Ask ChatGPT for the best mobile puzzle game and it does not say Candy Crush. It says Monument Valley, a game from 2014 that is not on any top grossing chart.Kalie Moore has spent the last year working out why, and this is the version a game studio can act on.I keep getting the same question from studios: how do you get found now that players ask an AI instead of searching. So I asked someone who does it for a living.Kalie Moore runs High Vibe PR, a boutique PR agency for gaming, AI and frontier tech companies, with offices in the USA, Europe and Asia. Clients include Pocket Worlds, the publisher of Highrise, and Overwolf, who she has worked with for six years. She also started PRCoverage.AI, a PR reporting platform she built the first version of herself after a dev shop quoted her $60,000 to $80,000 for an MVP, and then brought on a co-founder and CTO to make it something other agencies could use. In this conversation she walks through the work, the data, and the parts she says she cannot prove yet.Generative engine optimization, or GEO, is the practice of getting a brand named in AI answers, the way SEO gets you ranked in search results. For a game studio that means tracking which games and studios ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews name for a given prompt, then building the earned media those answers are assembled from.WHAT YOU GETHow game studios actually get recommended by ChatGPT, and why app store rank and AI recommendations measure two different things. When Kalie checked, Monument Valley sat at number 11 on US App Store paid and neither it nor the sequel appeared on free downloads or top grossing, and ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity all still named it first.Which sources AI engines actually cite for games. On the prompt she tested, 18 of ChatGPT's 24 cited sources were best-of listicles, 5 were Wikipedia and 1 was Reddit. Gemini used four sources for its whole answer, one of which was the game publisher's own blog.How Pocket Worlds' Highrise took 10 of 12 target prompts off Roblox in the US, including best mobile virtual world, and the earned media base that made it possible in a month rather than a year.Why you do not need IGN. Niche genre roundups, a publisher blog and creator videos all get cited, and for cozy games a single 500,000 subscriber YouTuber outweighs the games press.Whether ranking in AI actually converts to players. Kalie is direct that she cannot yet tie an AI ranking to paid users. What she can cite: AI platforms pulling 9.5 billion visits a month globally, up 70% year over year while Google search stays flat, AI's top pick becoming the user's pick in 74% of cases, and 88% of people accepting the shortlist without a second prompt.How fast a citation source can disappear. Reddit accounted for close to 4% of ChatGPT's search citations until 14 August, when PromptWatch measured an 86% drop.How a boutique PR agency ended up shipping software, and the one job Kalie will not let AI near: executive positioning. Michael M and Andy get together while Michael R is away, starting and ending the episode with some classic lines from stage and screen.  Michael M is freshly back from seeing the Cape Playhouse's rendition of Mean Girls, which was such a delight.   Turning then to AI – the cohosts start off with a story about making podcasts searchable and usable by AI agents.  This reminds Andy of Particle, an app that both he and Michael use occasionally to review the news.  Next, they both use the Cringebot 3000 to make up some LinkedIn posts. Then, a series of hacks – beginning with a super fun one, the Apple Mactini, not to be confused with Dr. Dorian from Scrubs favorite drink – the appletini.  The Mactini is not a watered down cocktail, rather it is a one button computer that Tucker Osman made based on the spoof of an Apple TV commercial from 20 years ago, and that remained true to the spoof in it's function.  The Onion made a spoof of a click wheel (from the iPod) Mac in 2009 – and you can see that video in in the notes below.  After checking out a number of LEGO gaming PCs, Andy shares the story of the eenk firmware for Xteink devices to create the choose your own adventure games we've been sharing on the podcast recently. Longtime listeners will know that the Games at Work team collects Doom stories, and for this episode, there are a couple of new examples.  There's a story about Doom running on the EMFCamp Tildagon Badge, a mod called Mr. Friendly whose objective is to help the monsters recover from the latest space marine rampage, and an article about Anthropic's Claude playing the game. Em São Tomé e príncipe, o vice-presidente do tribunal Constitucional, Jonas Gentil, apresentou  junto do Ministério Público uma queixa formal contra o Presidente da instituição, Arthur Vera Cruz. O motivo não foi revelado mas já são públicos os desentendimentos internos sobre a tomada de decisões e a forma de agir do tribunal. O analista político são-tomense Abílio Neto analisa o caso e considera que Jonas Gentil, ao formalizar o descontentamento através de uma queixa, "fez um favor ao país".  Os tribunais em São Tomé e Príncipe encontram-se num imbróglio a tomar proporções cada vez maiores. O Supremo Tribunal (ST) e o Tribunal Constitucional (TC) não se entendem sobre a aplicação da lei e as decisões de um não são respeitadas pelo outro.  Este desentendimento entre os dois tribunais fez-se claro em relação ao caso de Ignácio Purcell Mena, cidadão chileno e antigo conselheiro do Primeiro-ministro Américo Ramos. O Tribunal Constitucional determinou a sua libertação, mas o Supremo Tribunal recusou acatar a decisão do Constitucional. Recentemente, abriu-se um novo capítulo, desta vez interno ao Tribunal Constitucional. O vice-presidente desta instituição, Jonas Gentil, apresentou uma queixa formal junto do Ministério Público, contra a presidência do tribunal. O que o motivou o juiz conselheiro a tomar esta decisão ?  Abílio Neto: É difícil compreender o que está especificamente por trás desta queixa. Mas podemos intuir, considerando o que tem vindo a acontecer no Tribunal Constitucional nos últimos tempos, podemos intuir o que o motivou. Até porque grande parte dos acórdãos que têm saído do Tribunal Constitucional não têm sido assinados por Jonas Gentil. Isto revela que qualquer coisa de estranho se passa dentro do Constitucional. Tudo tem que ver com decisões questionáveis, decisões orientadas políticamente, com desorientação técnica, até com uma espécie de desorientação de personalidade. Tudo isto está a acontecer no Tribunal Constitucional de São Tomé e Príncipe e nós estamos a ver que o que está aqui em causa, fundamentalmente, tem que ver com uma série de decisões, diria eu, ilegítimas, que terão levado um dos juízes a tornar público o seu desagrado com a forma como o tribunal tem vindo a ser dirigido. RFI: Quando Jonas Gentil não assina os decretos do seu próprio tribunal, ele fá-lo para vincar o seu desagrado, a sua discordância com a actuação do Tribunal Constitucional? Abílio Neto: Sim, naturalmente, ele dá nota de que a disfuncionalidade é de tal forma grande que é impossível sequer colaborar de forma racional. São decisões profundamente irracionais e algumas delas são fáceis de identificar. RFI: Como quais por exemplo? Abílio Neto: O facto por exemplo de o tribunal voltar, novamente, ao caso Rosema para desfazer a decisão e voltar a entregar a posse ou a propriedade a outros. A forma como o Tribunal Constitucional tem estado a lidar com a legalização dos novos partidos políticos, com uma falta de postura ética e até diria moral e patriótica, que ofende as pessoas com as que são dadas a ohar para o tribunal e a forma como está a trabalhar. A questão da detenção do cidadão chileno, igualmente, que está a ser reivindicado pela justiça espanhola [e que o Tribunal Constitucional pretende soltar]. Portanto, eu entendo essa reacção do juiz Conselheiro Jorge Gentil como uma espécie de tentativa de dar um murro na mesa para que se desperte da situação lamentável em que se encontra a disfuncionalidade do Tribunal Constitucional.  RFI: Como é que os são-tomenses olham para isto tudo, e mais especificamente para esta queixa apresentada pelo vice-presidente do Constitucional, Jonas Gentil? Abílio Neto: Há três abordagens. A primeira abordagem tem a ver com a forma como entendemos o país: uma forma extraordinariamente politizada e partidarizada. Entende-se que as decisões são sempre tomadas no sentido de favorecer o poder do momento. A segunda ideia é a noção clara do que o que está efectivamente em causa é o Estado de direito, e até mesmo um ataque feroz à Constituição da República. A sociedade civil está subjugada ao jogo de interesses que existe no país. Um jogo de interesses partidariamente estabelecido. Repare que há sempre um investidor ou alguém que aparece em São Tomé e Príncipe sem se saber de onde vem, donde vem o seu capital, mas que se faz conselheiro do primeiro ministro, do Presidente da Assembleia, do Presidente da República, etc. Há sempre problemas de tentativa de destruição do próprio país para manter uma espécie de status quo, que vive na base da dependência desses interesses. Logo aqui, há um terceiro elemento, que é o povo a olhar para isso e a tentar perceber como é que vai votar nas próximas eleições legislativas de 27 de setembro. Esse é o drama, essa é a nossa tragédia. Como é que um cidadão normal pondera votar em partidos que estão, todos eles, envolvidos nesta espécie de caixote do lixo em que se transformou a política são-tomense?

And for the bad news, Wonder Man will not get a season two after all - even though it was confirmed earlier this year - and both Kevin Feige and Maershala Ali expressed regret about the Blade film; with Feige admitting he feels like a failure for not getting it off the ground and Ali saying he's done with the project. Last week, DC Studios and HBO's Booster Gold series writer David Jenkins said that the project is no longer moving forward. Shortly after he made this statement, IGN reported that the series will, in fact, be moving forward, but with a new creative team. The economics behind the most popular video games are, in a word, staggering. Case in point: Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated to be released later this year, and according to IGN, it made $260 MILLION dollars during the first week of pre-orders. Some analysts estimate that the game could rake in about 5 BILLION dollars during its launch week. But don’t expect to have a hard copy to cherish for your collection – developer Rockstar Games announced last month that GTA 6 will only be available to download. Industry giant Sony says it too will soon be ditching discs. The company said earlier this month that it plans to discontinue physical game disc production for new PlayStation games starting in 2028. Sony says it’s reflecting a broader shift in consumer preference toward digital downloads. And this shift has consequences for local small businesses: With no discs to sell and trade, stores, especially ones that sell used games, will reap less revenue. Adam David owns Big Red’s Retro Games in Silverdale. He says he’s not surprised by these decisions: “Your newer, younger consumer doesn’t care about a physical disc. Your next generation of game players, they've grown up on digital, and at the same time they're too young to see the ramifications down the road of having just a digital library and the fact that, you know, it can be taken away from you” What are the ramifications and ripple effects when an industry changes the way we buy its products? Sony earlier this month announced plans to end physical game disc production for all new games released on PlayStation consoles beginning January 2028. The consumer electronics giant has already started the transition.According to an ORF Salzburg report spotted by The Verge, Sony's disc plant outside of Salzburg, Austria currently makes 600,000 discs every day. But that figure will soon drop significantly. Dietmar Tanzer, head of Sony's Digital Audio Disc Corporation, said PlayStation discs account for 50% of the plant's daily volume. He estimated that disc production in 2028 will be at about 10% of where it is today.The good news is that the 300 workers at the plant won't be laid off once the PlayStation discs stop rolling off the line. Instead, the facility is transitioning to manufacturing optical microlenses, and it's already invested 30 million Euros in the equipment needed to produce them. As the report points out, some employees have switched over from disc production, and Sony plans to retrain staff “on a large scale” before launching mass production of optical microlenses as early as 2027.The bad news is that PlayStation users will no longer have a physical copy of purchased games, a change that's sparked outrage in the gaming community. Filho de argentinos, ele nasceu em Buenos Aires mas se mudou para o Rio de Janeiro ainda bebê. Aprendeu a andar de bicicleta bem cedo e nas viagens frequentes a Búzios com a família, costumava remar ou tentava velejar. Sua mãe era antropóloga, historiadora e mantinha um laboratório fotográfico em casa. Ainda criança, assistia às revelações de fotografias em preto e branco e fez suas primeiras fotos durante shows e atividades do dia a dia. Já morando em Sao Paulo, na adolescência passou a fotografar os amigos andando de skate. Sua primeira imagem publicada saiu na revista Yeah Skate. Mais tarde, ingressou no curso de Biologia da USP, mas interrompeu a graduação quando se mudou para os Estados Unidos. Durante os dois anos em que viveu por lá, adquiriu seus primeiros equipamentos profissionais, cobriu o Campeonato Mundial de Balonismo no Novo México, e começou a enviar fotografias para publicações brasileiras. De volta ao Brasil, participou da cobertura do Rock in Rio II. Uma das imagens produzidas durante o evento foi publicada na capa da revista Trip. A partir daí, passou a colaborar com diferentes veículos editoriais e direcionou seu trabalho para esportes, viagens, aventura e comportamento. Em 1995 e 1997, acompanhou uma equipe brasileira na Race Across America. Em 1998, cobriu uma das maiores corridas de aventura do mundo, o Raid Gauloises e o primeiro evento da modalidade no Brasil, a EMA. Ao longo dos anos seguintes, documentou campeonatos mundiais de triathlon, provas de corrida de aventura, mountain bike, rafting, dezenas de edições do Ironman Brasil e diversos outros eventos esportivos no Brasil e no exterior. Paralelamente ao trabalho editorial, realizou expedições próprias. Pedalou pelo Salar de Uyuni, desceu a Estrada da Morte na Bolívia, remou no Alasca, cruzou dunas do Saara em uma expedição de sandboard, participou de campanhas da Sea Shepherd na Antártida e no Canadá e realizou travessias de bicicleta e caiaque em diferentes regiões do continente americano. Ao longo de mais de três décadas de carreira, teve trabalhos publicados em jornais, revistas e livros no Brasil e no exterior. Expôs em cidades como Berlim, Innsbruck, Florença e Filadélfia. É autor dos livros Cruzando a América em Duas Rodas e Imagens de Uma Expedição, além de coautor de Graffiti Brasil.
