Krysta's Website https://www.mommymadeuncut.com/cultiv... – Today I'm here with Corey and Krysta Madden, who run a company called I AM CAMP with Julie Canoy. I AM CAMP is a self development camp for children between the ages of 11-18 years old. Corey and Krysta have been married for 13 years and they have 2 children. Corey is also an army veteran. In this podcast, my wife Jacqueline and I interview them about their story, why they started to invest in I AM CAMP, and the experiences they've had with children (even their own!) in the program. I am the founder of The Elliott Group with my wife Jacqueline Elliott who is our CEO. Today, we have a 150 million dollar business, and we're on our way to a billion. If you don't believe you are qualified to have a big life...here is my story. At 18, I got into automotive sales and made a $1,700 commission on my first day. 19 years old, I made 225k in one year. 20 years old, I made my first 500k. The most I ever made before being promoted to a General Manager was 716k selling cars as a W-2 employee. As a GM, the most I made was 2.5 million in one year. In 2019 after 20+ years in the car business, my wife Jacqueline told me she learned to live without me and I decided I was built for more, was tired of settling and being "better than most" in all areas of life. God. Family. Physical. Mental. Business. I went PSYCHO in self development and totally re-created EVERYTHING in my life. Today, I live by example in everything that I do and my number one goal is to build the world's greatest leaders on planet Earth, and teach everyone how to sell, influence, and persuade, because NO money is ever made without sales. I see people everyday that have no idea what true potential is…well I do…And it's UNLIMITED! I am living proof of that! Imagine what your life would look like if you never had to worry about money again and your family was in a such a good place that if something ever happened to you they were taken care of because of the success you achieved and the person you became. If you want to make history and become a legend coaching with me, will make that happen guaranteed! I got your back for life, Andy Elliott

Today I talked to Anne Landau and Margaret Sinclair, the translators of Through the Morgue Door: One Woman's Story of Survival and Saving Children in German-Occupied Paris (U Pennsylvania Press, 2024) n 1934, at the age of fourteen, Colette Brull-Ulmann knew that she wanted to become a pediatrician. By the age of twenty-one, she was in her second year of studying medicine. By 1942, Brull-Ulman and her family had become registered Jews under the ever-increasing statutes against them enacted by Petain's government. Her father had been arrested and interned at the Drancy detention camp and Brull-Ulman had become an intern at the Rothschild Hospital, the only hospital in Paris where Jewish physicians were allowed to practice and Jewish patients could go for treatment. Under Claire Heyman, a charismatic social worker who was a leader of the hospital's secret escape network, Brull-Ulmann began working tirelessly to rescue Jewish children treated at the Rothschild. Her devotion to the protection of children, her bravery, and her imperviousness in the face of the deadly injustices of the Holocaust were always evident--whether smuggling children to safety through the Paris streets in the dead of night or defying officers and doctors who frighteningly held her fate in their hands. Ultimately, Brull-Ulmann was forced to flee the Rothschild in 1943, when she joined her father's resistance network, gathering and delivering information for De Gaulle's secret intelligence agency until the Liberation in 1945. In 1970, Brull-Ulmann finally became a licensed pediatrician. But after the war, like so many others, she sought to bury her memories. It wasn't until decades later when she finally started to speak publicly--not only about her own work and survival, but about the one child who affected her most deeply. Originally published in French in 2017, Brull-Ulmann's memoir fearlessly illustrates the horrors of Jewish life under the German Occupation and casts light on the heretofore unknown story of the Rothschild Hospital during this period. But most of all, it chronicles the life of a truly exceptional and courageous woman for whom not acting was never an option. Learn more about your ad choices. Each year, thousands of children go missing. The first 48 hours are critical for ensuring the return of a child. Whether they go missing from running away, kidnapping, or trafficking, children are especially vulnerable to exploitation and harm when away from home. Private Investigator and Founder of the Bringing Them Home Project Joe Carrillo understands the importance of that critical window and discusses how his organization works to locate children and explains what dangers pose the biggest threats to vulnerable children today. Later, Joe's granddaughter, Madison Ginebra discusses how she's working to raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking with her club, MAS Awareness. The Bringing Them Home Project is an organization dedicated to removing children from dangers they may face on the streets. By providing families with reunification services and counseling resources, the Bringing Them Home Project ensures the protection of vulnerable children. Southern Italy is home to some of Europe's most powerful criminal organisations; the Sicilian Mafia, the Camorra in Naples and the Ndrangheta based in Calabria. For many, crime is a family business. So a judge in Sicily has come up with a radical plan to prevent young people becoming the next generation of mobsters. He's been taking children away from Mafia families. This controversial policy is now being considered by other countries around the world. Daniel Gordon travels to Sicily to meet those involved in the programme and find out whether it actually works. This is The People's Voice - where we talk directly to the people. On this week's show: Adam and Steven are joined by ‘Papa' Brian Raven, who has established a refuge house for children extracted from human trafficking and abject poverty in Sumba in Indonesia. Papa Brian tells us about his work and his first-hand account of the conditions some children have to face. He also discusses the current political landscape in Australia and how he views that we are losing our national identity. This was one of our favourite interviews with a man of faith and passion. V4CR was founded in April of 2017. V4CR is dedicated to raising awareness about the epidemic of child sex trafficking right here in the United States, exposing this fastest growing criminal enterprise and putting predators behind bars. The mission of V4CR is three fold:• Nationwide alert: Provide nationwide attention to the prevalence of child sex trafficking that is rampant in all 50 states. It’s been six months since SA went into lockdown to stem the spread of Covid-19. In this episode, we reflect on the development of the disease that has turned our lives upside down and put the South African economy into ICU, looking back at the first deaths in the country and the strict lockdown. We speak to Western Cape Premier Alan Winde and Nick Hudson, outspoken member of PANDA, a thinktank of actuaries, mathematicians and other professionals who have identified holes in Covid-19 models used to inform government policy. Paediatric specialist Dr Andre Hattingh, who has been helping children who need urgent medical attention, speaks to BizNews reporter Linda van Tilburg. We also look at the people who have been infected with Covid-19 twice - and, we are reminded by Discovery’s co-founder Adrian Gore that innovation often emerges at times of crisis.

This episode of Wise Women Conversations Podcast is a little different from normal. The first difference is that I have a Wise Man on the podcast rather than a Wise Woman. The second difference is the topic - saving children from sex trafficking. I wish that I didn't have to have this conversation with Marc but the work that Marc does with Destiny Rescue is real and it is needed.Destiny Rescue is a Not-for-Profit organisation started in Australia over 18 years ago, and is dedicated to fighting the trafficking and sexual exploitation of children in seven nations. Their highly trained agents run covert and raid rescue operations, day and night to locate and rescue children being used and abused. With the ongoing support of generous donors, Destiny Rescue has successfully liberated over 5,200 individual victims of human trafficking. They have been instrumental in the closing of many bars, clubs and brothels known to be targeting children for sex work, and have seen numerous perpetrators prosecuted.Their tireless work has also helped keep hundreds more young ones from entering the sex trade through various local community prevention programs and delivered justice and care for those who have been rescued.I didn't say much in this episode because I felt that I needed to be quiet and let Marc share the story of these children. By the end of the episode I was in tears. If there is anything that you can do to assist please visit www.destinyrescue.org and either give a one time gift or help to rescue a child.
The COVID-19 pandemic has delivered a new normal no one is happy with, creating economic, mental and physical hardships for so many people. One group being overlooked, however, are the children. The change of what was normal has been a strain on kids in a good family setting, but what of those who struggle every day as the children of a parent or parents addicted to alcohol and/or drugs?
Mike is a licensed substance abuse counselor and family education life coach. In his private practice, Mike helps parents save their children from addiction. His knowledge and passion comes from his own recovery in 1978 and his successful career of helping other addicts and alcoholics in residential treatment centers since 1988. Mike is also the founder of PAL, Parents of Addicted Loved-ones, a support group of parents helping parents and he is the author of The Four Seasons of Recovery for Parents of Alcoholics and Addicts. His book is designed to guide parents through the predictable (but often unknown) stages that addicts and alcoholics go through to finally achieve a successful life-long recovery. Mike is a 76 year resident of Arizona. He lives with his wife Karen in Phoenix and they have two grown children and 3 grandchildren. Episode overview: The structure of hopelessness, how to know when an addict is really ready to do the work of recovery, the 4 T's of a quality Recovery Program. Former CIA Intelligence Special Operations Group Officer and now, Spokesperson on Homeland Security and terrorism, Bazzel Baz, doesn’t brood about political correctness. With the left cramming their agendas down our throats and threats to many people who "dare" to fly the American flag ( yes, people have been threatened to remove their flags )--there's no time to be politically correct, or soft. With the threat of war with Iran looming and securing the Southern borders becoming a nightmare, Baz tells us the cold-hard truth and inside secrets about American politics and more. ##### Bazzel Baz is well-known globally for his expertise and extraordinary skillset. Author of the Terrorism Survival Handbook, he has been called on by CNN and MSNBC as an advisor and spokesperson on the war on Terrorism and Homeland Security. He is also a film and television writer, producer and actor, and is a member of the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild (had a role on the hit television show Blacklist and more). Baz travels nationally and internationally as a spokesperson among corporate leaders, law enforcement agencies, educational institutes and on network television. Baz is a former CIA Intelligence Special Operations Group Officer, a Citadel graduate, recipient of the Intelligence Commendation Medal and a former counter-terrorism officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. It's a health and demographic surveillance system site situated here in Guinea-Bissau. Bandim Health Project follows a population of more than 200,000 individuals in urban and rural Guinea-Bissau. This provides a Unique platform for conducting health research. It was founded by the Danish anthropologist Peter Aaby. He came to Bissau in 78 and set out to understand the reasons for the high mortality among children in Guinea-Bissau. At that time every second child died before it was five years. Peter Aaby began to register and monitor the population in the suburb Bandim - and so he created a unique research station, the Bandim Health Project. The project is the oldest of its kind in Africa, and one of the largest. One night he and his wife Svetlana - a wonderful African woman - invited me to eat with his colleagues. Officially it's called the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. It covers 36,125 km² (nearly 14,000 sq mi) with an estimated population of 1,9 million. When it was declared independent in 1973 and recognised in 1974, the name of its capital, Bissau, was added to the country's name to prevent confusion with Guinea (formerly French Guinea). Most of the population speaks Crioulo, it's a Portuguese-based creole language, and the rest speak a variety of native African languages. It's a very poor country. The country's per-capita gross domestic product is one of the lowest in the world. Even before devastating earthquakes hit Nepal and surrounding territory in April and May of 2015, the plight of numerous children in that Himalayan nation was desperate. Many young children were being sold by their parents to work in Indian factories; young girls were often forced into prostitution. The Blue Butterfly Foundation, created by Lauren Yanks, has helped save over 2,000 children from trafficking, the use of force or fraud to cause humans to provide labor or sex against their will. In this radio interview, Ms. Yanks tells the powerful story of how the Blue Butterfly Foundation was founded and named. She urges listeners to become aware that their pursuit of evermore inexpensive items and food is contributing to this international tragedy. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/radiorotary/support
The guest on this week’s show was Pleasant Valley Rotary President and RN Kathy Kruger, who describes Rotaplast (Rotary + Plastic Surgery), a program that heals children with cleft palate or cleft lip around the world. Cleft palate is literally a hole in the roof of the mouth and cleft lip is one or two splits in the lip, which may extend all the way up a child’s face. A Rotaplast team of usually 15 professional surgeons, dentists, and nurses supported by another 15 nonprofessional volunteers travels to a third-world country where they are supported by a local Rotary club as they perform the operations over a 2- to 3-week period. Kathy tells also of her experience from a 2007 trip to the Philippines where she was a nurse volunteer, and concludes the interview by reading a remarkable thank-you letter from one the children served. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/radiorotary/support

Sally Becker is back on the podcast, talking about her current work and latest missions to Mosul. Sally's charity Road to Peace really needs your help to pay for medical supplies for severely malnourished children in the war zone. Sally tells about the most difficult mission she's ever been on, the dangers she and the doctor accompanying her, Dr. Marino Andolina, face when there, and the extreme hardships the people suffer there from ISIS attacks. If you visit Sally's website: RoadtoPeace.org.uk (https://www.roadtopeace.org.uk) you will see photographs and videos of the children she has already helped to receive medical help in the US, and those for whom the help is too late. This is a cause where all of the funds you send go directly to the needy people. No middle man. Sir Nicholas Winton and Alan Overton.Several newspapers this week reported the death of Sir Nicholas Winton who saved hundreds of Jewish refugee children from Czechoslovakia in 1938. The Jerusalem Post, for example, had this: "Seeing the desperate plight of the Jews in the German-controlled Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia, Winton immediately set up a makeshift office in his hotel room in Prague and began receiving parents who were desperate to get their children to the safety of Britain - the only country that was willing to take in Jewish children from Nazi-ruled countries, but with several provisos. They had to come without their parents, the children - or kinder - could not be aged above 17, and a £50 guarantee, per child, was required to cover the costs of their eventual return to their country of origin when that became possible. Naturally, no one considered the possibility that the children's parents would not still be alive at that point."

Today's guest is Sam Caster of EM Squared and Jon Copper of Nutrition on Mission. Sam Caster "In 1998, founders Sam and Linda Caster donated to an orphanage organization based in Romania. When the directors of that organization thanked the Casters for their contribution, they expressed their growing concerns for the children in their care. Malnutrition was taking its ruthless toll on their lives. In desperation, the directors said, “If you know anyone that can help us with this problem, please let us know.” With the world’s most advanced nutritional and wellness technology at their fingertips, Sam and Linda donated a one year supply of nutrient support. One year later, the directors came back wanting more and out of the direct need, MannaRelief was born. A little over a decade later with thousands of people around the world joining together, we’re addressing the problem of malnutrition for children everywhere." Jon Copper "I am a Social Entrepreneur. I started Nutrition On Mission with the intent of creating a sustainable business model to nourish children with malnutrition, as well as create micro-enterprise opportunities in those same communities we nourish children."
