What do Trump's executive orders do, and how do we fight them? On his first day in office as the 47th president of the United States, President Trump signed a slew of executive orders (EOs) that impact the LGBTQ+ community, as well as many others. It is important to note that executive actions do NOT have the authority to override the United States Constitution, federal statutes, or established legal precedent. Many of these directives do just that or are regarding matters over which the president does not have control. Given that, many of these orders will be difficult, if not impossible, to implement, and efforts to do so will be challenged through litigation. Currently, much is unknown about whether or how the administration or other actors will comply with these directives, and in most instances, rules will need to be promulgated, or significant administrative guidance will need to be issued in order for implementation to occur. These are processes that take time and require detailed additional plans to be developed. Today we talk to our friends Brandon Wolf, National Press Secretary of the Human Rights Campaign and journalist Christopher Kane. We will discuss the specific anti-LGBTQ orders, what they mean, and how we collectively and individually can fight them. With co-host Brody Levesque

Donald Trump is back. In January, he will asend to office again after running a very anti-"woke" campaign often scapegoating transgender Americans. Hundreds of horrible homophobic and transphobic bills passed in state houses may work their way to the federal level. And then there is Project 2025. Today we talk to two of our friends who have their fingers on the pulse of LGBTQ activism to find out the path forward for very concerned queer citizens: Brandon Wolf and Christopher Kane. Brandon is the National Press Secretary and Senior Director of Political Communications for the Human Rights Campaign. He is a nationally-recognized gun safety and LGBTQ civil rights advocate, author and dynamic public speaker. He has served as the Press Secretary for Equality Florida, the state's LGBTQ civil rights organization. Brandon also co-founded the Dru Project, a nonprofit organization that works to empower youth and provide future leaders in the LGBTQ community funding for higher education. Christopher is the White House correspondent for The Washington Blade. Also having reported for the LA Blade, Chris is a longtime Washington DC-based reporter covering the White House, having previously covered the Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission's investigations of major mergers and acquisitions - along with antitrust policy development by federal agencies and US Congress, high stakes "bet-the-company" litigation, and certain activities by the FDA and US Patent and Trademark Office.

Ho aspettato fin troppo. Ne avevo veramente bisogno. Mia moglie mi chiese: e adesso cosa farai?». What else?

Washington Blade Editor, Kevin Naff is known for best-in-class journalism and coverage of LGBTQ people and issues. He has been with the Blade since 2002, when he took the helm of the nation's oldest LGBTQ news organization. Previous to that, he spent four years at The Baltimore Sun, helping launch the paper's web site in 1996. He has worked as a financial reporter for Reuters, edited a national business trade journal and spent a year in the communications office of a U.S. senator. He graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and holds a master's certificate in public policy. He has written a poignant memoir leveraging his birds-eye view of LGBTQ history through the marriage equality, hate crimes legislation, and defeat of DADT fights. The memoir is boldly titled "How We Won the War for LGBTQ Equality", but its subtitle is the one to which we all need to pay attention: "And How Our Enemies Could Take it All Away". Fear not, this is no dry telling of gay history, however. While unlike the bestseller Spare , there were no penises frozen in the writing of How We Won, but there is still plenty of "T". From the outing of a prominent Fox News Host, to frantically crawling under tables at the Washington Correspondents Dinner with Laverne Cox looking for diamonds --there are stories to talk about! The InterPride podcast series, InterPod, where the world comes together for the LGBTQIA+ community, is proud to launch our 28th episode, The World Cup, Qatar, and LGBTQIA+ Rights. The LGBTQIA+ community has come a long way in the fight for acceptance. However, our voices matter and will be heard. Many LGBTQIA+ community members have fought for decades for the right to be seen and heard. About Episode 28 In this episode, we discuss The World Cup, Qatar, and LGBTQIA+ Rights with Dr. Nas Mohamed (they/them). FIFA will bring the World Cup to Qatar, attracting millions of fans from around the world. Leaders and corporations have vowed that LGBTQIA+ people are welcomed and will be safe in the country, despite lacking legal protections for LGBTQIA+ people. About Dr. Nas Mohamed (they/them) Since coming out, Dr. Nas has been involved with a very extensive international campaign. He is connected to the larger LGBT community in Qatar and has been working with Amnesty International, the human rights watch, and the international lesbian and gay association to get some accurate reflections and reports on country conditions for LGBT Qataris. This is time sensitive because this is the first time LGBT rights in Qatar are being discussed and there are no reports of what has been happening on the grounds. Qatar's PR and marketing are projecting a tolerant approach, which is quite different from the reality on the ground. There are plans to retaliate post the World Cup locally and support is needed. Dr. Nas is opening the first nonprofit organization, Alwan Foundation, to keep advocating for the cause. Follow Dr. Nas on Instagram | Facebook | Twitter Listen in as we hear from Dr. Nas Mohamed! After his death, they were adamant that an intruder must have entered the home. But, as details came out about the evening and the scene of the crime, they painted an incredibly bizarre scene. Hello! Welcome to Q4Q, a podcast where I read old personal ads with one of my friends. This episode I have with me one of my good friends and queer historians, Kai. Kai and I sift through one of my favorite websites--the Washington Blade archive on DigDC--hosted by the D.C. Public Library. With just a D.C. library card, we can access hundreds of copies of the LGBTQ newspaper, which ran from 1969 into today. So, our location is D.C., but our theme is “lesbians.” We're talking about U-Haul driving, Melissa Etheridge-listening, women who love women who aren't content with just making eyes at a girl from across the bar. “Lucy Thinks Ricky Is Trying to Murder Her” (November 5, 1951) Can we do a whole 52-minute episode that is essentially about one single joke? Hell yes we can. The fourth episode of I Love Lucy sure seems like it might feature the first gay joke in the history of sitcoms. And although we are open to arguments otherwise, it’s nonetheless interesting to think that the show that wouldn’t allow its married leads to share a bed onscreen would slip even a small gay joke past the network censors. It's summertime, but school is in session with today's panel, folks! Last week, the Supreme Court handed down a historic ruling on Title VII, which now provides employment protections to LGBTQ+ people. But what does that actually mean? That's the focus of today's panel featuring Joshua Matz, Partner at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLC, Adjunct Professor at Georgetown Law School, Rev. Irene Monroe, Educator, Host of All Rev'd Up on WGBH in Boston, and Rick Rosendall, Columnist at the Washington Blade. Joshua Matz wrote a legal brief, along with Professor Larry Tribe of Harvard Law School, where they argued that this case is actually simple if you apply the plain text of the Civil Rights Act directly to the facts of the case, as you'll inevitably reach the conclusion--and that they did. Though the ruling is a huge step forward, the panelists agree this is one small piece of a larger push for equality. And as Rev. Irene Monroe points out, the fight for LGBTQ+ liberation must work harder to center People of Color.Executive Producer: Adell ColemanProducer: Brittany TempleDistributor: DCP EntertainmentFor additional content: makeitplain.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
In 1991, after spending a great amount of time on the Midway ship during his Naval career, Naval Petty Officer Allen Schindler, was miserable after being transferred to the assault ship Belleau Wood. And what made matters worse, after some fellow sailors found out about Allen's sexual orientation, things went downhill for him even further. But what almost no one saw coming, was the tragic event that occurred on October 27, 1992 near Belleau Wood. And the event was so gruesome, it made lawmakers and the military rethink their policies in the years afterwards. 90s Crime Time Official Website-https://www.90scrimetime.com/How do you like the show so far? National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed for The Washington Blade by Joe Crea on December 12, 2003, for an article, published on December 26, 2003, titled, "Polygamy advocates buoyed by gay court wins (Some see sodomy, marriage opinions as helping their cause)." That year, the US Supreme Court had decided the Lawrence v. Texas case, and the Massachusetts State Superme Court had decided the Goodridge (et al.) v. Department of Public Health case. This newspaper is reported to be the the oldest LGBT newspaper in the United States., and the reporter wanted to find out about and report on the pre-polygamy reaction to these court cases. The resulting article from this interview was cited by various anti-polygamists, including by the "Family Research Council" (FRC) more than a decade after the article was published. (The FRC is a Christian political organization that has always been too timid to speak directly with Mark Henkel, but has referenced his work various times. ) Mark Henkel presented the Christian & Conservative arguments, the differences between Christian Polygamy and Mormon Polygamy, and the applicability of the Court cases to UCAP Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, all while knowing that he was speaking to an LGBT audience in that time of 2003. This interview shows how the formal Polygamy Rights Win-Win Solution would simultaneously protect the rights all sides of the debate for same sex marriage. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

Today , influential anti-LGBTQ leaders met in Washington DC, at the Museum of the Bible, as part of a 5-day International Religious Freedom Ministerial. Their focus was attacking LGBTQ kids and family rights under the guise of exercising what they called “parental rights.” Their strategies include support of ex-gay conversion therapy and opposition to same-sex marriage while challenging the practice of offering affirming healthcare for, especially, trans and non-binary youth. Speakers included Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, faith advisor to President Trump, and commissioner nominated by Senator Mitch McConnell to the State Department's United States Commission on International Religious Freedom. But our guest, journalist Christopher Kane, was there taking notes for a full report. Tonight we have him exclusively, letting you know the plans of the Religiously Repressive Right even before their minions know themselves. Featuring panelist Brody Levesque.

At his wit’s end and Ken’s insistence, he sees a doctor who’s stumped andrefers the couple to a specialist. To everyone’s amazement, Greg is pregnant.Shock, stress, and fear settle in, and Greg’s relationship gets put to theultimate test.Co-starring Chris Salvatore (Eating Out: All You Can Eat, Drama Camp, TheOpen Weekend), Paternity Leave poses a modern answer to the age oldquestion: “Are we ready to be parents?”About the Production“What Paternity Leave does,” co-writer Dustin Tittle explains, “is co-opt thetraditional family and some of its roles. There’s a total blurring of the linesand it’s easy to forget it’s about two men – it’s about two people.”“When I first read the script, I laughed so much,” actor Charlie David recalls.“It’s such a wild and fun concept… Obviously, we live in a world where theidea of having babies isn’t out of the norm – but two dudes doing it is veryout of the norm.
