As I approach the one-year anniversary of my TEDx talk, I am reminded of an important lesson about fear, uncertainty, and love. In this repeat episode of Ten Minutes to Less Suffering, I share how preparing for my talk stirred up stress and anxiety. It was not because I was unprepared, but because I became attached to the belief that my talk had to be perfect, that everything needed to unfold exactly as I imagined. Remembering Rumi's words that fear is the non-acceptance of uncertainty, I turned back to my “Maybe practice.” Letting go of the need for certainty and perfection allowed me to shift from fear into presence, gratitude, and love. In that space, I was finally able to enjoy the experience. In this episode, I invite you to explore: • Why fear often arises when we refuse to accept uncertainty. • How clarifying your goals and separating fear statements from the present can ease anxiety. • Ways the “Maybe practice” can open the door to creativity, gratitude, and possibility. Suffering often comes from clinging to fixed outcomes. When we accept uncertainty as a friend, we create space for joy and new opportunities because Maybe the best is yet to come! And, by the way, the talk turned out to be pretty amazing! Send us a textHi, it's Turo here. In this episode, I'm diving into something a little different: how culture shapes the way we eat, move, and think about health.Growing up in Finland, meals were quick, functional, and often tied to rules and restriction. Now living in Italy, I've experienced the complete opposite—meals as social events, daily movement built into life, and a guilt-free approach to enjoying food.I'll share the biggest lessons I've learned from both cultures, from how Italians stay active without “working out,” to why their relationship with pasta looks nothing like the diet culture mindset in Northern Europe. If you've ever struggled with guilt around food or felt like exercise was just a box to check, this episode will give you a fresh perspective on how to build sustainable, balanced habits—no matter where you live.

When we resist the present moment because it doesn't match our expectations, we create distance from our happiness. We tell stories about how things should be or fear what the future might hold, and in doing so, we miss the value and possibility in what's actually here. When we accept what is and remember that uncertainty is a space of unlimited potential, we become more present, open, and available. This not only helps us get the most out of the moment, it is also a powerful recipe for creating a better future. Affirmation: I accept this moment as it is, and I trust that uncertainty holds the potential for something beautiful. I release the stories that create distance from my happiness and stay open to all that life has to offer. Send us a textEp 640: Hunted at Work for a Quickie with the Chef written and narrated by podcast host Ruan Willow. Dana, now single after a dull unsexy marriage, was working at an old folks home to make money for herself and her kids. She had started offering side jobs of taboo acts for the residents to earn extra money to help pay her way through nursing school. The Chef of the home, Cyrus, had found this out and wanted in on the action, but promised to pay her in pleasure instead. They'd fallen into a sexy game of hunter and prey, which they enacted on their work breaks, and found hidden places around the building to have sex. Having almost got caught, they were swift and smart about their sneaky rendezvous. Dana, who gets very turned on by Cyrus's filthy dirty talk, gets a surprise from him that leaves her excited for more of the sexy middle-aged chef.Enjoy this spicy erotic fiction story! Inspired by a talk from spiritual teacher Guy Finley, this episode explores the idea that “the pain of uncertainty is not proof that something is wrong.” We often resist the unknown, assuming discomfort means danger or failure. But what if uncertainty isn't the problem—what if it's the path? This episode invites you to shift your relationship with not knowing, release the false comfort of control, and discover the peace and possibility that live in presence. The unknown isn't the enemy—it might just be the beginning of something greater. If you found this podcast enjoyable, kindly consider subscribing and leaving a rating or review. To celebrate 300 episodes of Ten Minutes to Less Suffering, I'm revisiting one of the most meaningful episodes in the series. Inspired by a passage from the Tao Te Ching, this episode explores how the empty spaces in our lives—moments of uncertainty, loss, or stillness—can become the starting point for growth, creativity, and true fulfillment. We often rush to fill the void, but what if that emptiness is exactly where our next beginning lives? What if the unknown holds the very thing we've been waiting for? Thank you for being part of this journey. Maybe the best is yet to come! If you found this podcast enjoyable, kindly consider subscribing and leaving a rating or review.
