Radicalization in Real Time — From Campus Disagreement to Political Assassination This isn't a cold, calculated political hit. According to retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer, what happened to Charlie Kirk may be far more frightening — and far more common. In this explosive third segment, Tony and Jennifer zoom out to explore the larger behavioral and cultural forces at play. Why did a 22-year-old with no record, no extremist ties, and no formal manifesto decide to take a sniper shot at a nationally known public figure? And why did it all come together in just over a week? The answer, it seems, has less to do with ideology and more to do with ego, entitlement, and broken impulse control. The two examine whether this killing marks a turning point in how political violence erupts — not through group indoctrination, but through social isolation and emotional instability. Tyler Robinson wasn't radicalized in a chatroom over years. He saw a flyer, got angry, and decided to act. Jennifer lays out the FBI's concern about “short-fuse actors” — lone wolves who act with little planning and massive damage. The discussion gets raw and real, covering everything from online behavior patterns to how society and law enforcement misread red flags until it's too late. If you're worried about where our discourse is heading, this segment is essential viewing. Because this isn't just about one man and one bullet — it's about the spark that lit it.

Send us a textThis week on The Wall Street Skinny, we sat down with Gene Tannuzzo, Global Head of Fixed Income at Columbia Threadneedle, right as the Federal Reserve's latest rate decision hit the wires. We walk through the live market reaction to the Fed's 25 basis point cut, the dissenting voices on the FOMC, and what this move signals about the central bank's shifting priorities. For those curious about how policy decisions ripple into real-time trading activity, this episode gives you a rare seat at the table during the announcement itself. As Gene explains, the flatness of today's yield curve and the Fed's projections for additional cuts this year underscore the tension between slowing labor market data and still-stubborn inflation. We dig into the nuances of steepeners versus flatteners, what the dot plot is really telling us, and how fiscal policy plays into the broader bond market narrative. Whether you're an experienced market watcher or just starting to understand the dynamics of Fed meetings, you'll come away with a much clearer framework for interpreting these moves. We also broaden the conversation to explore structural shifts in the economy, including labor force trends, immigration, and the role of AI in reshaping productivity and capital spending. Gene helps break down why funding markets matter, how balance sheet policy can contradict rate policy, and what investors should watch for as the Fed balances credibility, growth, and inflation risk. The result is a lively, insightful discussion that blends market theory, policy analysis, and practical trading perspective. For a 14 day FREE Trial of Macabacus, click HERE For 20% off Deleteme, use the code TWSS or click the link HERE! The issue is data fragmentation, where untrustworthy data is siloed across different databases, SaaS applications, warehouses, and on-premise systems,” Vladimir Jandreski, Chief Product Officer at Ververica, tells Christina Stathopoulos, the Founder of Dare to Data. “Simply, there is no single view of the truth that exists. With governance and data quality checks, these are often inconsistent, AI systems end up consuming incomplete or conflicting signals,” he added, setting the stage for the podcast. In this episode of the Don't Panic, It's Just Data podcast, Stathopoulos speaks with Jandreski about the vital role of unified streaming data platforms in facilitating real-time AI. They discuss the difficulties businesses encounter when implementing AI, the significance of going beyond batch processing, and the skills necessary for a successful streaming data platform. Applications in the real world, especially in e-commerce and fraud detection, show how real-time data can revolutionise AI strategies.Your AI Could Be a Step Behind Jandreski says that most organisations continue to be engineered on batch-first data systems. That means, they still process information in chunks—often hours or even days later. “It's fine for reporting, but it means your AI is always going to be one step behind.”However, “the unified streaming platform flips that model from data at rest to data in motion.” A unified platform will “continuously capture the pulse” of the business and feed it directly to AI for automated real-time decision making. Challenges of Agentic AI Considering that the world is moving toward the era of agentic AI, there are some key challenges that still need to be addressed. Agentic AI means autonomous agents make real-time decisions, maintain memory, use tools and collaborate among themselves. Because they act on their own decisions, regulating them is necessary. Building agents is not the main challenge, but the real challenge is “actually giving them the right infrastructure.” Jandreski highlights. Alluding to an example of AI prototyping frameworks such as Longchain or Lama Index, he further explained that those frameworks work for demos. In reality, however, they can't support a long-running system trigger workflows that demand high availability, fault tolerance, and deep integration with the enterprise data. This is because enterprises have multiple systems, and many of them are not connected. This way, the data forms into silos. When data is in silos, a unified streaming data platform becomes the key solution. “It provides a real-time event-driven contextual runtime where AI agents need to move from the lab experiments to production reality.”TakeawaysUnified streaming data platforms are essential for real-time AI.Batch processing creates lag, hindering AI effectiveness.Data fragmentation leads to unreliable AI decisions.A unified platform ensures data is fresh and trustworthy.Real-time AI requires a robust data infrastructure.Organisations must move beyond legacy batch systems.Governance and data quality are critical for AI success.Real-world applications...

Dreeke explains how social media algorithms feed vulnerable young people a steady diet of fear, negativity, and outrage — creating echo chambers where violence is normalized. The conversation explores how platforms like Discord and online gaming chats become breeding grounds for extremist thinking, not through shadowy “radicalizers,” but through peer-to-peer validation. The suspect wasn't groomed in a cave halfway around the world — he was groomed in his own living room. The team also examines foreign interference. Drawing on his counterintelligence career, Dreeke explains “active measures” — how Russia and other foreign powers exploit America's freedoms to sow distrust, disinformation, and division. From bots to anonymous accounts, much of the online noise after the assassination attempt appears designed to pit Americans against each other. Stacy raises a critical point: are today's young people living in a constant trauma response, marinated in fear from birth, without tools to manage it? Robin agrees, pointing out how chronic fear escalates into anger, rage, and ultimately violence when curiosity and constructive outlets are missing. This segment reveals how radicalization isn't abstract anymore — it's woven into the everyday online world. And without intervention, more young people may follow the same dangerous path. #CharlieKirk #AssassinationAttempt #HiddenKillers #Radicalization #RobinDreeke #SocialMediaEchoChamber #FBI #Counterintelligence #TrueCrime #ForeignInfluence Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination Ben Shapiro hurls baseless accusations about the murderer's ideology and identity on Real Time with Bill Maher. Journalist and author, Megan Greenwell joins the show to discuss her book Bad Company: Private Equity and the Death of the American Dream. Check out the Private Equity Stakeholder Project. In the Fun Half: Howard Lutnick is laughing all the way to bank as every negative forecast for Trump's economy will ultimately benefit his family business. Another crook, Scott Bessent laughs as he denies that tariffs are a tax. A farmer in Arkansas lays out how screwed American farmers are under Donald Trump. Billions have been lost, and the only way out will be a bailout. When asked if the U.S. bombing an alleged drug boat in the Carribean was illegal he replied that the drugs on the boat were illegal. As people are losing their jobs simply for posting Charlie Kirk quotes, Brian Kilmeade flat out says that we should kill homeless and mentally ill people then offers a weak apology. "Together, we can get our kids back."We live in a world where childhood is being rewritten by screens—and the consequences are showing up in our kids' mental health, sleep patterns, and ability to thrive in the real world. In this episode, psychologist and researcher Dr. Jean Twenge joins us to unpack her groundbreaking book 10 Rules for Raising Kids in a High-Tech World.Dr. Twenge doesn't sugarcoat the truth: social media is rewiring our children's brains, devices are stealing the very sleep they need to grow, and parents are often left feeling powerless against Big Tech's grip. But she also brings hope—and a plan. Through ten clear, practical rules, she explains how parents can reclaim their authority, set boundaries that actually stick, and raise kids who are grounded in real-world experiences instead of lost in endless scrolling. This is more than just a parenting guide—it's a call to action. Because no parent can fight this battle alone. Our children's future depends on a collective stand: saying no to predatory platforms, demanding safer technology practices, and prioritizing human connection over algorithms designed to addict. If you've ever wondered how much tech is too much, if you've seen your child slip into the black hole of social media, or if you're simply worried about what kind of world we're handing the next generation—this conversation will give you both the urgency and the tools you need.JEAN M. TWENGE, PhD, a professor of psychology at San Diego State University, is the author of more than 190 scientific publications and several books based on her research, including 10 Rules for Raising Kids in a High-Tech World, Generations, iGen, and Generation Me. My nervous system has been collapsing for the last two weeks and here is a real time account of what I'm experiencing. Something about a nervous system that is slowly in decline is that it's really hard to catch and it will sneak up on you. Perhaps you have experienced some of the symptoms or are currently experiencing the symptoms yourself. As somebody who teaches about the nervous system, it simultaneously is really awesome and it sucks to be so hyper aware when your system is approaching a collapse. For me, I am very aware of my energy rhythms and currently the biggest take away is that any energy that I'm generating is going towards processing emotions to the point where afterwards I don't have anything left for other things. I'm grateful that this emotions have a place to exist in my physical body and that my body is alchemizing them at this intense rate, but it doesn't change the fact that it is incredibly exhausting! I'd love to hear from you if you've experienced what I'm talking about in this episode!
Worldbuilding. It's one of the most talked about aspects of running TTRPGs, as it is the sandbox into which you will throw your party to adventure in. We've talked about tips and tricks in past episodes and articles, and have come down on both sides of the debate surrounding how much to do with a focus totally on your specific table and party. However, in this episode, Tony, Chris, and Dave have decided to become a bit more involved with a new experiment that we cooked up.Something that has never been done on 3WD before – we're going to start building a new world live! In real time, we begin asking the questions that will shape our new creation. As this is a show by DMs for DMs, we're adding another aspect. YOU! Prof Shana Kelley is the Neena Schwartz Professor of Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University and President of the CZI Chicago Biohub, which brings together life scientists at Northwestern, University of Chicago, and U. Illinois Urbana Champaign. Her lab's website provides recent publications in the 3 major areas of biomolecular sensors, rare and single cell analysis, and intracellular molecular delivery. You are undoubtedly familiar with wearable biosensors on the wrist and rings, and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), all of which can transmit physiologic data in real time to your smartphone. What is different about Prof Kelley's work is the ingenious way of continuously tracking any proteins in our blood via a sensor that could function just like CGM in the future (hair thin sensor applied just below the skin and data relayed to your smartphone). A proof-of-concept paper in Science showed how exquisitely sensitive such a sensor worked to track inflammation markers [interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)] in the diabetic rat model. As seen. below, just the injection of insulin evoked inflammation, and introduction of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) did so markedly. This capability opens up the potential for monitoring body-wide inflammation in real time, but also extends to many other conditions such as autoimmune diseases, heart failure (e.g. continuous brain natriuetic peptide monitoring), and neurodegenerative diseases (with specific markers of neuroinflammation). This innovation represents a new dimension in individualized (precision) medicine. In our conversation, Shana takes us through the discovery of these unique bimolecular sensors that have no reagents, and use electricity to shake off the protein from DNA strands. And she maps out the path to clinical trials and commercialization in the next couple of years.Thank you Stephen B. Here's the thing. Connecting thousands of devices is the easy part. Keeping them resilient and secure as you grow is where the real work lives. In this episode, I sit down with Iain Davidson, Senior Product Manager at Wireless Logic, to unpack what happens when connectivity, security, and operations meet in the real world. Wireless Logic connects a new IoT device every 18 seconds, with more than 18 million active subscriptions across 165 countries and partnerships with over 750 mobile networks. That reach brings hard lessons about where projects stall, where breaches begin, and how to build systems that can take a hit without taking your business offline. Iain lays out a simple idea that more teams need to hear. Resilience and security have to scale at the same pace as your device rollouts. He explains why fallback connectivity, private networking, and an IoT-optimised mobile core such as Conexa set the ground rules, but the real differentiator is visibility. If you cannot see what your fleet is doing in near real time, you are guessing. We talk through Wireless Logic's agentless anomaly and threat detection that runs in the mobile core, creating behavioural baselines and flagging malware events, backdoors, and suspicious traffic before small issues become outages. It is an early warning layer for fleets that often live beyond the traditional IT perimeter. We also get honest about risk. Iain shares why one in three breaches now involve an IoT device and why detection can still take months. Ransomware demands grab headlines, but the quiet damage shows up in recovery costs, truck rolls, and trust lost with customers. Then there is compliance. With new rules tightening in Europe and beyond, scaling without protection does not only invite attackers. It can keep you out of the market. Iain's message is clear. Bake security in from day one through defend, detect, react practices, supply chain checks, secure boot and firmware integrity, OTA updates, and the discipline to rehearse incident playbooks so people know what to do when alarms sound. What if you already shipped devices without all of that in place? We cover that too. From migrating SIMs into secure private networks to quarantining suspect endpoints and turning on core-level detection without adding agents, there are practical ways to raise your posture without ripping and replacing hardware. Automation helps, especially at global scale, but people still make the judgment calls. Train your teams, run simulations, and give both humans and digital systems clear rules for when to block, when to escalate, and when to restore from backup. I left this conversation with a simple takeaway. Growth is only real if it is durable. If you are rolling out EV chargers, medical devices, cameras, industrial sensors, or anything that talks to the network, this episode gives you a working playbook for scaling with confidence. Connect with Iain on LinkedIn, explore the IoT security resources at WirelessLogic.com, or reach the team at hello@wirelesslogic.com. ********* Visit the Sponsor of Tech Talks Network: Land your first job in tech in 6 months as a Software QA Engineering Bootcamp with Careerist https://crst.co/OGCLA
