In this episode of Technically Speaking: AI Builders, I sit down with Filip Skrzesinski, co-founder of Subframe, the UI design tool built for the AI era.Subframe isn't just another no-code platform or AI playground. It's a visual way to build production-ready software, allowing designers and non-technical teammates to collaborate directly with engineers using code-native components, real-time prototyping, and AI-assisted workflows. Filip calls it “design with code.”We unpack what it really means to bridge the gap between design and development, the philosophical shift away from static mockups, and how Subframe puts creative control back into the hands of full product teams. We also get into:* Why designers should think more like engineers (and vice versa)* How AI becomes a co-creator, not a replacement* What makes a good design system “trainable” for AI* Why stress-testing components in Subframe feels like building your own mini design tool* What it looks like when prototyping and production mergeIf you're a designer, builder, or curious product leader navigating the messy middle of AI and UI, this episode offers practical insights, creative inspiration, and a glimpse into the future of design tools.Learn more at subframe.comTimestamps00:00 Filip Skrzesinski x Harrison Wheeler: AI Product Builders Series00:25 Introduction02:56 Where Subframe sits in the product development process06:02 The origin story10:39 The ideal customer profile21:13 What makes Subframe stand out?27:11 Where a designers job starts30:15 Examples of how people are using the platform34:51 How to get started within minutes37:26 How organizations can embrace40:18 Closing and whats nextMentions* Subframe.com — Official website* Filip Skrzesinski on LinkedInFollow Harrison Wheeler and Technically Speaking* Newsletter* LinkedIn* YouTubeTechnically Speaking is where I share reflections, insights, and conversations to help you lead with confidence, clarity, and community. This podcast is a part of a collection of podcasts recorded at ISC West 2025 and previously shared on social media. “We don't look for faces—we look for behaviors.” — Corbin Uselton, Koshee Security, speaking with Doug Green at ISC West 2025 At ISC West 2025, Technology Reseller News publisher Doug Green met with Corbin Uselton of Koshee Security to explore how the company is using AI to elevate surveillance while respecting privacy. Koshee's flagship product, Koshee Protect, uses on-site AI detection to monitor security camera feeds in real time—identifying suspicious behaviors such as theft, weapon detection, perimeter breaches, and more. “We're not doing facial recognition,” Uselton emphasized. “We're focused on behaviors—jumping a fence, concealing an item, or pulling a weapon—not identities.” The system is designed for a range of customers, from small retailers and gas stations to global logistics companies. It works by processing video locally, maintaining privacy compliance while sending immediate alerts with image frames when predefined threats or behaviors are detected. The platform is highly configurable, allowing users to set different detection parameters by camera, location, and time of day. Koshee also provides role-based alerts, enabling specific employees to receive notifications depending on the context—such as detecting weapons in restricted zones or after-hours movement on remote sites. With integration options for both direct customers and channel partners (like MDI), Koshee is enabling smarter, more responsive security without compromising data ethics. The "last minute" of last night's '60 Minutes' was worth the wait, as CBS News' Scott Pelley laid waste to his network's parent company's adding 'extra supervision' to the news magazine's content. I mean, it's not all that different from what I had to deal with as editor of my high school newspaper - except that it's already established that school students don't enjoy "freedom of the press" in their schools. Oh, and '60 Minutes' has been on the air nearly six decades, racking up an unmatched number of awards in journalism. While American broadcast and print media continues to cave to Donald Trump, international journalists are marveling at the destruction of the fifth estate. ------Meanwhile, in the aftermath of Senator Jon Ossoff's Marietta town hall last Friday, I caught up with many of the CDC's fired and/or 'RIF'ed workforce - the "Fired but Fighting" collection of people still deeply concerned about the state of their work and its use in disease prevention. To summarize, they came to get Team Ossoff to do better in matching the work done by Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock and his staff, but are encouraged Ossoff and his staff are now better aware they need to step up. ------New York Times' conservative columnist Bret Stephens appeared on last week's 'Real Time with Bill Maher' panel, opining that Democrats shouldn't be drawn in by the tens of thousands of people turning out to hear Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Imagine that - a conservative trying to keep the party he almost never sees eye-to-eye with from finding its populist base and succeeding. Naturally, he's wrong, and I'm here ot remind everyone why making the same istakes the party made in 2016 will fail the party and the nation on the whole.

Saturday Morning was quite a morning amidst the funeral of Pope Francis. Michael offers a play-by-play of how his show still went on-air on CNN, where he offered a commentary completely unrelated to what was happening in the news that morning, on "Festivus" and the spat between Bill Maher and Larry David, the former having recently met with President Trump, and the latter comparing it to sharing a meal with a modern day Hitler. Here, Michael gives you the full back story on what happened. Original air date 28 April 2025.

G.T. LaBorde, CEO and Co-Founder of IllumiCare, focuses on reducing hospital clinical waste. Doctors often make decisions about tests, medications, and procedures without knowing the actual cost to the hospital and the patient. The IllumiCare platform aims to nudge doctors to make cost-effective decisions without compromising the quality of patient care by providing cost information and clinical guidance at the point of care. Another benefit is the reduction in overtesting and overprescribing, supporting efforts to improve patient safety.. G.T. explains, "When doctors make decisions about what test to order and what medications to prescribe, particularly in the inpatient setting, they have no idea what the cost is. They don't know the relative cost of one drug or another, and it's not a knock on doctors. It's very difficult to know because there are, in our average hospital across hundreds of hospitals, something like 2,000 different medications on the formulary that are available to order if you're a provider." "We self-impose a limit, on average, taking only 60 seconds of a provider's attention a day. We calculate when we nudge somebody, when we present something in their workflow, how much time is it on the screen? And it comes down to 60 seconds a day of attention that we take. So we take great pride in how much technology we use to figure out when not to say something or not. We try to figure out the person most likely to take action, and is this information germane to this person for this patient, such that there's a high probability they'll take action? And we measure how frequently people take the action we recommend, and it's several times higher than similar alerts within the electronic medical record." #IllumiCare #ValueBasedCare #VBC #HealthcareInnovation #ClinicalDecisionSupport #HealthIT #HospitalIT #EHR illumicare.com Download the transcript here

And we measure how frequently people take the action we recommend, and it's several times higher than similar alerts within the electronic medical record." #IllumiCare #ValueBasedCare #VBC #HealthcareInnovation #ClinicalDecisionSupport #HealthIT #HospitalIT #EHR illumicare.com Listen to the podcast here
There's a civil war happening inside the MAGA coalition, and unless you're really in the weeds, you probably haven't heard much about it. It's not being covered seriously, either by the traditional media or the independent press. And that's a shame — because it pits two foundational visions of conservatism against each other. On one side, you have Grover Norquist and his ironclad “no new taxes” pledge. On the other, you have Steve Bannon and his populist charge to eat the rich.Norquist has spent decades making sure no Republican dares raise taxes. His philosophy is clear: low taxes are good for everyone, rich or poor, and raising them is political suicide. He's survived every GOP iteration — from neocon war hawks to MAGA populists — by keeping that line firm. But now, Trump's “one big, beautiful bill” may include a tax hike on the wealthy. Norquist is sounding the alarm, warning that breaking this promise would be as foolish as George H.W. Bush's infamous “read my lips” moment.Meanwhile, Bannon doesn't just want to raise taxes — he wants to send a message. He sees MAGA as a working-class movement, and taxing the rich is part of proving that Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and the GOP's old donor class no longer control the party. It's the clearest philosophical fault line we've seen on the right in years. If the GOP embraces even a modest tax hike on the wealthy, it could mark the end of a Reagan-era consensus that has defined Republican politics for half a century.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. And yet, barely anyone is talking about it. Not because it isn't interesting, not because it isn't important, but because media — mainstream and independent — is stuck on one setting: “trouble for Trump.” It's a framing device. Every Trump story must either confirm that he's a danger to democracy or a bumbling fool. Anything else? Not interesting enough to cover.Steve Bannon, who's all over mainstream shows like Real Time with Bill Maher and Stephen A. Smith's podcast, is out here advocating a radical repositioning of the Republican tax platform — and the headlines are all about whether Trump should run for a third term. And I get it, that's the clickier angle. But it's also lazy. We're watching tectonic plates shift, and we're still playing with bumper stickers. That's not just a mainstream media problem, by the way. It's an independent media problem too. There are great voices on Substack and elsewhere that have done real work to break free from traditional narratives. And yet, over the last few weeks, I've seen far too much content boil down to one question: “Is this an outrage? Yes or no?” And when the answer is always “yes,” you're not informing anymore — you're reinforcing. My goal isn't to register my opinion on every current thing. My goal is to give you something that still feels relevant five years from now. Something you can remember discovering here before it hit the mainstream. I'm not always going to say the thing that fits into someone's ideological slot. That's going to disappoint people sometimes. I get that. But I hope the tradeoff is worth it. Because if you're giving me your time and maybe even your money, I owe you something rare. Forecast = Prepare for scattered CVEs, rising bot storms, and real-time threat lightning. Keep your digital umbrellas handy! On this episode of Storm⚡️Watch, we're breaking down the latest shifts in the vulnerability tracking landscape, starting with the ongoing turbulence in the CVE program. As the MITRE-run CVE system faces funding uncertainty and a potential transition to nonprofit status, the global security community is rapidly adapting. New standards and databases are emerging to fill the gaps—Europe's ENISA is rolling out the EU Vulnerability Database to ensure regional control, while China continues to operate its own state-mandated systems. Meanwhile, the CVE ecosystem's chronic delays and the NVD's new “Deferred” status for tens of thousands of older vulnerabilities are pushing teams to look elsewhere for timely, enriched vulnerability data. Open-source projects like OSV.dev and commercial players such as VulnCheck and Snyk are stepping up, offering real-time enrichment, exploit intelligence, and predictive scoring to help organizations prioritize what matters most. The result is a fragmented but innovative patchwork of regional, decentralized, open-source, and commercial solutions, with hybrid approaches quickly becoming the norm for defenders worldwide. We're also diving into Imperva's 2024 Bad Bot Report, which reveals that nearly a third of all internet traffic last year came from malicious bots. These bots are getting more sophisticated—using residential proxies, mimicking human behavior, and bypassing traditional defenses. The report highlights a surge in account takeover attacks and shows that industries like entertainment and retail are especially hard hit, with bot traffic now outpacing human visitors in some sectors. The rise of simple bots, fueled by easy-to-use AI tools, is reshaping the threat landscape, while advanced and evasive bots continue to challenge even the best detection systems. On the threat intelligence front, GreyNoise has just launched its Global Observation Grid—now the largest deception sensor network in the world, with thousands of sensors in over 80 countries. This expansion enables real-time, verifiable intelligence on internet scanning and exploitation, helping defenders cut through the noise and focus on the threats that matter. GreyNoise's latest research shows attackers are exploiting vulnerabilities within hours of disclosure, with a significant portion of attacks targeting legacy flaws from years past. Their data-driven insights are empowering security teams to prioritize patching and response based on what's actually being exploited in the wild, not just theoretical risk. We're also spotlighting Censys and its tools for tracking botnets and advanced threats, including collaborative projects with GreyNoise and CursorAI. Their automated infrastructure mapping and pivoting capabilities are helping researchers quickly identify related malicious hosts and uncover the infrastructure behind large-scale attacks. Finally, VulnCheck continues to bridge the gap during the CVE program's uncertainty, offering autonomous enrichment, real-time exploit tracking, and comprehensive coverage—including for CVEs that NVD has deprioritized. Their Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog and enhanced NVD++ service are giving defenders a broader, faster view of the threat landscape, often surfacing critical exploitation activity weeks before it's reflected in official government feeds. As the vulnerability management ecosystem splinters and evolves, organizations are being forced to rethink their strategies—embracing a mix of regional, open-source, and commercial intelligence to maintain visibility and stay ahead of attackers. The days of relying on a single source of truth for vulnerability data are over, and the future is all about agility, automation, and real-time insight. Jackie Chan is back in Hollywood (against his better judgment) and is joining a cavalcade of stars including Burt Reynolds, Dom Deluise, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Marilu Henner, Shirley MaClaine and MANY MORE - including ol' blue eyes himself Frank Sinatra - in the cross-country race (?) comedy (?) CANNONBALL RUN II which brings back all the things you know and love(?) about the first film, and.. well, that's just about it. It's pretty much the same thing. Except there's an orangutan this time, and Jackie has been teamed up with Richard Kiel just to make sure we all know he's extra small and (once again) bafflingly Japanese. Listen to Liam's blood pressure rise in REAL TIME as he describes his time with the film. ENJOY! The post Episode 270 – We Do Our Own Stunts – Cannonball Run II (1984) first appeared on Cinema Smorgasbord.

Effortless Awareness: Using Real-Time Neurofeedback to Investigate Correlates of Posterior Cingulate Cortex Activity in Meditators' Self-Report explores how real-time fMRI neurofeedback can link meditation experience to brain activity. In this episode, Dr. Jud Brewer and his collaborators discuss their groundbreaking study, which analyzed first-person reports of experienced meditators and real-time feedback of posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) activity. The study reveals how “effortless awareness” and “undistracted attention” correlate with PCC deactivation, while “efforting” and “distraction” activate the region. These findings provide fresh insights into the neuroscience of mindfulness, self-referential processing, and how meditation can train the brain towards a state of effortless presence.Reference:Garrison KA, Santoyo JF, Davis JH, Thornhill TA IV, Kerr CE, Brewer JA. On Friday's episode of Real Time, host Bill Maher opened up about a surprising meeting he had last week with former President Donald Trump at the White House. Maher said the encounter was far more cordial and humorous than he ever anticipated. “You can hate me for it, but I'm not a liar. Trump was gracious and measured,” Maher said. “And why isn't that in other settings—I don't know, and I can't answer, and it's not my place to answer. I'm just telling you what I saw, and I wasn't high.” During the meeting, Maher brought along a printout of Trump's past insults directed at him. Surprisingly, Trump took it in stride and even signed it with what Maher described as “good humor.” Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the hype surrounding Maher's visit to the White House and whether the Real Time host was merely charmed by Trump the consummate politician. Plus segments on actor Michael Rapaport whining that his pro-Zionist activism has cost him work in Hollywood, Glenn Greenwald schooling Megyn Kelly on the first amendment and Bernie Sanders mysteriously dropping his talk of the threat of oligarchy during the Biden presidency. Also featuring Mike MacRae and Stef Zamorano. And a phone call from Liam Neeson!
