It's finally a slow news week which means we get to settle into some stories that we'd typically breeze over! Leading the charge this week is Avowed which continues to sound amazing! With new details from director Carrie Patel, the Dukes settle into a discuss about character building, choice and consequence, and the oft-debated romance. Alongside that, rumors of Activision games arriving on Game Pass are starting to percolate to the top as the Transformers games have been relisted. At the same time, we are hearing how games like Crash and Tony Hawk are due out on Game Pass shortly. What does the cadence of release look like for Activision's catalogue and how does Xbox handle the licensed, backwards compatible games? There's plenty of room for a discussion there, so let's have one! Plus more Xbox's handheld UI, Assassin's Creed Remakes inbound, Xbox Cloud Gaming arriving on Amazon Fire TV sticks, and much more! Please keep in mind that our timestamps are approximate, and will often be slightly off due to dynamic ad placement. 0:00:00 Intro and write-ins 0:32:37 Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Amazon fire TV Sticks 0:37:53 Activision Transformer games relisted, currently unavailable for purchase 0:46:32 Lost Odyssey remaster dream is dead 0:51:47 Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster release date 0:57:37 A new Resident Evil is in development 0:59:45 Dragon's Dogma 2 performance update 1:02:16 Ubisoft is remaking multiple Assassins Creed games 1:07:44 Star Wars Bounty Hunter is coming to Xbox 1:12:57 Shadow of the Erdtree has sold 5 million copies 1:15:04 Flintlock Siege Of Dawn has gone gold 1:17:00 Crazy Taxi update from SEGA 1:21:59 What We're Playing 2:00:56 Avowed interview 2:17:42 What's this Xbox mobile dashboard? 2:24:01 Activision Games to Game Pass soon 2:30:39 Coming soon to Xbox Game Pass 2:36:19 Game Pass Pick Of The Week 2:39:12 Another Mt Rushmore 2:53:31 Wrapup Learn more about your ad choices. To those of you looking on the website, yes, the pic is from Star Trek: Picard. It shows the Anaheim Convention Center, so it seemed funny yet somehow fitting, especially since Star Trek is mentioned in this. Anyway, the episode covering Star Wars Celebration 2020 was so long that I ended up having to divide it into two parts for the podcast feeds. Here on Part 1, you will hear a session where I reminisce about this Star Wars convention with Zac Arnold from the Intergalactic Peace Coalition podcast and Chris Abbott A.K.A. Starrapter. After that, I spend the rest of this talking with Jeffery White from Hype Function and Maniacal Melodies. Listen to us talk about some of the cool things we saw at Celebration: the panels, the announcements, the cosplays, and even food! Show Notes: 57:40 - Star Wars: Bounty Hunter came out in 2002. It's been a relatively Star Wars heavy few months, and we're going to pile right in on that with our look at 2002's tie-in game to Attack of the Clones, Star Wars : Bounty Hunter! This game attempts to explain why Jango Fett was chosen to be the source of the DNA for the clone army, and allows you to be one of the galaxy's most feared bounty hunters! But, much like many Star Wars tie-in products over the years, is this game worth the republic credits? We also take on several listener questions about our website, finding time for gaming, and dealing with a backlog of games! Want to skip right to Bounty Hunting? Grab your whipcord and blaster and start at the 12:00 mark! __________________________ If you would like additional bonus episodes of Retrovaniacs or to request a game we must cover, our Patreon is located here : https://www.patreon.com/user?u=21041333 If you enjoy this podcast, why not write a review wherever you download it from? In this episode of the show we go interview style to talk with Dominic Pace, who should be featured in this week's episode of The Mandalorian as a standout bounty hunter hanging around Greef's bounty hunter hideout. https://youtu.be/00Tn4PODPOM I talk to Dominic about his Star Wars fandom and how it led into his career as a character actor. We then move into how he got the role on The Mandalorian, which proves the Force is with him, and then from there we talk about his time on set and what it was like to channel his brand new bounty hunter character, which he would like to become known as Gecko. Dominic shares what it meant to him as a life long fan to get the role, and how he plans to pay it forward if his character become immortalized in the fandom, much like other background Star Wars characters who have become cult legends with fans. Think Dengar, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, IG-88, or Bossk. Dominic's Gecko has that potential thanks to his unique look, which you can see below. He also shares what it was like to be on set, and provides a few minor details about the shoot, and the type of movie magic was used to pull off some of the sets. For example, did you know that a lot of the backgrounds are 4K LED screens? Me neither, so I learned tidbits like this and others while talking to Mr. Pace. Tune in above, and if you want to check in on Dominic, or take him up on his offer at the end of the cast, then make sure to follow him on Instagram.

Welcome to Dev Game Club, where this week we begin a new series on 2001's Devil May Cry, an action beat-'em-up from Capcom. We situate the game in its time and talk about its evolution from the Resident Evil series with its action. Dev Game Club looks at classic video games and plays through them over several episodes, providing commentary. Sections played: First four missions Issues covered: gaming in 2001, the origins of the title as Resident Evil 4 and making it into a new franchise, leaning into the tone, the beginning of the Clover legacy, distilling down to God of War, camera changes, we riff on the ranks, evolving the camera from Resident Evil, branching off the controls, dealing with the stick when moving from screen to screen, the Capcom 5, many takes on Dante's Inferno, "Devil May Care," dripping with style, style *is* substance, a game that wants you to dive in and get good, switching to be more aggressive to fight the first boss, where you can run from the return of that boss, the presentation of easy mode, learning to read a hard game, trying different third-person cameras at this time, facing difficulty and having to figure it out, change in game tastes in the last two decades: repetition vs continuing spectacle, physical limitations, grinding for consumables and the store, how does scoring work, taking a weird detour into watery skulls, how this series evolved to present day and greater generosity, procedurally generated emails, Diablo's shrines, the strategy of allowing a shared copy of the game actually driving sales, virality, generosity driving sales, hacks and cheats and the difficulty of preventing them. Games, people, and influences mentioned or discussed: Capcom, Jedi Starfighter, Ico, Grand Theft Auto III, Anachronox, Silent Hill 2, Resident Evil (series), Halo: Combat Evolved, Metal Gear Solid 2, Max Payne, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, Diablo, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Onimusha: Warlords, Nintendo GameCube, Super Smash Bros. We start our Road to Star Wars Celebration Chicago with a review of the PS2 classic Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Before we jump into that, we discuss all the gaming news fit to discuss: Anthem making PS4’s try to off themselves, Nintendo telling game devs to tone down the money making, a long lost NES wrestling game, the ban hammer coming down full force in Apex Legends, the Division 2’s massive day 1 patch on the PS4, and Google’s possible streaming video game service. We also discuss the terrible and sick game Rape Day. We here at Bad Gamers Anonymous do not condone this type of violent and sick and twisted video game. We do believe that video game makers have the right to publish whatever they wish, even trash like this. We do, however, have strong and differing opinions on how Steam, and it’s parent company Valve, reacted to this game and the language they chose to use in their statement saying it would not appear on their platform. This week is the long-awaited return of the much-beloved mini-topics episodes! Also a lot of hyphenated words. Topics include: favorite lightsabers, oversized things in Star Wars, and the horrible camera controls in the video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Also there is a LOT of discussion about how hot Asajj Ventress is. Do us a favor and check us out on Patreon! ¿Quizás adelanten algún avance de The Mandalorian? Hawes and Will return after a week off and Hawes is rusty. Mark Hamill receives a star on the walk of fame. John Fevreau is announced as the producer and writer for the upcoming live action series. Will and Hawes discuss the end of Star Wars Rebels. Apparently Hawes doesn't know what a prologue is. What is in store for the next Star Wars animated series? Listener emails and voice messages are discussed. Fernando has an idea for a Seven Samurai inspired bounty hunter movie. Mark writes in from Venice Beach and has some thoughts about ewoks. Fraser writes in about the Star Wars Bounty Hunter game. Josiah wonders when we'll get the full Solo trailer and ticket presales. William wonders what time period the recently announced series will explore. Jonathan speculates about Han's Imperial service. Beth wants to know how we'd like Boba Fett to be portrayed if he appears in Solo. King Tom wants to know what we're going to do while waiting for Episode IX. Like our theme song? Then be sure to check out the band that was kind enough to provide the music. It's our epic post-E3 show! The crew decompress and discuss the mindmelter/bodymover that was the Electronic Entertainment Expo, and then it's back to what the at1UPpers do best: the guys have an idea for a Star Wars Bounty Hunter movie and Jade offers up another recommendation. In the after-segments, Alan and Mike go spoiler-heavy in a Toy Story 3 discussion, and we wrap things up with a pre-E3 lost episode.
