiling reports in a manila folder marked "Werewolf," which grew to include a December 1990 sighting by a child witness, clawed tracks near Potter's Road that led locals to nickname the creature "Pottsy," a 1990 roadside sighting by Mike Etten, and two separate encounters reported by high school student Tom Brichta. The same story traces the legend back further still, to 1936, when night watchman Mark Shackleman encountered a six-foot, black-furred creature scratching at an Indigenous burial ground outside Racine, Wisconsin's St. Coletta Convent, a creature that reportedly spoke a single word, "Gadarah," a name tied to the biblical account of Jesus casting out demons at Gadara.Next, the episode moves to a February 2012 case from rural Chenango, New York, where Brandon Close and his neighbor Gene pursued the source of a scream that had left Close's cattle huddled against an electric fence, only to be chased through the woods by an eight-foot creature that kept pace with their all-terrain vehicle at highway speed. The account continues with an unmarked black van and armed personnel arriving at Close's property the following day, ultimately removing the memory cards from his trail cameras.A separate account follows a Big Rapids, Michigan night watchman's 1961 encounter with a six-foot, grayish-brown creature outside his home near the Haymarsh State Game Area, an incident the witness says he photographed under a streetlight.The episode then recounts an anonymous 1992 camping trip in which the witness watched a black, long-armed creature stalk him along a dry creek bed before a Sasquatch intervened, leading to a violent fight that ended when a second, larger Sasquatch killed the Dogman and dragged its body into the woods.Hunting-season encounters follow, beginning with Peter's October 16, 2012 experience in Pontiac, Illinois, where a wolf-sized creature bit his arm during a chase near his family's deer stand before inexplicably retreating. A separate witness describes two Dogman sightings twenty years apart, the first in Alto, Michigan in 1988 and the second in nearby Lowell, Michigan in 2008, when a blue-eyed creature that had followed him since childhood appeared on his roof and spoke a single word, "Don't."Another segment follows Derek, an Ohio mycology enthusiast, to a 2016 night-fishing trip along the Mahoning River in Niles, Trumbull County, Ohio, where he encountered a crouching creature near an old train trestle that stood to meet his gaze before retreating into the brush.A Fitchburg, Wisconsin case follows college student Matt, who in 2006 heard a scream during a minor earthquake and glimpsed a wolf-headed, humanoid figure in a passing car's headlights. A separate story follows a man identified as Mark to his late grandfather's cabin in Sierra County, Ohio, where he discovered why his grandfather had banned the family from the property for years, after an unseen creature chased him back to the cabin and reappeared at the tree line with two others.A Reed City, Michigan hunting party's four-day encounter in November 2007 follows, in which Sam and his companions repeatedly crossed paths with a yellow-eyed, hunchbacked creature that left claw marks on a rifle stock and a cabin door. The episode then follows Gabe to a rural Montana property, where lightning revealed a broad-shouldered, upright creature in his yard, followed weeks later by a closer encounter near his satellite dish that prompted him to move.Retired law enforcement officer Laura Love's account follows, describing a nearly seven-and-a-half-foot, dark-furred creature that struck a truck near the West Weber Road overpass on U.S. Highway 31 before vanishing into roadside brush. Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with three unsettling reports from remote Alaska. The first two occurred independently on the Fourth of July along the same long stretch of road on the Kenai Peninsula near Soldotna.Traveling from opposite directions, Leslie and Rusty each reported seeing a large figure step into the roadway. Rusty, who was towing a trailer, claimed he watched the figure strike a spruce grouse onto the pavement, retrieve the bird, glance toward the approaching traffic, and disappear into the timber.Fred then shares a far more aggressive encounter from the winter of 1987. John Sr. and John Jr. were traveling by snowmachine to a relative's isolated cabin near the Mulchatna caribou herd when they noticed a massive, humanlike figure covered in hair. The creature reportedly threw objects, watched the hunters through a cabin window, damaged the generator shed, and destroyed an exterior light. After darkness fell, something began pounding against the cabin walls.At first light, the two men abandoned the cabin and headed for home.The figure allegedly followed them near the trail, forcing the hunters to fire warning shots as they escaped across the snow.
