Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTHIt's the night before and an elf band is out in the snow and they beginning playing an absolute banger of a song and that's when Dan found out this movie was a musical. Santa begins to sing a song all about preparing for Christmas. It's showtime baby! There is one letter that got left behind, so these elves run to try to get it to Santa before he takes off. One of the reindeer, Robin, gets sick and has to stay home. The elves come running out just in time and Santa opens up the letter. It is from a little girl, The Princesss of Hearts, in Wonderland who is hoping Santa will finally visit them this year. He decides that they're going to visit Wonderland first. The reindeer aren't having it. They've read the book. Wonderland is mad! Santa reminds them that he's Santa and everyone deserves a gift! Robin realizes that Santa left the reindeer SOS button behind, so they fly off.We head to Wonderland and we find out that some of the folks in Wonderland secretly celebrate Christmas but hide it from the Queen because she's outlawed Christmas. She heads off to sleep just as Santa lands on the roof. Her cat hears some commotion on the roof and won't stand for it. So they go invisible mode, sneaks downstairs and knocks over a lamp to wake the Queen up. She comes downstairs and finds Santa and she says OFF WITH HIS HEAD! He runs off and she fall out the window. Santa tries to find the princess but ends up opening a door which causes him to fall through the door and into a maze. It's mad out there! He discovers a girl named Alice who is also there and she's a giant - she's been eating the apple shrooms. Luckily, she's given a potion which shrinks her back to regular size. They go to enjoy some tea and treats with the Mad Hatter. But the Queen isn't too far behind. We find out that the Queen tried to send a letter to Santa when she was a kid, but the White Rabbit goofed on getting it to the mailbox in one piece. Since Santa never came to Wonderland, she began to hate Christmas. she catches up with Santa and he is put on trial. It's in the trial that the Queen finds out that St. Nick has only just now discovered her letter. Via song, we find out all she really wanted was a bandersnatch. She gives it some thought and decides to give St. Nick one last chance to give her the bandersnatch she's always wanted. But Santa and the gang took some of the shrinking juice to escape from jail. When Queen gets to the jail, she finds it empty and gets real sad. She tracks Santa down and he gives her the gift and it's coal. He explains that's what happens to a gift if you haven't been nice. The only way to get the gift is to be kind. So she decides to let Alice go but keep Santa in jail until the gift turns back. Alice helps the Queen learn how to be kind again. She finds Santa and tells him to give the gift to someone who deserves it and they all enjoy tea together.

Overheated and overfished: an SOS for oceans under duress is being sent from a UN summit in Nice. But try telling that to those who advocate deep-sea drilling for precious metals. In a world hungry for the minerals that power our batteries and connect our computers, the United States but also China, India, Japan, Norway and more are seriously studying whether science fiction can become reality. We ask about the actual feasibility of deep-sea mining and the competing narratives at play, what with the US boycotting the United Nations Oceans Conference in Nice and a paltry 32 nations so far ratifying the UN's High Seas Treaty.

Episode Overview In this candid snack episode, Miranda Dorta puts Tracy Cherpeski in the interview seat to explore the essential roadmap from where healthcare practice owners are now to where they want to be. This unscripted conversation dives deep into the systems, strategies, and team-building approaches that create sustainable practice growth. Whether you're taking your first growth step or navigating complex expansion challenges, this episode provides the clarity and confidence needed to move forward strategically. Key Highlights Subtract Before You Multiply- Essential pre-growth evaluation to identify systems that won't scale and operational bottlenecks that need addressing Capacity Assessment- How to determine if your current systems can "rinse and repeat" with minimal intervention before expanding Sustainable Growth Rates- Understanding the difference between rapid growth (which sometimes just happens) and sustainable 30% year-over-year growth Values-Driven Decision Making- Distinguishing between growth opportunities that align with core values versus those that simply increase revenue The WAIT Method- Strategic pausing using the acronym "Why Am I Talking?" to ensure thoughtful leadership decisions Culture as Foundation- How practice culture extends far beyond pizza parties to include conflict resolution, team unity during challenges, and shared vision alignment Memorable Quotes "You need to subtract before you multiply. If you don't take care of your problems, they're gonna grow with you." "The key is if the systems you have in place can basically rinse, repeat, with minimal intervention, you're probably in a really good place to expand." "We call it a shiny object and we call that the SOS - the shiny object syndrome." "Culture isn't a workshop that you attend. If you're the head of practice and you're the practice owner, you set the tone." "When you come together for a common goal, which would be the vision and mission of the practice, when you have your team on board, that's everything. That really is everything." Justin brings on “Michigan Enjoyer” James Dixon to unpack Rep. Jim DeSana's newly filed impeachment articles against Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, branding her “the most lawless SoS in Michigan history.” Dixon explains why the move—though unlikely to clear the Democrat‑run Senate—still forces public scrutiny, noting 1890s precedent when a Michigan SoS was booted for “gross neglect.” They dissect Benson's 2020 order to presume signature matches, her campaign launch inside a state office, and AG Dana Nessel's refusal to act, framing impeachment as the only accountability left. The pair game out political fallout for Benson's rumored gubernatorial bid, tease federal cash reportedly bankrolling Chinese pathogen smugglers, and close with throat‑soothing hot‑toddy banter amid Canadian wildfire smoke.Get the stories from today's show in THE STACK: https://justinbarclay.comKirk Elliott PHD - FREE consultation on wealth conservation - http://GoldWithJustin.comJoin Justin in the MAHA revolution - http://HealthWithJustin.comTry Cue Streaming for just $2 / day and help support the good guys https://justinbarclay.com/cueUp to 80% OFF! Send us a textI've known Amber for a long time. She was an OG at SOS and back then I could sense something was off, but I didn't know the full story. I didn't know she was quietly fighting a battle with food, control, and over-exercise that was stealing so much more than just her energy—it was stealing her presence. Her joy. Her health. Her period. It wasn't until we recorded the Infertility Series that I learned the whole story—and damn, it hit me hard.In this episode, Amber gets brutally honest about what it's like to live inside the mental spiral of orthorexia and exercise addiction. We talk about how that level of control shows up in everyday life, how it impacts relationships, and what it takes to finally break free. Because this isn't just about food or fitness. This is about being so consumed by the need to control, that you miss out on life itself. She talks about:Losing her period for years—and why that was the wake-up callHiding disordered habits behind “health”Why presence is the real flexThe little moments that helped her start healingWhat it looks like to work out and eat because you love yourself, not because you hate your bodyIf you're listening and your stomach is turning a little, or you're recognizing something in yourself or someone you love—listen all the way through. Amber's story is powerful, but more importantly, it's proof that healing is possible. You don't have to stay stuck. There's a way out. The door is open.

We Must Save the Books. That's Michael Kimmage's SOS message from Trumpian Washington in this issue of Liberties Quarterly. Kimmage, former director of the Kennan Institute at the Wilson Center, describes the surreal experience of being hired in January 2025 only to see his institution shuttered by Trump's administration three months later. He reflects on the "American ruin" created as a consequence of abandonment of the Wilson Center's 30,000 book library. And Kimmage connects the rapid destruction of foreign policy institutions like USAID and the U.S. Institute of Peace to a broader assault on expertise and nonpartisan learning, warning that without such institutions, "an abyss opens" in American governance and international relations. Five Key Takeaways* Institutional Destruction was Swift and Unexplained - The Wilson Center, USAID (reduced from 10,000 to 15 employees), and U.S. Institute of Peace were shuttered within months with no clear rationale provided, creating a "nightmare-like" quality where decisions happened without accountability.* America's First Modern Ruin - Kimmage describes the abandoned Wilson Center library as unprecedented in American experience - a functioning institution in the heart of Washington D.C. suddenly left as a tomb-like ruin, unlike anything seen in a country never defeated on its own soil.* Books Were Saved, But Expertise Was Lost - While the 30,000-volume library was eventually rescued and distributed to universities, the real loss was the destruction of nonpartisan expertise and institutional knowledge that took decades to build.* Echoes of 1950s McCarthyism - The assault on expertise mirrors McCarthyism, with direct connections through Roy Cohn's mentorship of Trump, but differs in scale since it's driven by a president rather than a senator.* The Death of Learning in Government - The shutdowns represent a fundamental rejection of the idea that careful, nonpartisan study of international affairs is essential to effective policymaking, potentially creating an "abyss" in American foreign policy capacity.Michael Kimmage is Director of the Wilson Center's Kennan Institute. Prior to joining the Kennan Institute, Michael Kimmage was a professor of history at the Catholic University of America. From 2014 to 2017, he served on the Secretary's Policy Planning Staff at the U.S. Department of State, where he held the Russia/Ukraine portfolio. He has been a fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and at the German Marshall Fund; and was on the advisory board of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs. He publishes widely on international affairs and on U.S. policy toward Russia. His latest book, Collisions: The War in Ukraine and the Origins of the New Global Instability, was published by Oxford University Press in March 2024. He is also the author of The Abandonment of the West: The History of an Idea in American Foreign Policy, published by Basic Books in 2020, and The Conservative Turn: Lionel Trilling, Whittaker Chambers and the Lessons of Anti-Communism, published by Harvard University Press in 2009.Named as one of the "100 most connected men" by GQ magazine, Andrew Keen is amongst the world's best known broadcasters and commentators. Andrew recounts his running journey, which began in 2014 after his football career, initially to get fit, but quickly evolved into a passion due to the immense physical and mental benefits, including stress management and a sense of accomplishment. He emphasizes the addictive nature of running and the importance of balancing it with other life commitments.Andrew, a busy "Sparky" with three children and active in their sports, shares his love for the sport. He also discusses his recent Run the Gap 12km event and his experience being coached by Matt at Run2PB, along with his favorite training sessions. Andrew passionately advocates for the social side of running, cherishing the camaraderie and banter with fellow runners.A significant part of Andrew's story revolves around his deep community involvement, particularly as a co-event director for the Wimmera River Parkrun. He enthusiastically promotes the positive impact on fostering good habits in children, providing social connections, and offering physical and mental health benefits to the community. His satisfaction comes from volunteering and seeing others achieve their personal bests, noting the significant growth of Wimmera River Parkrun. The episode concludes with a discussion from the WR chat about a "Buffalo Bandit Lacrosse player who ran a half marathon in full kit," and gets the boys posing some challenges Sos's way.
