Rushion McDonald uses Kurt’s career as a blueprint for: Building mailbox money through residuals Staying relevant across decades of industry change Monetizing intellectual property Leveraging relationships to sustain opportunity Core Themes Discussed Longevity vs. “getting on” Behind-the-scenes success Residual income (“mailbox money”) Adaptability in changing industries Creative originality Relationship capital Diversifying income through ownership Treating art like a business Key Takeaways 1. Staying In Is Harder Than Getting In While many focus on breaking into the industry, Kurt emphasizes that lasting success requires constant reinvention. “The continuing it for the 30-plus years has been way harder than the getting in in the first.” Insight: Longevity requires discipline, humility, and evolution. 2. Behind-the-Scenes Roles Can Be More Sustainable Kurt chose composing over performing, allowing him to age into his career rather than age out of it. “In television and film… all I’ve got to say is John Williams is in his 90s and still composing.” Insight: Choose lanes that allow long-term relevance and recurring income. 3. Residual Income Is Real Wealth Rushion and Kurt discuss “mailbox money”—recurring payments from past work. “If you just had the mailbox money for King of Queens, you’d be fine.” Insight: True financial freedom comes from owning work that keeps paying. 4. Adaptability Is Non‑Negotiable Kurt has survived massive industry shifts—from analog tape to digital production—by embracing change. “Sustain that good idea, change it, polish it up, and mold it for the changing times.” Insight: Talent without adaptability becomes obsolete. 5. Originality Comes From Listening, Not Forcing a Style Kurt avoids creative stagnation by serving the story, not his ego. “I don’t come in every day trying to force the singular style I’ve done for 38 years.” Insight: Longevity depends on collaboration and humility. 6. What does it take to build a $100M company from scratch? That's what I wanted to find out when I sat down with Gannon Meyer. He's figured out how to turn social media attention into actual revenue. My guest today, Gannon, went from living with his girlfriend's mom to building a thriving business in just 12 months, and he credits a huge part of that transformation to what he shares in our conversation. We dive deep into his "free, segment, upsell" framework for converting Instagram followers into paying customers, and I even get a direct critique of my own content strategy. EPISODE 33: A Masterclass In How To Die | Johno Verity Dying Laughing with Jessimae What if the secret to living well is learning how to die well? This week on Dying Laughing, Jessimae sits down with filmmaker, BMX rider, and accidental internet philosopher Johno Verity. Known for his cinematic videos of riding through the quiet streets of London before the rest of the world wakes up, Johno has built a devoted following by reminding people of something simple: put down your phone and go live your life. Together, they discuss the pursuit of baseline happiness, the importance of brain health, creativity, movement, and why so many of us have forgotten how to be present. Johno also opens up about losing both his stepfather and father, and the unexpected lessons grief has taught him about purpose, perspective, and what really matters. This is a conversation about mortality, mental health, adventure, and finding joy in the ordinary moments we're usually too distracted to notice. Because sometimes the best masterclass in how to live... comes from understanding how to die.
In this lesson from the Gate of Repentance (Shaar HaTeshuvah), Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe explores the 12th, 13th, and 14th components of authentic teshuvah: understanding the consequences of sin, treating even seemingly small transgressions seriously, and the essential role of confession (vidui). The author teaches that part of sincere repentance is recognizing that actions have consequences. Not because Hashem seeks to punish, but because every sin creates distance between a person and their Creator. Understanding the spiritual cost of our choices helps awaken a deeper commitment to growth and a greater appreciation for the relationship Hashem desires to have with each of us. A central theme of the episode is the danger of minimizing "small" sins. Rabbi Wolbe explains that we often convince ourselves that certain behaviors are insignificant, yet the Torah warns us not to measure mitzvos and prohibitions according to our own standards. First, every commandment is significant because it comes from Hashem. Second, small actions accumulate over time. Third, repeated sins become normalized until they no longer feel wrong. Finally, the Yetzer Hara often begins with tiny compromises that eventually lead to far more serious transgressions. What appears insignificant today can become spiritually destructive tomorrow. The lesson concludes with the power of vidui—verbal confession. Rabbi Wolbe explains that repentance is not complete until a person articulates their mistakes before Hashem and commits to change. Confession is not merely an admission of guilt; it is an act of spiritual purification. Using the Talmud's famous analogy, he teaches that confessing without abandoning the sin is like immersing in a mikvah while still holding a source of impurity. True teshuvah requires both honest acknowledgment of the past and a sincere commitment to a different future. _____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on October 27, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on June 24, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Join Elevated GP by visiting THEELEVATEDGP.COM In Part 2 of his conversation with Dr. Melissa Seibert, periodontist Dr. David Wong unpacks why patients actually decline treatment — and it's rarely the money or the dentistry. It's the connection you failed to build. He walks through the soft-skill work that's defined his career: reading where a patient sits on the decision-making scale, designing a separate consultation room so he can sit beside patients instead of across from them, and disarming fight-or-flight by finding common ground fast. He also shares one of the most underrated networking moves in dentistry — joining your local Chamber of Commerce — and how it helped him launch a practice from scratch. The second half pivots to the clinical: ridge preservation as a high-ROI skill for general dentists, how to think about bone graft material selection without getting overwhelmed by terminology, membrane selection for beginners through advanced users, and the specific brands David reaches for day to day. About the Guest Dr. David Wong is a board-certified periodontist and Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists — the only periodontist in Oklahoma to hold that distinction. He completed his periodontal training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City as chief resident, earned advanced implant and oral plastic surgery credentials from Temple University and the Misch International Implant Institute, and has published in the field of oral plastic surgery. Beyond his clinical work, he has spent his career studying the art of case presentation and patient communication. When patients say "I'll go home and think about it," dentists default to "they don't value the dentistry" or "they can't afford it." David's argument: the most common reason is that you didn't build trust or form a connection. People will spend $20,000 on a European vacation but not on asymptomatic dental work — that's a comparison about trust and felt need, not budget. Connection is a long game, not a five-minute pitch. New dentists try to close trust in a single appointment. David's reframe: you'll see this patient over years. Foster the relationship as long as it takes, and they will do the treatment — maybe not all at once, but eventually. The "I'm the doctor, you're the patient" model breaks in fee-for-service. Patients in a fee-for-service practice are decision-makers, not compliant subjects. You have to meet them as one. Design the room around the conversation. For any case over roughly $1,500, David moves the patient to a dedicated consultation room and sits side-by-side at a table — not across the operatory chair. He pays attention to where he's seated relative to the patient and the door. He has even recorded his own case presentations on camera and had them coached. The Chamber of Commerce is one of the most underused networking moves in dentistry. Every city has one. Dues are minimal or free. You get a room full of local entrepreneurs — publishers, contractors, surgeons, service providers — solving the same problems you are, just in different industries. When David launched his practice from scratch, the Chamber funded part of his open house, ran his ribbon-cutting, and brought a crowd. Get your CE ROI right. Start with skills that pay dividends immediately — molar endo, ridge preservation/socket grafting. They have low downside (a missed socket graft is no worse than not grafting at all), short learning curves, and you'll actually use them weekly. "Sexy" CE without immediate clinical application sits unused. Keep ridge preservation simple. Don't get lost in the 70/30 vs. 50/50 mineralized/demineralized debate. David teaches just two categories: mineralized cortical bone, or mineralized cortical-cancellous bone. That's it. For membranes, beginners should default to a long-lasting resorbable collagen membrane. The fancier options (cross-linked, titanium-reinforced, amnion-chorion, PTFE) are handling-skill problems before they're outcome problems. Case presentation isn't about "salesy words." It's about reading non-verbal cues, responding appropriately, and conducting the conversation — not delivering the right script. Notable Quotes "It's not necessarily just because they don't want it. It's not necessarily just because of financial constraints. It's because we didn't build the trust. We didn't form that connection." "You're going to see this patient more than one time. For our very first guest on the The Live Like a Girl podcast, I sat down with the woman who taught generations of us how to take back our financial power: Suze Orman. Here's why I had to start here. I spend my life helping women with hormones, weight loss, menopause, and underneath almost all of it sits one thing – cortisol. And when you scratch beneath the “cortisol surface,” so often what you find is money stress. So I brought in the icon herself to talk about what's really keeping women sick and stuck, and what to do about it.We get into self-worth and net worth, why women hand over their financial power, the spender-to-saver shift, divorce and the sandwich generation, the truth about your home and your car, what AI is about to do to all of us, and the money moves that matter most in 2026. Suze also shares her origin story – from waitress to financial icon and I know it will light a fire in you. This one is a masterclass. So bring a notebook and get ready. If you're wanting the deeper dive on exactly how to invest now, we're giving you a special offer of Suze's Masterclass: suzeorman.com/drmindyFor more resources related to today's episode, visit the podcast episode page: https://www.drmindypelz.com/ep345/ More on Suze Orman:Website: suzeorman.comInstagram: @therealsuzeormanYouTube: @suzeormanFacebook: Suze OrmanLinkedIn: Suze OrmanConnect with Dr. Mindy:Join Reset AcademyWatch the episodes on YouTubeFollow Dr. Mindy on InstagramSubscribe to Dr. Mindy's newsletter for tools and research on fasting, hormones, and metabolic healthDisclaimer: This podcast is intended for educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Links, cheatsheet, private group and more: https://hunterwilliamshealth.com/linksBPC-157 is the peptide almost everyone starts with. In this masterclass I walk through why, and where the hype gets ahead of the evidence. We have about 30 years of animal studies on this one. We have fewer than 30 human subjects in published research. I keep that line clear the whole way through.I cover what BPC actually does. It helps the body repair tissue. It works on the gut, tendons, ligaments, and even the brain in animal models. It is not a steroid and it does not build muscle on its own. I explain how it works, who it helps, and who should skip it.Then we get practical. Dosing tiers, how to reconstitute the vial, how to inject near an injury, and how long before you feel anything.I tackle the cancer question head on. The fear is plausible on paper. The data does not really back it up. I tell you exactly where I land.We also cover cycling, the Wolverine stack with TB-500, oral versus injectable, and the FDA shift happening right now.Even if you already know this one, you will probably pick up something. If you are new to peptides, start here.
Most recruiters think AI is coming for their job. Allie Milbrath thinks it's coming for one kind of recruiter — the one whose value was sending LinkedIn messages faster than the person next to them. If that was ever the whole game, she says you should be worried. If it wasn't, this episode is the way out. This is Part 1 of a two-part retained search masterclass. Allie Milbrath of the Quinn Roberts Company returns to The Elite Recruiter Podcast to walk through the shift she believes our industry needs most: moving from contingent to retained, and from transactional order-taker to trusted advisor. She has built her career entirely in retained search, and not by being the most aggressive salesperson in the room. She won it by delivering so well that clients simply stopped shopping. That distinction is the spine of this conversation. The part that will stay with you is what Allie calls "emotional exits." Contingent recruiting, she argues, quietly trains you to bail. When a search gets hard, you have fifteen others on your desk to retreat to. When a client is difficult, you move on. When the market turns, you move on again. Over time it compounds, and you lose the ability to operate from any real depth. Retained takes the exit away. It forces you to stay in the discomfort long enough to actually solve the problem — and that, more than any script or pricing model, is the real mindset shift she thinks recruiters are afraid of. They are not afraid of the work. They are afraid of commitment. Benjamin and Allie also get honest about who retained is not for, why "the fear holding you back" and "a market that genuinely can't bear retained" are two different things, and how AI is quietly closing the escape hatch on transactional recruiting. Then they move into the mechanics — fee structures, guarantees, fall-off and cancellation terms, off-limits clauses, and the protective language Allie now writes into every agreement after learning the hard way. Part 1 ends mid-mechanics. Part 2 drops tomorrow and finishes the masterclass: pipelining projects, the real math on how many searches one recruiter can carry, and why she believes great delivery is your best business development. If you take one thing from this episode, let it be the question Benjamin opens with. As AI gets better, you have to figure out why clients will still pay you. What part of your process actually adds value? You don't have to go fully retained to answer that. But you do have to answer it. What You'll Learn: Why panicking about AI is the wrong response, and the harder question to ask yourself instead What "emotional exits" are, and how contingent work quietly trains you to bail Why clients return again and again to an advisor, not an attack dog How to tell the difference between fear that's holding you back and a market that can't support retained Who retained search is genuinely not the right fit for The contract terms that actually protect you: guarantees, fall-off, cancellation, and off-limits language This episode is brought to you by Atlas, the AI-first recruitment platform built to eliminate admin. Atlas captures every candidate conversation automatically and turns it into something you can use, so the details that usually get buried in notes are searchable in seconds. Jesus teaches us to call God, “Father.” This was unheard of back in that time with Jewish and secular culture. The word Jesus uses is “Abba,” which is translated as “Daddy.” Our God is the perfect Father. He provides, protects, teaches, guides and will always love you. As His child, our desire becomes to live for His approval and to know that He is always with us. When we know God like this, we have a boldness, confidence and trust that changes our lives forever.

So your breakout strategy keeps failing. What can you do to overcome that? If you trade breakouts or you've considered trading breakouts, this video is exactly what you need to hear. Let's get into it. Traders, it's Andrew Mitchem here at The Forex Trading Coach with video and podcast number 638. Trader has a failed breakout strategy. Just this week I've received an email from a trader who said, “Andrew, I need some help with breakouts. My breakout strategy is not working. It keeps failing. I keep losing money. What can you suggest?” Well, first of all, let's understand what a breakout strategy is. For most people, it means that you're buying at the high of a candle or a range, and you're selling at the low of a candle or range. So that could mean you look at every 4 hours and you take a buy stop, let's say, to buy above the high of that 4-hour range. Or you may be taking like the first 10 hours of the day or taking the European session and trading a breakout of that, whatever it is you do. There are all sorts of styles of breakout, but effectively it means you're buying high and you're selling low. So you're either sitting there waiting for that price to break out of that range and you're taking a market order, or probably the more sensible way of doing it is to put a buy stop and sell stop in, which means that when the price breaks high or low, the market automatically gets you filled into the market. False breakouts and low reward:risk trades. But the trouble is, it doesn't generally give you a particularly good reward-to-risk. And you'll find so many times you'll get false breakouts. The market will move up, get your buy stop in and move up a bit, and then fall back down again. You get stopped out and it just keeps happening. So for me, I don't actually like breakout strategies. I don't think they are a particularly good way of trading. It's just basically here's a range and if it goes higher than that, we're taking buys. If it goes lower, we're taking sells. It doesn't have a huge amount of other technical qualities about it. And as I mentioned, it certainly doesn't, in most cases, give you a particularly good reward-to-risk. So therefore, for me, it's not something I really am interested in doing. So a better way of answering the question might be to say what else can you do instead? I use limit orders and not stop orders. Now, for the last 20-plus years, I have used limit orders and it's something that if you don't use them, I suggest you go and have a look and consider using them. So a limit order, a buy limit or a sell limit, means to buy below the current price, and a sell limit is to sell above the current price. And already, if you think about it, to buy below the current price means that if the market should pull back down, get me filled, and then move up in my direction, I'm already massively in reward-to-risk favor. And if you imagine you've got a buy stop and I've got a buy limit in, the market moves down, gets me filled, by the time it then turns around and goes back up to your buy stop area, I'm probably already with my strategy in at least a 1-to-1 reward-to-risk trade, if not more, and you're just getting filled on the trade. And so the likelihood of me making profit on a buy limit order is so much more than you taking profit, and good profit and good reward-to-risk, with your buy stop order. So I would consider limit orders. The markets always move up and down and retrace. So in most cases buy limit orders get filled very often and you just find that they work beautifully once you know what you're doing. Now let's say that the market does not pull back and you do not get filled on your buy limit order. Well, that doesn't really matter, because all it means is that you miss out on the trade. That's absolutely fine. You know, that happens from time to time. So have a look for buy limit orders and sell limit orders. Your reward-to-risk will improve massively. View our new 15 minute Masterclass. In other news, I have made a new short 15-minute-long masterclass this week. It's now available on our website. It's on demand so you can go and watch it whenever you like. I'll put a link to that. I highly recommend you spend 15 minutes, go and watch that and you'll learn so much about trading on that session. Blueberry Markets as a Forex Broker. And if you're out there looking for a very high-quality forex broker, one I've personally used for many years, it's Blueberry Markets. I find them just really good to deal with, very responsive and if you need help with anything, very quick to withdraw funds and a huge array of markets that you can trade through them, both forex and non-forex, especially on their MT5 platform. If you're out there looking for a good broker, just consider Blueberry Markets. I don't think you'll be disappointed. And yeah, I'll put a link to them as mentioned. Real people, community and communication. So if you have any trading topics or questions, just like this email that came in about the breakouts, let me know and I can answer them for you on future videos and podcasts just like this one. So once again, this is Andrew Mitchem here. Enjoy your trading. Potentially use your limit orders. I think you'll find them a lot more beneficial than your stop orders. Bye for now. We get into miasmatic clearing, why your dreams change on a remedy, what's actually happening when a kid breaks out in a head-to-toe rash and then loses an autism diagnosis, and why the symptoms you've been taught to fear are the body doing exactly what it was designed to do.We also talk about why so many people in the wellness space are exhausted, why self-sufficiency is a lie, and what it would take to build a system worth living inside of.You'll Learn:[0:00] Introduction[7:47] An impromptu late-night dose of lycopodium triggered explosive road rage in Crystal's husband by morning[21:59] Blowing up onto the skin is healing, not suppression[36:26] German new medicine and homeopathy resolved a five-year-old's coagulated blood vomiting[53:56] The Fibonacci homaccord gets results other potencies miss[1:50:31] The remedy that ended 25 years of debilitating anxiety after ayahuasca[2:00:34] Thuja and MMR detox confirmed and reversed an eight-year-old's vaccine injury[2:11:18] The student case that resolved 25 years of chronic constipation in days[2:38:07] Becoming a homeopath might be the most meaningful career move you'll ever make Related The Way Forward Episodes:Ep 158: Homeopathy's Hidden History: Miasms, Water Memory & Homeopathic Hospitals with Melissa Kupsch | PodcastResources Mentioned:30 days of free access to Welcome to the Revolution: Ignite the change. If you're doing all the right things and still feel tired, wired at night, and stuck with weight that won't budge around your middle, this episode is for you. Most women think cortisol is just about stress. And friend, that is not the whole story. You can be managing your schedule, saying no when you need to, keeping your life under control, and your cortisol can still be running high all day long without you ever feeling stressed. I lived in that exact state for years and had no idea. I just thought the exhaustion, the belly weight, the brain fog, and the three a.m. wake-ups were my normal. They weren't. That was cortisol, and nobody warned me it was happening. In this episode, I'm walking you through what cortisol actually is, why it's not the villain it gets made out to be, and the five things that are really keeping it elevated. Most of them have nothing to do with feeling stressed. We'll talk about why chronic dieting quietly traps you in a loop that makes everything worse, what perimenopause does to your built-in calming hormone, and the real priority order for bringing your cortisol back down so your body can finally let go of what it's been holding onto.Whether you've been dieting for years, you're navigating perimenopause, or you're just tired of trying harder and getting nowhere, you deserve the whole picture. Your body is not broken. It's communicating.

Dating advice is everywhere, but not all of it leads to the kind of relationship people say they want. In this episode, we explore the difference between performing attraction and building genuine connection. We talk about why so much modern dating advice encourages people to create tension, mystery, or emotional distance, and why those strategies often attract the very dynamics they're hoping to avoid. We also unpack the role of congruence, steadiness, and emotional safety in creating meaningful relationships, and why being yourself consistently is far more attractive than trying to say or do all the "right" things. In this episode, we discuss:Why performative dating advice can undermine genuine intimacyThe difference between attraction, emotional volatility, and real connectionWhat congruence looks like and why women instinctively respond to itHow steadiness, reliability, and consistency build trust in early datingWhy healthy relationships create freedom, growth, and deeper self-expression Want to work with Bri and/or Courtney?Connect with Bri on Instagram: @buildingbricoachingConnect with Courtney on Instagram: @courtney_schandFollow the show on Instagram: @thefortheloveofmenpodcastCheck out our website: www.fortheloveofmenpodcast.comLooking for deeper support?Check out our Masterclasses:1️⃣ What Your Woman Wants Emotionally And How to Provide It: Unlock the secrets to fulfilling your partner emotionally! Want to know how to save money by decluttering your home? The connection between clutter and finances is real, and your messy house is draining your bank account. Today, I'm breaking down why overspending and clutter go hand-in-hand, plus giving you four challenges to stop the cycle right now. Okay, real talk. When I finally got my clutter under control, I'm not being dramatic here, the financial shift was insane. And for the longest time, I didn't understand why decluttering my home also fixed my money problems. But now I get it, and I'm sharing all of it with you. This episode is different, friends. We're not just tidying up—we're tackling the uncomfortable stuff. The scarcity mindset that makes you panic-buy things "just in case." The emotional spending that leads to more clutter, which leads to more shame, which leads you right back to the store. And yeah, I'm gonna say the thing that might make you uncomfortable: if you have too much clutter in your home, you have an overconsumption problem. You're buying too much. Sorry, not sorry. Here's what we're covering: Why my messy house was keeping me broke (and how yours might be too) The "spending to save" trap that retailers use to exploit your fear How disorganization costs you money in duplicates, late fees, and wasted purchases Why the more clothes you have, the less you have to wear (it's bonkers but it's true) But here's the best part: we're body-doubling today, and I'm giving you FOUR challenges to do while you listen. Because here's the truth: clutter isn't just stuff. It's wasted money, wasted time, and wasted mental energy. And when you finally deal with it? You get all of that back. Let's break the wheel together, Clutterbugs. Your future self (and your bank account) will thank you. Want to get organized?
