I have continued my recent bingeing of berlin-school electronic music. Devouring old and new music. So I was very excited when guest mixer Erwin Broers reached with a new berlin-school mix. Woo hoo! It's all new music, some of Erwin's favorites from 2024. I was familiar with about half of the artists some it was great to discover new music. I'll let Erwin tell you about the mix: "I was inspired by LLM end of the year mixes on ambient and jazz. I came up with the idea of doing something similar for the Berlin School subgenre. So I checked a few blogs and searched specialized web shops for the most interesting releases of 2024. The result is a near-2hr foray with lots of different styles and atmospheres, ranging from dark to uplifting, retro analog to modern digital, occasionally with a touch of electric guitar and percussions, but almost always with typical layers of sequencers and soundscapes. The influence of the pioneers of the genre, Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream, is still very much alive in some tracks, almost 50 years after their prime. Filtercafe and Sequentia Legenda obviously draw from that heritage. Most listeners will not like all the tracks, but it is a good introduction to what is being created in the contemporary Berlin School." Thanks for another great electronic mix. Look for another mix from Erwin coming next month. The book of Acts shares a story (not a prescription) of how the early church began. It's been a busy month again outside the music scene and with so many promos coming our way, decided that in the time we had between other projects would compile & release together two separate editions for November, giving us a breather for our last sessions of the year in December. Ten years ago, our podcasts were released on iTunes. We've had many requests from listeners who didn't use iTunes, saying they would like to hear early shows not available on any of the music sites we published on now (Soundcloud is popular). Your voices have been answered with the very first edition. Over time we will bring the missing podcasts up to date on those websites. Sequences was born out of the demise of the very first UK Electronic music audio magazine, Inkeys and the short-lived Syntrax and became a major UK electronic music magazine. Formed in 1991 as an audio cassette and no 14 to the finale issue in 2009, no 32 as a printed magazine/CD. In 2012 we published our podcasts on the internet, beginning with a nostalgic look at musicians featured on our CDs, which came with every issue of the printed magazines and not forgetting our early cassette tapes. Each edition was available on iTunes monthly. To date, this has increased nine more music sites, including Soundcloud, Player FM, Listennotes, Amazon Music, Modul 303 etc. Two editions each month, approx 3 hours per episode, including bio pages from no 30 as downloadable PDFs and in later editions, we featured an influential artist/group in one-off specials. Many of the tracks on this first edition from Steve Roach, Paul Ellis, Gert Emmens, etc., were unreleased at that time, donated by the musicians from our tenth-anniversary edition of Sequences magazine no27. The music included classic tracks of a diverse collection of electronics, from the ambience of Solitaire & Daniel Hohl, the sequencer fest of Steve Roach & Gert Emmens to synth-rock of Greg Bredan & Paul Ward's stunning mini Moog solo. Apologies for not hearing the female tones of our digital girl in the intro. It's a West Country accent I wouldn't say I liked hearing from those early podcasts, no names mentioned. Who appreciates the women in their lives? God created women so beautifully and uniquely and has always used them in His story of love. In the beginning, God created man and women in His own image, but as a result of the Fall, Eve lost her identity and Her voice. BUT THEN... Jesus came along and flipped the script, redeeming the past and redefining the future. In Scripture, we see Jesus welcoming women, talking to women, and defending women. YOU WERE MADE BY GOD.YOU WERE MADE IN HIS IMAGE.YOU ARE ROYAL.YOU WERE MADE TO BE THE RECIPIENT OF THE FATHER'S LOVE."So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” (Genesis 1:27-28)*Special thanks to Dr. Paul Ellis for his research and book entitled, "The Silent Queen." We would recommend this book for more in-depth study on this topic.Support the show (https://paypal.me/RickManis?locale.x=en_US)

A classic piece of electronic spacemusic from France by JEAN-MICHEL JARRE. With just a few notes, it creates a whole world of mystery and imagination. Slow, deep, romantic and sublime, it invites us into a place that's unknown and unpredictable, yet alluring. It's true that all good music takes you away, but since the 1970s artists have been using electronic tools to craft a sound that takes you to places far beyond the reach of ordinary music. Dark ambient electronics have become a vehicle...for transport to deep virtual worlds and exotic environments. On this transmission of Hearts of Space, a journey on the dark ambient spaceways, on a program called MYSTERIOSO. Music is by JEAN MICHEL JARRE, A PRODUCE & LOREN NERELL, PAUL ELLIS, MEG BOWLES, RICHARD BONE, ERIK WOLLO, KIT WATKINS, and ANDREW LAHIFF. ALLISON Really, Paul? PAUL and ALLISON ad-lib, anything can be said as they are not listening to each other CORAL You can't blame a soul for trying. Hop-on to this episode to learn and hear more on mentoring insights, thoughts and some value around how we can inspire young people in today’s society. KEY TAKEAWAYS Have a purpose. In life, you should always have a purpose if you want to have success; avoiding potential distraction that will will stop you being focused on your purpose. Do not focus on irrelevant things. If you want to succeed in life, focus on the things that make you better. Avoid putting labels on yourself. You should always try to be yourself every time if you want to succeed in life. Religion. Religion is the goodness of the heart, what colour you are is irrelevant. Do not focus on the small details but focus on your bigger goals. Different states. The first step is physical, the next step is mental, the next step is emotional and then the real hard one to come to terms with is spiritual. Prosperity is another pillar of success. Learn how to love yourself, how to forgive yourself and to make your life full of love. With this, you will be able to handle any challenge that may come your way even criticism from others. Intelligence and determination. This is also a contributor to success. Power of mentoring. You should always have mentors in your life if you want to succeed. Learn from the past and then leave it behind. BEST MOMENTS "Football or sport, in general, is a great reflection of who you are." “Be careful what you focus on because it can lift you but it can also destroy you.” “Mind your own business.” "Religion there is the goodness of the heart, what colour you are is irrelevant." “There’s a hierarchy of things in life.” “Big boys don't cry.” “I give to you. You don't give to me.” VALUABLE RESOURCES Speaking From Our HEARTS (Paul's Book): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Speaking-our-Hearts-Mastering-game/dp/1781332819 Emerging From The Forest (Paul's Book): Paul Lowe - ‘Emerging From The Forest’ ABOUT THE HOST Something that’s never been attached to Paul is the label ‘normal’ – for which he is immensely proud. He definitely subscribes to being one of those mentioned – in the Steve Jobs quote: “Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” Paul Lowe is the founder of PaulLoweHEARTS – which has a three-fold purpose. Firstly, to help you make the transition from Pain to Purpose; secondly, to get your inspirational messages and stories out into the world and thirdly, to support charitable organisations in their development & fund-raising. http://bloknayrb.deviantart.com/ a beginning an expedition is launched springs into being the journey begins This is a follow up to an earlier mix Leaving the Station, which had a train theme. I had several people ask if I was planning on a follow up and, well, here it is. My favorite track in this mix is El Divisadero by Chris Watson from his wonderful field recording album, El Tren Fantasma. I've used this track before but it's so awesome I just had to use it here. Another track in this mix that I've used before is Dialing in the Sun by Paul Ellis. It's an excellent berlin school cut that has this great clicky-clack sound that works perfectly here. The rest of the mix is a collection of old(Richard Pinhas) and new(Andy Stott) cuts. On a side note, I don't know if anyone has noticed but embedded in each mp3 for download is the mix tracklist. So if you're playing it on your phone or on some pc players, you should be able to see the tracklist when the mix is playing. Other mixes coming soon, or maybe I should say sometime this year, a sort of jazz mix, a new age massage mix, a sci fi mix, a dubby mix, a space rock mix, guest mixes and many more I haven't even thought of yet.
