What's up, dudes? Ed Daly, author of The Christmas Book: The Ultimate Guide to Your Favorite Holiday, and I take a dive into a Showtime TV show. It's Gary Shandling's Christmas Show! After a brief monologue, Gary hosts a big Christmas party for his friends and family. His mother arrives and gifts him his father's old pocket watch. One by one, guests begin to leave until Gary is left alone. As he cleans up, he discovers the watch is missing! In a panic, he heads to his sister's place to confront her boyfriend about taking the watch. Of course, he vehemently denies taking it. On his way back home, he meets his mother who confesses to taking the watch back in a moment of weakness and sentimentality. Unfortunately, Santa Claus breaks up the emotional moment telling Gary that he slipped down his chimney and twisted his ankle. Gary wishes for a triumphant success of a Christmas party, which Santa obliges. Gary then offers to finish delivering presents.Popcorn garland? Check. Skating snowman? Weird, but yes. Tom Petty in a Christmas sweater and part of a vocal ensemble? Only because Springsteen wouldn't wear one! So grab your pocket watch, strap yourself into your chair, and turn the place upside down for this episode about Gary Shandling's Christmas Show!Get “The Christmas Book” at AmazonEd's WebsiteCheck us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Totally Rad Christmas Mall & Arcade, Teepublic.com, or TotallyRadChristmas.com! Ed Daly, author of "The Christmas Book," joins Kerry and Collin for a discussion on the 1988 classic comedy "Scrooged," starring Bill Murray. For Ed, it was a memorable childhood moviegoing experience. For Collin, it was a memorable teenage experience working at a movie theater at the time. For Kerry, it was a memorable cable TV staple. Does it hold up? Are the supporting actors actually funnier than Murray? What do we all remmeber about the films "Moving Violations" and "Pandemonium"? All this, plus a non-holiday related edition of the Blu-ray Gift Exchange.  Ed Daly's book "The Christmas Book: The Ultimate Guide To Your Favorite Holiday" Blu-ray movies covered: Paramount: "Scrooged" 4K "Terms of Endearment" 4K Warner Bros: "A Christmas Story Christmas" DVD "The Fugitive" 4K Criterion: "Jackie Chan: Emergence Of A Superstar" collection Warner Archive: "Rapa Nui" "Looney Tunes: Collector's Choice, Vol. 2" Music Box Films:  "The Unknown Country"

Hello everyone! In today's episode I share a listener memory that's an emotional one. Fan of the show Katie shares her memory of spending Christmas 2010 with her niece who had leukemia. After I share that, I give a few tips on how to celebrate the holidays after a loved one has passed away. This can be a difficult conversation, but it's something that many of us have experienced. Then, author Ed Daly stops by to talk about his new work, The Christmas Book: The Ultimate Guide to Your Favorite Holiday. We talk his book, the origin and development of Christmas traditions, and of course our favorite Christmas books and stories. Check out the Cozy Christmas YouTube channel to see the November video in my Cozy Christmas Book Corner series to get my review of his book and a couple of others that I read last month.
