Always a thrill to talk to a legend like Alice Cooper! People always say don't meet you heroes. I can assure you that Alice break that rule. Great guy! I started by asking him about the return of guitarist Nita Strauss. He said there's always a "Revolving door policy" when it comes to members of his band. "I think she missed the excitement of an Alice Cooper show." He also spoke to working again with Kane Roberts.  As far as the album "Road" is concerned, he said he really wanted to show off the band. He talked about the live sound of the record. "I want it to sound like a band." He mentioned that after "Detroit Stories", he said he thought his band deserved to be totally involved in the record. He told me about brining in outside musicians, like Tom Morello, Roger Glover and other's. He calls it a "Musical Fraternity". He said he still loves the road. "I'm a road rat." He went onto say "There's no retirement plan in me at all." According to Alice, the next record is almost done.  As far as his favorite Detroit memories, he brought up baseball legend Al Kaline. He called him his hero. White Castle, Vernors and "Soupy" Sales were mentioned. He spoke to some of the classic music venues and more. "Detroit was the absolute capitol of Rock N' Roll." As for the signing at Rock City Music Company, he said he only signs records in Detroit.  Up next, it's ex Saliva drummer Paul Crosby. He's in a band called Coldwards with two of his sons. The new single is called Bad News. He tells me about the process of writing songs with his kids, and more. He says they'll be dropping songs here and there, including a song about the late Saliva guitarist, Wayne Swinny.  He did tell me about the passing of Wayne. He spoke to how underrated Wayne was, and what a guitar hero he was. He called him humble, said he'd give the shirt off his back to anyone. We talked a lot about Wayne, and some of the highlights of his time in Saliva. One of them included a couple WWE stints.  Former Saliva singer, Josie Scott is out on tour as well. I asked Paul about that and if he'd ever play with him again. "If he ever asked me to play some shows, of course I would." He went onto say "I talk to him all the time....we're still best friends." Episode 40 went out live on 6 Oct 2022 at 19h00 on rebel Rock radio.  We kicked off with The Who and 'I'm Free' which was fitting seeing as I have just finished nearly three years of study and now have a lot more time to dedicate to The Story of Rock and Roll.  It was a pretty laid-back start by TSORR standards featuring stuff by John Cougar, Black Stone Cherry, and Jimmy Barnes.  The pace picked up with Motörhead and when we went to Germany to visit Rammstein and Scorpions with ‘Zwitter' and ‘Wild Child' respectively.   The next part of the show covered some classic '70 and '80s stuff from Golden Earring and Pat Benetar.  Instead of KISS we took a listen to a Gene Simmons track called ‘Living in Sin.  We changed pace with some Billy Talent (no he is not singing “I gave my life to Satan” :-), listen carefully) and Matthew Good Band out of Canada.  From there a good dose of Serbian Metal from Claymorean and then my current favourite thrash band out of San Franciso, Hell Fire, by now no strangers to this radio show.  Check out their new album Reckoning.The Punk came courtesy of The Clash, Die Toten Hosen, and Rancid, Carnival in Rio (Punk Was) went down very, very well.  Pairing George Lynch and Jeff Beck back to back was a great idea, listen out for those solos on the Lynch Mob and Ozzy tracks.   We hit the final straight with some great new SA stuff, another band out of the Devo Oosthuizen stable, this week a band called Forth Son South, and then we had Code 106 from their Alium EP.  From there some Springbok Nude Girls and classic Fokofpolisiekar.  A highlight of the show was a quick little tribute to the amazing Eddie Van Halen who passed away 2 years ago to the day.  You'll always be special to me Eddie RIP and thank you for everything. The ending was also very cool, we went acoustic with Rush, off Rush in Rio, and a track called 'Resist' and then Live with ‘Overcome', recorded live in Amsterdam at the Paradiso.  we then finished off with a bit of Neil Young and out with Megadeth off the new album The Sick, The Dying.......and The Dead.   Artists featured:  The Who, Fozzy, Black Sabbath, Jimmy Barnes, John Cougar, Black Stone Cherry, Motörhead, Rammstein, Great White, Scorpions, Pat Benetar, Seether, Stone Sour, Gene Simmons, Golden Earring, Billy Talent, Matthew Good Band, Pixies, Claymorean, Hell Fire, Led Zeppelin, Nibs Van Der Spuy, Eddie Van Halen, Van Halen, Die Toten Hosen, The Clash, Rancid, Kid Rock, Lynch Mob, Ozzy Osbourne, Kane Roberts, Fourth Son South, Code 106, Springbok Nude Girls, Fokofpolisiekar, My Chemical Romance, Linkin park, Rush, Live, Neil Young, Asphyx, Megadeth

Episode 10, so we are 20% of the way through Season 5 and 2022.  The show aired on 10 Mar 2022 on Rebel Rock Radio.  It kicked off with what could possibly be one of the greatest show starting songs ever written, a track called 'Invincible', brand new from Eddie Vedder off his Earthling album.  It has an incredibly uplifting feel.  If I were a movie director I would be pulling it into my movie damn quick.  Anyway, that was the start and we followed up with an ode to the post-covid economy in the wake of the Ukrainian disaster called 'All Revved Up With No Place to Go' courtesy of Meatloaf.  From there we meandered through some early Queen to two great albums, Sixteen Stone.  and Throwing Copper, both released in 1994, by Bush and Live respectively.  A highlight was taking in a 60 min blast of energy from Arch Enemy.  The track is titled 'The Leader' (Of the Fucking Assholes) and was originally written by a band called Shitlickers out of Gothenburg in the '82 - '84 era.  I dedicated it to those who send troops into neighboring countries to kill civilians to fulfill their own worldview.  Rory Gallagher and Joe Bonamassa took care of the blues.  The Stranglers and Stiff Little Fingers did the same for UK Punk.  The SA stuff was handled by Blue Scream and The Burning and towards the end of the show Piet Botha with 'Van Tonder'.  The Blue Scream track is special as it features Roger Kaye who passed away in 2013 and was one of the finest musicians I ever met.  Roger was at school with me and had a huge influence on my musical journey.  You can find out more about him in my book The Story of Rock and Roll which is available on Amazon Kindle and in hard copy.  In order to build Roger's legacy, I post any episode of TSORR featuring him to the Roger Kaye Facebook community.We went heavy with Parkway Drive and Arch Enemy and then had a lekker mellow ending which was a bit different and pretty cool.  Hope you enjoy it, catch you next episode.  PS. Episode 8 aired on 24 February 2022 on Rebel Rock Radio, earlier that day Vladimir Putins troops marched into Ukraine.  The Doomsday clock is set at 100 seconds to midnight, 20 seconds worse than Iron Maidens apocalyptic 2 Minutes to Midnight.  It was difficult to put it to the back of mind.  We kicked off with Run Like Hell, off Pink Floyd's masterpiece the Wall.  From there we hit Metallica's Devils Dance.  It was impossible not to see the links to the world situation and song played, most of these songs were on the playlist days before this situation happened.The episode ended up a bit different, overall probably a heavier show than normal. Seguramente cuando muchos de vosotr/as esteis escuchando este programa la gente de NU ROCKS estaremos volando o habremos aterrizado en NOttingham para pasar ahí el fin de semana. Y no será un fin de semana normal. Allí pasaremos tres dias en el FIREFEST, festival de Rock Melódico, AOR y Hard Rock por antonomasia.
