Hey it's been awhile, I'm missed yall! Today on SOS we have Nicole Harp— one of my all-time favorite guests, a gifted animal communicator and intuitive artist. She is someone I naturally turn to whenever I have meaningful animal encounters — whether it's with my dogs or the wildlife that visits my yard — because she understands that animals always carry deeper messages. Recently, Nicole brought both of her extraordinary gifts together to create The Animal Truth Oracle, a tool designed to help YOU connect with animals on a deeper level.  Nicole needs your support to help get this great gift out to the mass, you can be a part of this by following her amazing project on Kickstarter- once people sign up with their email it will take them to the Kickstarter Campaign.

Divine Supply: Finding Peace and Contentment in Philippians 4What does it mean to trust God to supply what we need? In this episode of CARA, Lori walks through Philippians 4—from Paul's call to stand together and bring our worries to God, to his words about contentment in seasons of both abundance and need.Together, we explore what “I can do all things through Christ” means in its original context and why God's promise to supply our needs is so much richer when we read the whole chapter. If you're facing uncertainty, this conversation is an invitation to pray honestly, receive His peace, and trust Him for strength today.

An urgent SOS has gone out over rural health services. Six staff at the Pahiatua Medical Centre have resigned amid growing concern around extreme workloads and patient safety. In a series of letters to clinic owners Tararua Health Group and the PHO staff have laid out a litany of serious issues. Public health advocacy groups Kaitiaki Hauora and Patient Voice Aotearoa are now holding meetings in Pahiatua, Woodville and Dannevirke starting tomorrow. Patient Voice Aotearoa co-founder, Malcolm Mulholland spoke to Lisa Owen.

In this final installment of School of September for this season, I offer up a summary of all the SOS episodes of 2026, key takeaways, and remind us all of the three key things that must happen to put a bull on the ground this year. With all the episodes we do around archery elk hunting, it's easy to get lost in some of the more technical hunting strategies. Simplify your process, focus on the fundamentals, and remember there's more than one way to skin a cat! Love football? Love Inverness Caledonian Thistle? Love talking about HGVs? Jack Burton says this is the podcast for you. Despite ICTFC recording no league wins at time of recording, The Wyness Shuffle is back to run the big rig over the most recent matches v Raith Rovers and Stenhousemuir and the start to the season in general. Returning to the Highlands, Roddy Macgregor joins us for a chat, and Craig Masterton from the ICT Community Development Trust gives us an update on the amazing work of everyone involved in their efforts. Join Andrew Moffat, Stevie Riley, Andrew Young, Sandy Sutherland, and Lee Tarling for all of that, plus some random ABBA references. 01.00: Hello: Mama Mia we need an SOS. 01.33: Highlight / Lowlight: The boys pick out their highlights and their lowlights from the opening month of the season. 05:47: Game by Game: Five games played, won 0, drawn 3, lost 2. Points 3. Sitting 9th in the league. Doesn't look great but the Shufflers point to some positive results, where the manager might look to change things up, additions, and how Marvin Bartley is actually really smart and we are not. 33.15: What Ya Sayin?: Returning after two years in the Glasgow wilderness, Roddy Macgregor talks coming back to Inverness, his time down south, trying to get in the starting eleven, and his love of a Hilton chippy and a pint of Stella. 50.51: The Club: Always lots going behind the scenes as the Shufflers talk Stadium renovations, hospitality options, fixture scheduling, the sad departure of some key faces at the club, and huge debate and much excitement about Highland Fuels proposed ICT truck park and bunkering site. 01:07:26: Community Trust: The ICT Community Development Trust's primary objective is to promote and improve the physical and mental health of both young and old through activity and provide an opportunity for everyone in Inverness and surrounding areas to participate in football! Night-time insects of late summer with some added texture and sporadic notes. Spend the night in the backyard! Whether you're studying, working, reading, sleeping, or unwinding after a long day, this immersive ambient soundscape provides the perfect background soundtrack. No talking, no interruptions—just late summer bug chatter. Ignore the World. _____It's our third installment of late summer sounds from my backyard. The main audio was recorded over the last weekend in August. As this episode is the third installment of “A Dying Summer's Suburban slumber,” I've gone rogue and added some texture and other elements. I've got a bunch of naked night bug episodes—as in no sound (this is a family show). To me the bugs are always more fun when the temperatures get lower and affect the frequency over the night. With the weather as warm as it has been, the bugs are naked and loud.Speaking of naked, I have been thinking of Lee Iacocca—look, I probably needed two more paragraphs to segue between nude insects and the former businessman (and Snoop Dogg commercial co-host—**** that could have been my segue). What would Lee Iacocca make of our current world? No, kidding WGAS—sing out loud “Lee Iacocca… made some cars” to the tune of “Jeremy” by Pearl Jam and now you have the same tic as me! “Jay-EE-AR Tolkien, wrote some books” also works.Gawd, I had to read Lee Iacocca in high school… I skimmed about as much as I could stand, and bull****ed my way through the report. Iacocca's book cover (swagger) was presented to empty Chick-O-Stick wrappers and the other gunk at the bottom of my book bag most of the time it was in my possession. And to continue the household brand name theme— I don't give a **** about transitioning properly! Let me tell you about one of the first internet fandom-fueled movements I remember. It was late 1996 and I was a college dip****. Sophomore year, Redman's Muddy Waters forever in my cassette player. Slothing around a snowy Vermont campus in baggy jeans, XXL Pure Playaz t-shirts. It was almost time to return home for Christmas—my dad cryptically mentions over the phone that he would be sending me back after the holiday with enough breakfast for the final semester.“What?”Dad explained he was in possession of a multitude of Unfrosted Strawberry Pop-Tarts value packs. And I would be inheriting most of them. “Awesome.”My father fluctuated between bemused and proud of my sister's advocacy—while lording over a stockpile of breakfast sweets. Apparently, my younger sister had been part of SOS, a group of online Sailor Moon fans not happy with Sailor Moon syndication time slots in the United States. The distributor planned to shutter production (adaptation and dubbing for American audiences) because the show wasn't performing well. And the SOS decided rather than boycott something to save their new favorite show, SOS would stage a procott on a day in December 1996 to display their purchasing power. They chose Unfrosted Strawberry Pop-Tarts and the campaign made waves. I don't know the ramifications of what SOS accomplished overall, but Sailor Moon is still in the zeitgeist and I got a lot of Pop-Tarts. PS: Homage cover art this week inspired by Iron Nest, a video game that gives you the keys to an early 1900s Metal Gear with Myst vibes and a fantastic liminal space to inhabit. Plus, their cover art rocks—not an ad, just fanboy ****. PPS: It is a game about a fictional war, and while war runs counter to the philosophy of this podcast... I haven't felt like I was back in Myst since Riven, and I stunk at Riven.

Listen to today's podcast... Do you find yourself creaking, cracking, groaning, or moaning, more as you age? I recently took a look at a website that tried to determine your real age compared to your chronological age. I was pleased to see that it covered a variety of areas related to positive stress management and this sparked some interesting reflection regarding healthy aging. Studies show that regularly exercising our brains by problem-solving, organizing, and prioritizing helps our bodies age healthy. Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency!      Here are today's Tips For Building Resiliency and Celebrating Healthy Aging Month. Well besides the obvious of healthy eating and staying hydrated, along with regular exercise, make sure that you're getting an adequate amount of sleep. And finally, look for creative ways to stimulate your brain. If you'd like some more tips, follow me on twitter at SOS to stress. #mentalhealth #hr

In this episode of Vada Poche Tamil Podcast, we get into something we've never really spoken about on here. What sets off our anxiety, what we think it goes back to, and the bits of childhood that shaped us more than we realised. None of us have a diagnosis. All of us know the feeling anyway. Some of us have found a way through it. Some of us are still figuring it out. We're not experts and this isn't advice. It's three friends being honest about something Tamil households don't really talk about, in case it helps someone to hear it.⚠️ Content note: this episode discusses anxiety and difficult childhood experiences. Look after yourself listening, and skip it if it's not a good time. If you're struggling, you're not alone. In Singapore, SOS is on 1767 (or CareText 9151 1767), and mindline.sg has free support.

In this episode of The Localist, Carrie Rollwagen sits down with Malissa Davis, the founder of Best You Ever, a Birmingham-based personal styling and image consulting firm. Malissa spent nearly 10 years at Nordstrom before launching her own business, and now works with clients in Birmingham and virtually across the United States. Fun fact: Malissa is also the mom of Taylor Davis, the showrunner for The Localist. If you've ever seen Taylor on camera and thought she looked great, that is Malissa's work. Malissa opens with how she starts every client relationship: tell me your story. She talks about why building trust in a dressing room feels a little like being an unlicensed therapist, and what she learned in a decade at Nordstrom that shaped how she works today. She walks through her closet cleanout process (take out anything that does not fit, including the clothes you keep to shame yourself into losing weight), her style assessment quiz, and why her four-hour shopping cap is really about respecting your capacity. The second half is about the business side of things. Malissa gets into why she specializes in curves and tall women, why tailoring is worth the extra $15 every time, how she styles for speaking events and camera, and the SOS package for special occasions. She also shares one of her favorite client stories: styling a Biggest Loser finalist for the show finale. If you are trying to build a personal brand, style yourself for a speaking event, or just tired of your closet saying no to you every morning, this episode is a warm, practical guide. Sex can bring up some of the biggest questions in dating: When is the right time to sleep with someone? Should you talk about what it means beforehand? And what if you have sex and they suddenly pull away?If you've ever worried that sleeping with someone too soon could make them lose interest—or felt like having sex somehow meant giving away your power—this episode is for you.I'm answering some of the questions people come to me with in full SOS mode, including:When to have sex with someone you're datingHow to talk about sex before you sleep together (including a simple script you can adapt)What to do if someone rejects or ghosts you afterwardHow to stop tying your sense of power to whether someone stays or leavesBecause your power doesn't come from making all the "right" moves so someone chooses you. It comes from knowing you'll be OK no matter what they choose. If you've been overthinking when to have sex, worrying about getting attached, or wondering whether sleeping with someone will change how they feel about you, this episode will help you approach sex and dating with more confidence and far less fear. This post officially kicks off my Venice Immersive 2025 coverage, see links to all 38 episodes and 30+ hours of interviews down below. We're starting off with the interview that I did with Doug Liman (co-founder of 30 Ninjas), Julina Tatlock (co-founder of 30 Ninjas), & Jed Weintrob (co-founder of 30 Ninjas), & Max Spear (Product Lead of Android XR at Google) about Asteroid on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Venice Immersive in Venice, Italy. Here is the story synopsis for Asteroid: "Asteroid is an immersive film and interactive story extension made for the launch of Google's new Android XR platform. The 180° immersive short film is a high-stakes action thriller about a group of strangers who take an old Russian Soyuz rocket to mine a near-earth, treasure laden asteroid for a chance at unimaginable wealth. After the film, the experience continues and the audience enters the world of Asteroid when they receive an SOS from one of the characters, DK Metcalf, who was left for dead. The viewer becomes a player when they are invited to aid in DK's rescue. Through speaking with an AI-generated version of DK — played by the NFL player as himself — the user determines the truth about what happened on the asteroid and sends his exact location to NASA for rescue." Here are the contextual domains that are explored: Long distance travel [9] where someone is left behind (de facto exile) [12], and there is a rescue mission where you as a character [1] help out the protagonist [7] in the second half, but also a lot of mystery [12] to figure out and investigate [9] Here is the Elemental Center of Gravity: 1st Center of Gravity of Emotional Presence: cinematic Virtual Reality thriller that begins as a film and continues as an immersive story game. Combination of live-action 180-video along with CGI-driven animations also in 180-video2nd Center of Gravity of Earth Element / Environmental and Embodied Presence: Worldbuilding of sci-fi extraction of asteroid, you embody a character in story in the last part, and you break the fourth wall in the onboarding talking to the actor who plays a character via AI3rd Center of Gravity of Air Element / Mental and Social Presence: Conversational-driven AI Story Extension - You talk to the actor DK Metcalf at the beginning and with the character at the end. A bit of puzzling together of the myserious aspects of the story4th Center of Gravity of Fire Element / Active Presence: continues as an immersive story game - Improv convo + slightly nudged and directed exploration Archetypal Themes and Character Explored: Everyone are anti-heroes archetypes - Power and Greed vs Limitations, constraints, boundaries, death. Doug Liman says there aren't many anti-heroes in space movies, Han Solo is an exception. What if all of the characters were Han Solos? What drama would ensue? Artist Statement: "I've always thought of myself as an immersive filmmaker. The goal was to put the audience in the action, not to be sort of passively watching it. Now that the technology has caught up with us, I really can put the audience in the rocket. Asteroid is the story of a ragtag group of astronauts who booked a ride on a used Soyuz spacecraft. An asteroid passes near Earth. It's laden with precious metals and gems. If you can get there, you can become insanely wealthy. It's a modern gold rush." Music: Fatality

In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, brought to you by LMNT, we are joined by Tina Currin, aka Cash Money, a Triple Crown thru-hiker, Andrew Skurka guide, park ranger, wilderness EMT, and Guinness World Record holder.  In this one, Tina explains how she set the world record for most air horns blown simultaneously outside the North Carolina governor's mansion, details how she bought her Colorado house sight-unseen off Zillow during a zero day on the CDT while soaking her feet in a trash can, and she recounts getting separated from her husband in a snowstorm on the CDT, where both of them hit their SOS buttons convinced the other was dead. We also cover her Denali expedition, where she summited on day 22 with the final morsels of her food supply, after multiple deaths near her camp, why she thinks the PCT is boring, and how she landed her trail name after wielding a fat wad of singles at a trail magic session on the AT. We wrap the show with the details of the upcoming Backpacker Radio Hiker Meetup in Seattle, a rundown of 20 strange things thru-hiking does to your body, ranking the AT, PCT, and CDT from best to worst- according to triple crowners, a debate over a life rewind button vs. a life pause button, a mailbag about taser-equipped trekking poles, and the triple crown of shitty beers.
