This will go down as the most fun we have ever had in an interview, Ruyter Suys of Nashville Pussy is an absolute riot. We discuss their upcoming tour of Australia, wild rumours she's heard about herself, hanging out at The Rainbow Bar in Los Angeles, whether or not she's ever done a “Shoey”, farming?!?, life on the road and a bunch more. A super fun interview with a super fun lady! **Apologies to Ruyter for mispronouncing her name multiple times, even after being told how to say it correctly**
Mike Maglieri is the current owner of the famed Sunset Strip establishments, Rainbow Bar & Grill and Whiskey-A-Go-Go, all of which were started by his grandfather, the Godfather of the Sunset Strip, Mario Maglieri. These venues hosted some of the greatest musicians and performers in history, including Elton John, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Guns & Roses and too many more to count. The Sunset Strip remains at the center of the entertainment industry to this day and Mike, a BHHS graduate, carries on this legendary tradition just like his family has for the past 60 years.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/90who10/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Our friendship began at The Birmingham News in 2006. Craig was an early mentor to me & we trade stories about the newsroom days and personalities that roamed the old buildings. Jack also shares a deeply personal story that hopefully serves as a lesson to anyone listening.I connected via Zoom with the guys as they recorded from Peekskill Public House. Episode 40 is a Must Listen!Introducing Dede (Dana) Pagitt and Mia Dorr! Two Best Friends navigating life, friendship and a successful business together. These two are absolutely beautiful inside and out. They share how they met, maintaining their friendship while navigating business and the new/exciting events and shows they are currently working on.Mia Dorr is an energetic and passionate performer with an unparalleled diversity. Mia balances her powerhouse vocals with her whispers, allowing her to bring out the story of every song and draw in the audience with her dynamic performance and stage presence. Mia has been a singer in the Twin Cities music scene for over 20 years. She performs several times a week. She began performing for LGBTQ folks at the Over the Rainbow Bar in Downtown St. Paul in 1997. Since then, she and her team at Premier Entertainment have appeared regularly at a number of local venues in the Twin Cities. “Twenty years ago, I was a singer, and then the LGBTQ community welcomed me with open arms. That changed my life, and now I am an entertainer. These years have taught me how a chosen family comes together to support each other and rally together during times of adversity. I feel very fortunate to be able to perform as often as we do, and it's because of the people who spend their time at our shows, some on a weekly basis, and some once a month or so, who give us the opportunity to entertain and do what we love the most. The past 20+ years have been the blessing of my life, and I get weepy just thinking about it".DeDe "Dana" Pagitt, who is Mia's show producer and manager takes song requests during the Mia Dorr Show and banters with the audience. “The music at our shows is reflective of people who are in the audience. Mia was once referred to as ‘a passionate and energetic performer with a repertoire of unparalleled diversity.' I love this description, because it describes her so succinctly. Our favorite music is what moves audience members, either physically in their chairs or in the memories in their minds, or stirs them in their souls. Those are the best ones!”.We had an absolute BLAST getting to laugh and talk about real life with these two. Dede shares amazing wisdom and advice that she uses daily for her own personal growth. Her outlook and humor will have you on the edge of your seat wanting more while laughing and realizing not to take life so seriously. The love and support these two best friends and entrepreneurs show each other is powerful. They remind us that communication is key in every relationship first, it's never too late to start over however that looks for you and to follow your dreams no matter what.MiaDorrSinger.comSo grab your favorite drink of choice and join us in laughing, reflecting and learning!Stay Twisted Beautiful People
In this episode of Joculation, LP shares his unique brand of comedy and satire on the news and headlines which matter most. Lemmy Kilmeister is without a doubt one of the more memorable icons of the modern metal/punk genre. Between his regular seat at the Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip in California to his days cutting his teeth as part of the road crew for Jimi Hendrix – Lemmy was about as rock and roll as one could get. What is more punk rock about death than having your ashes encased in silver bullets that you will to your friends? In this episode, LP share the story of how Lemmy did just that and fucked up terribly by willing one bullet for Riki Rachtman. I know what you're saying - who? Exactly. With the holiday season clearly in the rear-view mirror, we really only have two things to look forward to: the return of stinging and biting insects and the made-up holiday to juice the sales of florists and stationery companies - Valentine's Day. This very forgettable “holiday” easily slips the mind while jammed up with income tax filings and credit card hangover from the holiday season. LP understands that panic driven VD brain fart and is here like a fat cupid in a Speedo with gift ideas to capture the essence of your love this cuffing season. I mean what says “love” more than a Motorbunny? Virtually every male performer that joins the Royal Ballet School dreams of starring in a rousing, memorable performance which evokes deep emotion from the audience and will immortalize them for the ages. Join LP in this episode as we follow one such performer as he takes his tights, his Viagra, his kitchen knives, and his dreams of fame to the streets of West London for his most memorable performance. I'm sure the CCTV video captures of today will be the NFTs for his OnlyFans page tomorrow. If you enjoyed listening to the show, please give it a five-star rating, a review, and please share with your friends. After a succesful U.S tour which took in places like the Viper Room, Whisky Au-Go-Go and the Rainbow Bar, Australian rock outfit Midnight Alibi should have been riding the euphoric success all the way back to Melbourne and into their next album cycle.Instead, as it did with the rest of the world, COVID interjected and threatened to derail the fast moving rock machine that was quickly gathering momentum.Rather than bemoan lost opportunities or sulk at what might have been, Midnight Alibi instead focussed their energies on the one thing they retained control over.A new album. That manifested itself with Higher Power, an album born of isolation but fuelled by determination.Recorded straight out of lockdown, Higher Power was released earlier this year, but such is the quality of the material on the record that Midnight Alibi are still releasing quality singles more than six months later. The most recent of which, "Where We Belong", was recently premiered via HEAVY with James Oswald joining us to talk about the song and other developments in the Midnight Alibi camp."With this album it was the first time we've had a release where we've been able to plan the whole album out," Oswald explained. "We've done EP's in the past and with them we ended up getting signed with Universal Music Australia at the time and they wanted an album so we compiled the two EP's together to release as an album. Even though it flowed really well it was all done by the same producer in the same studio. We weren't able to really plan the flow of the album the way the band would always want to do it. With this one, when the pandemic happened we just said what can we do? We got together when we could and started working on tracks and going for certain vibes and give a lot of space in the music and let things breathe a bit more and not try to go too hard. This new one "Where We Belong" has a cool vibe to it and at the end of the day is a good rock song."In the full interview James talks more about the new single, fleshes out the album more and what the band was going for with it, discusses touring the US and playing some iconic venues, getting back out on the road, future music and more.
Hollywood, CA rock outfit BUDDERSIDE share their latest single, “Too Far,” available today across all digital platforms. The track is taken from their upcoming summer 2022 record via one RPM and was recorded with producer Matt Good (Asking Alexandria, Hollywood Undead). The song gives a harrowing look into what can happen when people are pushed to the edge and things go ‘'too far.” Its music video, filmed at several iconic locations on the famed Sunset Strip including the Whisky a-Go-Go and The Rainbow Bar & Grill, premiered yesterday (12/2) via antiMusic. Directed by Vicente Cordero (Industrial Films LA), it shares a visually graphic dramatization tackling mental health issues and triggers. “We are all so close to the edge,” says vocalist Patrick Alan Stone. “Saying something kind could save a life. It's easy to be reckless, but what we do and say can push people too far. Hollywood is the city of dreams, where they are born and die every day. I've seen good people murder over infidelity. I've lost my sister and my two closest friends to suicide over broken hearts, others to overdose--all just trying to ease the pain of a cruel world.” “‘Too Far' is about the struggle I've gone through with depression and suicidal thoughts after being f*cked over by people around me. I took that depression and turned it into rage to create a song that strips away all of the b.s. It's a reminder to others to not push people too far, because they can snap and hurt themselves or even others. Just an honest cry for the world to do the right thing. If someone you know is in need of help, you're not alone. Call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline (1-800-273-8255) or 911, there is help.” This episode is proudly brought to you by: Audible's "I Am Mine Podcast": https://audible.com/Vedder Betterhelp : https://www.betterhelp.com/sipod for 10% off Mack Weldon: https://www.mackweldon.com/suckit Promo Code "SUCKIT" for 20% off! The Rider is a series of podcast and video interviews that get the gritty details from some of rock and roll's greatest. From the process of bringing an album to life, to the gigs, the parties and everything in between. Fans want to know the hard work that goes into bringing entertainment to the masses and how the rock stars manage it all. This podcast is an ode to the rider: the thing that gets musicians through the grind of a tour and the punishing schedule of late nights and red eye flights. Whether it's their favourite brand of whiskey, or sweet, mellow tunes to get an artist in the zone. Most of all, The Rider gives true fans access to the raw, unfiltered experience of loving rock and roll. Listeners will feel like they're knocking one back at the Rainbow Bar and Grill on Sunset Strip. Becko has been rocking on the airwaves since 1997. This podcast is his tribute to decades of interviewing rock and roll superstars from Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Angus Young, Gene Simmons, Billy Joe Armstrong, Kevin Parker and Mike Shinoda. His most recent stint with Triple M in Sydney, Australia over 13 years saw Becko conduct a number of exceptional interviews, including heading backstage in Santiago, Chile to interview Iron Maiden for the start of their Legacy of the Beast tour in 2019. (Remember when we could travel?) These interviews have struck a chord with listeners getting write ups in Rolling Stone, NME and local music press. These are interviews that gets people talking, gets the listeners plugged in and sheds new light on fan favourites.
This week I am joined once again by the magnetic Patti Johnsen in a discussion on what being a true groupie means. You may remember our previous interview with Patti Johnsen, alumni of the Rainbow Bar & Grill as well as the creator of the Groupie Round Table, or perhaps you remember her name from the fabulous chapter she has in Pamela Des Barres book Let's Spend the Night Together. We previously discussed her time touring with Van Halen, meeting George Harrison, her decade long job at the Rainbow, the formation of the Groupie Round Table and rock n roll "Holy Grails". This time around Patti and I discuss the term groupie, what it means to us and it's misconceptions. We also discuss rock n roll decadence, "Almost Famous" tour moments, her incredible friendship with Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, and what it's like to wake up next to Billy Idol! Patti is one of a kind, she is naturally beautiful inside and out and has the truest groupie soul. It's always such a pleasure to talk to a true groupie sister and I'm so happy she came on again to share more from her incredible past. Patti is also the speaker of one of my favourite interview quotes...."Just because you haven't fucked a rockstar doesn't mean you're not a groupie. A guitar, a Les Paul comes off the assembly line, it hasn't been played yet. Does it mean it's not a guitar? Of course it is! And you put that in the hands of a rockstar, you just wait to hear that fucker sing! You are still a groupie because once you get in the hands of a rockstar baby, wait to hear you sing.” If you haven't listened previously, you can listen to our first discussion back in Episode 108. You can also check out our 20 Questions blog post with Patti! You can follow Patti on instagram at @pattijohnsen as well as the Groupie Round Table on Facebook @groupieroundtable Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

THE BLOG OF ROCK - Das Hardrock & Heavy Metal Podcast MusikMagazin

Miley Cyrus and Yungblud were spotted together at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood on Thursday A source tells PEOPLE that Cyrus and Yungblud — whose real name is Dominic Harrison — are “just friends” and were spending time with a group of pals. RELATED: Miley Cyrus Remembers Hannah Montana on 15th Anniversary of Show's Premiere: ‘The Greatest Gift' Cyrus' outing with the British singer came about the same week that the singer celebrated the 15th anniversary of Hannah Montana and shared memories from her career-launching show. On Wednesday, Cyrus penned a love letter to her breakout character, who shot her to fame when the show made its debut on the Disney Channel in 2006. In the letter, Cyrus goes on to share her journey from singing “I Love Rock ‘N Roll” in a friend's Nashville kitchen to Hollywood — and the highs and lows that came along with it. She also thanked her family, both on-screen and off, including her dad and costar Billy Ray Cyrus , mom Tish , maternal grandmother Loretta and her siblings. “I experienced falling in love for the first time in those years. Embarrassingly started my period in a pair of white capris of course on the day a ‘cute guy' was cast + asked to have lunch with me. Instead I spent it in the bathroom with my mom sobbing + scrambling to find a pair of fresh denim,” Cyrus added. “I gained so many friends over the 6 years spent onset. Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso + Jason Earles became my family. I was seeing them more than my own. Well besides my dad who I drove to work with everyday until my mom let me buy a Prius. Which then I was only 15 with a permit so my co-pilot was my grandmother ‘Mammie' who ran my fan club MileyWorld out of the dressing room kitchen I shared with my dad.” From Publisher: PEOPLE.com In case you are keeping track: Miley Cyrus Releases ‘Angels Like You' During her roughly 90-minute pre-game concert — which included surprise appearances by Billy Idol and Joan Jett — Cyrus repeatedly thanked health care and frontline workers in the audience and watching at home for all they had done during the global pandemic. “All of us have a purpose,” she said at one point. ” My purpose is to sing on stage … but my purpose can never be achieved without you — you are essential.” Cyrus recently signed a new recording deal with Columbia Records after a three-album run on RCA Records; both labels are owned by Sony Music. A source close to the matter told Billboard that the signing came after Columbia chairman/CEO Ron Perry personally courted Cyrus, who released her well-received seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts, on RCA in November.

Phunky Friday on the Dr. Greenthumb Podcast, the team toasts some Mezcal and catch Steftone up on the shenanigans this week he missed on. E-Zone compares his dads "DrMargaritas" to some he has had out and about while B-Real asks them if they can handle spicy drinks and food. Eric Bobo, Cypress Hill percussionist, lets us know that you don't want to eat something thats going to have your "butthole talking" and he avoids anything lactose so he doesn't have "immediate churro". Dr. Greenthumb breaks down what "Jungle Juice" is at a house party in southern California and how it makes everyone belly up in the streets throwing up. The guys talk taking their drinking to their limits getting the spins, watery mouth and the moments you realize that you are about to throw up. Steftone back in the house reminds the podcast, that they have been practicing recreational smoking long before it was recreational. B-Real talks his first time hanging out legendary "Rainbow bar" in hollywood and the many famous faces he would come across. Since the first time they hung out and smoked, it became an 8 year tradition to go weekly and smoke at which was dubbed "Lil Amsterdam". On Fridays, B-Real and many friends would play dominoes and smoke the finest of OG's. The whole venue was very respectful but there was a common don't mess around when it came for the love the Rainbow bar, as Steftone describes, "everyone from all genres of music and lifestyles would join together at this spot." They would come together to protect that spot no matter what, the history of The Rainbow Bar on the sunset strip. The food is amazing there as well, as C-Minus recommends the Chinese chicken salad and Eric Bobo with his band member B-Real agreeing that the Pizza is amazing. C-Minus discusses a time he was coming out the famous venue, The Roxy, where he smelled some good weed and sure enough he came across B-Real and friends where he joined the guys. Only one time the Dr. recalls having to put down the weed because they were smoking multiple "blimp" sized joints and a cop asked friend Dr.K to put two of the three massive sized joints out and allowed them to keep one going. This was a time before recreational and having a doctors recommendation to be able to smoke weed let alone publicly. E-Zone remembers Cannabis events and seshes where everyone would get together to find the bestsellers in the game out there with the best products. Free dabs and edible samples were a favorite but thats where the guys practiced the roll your own and use your own rig rules before the cover situation was even going on. The Dr himself would pretend to have a little sickness to avoid letting anyone smoke out of his bong. Not the most sanitary practice that most likely wont return, some companies were using one device to give hundreds if not thousands of people a dab out the same rig. Steftone and E-Zone talk about how other people just destroy bathrooms at these events, where they couldn't even use some restrooms at public events. The Dr. recommends that you "flush out your system before you get to the club" and Bobo reminds the Insane Asylum that you have to take an express dump in those situations. Bobo has never had no toilet paper in his stall but he has missed a flight while on the toilet as he heard his flight last call and was unable to stop the "task" at hand. The table talks about whats going on in 2020 and how essential weed is at keeping people good during the tough times. Eric Bobo asks what it would have been like to have no weed during these times as well especially early into quarantine. The Dr. reminds us all that were able to keep cannabis businesses open as an essential business respectfully. There was a time where you couldn't quietly enjoy weed places as C-Minus brings up when he and the rest of the guys were younger, being hard to hide the smell as B-Real says too. The podcast concurs that no one feels apologetic for how loud their weed is for they are making the world better by sharing the plant. Bobo asks B-Real if there is a song he has written sober and the Dr. fills us in on that "Stoned is the way of the walk" ironically was the song he was inspired while sober riding the bus. Interesting fact, It's the only rhyme he wrote sober and memorized with out having to write on paper. The beat was found that same day by random which was meant for a different artist and was swooped up and turned into the classic song, long verse no chorus. The Doors to the Insane Asylum opened up to superchat questions as always! be sure to watch the full episode and leave a comment below! thank you Insane Asylum! join on discord. This fall, the city of West Hollywood gave landmark status to the Whisky a Go Go, the Roxy, and the Rainbow Bar and Grill. That status protects the venues from the aggressive development happening all around the area.
Today I sit down with Mikeal Maglieri owner of the historic Rainbow Bar and Grill and The Whisky a Go Go. For 3 generations the Maglieri Family has been rocking the Sunset Strip with their now Historic Landmark establishments. Mikeal and I talk all about the brand new documentary film "The Rainbow" which covers the history of both The Rainbow and The Whisky. We also talk about the legend himself Lemmy and how the Lemmy statue came together. Enjoy and spread the word. DDR

If Patti Johnsen's name sounds familiar it may be because you read her awesome chapter in Pamela Des Barres' book Lets Spend the Night Together. We knew right away we were talking to someone special, and cannot wait for you all to fall in love with Patti as we have! Patti recounts some awesome stories about meeting George Harrison, working at the legendary Rainbow Bar and Grill for nearly a decade, her fling with Billy Idol and her lasting friendship with Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. She also teaches us about rock n roll Holy Grails, her groupie round table and has some incredibly wise words for all us groupies out there, whether or not we have bedded a rockstar. “Just because you haven’t fucked a rockstar doesn’t mean you’re not a groupie. A guitar, a Les Paul comes off the assembly line, it hasn’t been played yet. Does it mean it’s not a guitar? Of course it is! And you put that in the hands of a rockstar, you just wait to hear that fucker sing! You are still a groupie because once you get in the hands of a rockstar baby, wait to hear you sing.” Make sure to follow Patti on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/pattijohnsen/ & Twitter at https://twitter.com/PattiJohnsen and check out the Groupie Round Table on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groupieroundtable For $20 off go to www.storyworth.com/muses when you subscribe!

Jules Muck began writing graffiti as a teen in Europe and England in the 90s. Back in NYC she worked under Lady Pink for many years. Muck bombed with Spek and Since and was painting highways and rooftops with BTC throughout the late nineties. Her first interview in 1999 was by Zephyr for While You Were Sleeping magazine. Smith took Muck into the NYC subway tunnels and the freight yards. Muck was christened into graffiti by some great early legends. She has been published in numerous books including Broken Windows, Burning New York, Ganz’s Graffiti Women and Cey Adams' The Art and Design of Hip Hop. Muck has had work in numerous collaborative projects such as the Wooster Collective, 11 Spring Street, and Hanksy’s Surplus Candy. Katon De Pena, singer of the legendary Hirax, is on the podcast to talk about taking care of your voice on tour, Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead, being in charge of the the Lemmy statue, DJing at The Rainbow Bar & … Continued The post Episode #123: Katon De Pena appeared first on Danko Jones.
The Wörld is Yours Tour. ... No tuve realmente una vida importante, pero al menos fue divertido UN PROGRAMA HECHO POR VOSOTROS DONDE DEJÁIS VUESTRO AUDIO ACERCA DE QUE FUE MÖTORHEAD EN TU VIDA.

Last week's conversation with original KISS road crew member, Peter "Moose" Oreckinto, was the fastest downloaded episode in Decibel Geek history. On top of that, it's elicited some of the best feedback we've ever had. This week we're proud to bring you another long-form discussion with Moose! In this week's episode, Moose returns to share more road stories from the early days of KISS as well as some memories of his return to the band in a management capacity on the Destroyer tour. First, some business to attend to: The interview clip that you hear at the beginning of the show of Peter Criss speaking of Moose is courtesy of Annika Sonic from The Sonic Boom LIVE show on 95.3 DNH in Honesdale, PA. Check out the show HERE As some of you may know, the original intention of this week's episode was to have an in-person discussion between Moose and Aaron Camaro. The conversation did take place, at The Rainbow Bar & Grill no less, but technical gremlins got hold of the file and the audio was lost. Luckily, Moose was nice enough to do part 2 through Skype. Moose showing Aaron whereKISS roadies were harassedin front of The Rainbow While at the legendary Rainbow, Aaron and Moose received some first class service and food from their waitress Julie and the staff there. So, this week's Geek(s) of the Week are the staff at The Rainbow Bar and Grill. Check out the Rainbow online HERE. We dive into the conversation discussing KISS' rehearsals and showcase at the famous Fillmore East in late December 1973 into early 1974. With Paul wearing the short-lived bandit makeup and the band using a short-lived spiderweb backdrop, it's an interesting moment in KISStory. We get Moose's memories of this time including a heated exchange between him and a Casablanca Records executive. In this discussion, you'll also get Moose's recollections of KISS' first trip out west to provide the entertainment for the Casablanca Records launch party at the Century Plaza Hotel as well as their television debut a few days later at the Aquarius Theater for Dick Clark's In Concert program. Speaking of television, we also get Moose's memories of the band's wild appearance on the Mike Douglas Show and how the low ceilings in the studio presented some problems for the band's pyrotechnics. Mike Douglas & Gene Simmons KISS' first appearance on June 1st, 1974 was a big moment on the band's climb up the ladder but money problems were plaguing the band and, especially, the crew. Moose shares his memories of the crew being stranded in San Francisco with no money for food or gas to get to the next show 1800 miles away in Minot, North Dakota. We also hear Moose's memories of returning to KISS after his injury to be the assistant road manager on the Destroyer tour and how it differed from his previous job working with the special effects. Some interesting takes on Ace and Peter from the road. 1976-77 Destroyer Tour Stage Set Other subjects touched on in this in-depth discussion include KISS' strange appearance at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska in front of a very shocked group of soldiers and their families, Moose's memories of Joyce Biawitz/Bogart, his time after KISS working with artists such as Angel and Alice Cooper, and how he met his wife (there IS a KISS connection). The book that has been referenced in this episode, and last week's, is the upcoming 'Nothin' to Lose: The Making of KISS (1972-1975)' in which Moose is quoted as well as 200 others that worked with/for the band during those formative years. This book was put together by the band and author Ken Sharp and is expected to be one of, if not the, best KISS-related book to be released. Pre-Order Nothin' to Lose HERE. Aaron Camaro & Mooseposing with the upcomingNothin' to Lose book. The Decibel Geek podcast thanks Peter "Moose" Oreckinto for his time and amazing stories on the early days of KISS. This will, no doubt, lead to more appearances in the future as we've really become close with Moose and look forward to more in the future. We wish him all the best in his personal ventures as well as for the success of the upcoming book.
