After Completing the First 5 Weeks of Lent: Preparing for the Actual Mystery of Holy Week: Lenten Conference #6: Part 2 In Silence and Fire: Encountering Christ in the Holy Days This is Part 2 of this conference, given just before Holy Week. This conference continues by capturing a rich and passionate reflection on the liturgical depth and spiritual symbolism of the Good Friday and Easter celebrations within the Catholic Church. We are led within a powerful journey through the Paschal Triduum, beginning with the veiling and gradual unveiling of the crucifix during the Good Friday liturgy. This ritual highlights the unfolding mystery of Christ's passion, encouraging believers to first understand, pray, and unite their hearts with Jesus' sacrificial love before visually encountering the cross. The Good Friday Liturgy The Good Friday liturgy is marked by solemn intercessions for all humanity, affirming the universal reach of Christ's redemptive act. The veneration of the single crucifix serves as a profound moment of communal reverence, underscoring the singularity of Christ's sacrifice. The Easter Vigil is celebrated with grandeur and symbolism—starting with the blessing of a new fire and the lighting of the Paschal candle, representing the risen Christ. Through light, scripture, and sacramental renewal, the liturgy transitions the faithful from darkness to light, death to resurrection. This includes the renewal of baptismal vows and the sprinkling with holy water, symbolically cleansing the ashes of Lent and marking spiritual rebirth. The Church also reflects on the value of sitting in silence before an empty tabernacle on Holy Saturday morning, recognizing the rare spiritual weight of absence. The entire experience is portrayed as an invitation to deeper renewal, awareness, and joyful participation in the mysteries of faith. The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Dr. Wayne A. Wiegand. A White man, historian and author, we'll discuss Dr. Wiegand's 2024 publication, In Silence or Indifference: Racism and Jim Crow Segregated Public School Libraries. The text does a masterful job detailing the history of White people controlling what books are in public libraries, if black people have access to those libraries, and if black people will be allowed to work in a book conservatory. Many core counter-racist principles are on display in this text as well as the years of deliberate White Supremacy that explain why black people have a culture that is mostly opposed to reading. Dr. Weigand tells us about growing up in the Racially Restricted Region of Michigan where he heard countless Racist Jokes and said his own White family was a part of the local System of Racism. We discuss how White Women exercise White Power in the classroom and the library as well as a 1960's image of a White North Carolina student in blackface. The Racist teen blackened up for "Book Week" as the beloved negro character from Nights With Uncle Remus. Importantly, the White female librarian beams a smile wide enough to light up the entire Carolina state while tenderly touching the blackface lad. Another White staff member stands behind the Racistchild, also brandishing a proud, toothy grin. #ReadingIsMoreImportantThanWatchingTelevision #TheCOWS16Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#

Librarians around the country are currently on a battleground, defending their right to purchase and circulate books dealing with issues of race and systemic racism. Despite this work, the library community has often overlooked—even ignored—its own history of White supremacy and deliberate inaction on the part of White librarians and library leadership. Author Wayne A. Wiegand takes a crucial step to amend this historical record. In Silence or Indifference: Racism and Jim Crow Segregated Public School Libraries (University of Mississippi Press, 2024) analyzes and critiques the world of professional librarianship between 1954 and 1974. Wiegand begins by identifying racism in the practice and customs of public school libraries in the years leading up to the Brown v. Board of Education decision. This culture permeated the next two decades, as subsequent Supreme Court decisions led to feeble and mostly unsuccessful attempts to integrate Jim Crow public schools and their libraries. During this same period, the profession was honing its national image as a defender of intellectual freedom, a proponent of the freedom to read, and an opponent of censorship. Still, the community did not take any unified action to support Brown or to visibly oppose racial segregation. As Black school librarians and their Black patrons suffered through the humiliations and hostility of the Jim Crow educational establishment, the American library community remained largely ambivalent and silent. The book brings to light a distressing history that continues to impact the library community, its students, and its patrons. Currently available school library literature skews the historical perspective that informs the present. In Silence or Indifference is the first attempt to establish historical accountability for the systemic racism contemporary school librarianship inherited in the twenty-first century. Wayne A. Wiegand is F. William Summers Professor of Library and Information Studies Emeritus at Florida State University. Often referred to as “the Dean of American library historians,” he is author of many scholarly articles and books, including Irrepressible Reformer: A Biography of Melvil Dewey; Part of Our Lives: A People's History of the American Public Library; and American Public School Librarianship: A History. Jen Hoyer is Technical Services and Electronic Resources Librarian at CUNY New York City College of Technology. Jen edits for Partnership Journal and organizes with the TPS Collective. -EXPLICIT CONTENT-Jerome and Chris discuss two of their favorite horror movies: Silence of the Lambs (1991) and Midsommar (2019). In Silence of the Midsommar - Part One, Midsommar was mainly covered. In this episode, Silence of the Lambs takes the front seat. They explore the similarities and differences between these films, and how they both deal with themes of trauma, identity, and transformation. They also analyze the characters, the plot, the cinematography, the music, and the symbolism of these films, and share their personal stories and opinions about them. They also play a game of six degrees of separation, where they try to connect two actors from these films through other movies they have been in. They challenge each other with Isabel Grill, who played Maja in Midsommar, and Charles Napier, who played Lt. Boyle in Silence of the Lambs. They manage to find a connection between them in five degrees, using some obscure and recent movies. Can you connect them in less? Remember, they can't use either movie from the show! This episode is full of spoilers, insights, trivia, humor, and passion for these films. It's a must-listen for any horror fan or movie lover. It's also a very long episode, so it's split into two parts. The first part covers Silence of the Lambs, and the second part covers Midsommar. You can listen to them separately or together, depending on your preference. If you enjoyed listening, please leave us a review on iTunes or Spotify, or email us at cheers@silverscreenhappyhour.com We would love to hear your feedback and comments.WEBSITE: SILVER SCREEN HAPPY HOUREMAIL: cheers@silverscreenhappyhour.comFollow us on Instagram: SILVER SCREEN HAPPY HOUR

Watch the Screenplay Reading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8DK5KJ2MqU The story follows Jamie Rommen, a man suffering in silence with grief, loneliness, and depression. The loss of his family weighs on him heavily a year later; still reliving the events of their death, alone in the new world of COVID quarantine. He's out of work. Bills are piling up. His life falling apart. From the writer: In Silence is about a guy who struggles internally with depression and PTSD, stemming from a lifetime of mental and emotional abuse, exacerbated by the loss of his family over a short period of time. The purpose of the story is to show how the devastating effects of depressing and PTSD, both forms of brain trauma, can spiral out of control if not addressed. A lesser theme of the film shows the pitfall of the male mindset that says “I'm a man, I don't need help”, “I can do it on my own”, which is a bunch of archaic non-sense that needs to go away. It's OK to cry, guys. There's nothing wrong with asking for help. This story is inspired by my own experiences, so take my word for it. I am Jamie Rommen. In this episode, quotes from Robert Adams with Ramana Maharshi were contemplated. Robert Adams with Ramana Maharshi, "The highest teaching in the world is Silence.... In Silence, boundaries dissolve. Silence is the ultimate reality, and everything exists in this omniscient silence... That is Truth; that is who you really are. In the deep silence where there is no good or bad, and no one is trying to achieve anything ... there is just being, pure being."

Gideon Katz discusses some of the mure surprising aspect of Israeli secularism The fear of Judaism is an important theme in Israeli culture. By analyzing Israeli dystopias and essays we have the chance to “look” closely at this fear, and its images. The main one is the image on Judaism as the Israeli unconsciousness that ambush to the secular identity. This central image tells us something about the roots of the fear. Gideon Katz is an associate professor in Ben-Gurion Research Institute at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He is author of To the Core of Secularism: A Philosophical Analysis of Secularism in its Israeli Context, (Jerusalem, 2011), The Pale God – Israeli Secularism and Spinoza's Philosophy of Culture (Boston, 2011) and co-editor of Music in Israel (Sede-Boker, 2014). His book In Silence and out Loud: Leibowitz in Israeli Context (Open University Press, Ra'anana) has been recently published.
Benefactor's Folly: Part One The crew of the Coriolis, with Ballaster Kodira in tow, set off to hunt down Benefactor Orlean before his plans come to fruition. Mind is like a monkey. You cannot control your mind.If you attempt to control it, it will jump here and there. It will leave your total control. It will leave you chaos to handle.Mind has to be understood. If you try to understand, mind will come to your control. If you would like to stop the chatter in your mind, you should never try to control it.Try to understand it.How do you understand your mind?Follow these steps.1. Sit down in silence. Tell yourself you are not going to talk.2. Sit down and do meditation at Sahasrara Chakra for 20 minutes.3. Take down your diary and a pen.4. In Silence, continue to keep your mind at Sahasrara Chakra and listen to your mind.5. As your mind starts to talk, write down the thoughts. Remember that in silence, God will speak through you.If you keep quiet, your mind will talk to you. It will tell you so many things that you have to resolve.6. Take each thought one at a time and ask yourself the following questions7. Qn. 1: What is the origin of your thought? There could be six origins of thoughtsa) Need. b) Habit. c) Environment. d) Other's impositions. e) Genetic. f) Divinity. I am hungry. I think I should eatI am used to eating at this time. I think I should eatI love the food in the mall. I think I should eatMy friends instigate me to eat. I think I should eatFor generations, people have eaten this at home. I think I should eatI want to live healthily to serve humanity. I think I should eat heathy8. Qn. 2: Will this thought hurt me or others?9. Qn. 3: Will this thought hurt physically or mentally?10. Qn. 4: Will this thought hurt now or in the future?11. Come to a conclusion. Is the thought moral or not? positive or negative?A thought that does not hurt anyone physically or mentally, now or in the future is a positive thoughtWhat do I do if I have negative thoughts? You cannot stop thinkingYou can stop negative thinkingChoose a positive thought to replace the negative thoughtFind the positive thoughtGo to Thuriya chakraRemain at the Alpha frequency between 8 and 13 cpsTake a strong affirmation with the positive thoughtKeep superimposing the positive thought in place of the negative thoughtIn due course of time, the mind will stop it's chatterMind will stop negative thinkingMind will remain positiveMind will remain peacefulI hope this simple process helps you to practice introspection in silencePractice Sahasrara meditation in SKY systemChoose one hour a day8 hours a week15 days in a yearSit in silenceIntrospect and meditateOvercome non-stop chatter of negative thinkingBuild positive thinkingRemain in silenceEnjoy the blissBe Blessed by the Divine!Krish Murali Eswar. Greatings metalheads – welcome back to another episode of The Great Metal Debate Podcast - today we're talking about Kvaen and their newest album The Great Below, which came out on March 25th. Let's begin dissecting each new song track by track. The first song is called “Cauldron of Plagues.” I love how the first 1 second of this song is silent; then, 2 seconds in, we hear Jakob breath in through his mouth before unleashing a long black metal scream by the 3rd second. It really lets the listener know that he is once again pouring maximum effort into vocal delivery. The rest of the song is exactly what you'd expect from Jakob – a specific tone to his raspy vocals that should be very recognizeable to true fans. The next song on the album is the title track “The Great Below.” It starts of with some finger tapping on the low end of the guitar neck that proceeds with some palm-muted rapid single-string plucking. This all takes place before the main, galloping riff that makes up the majority of the song. ‘Majority' being the key word, as we have a guest appearance from none other than Jeff Loomis to perform a guitar solo. Directly after the solo, the tempo changes slightly in a way that it's near impossible not to bang your head. While Jakob previously made nearly an entire album completely by himself, this time around he has quite a few people from the metal scene giving him a helping hand that he truly deserves. In this track titled “In Silence,” it's anything but silent. It is a loud and extremely fast paced black metal track that really gets in your face. It begins with an eerie, horror-esque soundtrack complete with heavy footsteps, distant chanting, followed by the human heartbeat. This is when the song picks up with the crystal-clean snare drum that has perfect pitch. The song features Nephente, who is the founding member of the Swedish melodic black metal act known as Netherbird. After seven minutes of chaos, you can prepare for total annihilation by track number four which is called “Damnations Jaw.” The opening riff is an unmistakable black metal riff played in a narrow scale with fast strumming and heavy distortion which can only be found in this subgenre. If it wasn't clear enough, a hellish screech fades in with it. This song features yet another legendary guitarist for the solo, Mike Weed from King Diamond. “Sulphur Fire” is the fifth track, that introduces the drums slowly but develops into a steady drumroll before double bass blastbeats. This time around Jakob plays his own solo, but the same can't be said for the sixth track which is entitled “Ensamvarg.” “Ensamvarg” is definitely my favorite new Kvaen song. Something about Jakob's vocals on this one reminds me a lot of the song “Black Dragon” by Dissection. Though the musical structure is absolutely nothing alike, I can't help but notice the way the vocals sound spaced apart in small bursts. “Your Mighty Has Fallen” is next - one of the few songs on this album where it's Jakob doing everything. It seems as though everything this band touches becomes a masterpiece. The eighth and final song on this record is “The Fire Within Him Burns.” This one features guest vocalist Mathias Lillmåns from the band Finntroll. It's a great way to conclude a highly anticipated release from a single talented musician who can hold his own beside bands with full lineups. I very much enjoyed everything in The Great Below, and would have to give it an 8.5 out of 10. Be sure to show your support by purchasing Jakob's music through the Kvaen bandcamp page or through his label, Black Lion Records.

She writes, "We come to the feet of the silent Mother Meera full of the noise of the world and the noise of our minds. In Silence, our minds are freed from rebellion. In Silence, our lessons in living and light begin. We become as children before the Divine. We learn to remember God no matter how we live our lives. We learn to ask God for everything. "Hello Clarice..." easily one of the most memorable and iconic lines in film history. Delivered with devilish perfection from the one and only Sir Anthony Hopkins in the role that defined his career. In Silence of the Lambs we were introduced to quite possibly the greatest on-screen villain of all-time Hannibal "the Cannibal" Lecter. As we begin our Halloween spooky season kick-off we wanted to approach the most charming villain we can think of. And not just the Anthony Hopkins version but easily the next best incarnation in Mads Mikkelsen from the NBC series Hannibal. We're also going to touch on the 2 other incarnations of Hannibal there have been on-screen from Manhunter and Hannibal Rising not mention the books. So we won't keep you waiting any longer that would be well - rude and we all know what Dr. Lecter does with the rude. "Ready when you are Sgt. Pembry..." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jafnpodcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jafnpodcast/support
LRT RADIJO eteryje muzikinė premjera. Goda Sasnauskaitė, arba Godo Yorke, išleidžia ir pristato savo debiutinį studijinį albumą „In Silence, In Sirens“. Kadaise „Lietuvos balse", „Eurovizijos" dainų konkurse save išbandžiusi, Goda jau keletą metų aktyviai dirbo prie savo autorinių dainų albumo. Šiam gimti padėjo kompozitorius, prodiuseris, buvęs „Golden Parazyth" narys Aurimas Vilkišius. Koks tai albumas? Kaip jis radosi? Ką savo dainomis siekia pasakyti dainų autorė ir atlikėja? Kokie kūrėjai ją įkvepia? LRT RADIJO studijoje į šiuos klausimus atsako Goda ir Aurimas, o klausytojai pirmą kartą girdi naujo albumo dainas.Ved. Domantas Razauskas
„Jaučiu, kad tai yra įstabiausia, ką esame sukūrę.“, – apie naują su Aurimo Vilkišiaus-Wolg pagalba įrašytą kūrinį prasitarė ji. O kad jau šis – apie įsimylėjimą, bent truputį įsimylėti (dainą, dieną, žmogų, *įterpkite savo variantą*) kviečiame ir mes.Laidoje „Be problemų“ – šiek tiek tiek banginių, šiek tiek „Drive“, šiek tiek Whitney Houston iš „The Bodyguard“ ir visa premjera, visa godo yorke. Su ja – apie šįryt išleistą trečiąjį debiutinio albumo „In Silence, In Sirens“ singlą „Find Yourself In Love“.Kalbino Kristupas Naraškevičius.
In the "I've Learned What Matters Most" series, Yvette shares her perspectives on what matters most in life. In this second episode, Yvette shares insight into her 23-year meditation practice. Jesus, The Way, the Truth, and the Life Online Retreat - Closing Session with David Hoffmeister and Frances XuHow does Jesus' life and especially the end of his life relate to the situation that we are in right now? What does Jesus have to tell me right now? We have all experienced being upset for whatever reason. What Jesus is saying is that many of us have felt like being crucified for years, and the upset is equivalent to the crucifixion as if something has been done to us in form that is not right. Listen to David and Frances close this extraordinary online retreat with answers to our deepest questions.Svava sing "My Life is Not My Own" and "In Silence."If you are interested to know more about David Hoffmeister and Living Miracles events, here is more information: https://circle.livingmiraclescenter.org/events.Recorded on March 03, 2021, in Chapala, Mexico.

And your emails! This week's music: August Burns Red - Chop Suey
It's another solo Mike outing! In this episode Mike brings you an update on his search for the elusive next-gen consoles. He may have found the gateway to getting one; a way that uses the scalpers own methods against them... Mike also talks about the latest games he has been playing... The complete Hitman 2 was on sale during Black Friday and Mike picked that up; both because he is a fan of the series as well as the fact that the developers, ioi Interactive, are making the next 007 game. He'll talk about what he enjoys about the game and what needs work if they plan to tranfer the same type of gameplay into a James Bond adventure. Then Mike steps into the new indie asymmetrical horror game, In Silence, in early access on the PC. He discusses how the monster in both design and gameplay is cool, but how the lack of variety and progression for both monster and survivors (as well as some big bugs) holds this fun and frightening game back a bit. So, enjoy the episode and keep on gaming!!! Check us out at http://www.twoplayerbros.com/ (TwoPlayerBros.com) And visit https://ozzed.net/ (Ozzed.net) for more great retro chiptunes!
-We talk about SpOoKy GaMeS, such as Phasmophobia and how 'tis the season, and In Silence, a game about listening closely to your friends. -We talk about Outlast, a fun family game for the whole gang. -We talk about Monster Prom and Camp, and all the good characters in it -We talk about MURDER HOUSE, and VHS quality murder mysteries! -We talk about Cyberpunk 2077, and their abject misunderstanding of cyberpunk as a fucking genre, and their history of transphobic comments and consistent mistakes time and time again over the course of their publicism for the game. -We talk about Drag, but also how goddamn exhausted we are with drag lately, just because we're so damn tired.

http://livingmiracles.org/eventsDavid Hoffmeister and Kirsten Buxton close the July 2019 Awakening from the Dream "The Art of Listening - A Humble Journey Home" online retreat in a very powerful session where they share parables from their own lives together. Svava kicks off the session by singing her own song called "In Silence.""Listen, and hear your Father speak to you through His appointed Voice, which silences the thunder of the meaningless, and shows the way to peace to those who cannot see. Be still today and listen to the truth. Be not deceived by voices of the dead, which tell you they have found the source of life and offer it to you for your belief. Attend them not, but listen to the truth." This week's show features a discussion about collective action, solidarity, and labor organizing with Penn State English PhD Student and organizer Doug Kulchar. In this conversation, Calvin and Alex talk with Doug about methods of leveraging employee power in workplaces, why bosses and other people in positions of power are often opposed to unions, and Doug's own experience organizing a graduate student union campaign at Penn State. Through these discussions, we touch on the ways in which concepts such as literacy, translation, and rhetorical listening can help us understand the skills necessary to build effective social movements around shared problems.Connect with Doug on Twitter: @dkulcharWorks and Concepts Cited in this EpisodeBurke, K. KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA Margaret Smithers-Crump is a Canadian artist based in Houston, Texas. Her work addresses the vulnerability and interconnectedness of Earth’s diverse life forms and ecosystems as impacted by global warming, pollution and loss of habitat. Fittingly, she creates her spatial artworks with recycled plexiglas, a material that evokes fragility and human consumption. Smithers-Crump has exhibited nationally with recent solo exhibitions at the Grace Museum, Abilene; Pearl Fincher MFA, Houston; Galveston Art Center; Imperial Center for the Arts, Rocky Mount, NC; Penn College of Technology - Penn State and Manifest Art Gallery, Cincinnati. Her upcoming solo exhibitions include Rudolph Blume Fine Art / Art Scan Gallery in conjunction with the 2019 Sculpture Month Houston and the Art Museum of South East Texas, Beaumont in 2020. She received her BFA in Painting from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1973. Smithers-Crump grew up on her family’s island in Canada and lived in the south Pacific in her early twenties. This early experience nurtured her respect and awe for nature. She maintains that the planet is her best educator. In "Silence is My Mother Tongue", the latest novel by Eritrean-Ethiopian writer Sulaiman Addonia, teen Saba and her brother Hagos arrive at a refugee camp in Sudan, where she is determined to continue her studies, while he is content to take care of her. The other Eritrean refugees bring their conservative views to the camp, especially when it comes to women. Addonia brings Saba to life through her fight to determine her own future, refusing the traditional restrictions imposed on her gender. "We need to take responsibility and accountability for the war we commit, especially against women," says Addonia, speaking of the struggle Saba has to assert herself, and her quest to finish her educaiton. "If there are crimes committed by women, or seem to be committed by women, they are extremely highlighted," he adds. Also included in this podcast: Helon Habila, Nigerian author of "Travelers", a novel coming out in June, speaks about his favorite book from the Heinemann African classics series.
This episode comes in response to Bette Midler's recent tweet, “Women are the n-words of the world.” We are witnessing the absolute co-opting of the historical trauma and terrorism sustained by Blacks in America . We are a people who've endured American slavery, sharecropping, Black codes, Jim Crow and today, we experience modern day lynchings. As others are hijacking our suffering to illustrate their hardships, we cannot ignore their implicit devaluing of our humanity. But I wonder - what will WE do to value ourselves and our interests? Below you will find Bette Midler's full tweet as well as partial lyrics from the song ‘Woman Is The Nigger Of The World,' by John Lennon. This is the song which she references in her tweet. Bette Midler's tweet: “'Women are the N-word of the world' Raped, beaten, enslaved, married off, worked like dumb animals; denied education and inheritance; enduring he pain and danger of childbirth and life IN SILENCE for THOUSANDS of years…They are the most disrespected creatures on earth.” Partial Lyrics from John Lennon's “Woman Is The Nigger of the World” Woman is the nigger of the world Think about it, do something about it We make her paint her face and dance If she won't be a slave, we say that she don't love us If she's real, we say she's trying to be a man While putting her down we pretend that she is above us Woman is the nigger of the world, yes she is Nurah Speaks is a weekly podcast that tugs at the soul and consciousness of the black community. In Silence is a short film about one Muslim American woman’s journey with pre-marital sex and the internal struggles of that decision. In the aftermath of her first night with Adam Layal encounters awkward conversations about sex in Islam and deals with the reality of her decisions within her community. She eventually runs into her lover and struggles with figuring out her boundaries in a relationship and what this means for her and her faith. Finally, Layal faces news that could change her life. The filmaker, Ruba had a goal to change the narrative, be a beacon of inspiration for Saudi artists and show the humanity of the Muslim community. We all have the power to make a difference within our communities and the best way to do that is to address issues we never want to discuss. By making In Silence, a subject is tackled from a Muslim point of view that many will not approve of but that is why it must be done. We can never move forward if we do not address the elephants in the room. One of the biggest issues we avoid is sex and this film brings this subject to life. “SOME LIKE IT SCOTT!” With The Family Beast still busy chewing on cigars with the big boys of Amazon “Optimus” Prime, mere minutes away from negotiating a deal that will see them broadcast into living rooms and pockets across the world, Gary Lactus is forced to do the one thing he didn’t want to do…. negotiate with the Skype-inept monsters of Mindless North for a second episode running. Despite the usual technical problems that occur when North and South try to get together – blame Nicola Sturgeon for nationalising Scottish Skype in a better reality! – Gary Lactus is joined by Illogical Volume and Mister Attack, their shirts wet with rain, their bellies full of macaroni and rage. Who sponsors Gary Lactus? Some guy called Dave. Who sponsors the sponsemen? Fuck it, I dunno, Geoff Johns probably. The gang discuss the recent Small Press Day, the life changing/band forming dangers of encountering strange works by shifty creators in darkened rooms and the explosive properties of turtles. Shifting effortlessly out of the classical forms he has already mastered and into the new realm of Perhaps, R. Gary R.R.R. Lactus presents his new science fiction masterpiece: A Westworld. The question of who the nicest Mindless One is raised again. Will Illogical Volume prove that he is actually a callow, cynical monster whose whole existence is a lie perpetrated against human decency by actually holding a twitter poll to determine whether people think he is nicer than Mister Attack? Only time will tell. In SILENCE!…Because The Film Has Started, Gary Lactus is surprised by Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the Scottish are grumpy about Marvel movies and enthusiastic about gingers and ants. With all the relevant admin taken care of, the trio dive arse-first into the Reviewniverse for purposeful wallow in the inky pleasures of comics. John Allison’s Giant Days, new non-hierarchical/anonymous arts project SLAB, Al Ewing, Dan Brown and Travel Foreman’s Ultimates 2 (which Illogical Volume has finally started to read!), Craig Collins’ Oubliette, Hot Trash Dimension and Ross Geller Fanzine, the cosy era of the Justice League, Gumby comics, and the wonderful info-comics produced by the University of Glasgow’s Wellcome Centre for Molecular Parasitology. After making a speedy exit from the Reviewniverse, the team take a brief detour through the pages of Show Call… …and tolerate Illogical Volume promoting Cut-Out Witch (drawn by the wonderful Lynne Henderson), Looking Glass Heights and Living Rent before heading off in search of more dinner.
While not always included in a list of Spiritual disciplines, the practice of Silence and Solitude do have their place in the process of helping us grow in relationship to Jesus Christ. In Silence and Solitude we come alone and silent before our glorious God of grace, not to find ourselves but to find Him, pursuing Him and listening for what He has to say to us through His Word as we pray, meditate and worship.

WALKING ON THE SIDEWALK, HOTTER THAN A MATCH-HEAD They took his family…they took his kids… they took his shoes… and his dinner. And they punched his dog. And slapped his goldfish. Then they finally took one thing too far. They took his podcast. Now, this cop-on-the edge, who doesn’t play by the rules, is telling his uptight boss where to get off, and doing things his way. With the help of his two best friends Right Fist and Left Fist, and his two older friend who he has a slightly strained relationship with, his Boots. He’s taking the law between his teeth and riding it like a pony with a lovely shiny mane. He’s come for justice and he’s doing it his way. He’s doing it… …IN SILENCE! The two! The two are back! After being marooned across opposite sides of the mirror-verse Gary Lactus & The Beast Must Die are here to bring you a classic slice of podcastery, talking up a comics sized, fully painted, foil-enhanced storm. Sponsorship? Sure why not – I’ll take two! Plus a bit of admin on the side. Full steam ahead! We’re heading for the Reviewniverse hand in hand, our larynx’s humming in harmony. The Beast talks up Tillie Walden’s The End Of Summer, then it’s on to Civil War II, Astonishing Ant Man, Future Quest, Josh Brayer’s Theth, Raymond Pettibon, Tank Girl: Two Girls One Tank, and so very much mooooooore! A bit of Backmin, with more info on The Earth-Pig Diaries and then we scoot off into the night.
