I'll be honest—I don't officially do web development anymore. But when a nonprofit asked for help, I thought I could knock out a simple WordPress portal in 25 hours using no-code tools like Zapier and Advanced Custom Fields. Boy, was I wrong. What started as a straightforward project quickly turned into a nightmare of under-scoping and tool limitations I never saw coming. Zapier didn't work with WordPress custom post types the way I expected. Advanced Custom Fields still requires custom coding for Gutenberg blocks after seven years. Google Sheets automation had quirks I'd never encountered. It was starting to look more like 60 hours, not 25.That's when I reluctantly turned to ChatGPT for help—and it completely saved my butt. Instead of writing custom code from scratch or going back to the client with double the budget, I started "vibe coding." I'd describe the problem, ChatGPT would write the solution, and we'd iterate together. It wrote nearly 2,000 lines of code for me, handled complex features I would've needed premium plugins for, and let me stay flexible when the client requested changes. The result? A 30-hour project instead of 60, a happy client, and a reminder that sometimes the tools we resist most can be the ones that save us.*Want 40+ automations plus my AI swipe files? A busy, news heavy show has hosts Kristine Schachinger and Jim Hedger cover three major stories, each of which could occupy a full hour long show. The WordPress mega-drama continues with the founder's faction at Automattic grabbing control of one of their rival WP-Engine's best known custom WP-Contributions, Advanced Custom Fields in a forking incident many think close to theft. Also this week, leading SEO and Digital Marketing Tool Maker, SEMrush acquired one of the industry's leading information resources when it purchased Third Door Media. Third Door publishes Search Engine Land and MarTech, and also organizes the Search Marketing Expo series of conferences. Meanwhile, Google is replacing it head of search, Prabhaker Raghaven with long time Google executive and Raghaven assistant Nick Fox who becomes head of Google's Knowledge and Information division. Bing is pulling back on several under used features shown on its search results page while both it and Google move to publish full recipes in search results, denying the original writer's a click. Over to our nuclear energy desk it seems that Amazon and Google are also entering the elite nuclear powered corporation category, joining Microsoft in making deals with commercial nuclear energy produces, developing their own small-scale nuclear generation capacities, or buying and refurbishing mothballed reactors such as the Three Mile Island plant. We also share a week's worth of Google information, updates, and explanations.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/webcology/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Coming up on the WP Minute!Help me with this quick survey to shape the future of WP Minute, plus more WordPress goodness, coming right up.It's time to take a quick survey. If you have less than 2 minutes to spare, could you head to thewpminute.com/survey and take my 3 question survey about this podcast? It's going to help shape the future of the content here — which I'll get into. As 2023 wound down, I promised myself to stay out of all of the polarizing issues that crop up throughout the community. To take less of a stand on reporting all of the WordPress news, and focusing on the content that is largely relevant to the careers of WordPress professionals. Perhaps you felt the same way? “Can we be done with WPDrama?” You might have asked yourself. I'm not really a hardcore goal tracking guy. I have the goals, I know where I want to go, but I largely leave it up to the creative process to get there. Maybe that's lazy of me? But I do have strong instincts when something isn't working, or just doesn't have that air tight feeling. Sometimes I can feel that in my content. Thus, it's time to really focus on what you want as my faithful WP Minute reader, listener, viewer — follower. If you'll allow me to say it again: If you have two minutes to spare, I'd love for you to take this survey which will help me and the team produce better content.Don't miss this WordPress contentI produced some podcasts, I appeared on podcast, and Eric Karkovack held an important interview. Don't miss my discussion with Cory Miller, where we dove deeper into the more complex issues in the community.I appeared on the WP Tonic to recap their interview with our benevolent dictator. The popular Advanced Custom Fields plugin is about to get some changes that you might need to prepare your sites for. 20 Years of WordPress: The Impact on Freelancers

The WP Minute

Play Episode Listen Later May 9, 2023 8:20

On May 27, 2023, WordPress will celebrate its 20th birthday. It's hard to fathom that the software has been around for so long. Yet some of us may struggle to remember what the web was like without it.Just think of the designers, developers, and users that have come along during these past two decades. A whole generation has had easy access to content management and nearly-endless customization. Lucky them!As a more experienced (ahem, old) freelancer, I can recall the challenge of building advanced websites pre-WordPress. Thus, I believe the software has been transformative. It has impacted virtually every aspect of a web designer's job.To celebrate this incredible milestone, let's take a look at what WordPress means to freelancers. We'll explore how its features and philosophy have empowered web professionals the world over.A Reliable Foundation for Any ProjectA typical WordPress project starts like this:Install WordPress.Add a theme and any necessary plugins.Optionally add custom code as needed.Add content.Launch! There's more to it – but you get the idea. The amazing part of this process is that it doesn't matter what type of website you are building. WordPress and its ecosystem make it possible. This wasn't always the case. Previously, content management systems (CMS) had been either built for niche usage or were severely limited in capability.Themes existed for some systems, but nowhere near the breadth of what we see today. And the same goes for plugins. For freelancers, this often meant scouring the web for a suitable solution. If you were a particularly gifted coder, you could build a tool from scratch. But either way, there were obstacles at every turn.WordPress brought a new level of flexibility to the masses. We may spend time picking out the perfect plugins. But the foundations of what we need are already there. This doesn't mean WordPress is the perfect fit for every project. But we can be confident that what we want to build is at least possible. That's a big deal.Plenty of Opportunities for MonetizationWhen you think about it, the concept behind WordPress is revolutionary. It's free, open-source software that can be used for any purpose. To put this into perspective: there's no separate license for commercial use. You don't need to buy anything. You don't even have to send co-founders Mike Little or Matt Mullenweg a “thank you” note. When I first started using WordPress, I was taken aback by this ethos. I was even a bit suspicious of it. Surely, they would pull the rug out from under us at some point? The software will inevitably cost money, right?Well, that hasn't happened. Quite the opposite. As people around the world have discovered, WordPress is a vehicle for making money.Freelancers can use it to build websites for clients – and charge whatever the market will allow. Developers can sell their creations as well. The past 20 years have seen the rise of a strong commercial plugin and theme market. And web hosts have tailored their services around it.This also means that starting a freelance web design business is incredibly affordable. Anyone willing to learn WordPress can begin serving clients with minimal (or even zero) monetary investment. It provides us with the opportunity to start small and evolve as needs change. How many other industries can say that?Advanced Features That Are Within Everyone's ReachWordPress helped to resurrect my career. I began using it regularly around 2010. And I was in a major rut at the time.My specialty had been hand-coded HTML and CSS. I still consider them essential skills. But I was limited in the type of websites I could build. Implementing advanced features seemed impossible.I wasn't sure where my business was going. Then I started experimenting with WordPress. In a way, it was like rediscovering my passion for web design. The software and its ecosystem allowed me to expand my capabilities. Complex functionality was no longer a pipe dream. I could enlist plugins like WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, and Advanced Custom Fields to help me build bigger and better.Suddenly, I didn't need to be a senior-level PHP or JavaScript developer. And I didn't need to turn down projects that seemed too dense. Plugins provided the main features I needed. From there, I could use the skills I had to add further customization. And my skill level also increased. Diving into more advanced projects made me curious. They put me on a path of learning that I still enjoy to this day. WordPress helped to make it possible.Part of WordPress' mission is to democratize publishing. But one can argue that it has done the same with design and development.A Community To Share Knowledge and KinshipAs software, WordPress is wonderful. But the community it inspired is even more amazing. It's something each of us benefit from. For freelancers, the WordPress community has been an invaluable resource. It has provided opportunities to connect, share, and grow. That's because community members are all-too-happy to share what they've learned. Whether it's a handy code snippet or business advice, there is so much knowledge out there. At our best, we genuinely enjoy lifting each other up. That's what makes events like WordCamps so powerful. But it's also something we see every day on social media and other platforms.Freelancing is often about individuality. We run our businesses in a way that best suits us. But the WordPress community helps to bring us together. Regardless of background, identity, or geography. For all of its faults, it's also worth remembering the good that this community has done. I think there are people from all corners of the globe that would agree. For Many Freelancers, WordPress Is a LifelineI don't have the statistics in front of me. Perhaps they don't exist. But it's safe to say that WordPress has had a major impact on freelancers. And 20 years has been a good long run. Should WordPress move away from Slack and towards the fediverse for project communication? Automattic-sponsored Meta team contributor Alex Kirk thinks so. Kirk has proposed a project to explore switching to the free Matrix open-source federated chat system. The potential benefits are compelling. For one, there's something to be said for open-source projects supporting each other. Beyond that, easier onboarding and a variety of available chat clients were also touted. https://youtu.be/dq23lJBYtpM Sarah Gooding of WP Tavern demonstrated some of these advantages in a recent article. And Kirk's team has also created a Gutenberg block, Chatrix, that embeds a Matrix chat client directly into any WordPress website.Slack, meanwhile, has long been the chosen platform for project communication. My Website Designing Toolbox - RD298

In episode 89 of Resourceful Designer, I discussed checklists and your design business. As a bonus to that episode, I offered my WordPress Website Setup Checklist. That was five years ago, and things have changed. In that time, I've grown and expanded as a web designer. The tools I use to create websites have also grown and expanded. Here is an up-to-date list of the tools I regularly use to design and build WordPress websites. Don't build in WordPress? Don't worry. I share a few things that may help you regardless of the platform where you design websites. Conceptualizing the website. Before I get down to designing and building a website, I want to know what I'm building. These are the tools that help me in the conceptual stage. Dynalist: Dynalist is a great outlining app that helps you get work done. I use Dynalist to outline the structure of every website I build. I like to know what pages a site will have and where they sit in the hierarchy. Dynalist helps me do this. Coolors.co Coolors.co is a super fast colour palette generator. I use it to choose colours for a website before the build starts. It's also convenient for finding great colours to go along with a client's existing brand colours. Setting up the website. SiteGround SiteGround I host all my and my client's websites at SiteGround. They're inexpensive, reliable, easy to work with and score well in web host comparisons. What more could a web designer ask for in a web host? Siteground has a very convenient one-click WordPress install feature that gets me up and designing quickly. Their installation registers me as the site admin using my email address instead of the default "Admin," usually generated by WordPress. If your web host doesn't have this feature, then I suggest the first thing you do upon installing WordPress is create a new Admin user and delete the default one named "Admin." During installations, Siteground installs two of its own plugins, SiteGround Optimizer and SiteGround Security. These are great plugins; however, I disable them until I finish building the site. Assets and tools I use on just about every website. Envato Elements Envato Elements is the first place I look for any stock images, icons or graphics I may need during a website build. Their low monthly subscription allows unlimited downloads, which comes in handy while experimenting. Depositphotos Depositphotos is another excellent resource for stock images and vector graphics. They're inexpensive, and their quality matches higher price stock image sites. Grammarly Grammarly ensures my website copy is error-free and written most effectively. I've been using it for years and won't compose anything without running it through Grammarly. Squoosh Squoosh.app is a handy website that does one thing very well, it optimizes images. Every image I upload to a website passes through Squoosh first. Screenflow Screenflow is only available on Mac (sorry, windows users). It's a screen recorder that makes it very easy to create tutorial videos explaining to clients how to use their new website. Screenflow is also a powerful video editor which I use any time I need to do minor edits to a video before uploading it to a website. Handbrake Handbrake is a free video conversion tool. It allows you to change the format of a video which is very useful in reducing a video's file size. Building the website. Divi Theme Divi by Elegant Themes is the world's most popular WordPress page builder and is trusted by hundreds of thousands of website creators. Divi takes WordPress to a new level by allowing you to build a website visually. With Divi, there's practically nothing you cannot create. Divi Marketplace The Divi Marketplace: is a one-stop shop for everything Divi, including layouts, child themes and extensions. If you need a website to do something special, chances are the solution can be found in the Divi Marketplace. Divi Booster Divi Booster allows you to customize Divi without adding extra code. This plugin adds 100s of new configuration options to Divi. Divi Express Divi Express is a vast library of Divi layouts, sections, headers & footers, sub-pages and more that you can import into your Divi website. Using Divi Express has drastically reduced my website design time. Divi Supreme Divi Supreme Is an All-in-One Divi Plugin that adds over 50 new Modules and eight extensions to Divi. Divi Supreme eliminates the need to customize things with a ton of CSS, saving you time. Divi Extended Divi Extended offers over 50 Divi Child Themes and 11 unique plugins. Their Divi Plus plugin adds over 50 new Modules to Divi. I love their Divi Blog Extra and Divi Blurb Extra plugins. Divi Life Divi Life also offers Layouts, Child Themes and Plugins. My favourite plugins from Divi Life are the Divi Overlays and Divi Bars plugins that I've used on several client websites. Divi Engine Divi Engine also offers plugins and extensions for Divi. However, it's their one plugin Divi Machine that excites me. With Divi Machine, you can create dynamic content with Div and Advanced Custom Fields. Learning about Divi Machine has changed the way I imagine websites. Plugins I use during the build. Gravity Forms Gravity Forms is the ultimate forms plugin as far as I'm concerned. Even though Divi has forms built in, the ease and versatility of Gravity Forms make it a must-install on every website I build. PrettyLinks PrettyLinks makes it easy to create prettier and easily sharable URL links for your pages directly from within WordPress. SEO Plugins Yoast and Rank Math are the two SEO Plugins I'm most familiar with. Yoast has been an industry leader in website SEO for years, but I've recently seen great results with Rank Math. Both are highly recommended, so research to see which one is best for you. Once the website is built. These are the plugins I install once I've completed a website build. These add functionality to protect and make the site more efficient. iThemes iThemes Security Pro: iThemes Security Pro is arguably the best WordPress Security Plugin available. I don't take chances with website security, and that's why I rely on the best. iThemes BackupBuddy makes it easy to create and store backups of a WordPress website. Over 1 million WordPress sites trust BackupBuddy, and so do I. iThemes Sync: I install this plugin on every website. iThemes Sync allows you to update and manage multiple websites from one location, making it very easy to perform weekly maintenance. SiteGround Optimizer and SiteGround Security: I deactivate these two plugins while building websites and reactivate them once the site is complete. SiteGround has created two great plugins that I've come to rely on. Google Analytics for WordPress by Monster Insights: This plugin makes it very easy to monitor your website traffic.

Check out thewpminute.com for the links. In the News There was a lot of excitement this week around LTDs (LifeTime Licensing Deals). There were several posted reactions to the email sent from Delicious Brains, the new owners of Advanced Custom Fields. The email was not well-received (to say the least) by some users that have had Lifetime Licensing because it was asking for a part-time donation for the product. Twitter exploded with reactions and many in the WordPress community responded as well. We covered this on the WPMinute and Sarah Gooding also wrote about both perspectives — positive and negative — in her article over on the WPTavern. The bottom line is that the lifetime licenses are tough, and very few still remain in the WordPress space. ACF (read: Brad) will continue to honor the pricing for legacy customers. With the recent delay of WordPress 5.9 the team is looking for testers for Beta 1. Angela Jin posted the link for the helpful testing guide. Feel free to participate and let them know how you “broke” it. Testing is very important for a successful release. It seems a year can't go by without the pesky lifetime WordPress license topic popping up to spice up the holiday conversation. A struggle dating back 7 years ago to the month when Jeff Chandler covered, now defunct, Sidekick.pro where then owner Ben Fox shared his pricing experiments. When Brad Touesnard purchased Advanced Custom Fields back in June, he was swiftly reminded how hard lifetime license pricing really is. I mean, he did his due diligence, he knew what he was getting into. But the lifetime license woes lingered well before the new owners arrived. Elliot Condon wrestled with it, “get it all for one price forever” that is, until he finally revised pricing for 2020 to build the business a better runway. Lifetime license holders will get **all** ACF Pro software updates forever. They won't be required to pay for version 6.0 or any other major or minor releases in the future. They signed up for updates for life, so we'll continue to deliver on that promise forever. 8/10— Brad Touesnard (@bradt) June 3, 2021 On Delicious Brains acquiring Advanced Custom Fields Amidst a fumbled start, Brad, did bless all lifetime license holders with access — forever. It's on Twitter, so it's permanent in my book. This isn't the first pricing rodeo for Brad and company. When asked about lessons learned with pricing in a 2018 interview with Joe Howard on the WPMRR podcast, Brad had this to say: “I think the biggest thing that people don’t do is experiment with their pricing. When I launched Migrate DB Pro, I think the developer license was, $99 per year.In December of that year, I doubled the pricing. Which would have been totally uncontroversial, except that I changed all the prices for the existing customers as well. I didn’t grandfather it.And there was definitely quite a bit of blowback. I'd regret doing it because I feel like at that point, it wouldn’t have hurt us to like grandfather those people in but I don’t believe really in grandfathering people in forever. That’s the same aversion I have to like unlimited things and “lifetime this and that.”Brad Touesnard Pricing is challenging, no doubt, and lot has already been said about lifetime licenses. Should you offer them as a product owner? Clearly the data (and the community) is pointing to a firm “no” at this point. Should the customer expect that a lifetime license actually means a lifetime of free…everything? Read Chris Lema's take, On Lifetime Licenses. Let’s dive right in.[00:00:24]Can you give us a sense of how you vetted a product company like ACF? What was attractive besides the obvious..[00:00:29] Revenue, especially recurring revenue, definitely looked at that right away. I looked at the customer base and what their expectations were.[00:00:40]there is obviously more to it with due diligence, . In terms of verifying all those numbers and making sure everything was accurate , and legit, but the accountants and lawyers handled most of that anyway and just provided reports.[00:00:57]ACF’s pretty simple company Elliott set up a really kind of simple thing for 10 years by himself. There weren’t a lot of moving parts , to really vet , in this deal, in terms of what was attractive, obviously…[00:01:10]ACF isa great product that has a passionate and large community of users and customers. The thing that particularly appealed to me is that the customers are the same as our customers.[00:01:24]I think the thing that was the most attractive, it was like, this is a way for us to really kind of step into more mainstream WordPress world, I think. And that seems to be, I’m definitely feeling that over the last few days as the, after the announcement , was made, the, it was really, it’s almost overwhelming how much noise has been kicked up on Twitter especially around lifetime licenses.[00:01:53]How do you weigh this decision amongst the existing product lineup at Delicious Brains?[00:01:58] I’m confident that we can hire folks and handle ACF and scale up what we’ve been doing all these years with our existing products. And, we’ve added, within the last few years we’ve doubled our products.[00:02:11]this is just an extension of where we’ve been already going. It makes complete sense. It’s kind of a supercharging, right? If we were adding two new products over the next, three years, that’s a lot different than adding, a massive product, overnight. it is a big jolt to the business.[00:02:30]Can you hint at the size of the deal?[00:02:32] Nope. Moving on[00:02:34]Will pricing and existing licenses be honored for customers.[00:02:38] Yes. We made that very clear in the announcement posts that we won’t be changing pricing anytime soon.[00:02:46] And if we do

Working for yourself doesn't necessarily mean working by yourself. The craftsperson mind-set keeps you focused on what you can offer the world; the passion mind-set focuses instead on what the world can offer you. I've simply used my skills to help others, because I enjoy doing it. Compartir tus conocimientos sin guardarte nada y ser honesto en la estrategia de marketing 90% negocios +100 años son japoneses (menos de 300 empleados) Too small to fail No company or product is too good to no have to consider and utilize marketing.

Episode 10: Business Models for WordPress Products – Part 3

Mastermind.fm

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 21, 2016 31:23

Welcome to Episode 10 of Mastermind.fm! This week our intrepid masterminds Jean and James continue the series on business models for WordPress that began in Episode 8. This is part 3 of 4, so look for them to wrap this one up next week. Episode 8 began this series with talk of free and premium business models. Episode 9 continued the conversation looking at the freemium model and productized services. This week we focus on a larger variety of models including monetizing through support alone, the Addon Model, the Addon Marketplace, addon development for core products other than your own, and the pure Marketplace model.  A brief rundown: Business Models for WordPress Products Part 3 Paid support for a free core product and plugins Examples: Paid Memberships Pro Issue of note for this model: support usually is required mostly in beginning stages, but as customers become familiar with the product they tend to stop paying Also user perspective is frequently that the product is buggy and they are resistant to wanting to pay for perceived bugginess PMP has moved on from this model They generally agree that this doesn’t seem like a very viable model, but they also concede that they don’t know all the different ways it may be put to use. They wrap this section up by stating that they’d love to hear from anyone that has this model working for them so that they can give it its due respect. Addon model Monetize by selling addons for a free core product Examples: Ultimate Member, Advanced Custom Fields, WP RSS Aggregator WP RSS Aggregator: Jean produced the core plugin, but then began receiving many feature requests Built in feature requests as separate addons “The goal in business is not to find more customers for your products, but to find more products for your customers” -Seth Godin Improving revenue is made possible by: Having tiers for site licensing based on the number of sites you want to install on Selling bundles of addons This model lends the added advantage of testing the marketability of the plugin in the WordPress repo first Addon Marketplaces Similar to Addon model in that you monetize by selling addons for a free core product Different in that addons sold are in an open market in which developers outside the company can create and sell addons side by side with yours Example: Ninja Forms Important to establish a guide for collaborating developers Recommend selling only in one place for a more unified customer experience. One place for official, supported addons that the customer can count on. Support for all addons is handled by the company except in specific fringe cases that require developer modification Revenue sharing with collaborating devs Primary drawback is that it requires some amount of brand protection if collaborating dev is nonresponsive to customer requests for support when a ticket has to be passed along to them or something in their addon breaks Addon Development for existing core product You have no core product of your own, but you monetize by developing addons for existing products Examples: Skyverge dedicated to making addons for Woocommerce Shop Plugins- EDD, Woo, primarily commerce related plugins in general Marketplaces Examples: Creative Market, Envato, Mojo Monetize by providing an open market for developers to sell their products This model provides a ready made audience for your content if you’re a developer, so it’s very lucrative to developers just entering the WordPress space Downside to developers is giving up a larger portion of your revenue Downside to the model is a reputation that many products sold in your marketplace may not be supported. Companies like Envato are moving to remedy this by featuring only authors who do offer support. Featured On The Show: WP Engine Themeforest Envato Mojo Creative Market EDD Bookings

Welcome to Episode 9 of Mastermind.fm! Last week Jean and James began a multi-part series discussing different WordPress business models. Episode 8 tackled  free and premium business models, and this week we continue with a discussion of licensing strategies, the freemium model, productized service model, and membership model. Recurrent vs. Lifetime License Models The topic of conversation turns first to recurrent versus lifetime license models. Recurrent licenses typically require annual renewal to continue receiving basics like product support and updates, whereas lifetime licenses are exactly what the name implies. Jean and James point out that WordPress plugins typically favor recurrent licensing while most themes choose lifetime licenses. James parses the reasoning behind that split in fairly simple terms. If you have recurrent expenses that customers benefit from, a recurrent payment structure ensures that you always have the income to provide those benefits. It also establishes a sustainable business model for your company that can grow over time. On the other hand, a lifetime license often makes better sense for theme providers as themes usually don't require frequent support (assuming solid documentation) or updating. They are more static over time. Additionally, theme companies tend to be more diversified into other products or services and generally do not bring in the majority of their revenue from the themes themselves. StudioPress is one such example. Freemium Model Freemium is a licensed based model exemplified by the like of MailPoet, iThemes, Soliloquy, BeaverBuilder, Migrate WP Pro, Advanced Custom Fields, MailChimp, and others. The basic idea of the freemium model is to offer a free or lite version that acts as a channel to a more robust, paid version of the product. There are 2 factors that Jean and James raise as points of consideration here: Support still has to be provided for the free or lite version of the product. The risk of not doing so is a ton of bad press and 1 star reviews surrounding your product. The question of how to provide support for a free product is something you have to tackle early. You must choose wisely in selecting features to be limited in the the free or lite version. There are good and bad ways to implement these artificial limitations. A good rule of thumb is to stick to features that require resources for you to support. Examples include the Slack plugin that limits messages sent, and MailPoet which limits emails sent. Both these things require resource expenditure on their part. Limits that are arbitrary or deny basic functionality expected from your product type should be avoided. Our resident masterminds also direct our attention to the product's codebase in this model. Even though you may be offering both a free/lite version and a paid version, splitting the codebase to differentiate the versions introduces challenges both for future development and user experience. License based products should be built from a single, highly extensible codebase, and it's important to do this early on. The larger your customer base becomes, the harder it is to turn the ship and effect major change. Product Services Model Jean addresses Productized Services from his position of experience with WP Mayor. The idea behind this model is scalability. As a freelancer or agency you typically meet with a new client, discuss the project requirements, then provide them the service. Employing the productized service model cuts out initial inquiry and discussion phase and alternatively offers a select choice of predefined service packages; the customer selects the package they want and people can see price right away and order with minimal or no sales contact. This model has the advantage of enabling you to work with a higher volume of clients than typical freelancing or per customer agency work. It is a great strategy when you don’t have a product per se,
