In this episode of The Rainmaking Podcast, Scott Love speaks with Andy Buyting, author of Double Sales, Zero Salespeople, about how professionals in service industries can gain a competitive edge by strategically researching the competition. Andy breaks down a detailed, data-driven approach using platforms like SEMrush to analyze traffic sources, keyword effectiveness, and competitor performance—distinguishing between direct and aspirational competitors. He emphasizes the value of identifying non-branded keywords (those not tied to a specific company name) to capture inbound traffic from prospects searching for solutions to existing problems. Andy also shares compelling examples of companies that unlocked untapped markets by targeting overlooked search terms, such as “landlord insurance” or “how to write an RFP for a firetruck.” He encourages professionals to think like their prospects and align website messaging with customer fears and motivations. Key action steps include analyzing competitors, getting creative with keyword strategy (even bidding on competitor names), and refining website content to convert traffic effectively. The episode concludes with an introduction to Andy's firm, Tulip Media, which offers digital marketing and custom publishing services for professional firms. You'll learn: The psychology behind proposal writingWhy less is often more in a proposalHow to tailor your messaging for different client typesWhat to include (and what to leave out!)How to position yourself as a partner, not a vendor If you're looking to elevate your pitch game and increase your close rate, this is the episode for you.
For this episode of Sell With Authority we're zeroing in on something every agency needs — trust at scale. Not vanity metrics. Not louder messaging in an already crowded feed. Real credibility — earned in public — where your right-fit clients are watching, judging, and deciding whether you're the expert worth hiring. The noise isn't going away. And if you've been putting in the work — creating content, showing up on the right channels, following all the authority-building advice — but your pipeline still feels sluggish or unpredictable, you might be stuck in what we call “yelling in a crowded arena.” And that's exactly why today's conversation matters. According to Edelman's 2025 Trust Barometer, nearly 70% of buyers say they've made a purchasing decision based on what they saw in public forums — reviews, comments, even how companies respond. Your agency's reputation, and your clients' reputations, are being shaped long before any discovery call gets booked. Your authority position isn't just your content — it's how you show up in conversations that are already happening online. What if you could help your agency — and your right-fit clients — show up more consistently, more authentically, and with more trust, without burning out your team? That's why I'm excited to introduce today's guest George Swetlitz, co-founder of RightResponse AI. George isn't just another SaaS founder chasing trends. He knows how to lead teams, implement systems, and grow by solving real problems — repeatably. His mission now is giving agencies a way to scale review response, build trust across platforms, and mine authentic insight — all without sacrificing the human touch. If you're looking for a smarter way to earn authority… If you want to build trust before that first meeting is even on the calendar… And if you're curious how AI can actually help you do more with less — this conversation with George is one you don't want to miss. What you will learn in this episode: Why your authority position is decided before you ever get a meeting The moment when reviews and responses become the “make or break” for customer conversion A behind-the-scenes look at big AI vs. little AI How reviews, competitor analysis, and the “recency effect” can future-proof your authority in pitches and client retention Quantitative strategies to use reviews as data Why your website isn't the center of your reputation universe How to step into a sales pitch armed with hard data about a prospective client's competitive landscape Resources: Website: https://www.rightresponseai.com/ LinkedIn Personal: https://www.linkedin.com/in/george-swetlitz-7b43812/ LinkedIn Business: https://www.linkedin.com/company/rightresponse-inc/

Trang discusses common challenges her clients face—including public speaking anxiety, team leadership, and building personal brands—and emphasizes that 93% of a message's impact lies in its delivery rather than just words. She outlines her approach to mindset, articulation, and vocal presence, and offers compelling case studies of clients who have achieved remarkable business growth through improved speaking skills. Trang also shares a practical tip: record and review your own speaking to uncover opportunities for impactful improvement. Key Takeaways for Small Business Owners: Your Voice Is a Business Asset: Effective communication isn't just a soft skill—it directly impacts your ability to lead, sell, and influence. Learning to use your voice with clarity and confidence can elevate your brand and business. 93% of Communication Is Non-Verbal: Trang emphasizes that how you say something—your tone, pace, body language, and energy—has a far greater impact than the words themselves. Delivery drives trust, authority, and connection. Mindset Shapes Your Message: Many entrepreneurs struggle with self-doubt and imposter syndrome. Building the confidence to be seen and heard is foundational to becoming a compelling communicator and leader. Our hero crafts outstanding reviews following the experience of listening to our special guests. Are you the one we've been waiting for? Tailor Your Speaking Style: There's no one-size-fits-all solution. Trang works with clients individually to help them refine their unique speaking style—whether that means slowing down, speaking up, or pausing more intentionally. Leadership Requires Clear Communication: Business owners who lead small teams must learn to communicate with a balance of warmth and authority. Mastering hard conversations and motivational messaging is crucial for team growth. Practice with Purpose: Trang recommends a simple but powerful exercise: record a 2-minute video of yourself speaking and review it after a day. This builds self-awareness and helps you identify key areas to improve delivery and presence. One action small business owners can take: According to Trang Nova, one action a small business owner should take is to record a 2-minute video of themselves speaking—whether introducing their business or sharing a story — and watch it the next day to identify areas for improving clarity, confidence, and delivery. Hi everyone, Carl Gould here with your #70sec0ndCEO. Just a little over a one-minute investment every day for a lifetime of results. How many of you have hired a contractor who said, if I don't perform, if you perform as the client, but I don't perform as the contractor, you get to keep the whole thing, and I give you all your money back? How many of you have hired contractors that have done that? Buy a show of hands. No hands, does that mean zero? Zero. So, if I gave you a proposal, who am I competing with? No one. Now, think about it. I charge a 35% premium for that. Now, what if you said, all right, that's pretty ballsy, Carl, but I'm not paying your 35% premium. What would you think of me as a contractor if I even offered it? Would you think, oh, this guy's incompetent and has no clue what he's doing? Or would you say, hmm, he's pretty confident about his process? If he's offering this out to other people, he must be pretty good. He must at least think he can put his money where his mouth is and he could perform. Which do you think more of? Would you think that I'm likely more competent, higher level, better quality? Or would you think just on that alone, I'm less competent, less quality, and likely going to fail? Which one do you think going in, I'm more likely to be? Higher quality, lower quality. Like and follow this podcast so you can learn more. My name is Carl Gould, and this has been your #70secondCEO.

The greatest challenges for any business include figuring out how to make their product or service stand out amidst a competitive field, attract clients, and drive sales. While large companies may have adequate resources to invest in building a widely recognized brand, most small and medium-sized businesses must rely on marketing strategies that will quickly yield results. John Dwyer, our guest in Episode 225 of The Mindset Game® podcast, is a marketing enigma – a direct response customer attraction expert who thinks way outside of the box. With a mantra that one's marketing needs to “wow” prospects, John's consultancy business is called the Institute of Wow. He helps business owners understand how to exploit platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn by implementing incentive-based marketing offers that can be targeted specifically to certain audiences. He is also known for shocking the marketing world by convincing Jerry Seinfeld to come out of retirement! In this week's episode, John discusses the following: Why offering incentives for your customers is more effective than other common strategies, such as lowering prices – particularly when the incentives are based on a keen understanding of your target clientele The importance of surrounding yourself with positive people who ask “why not?” instead of “why?” and encourage you to never give up, regardless of the circumstances The 5 components of direct response marketing: highlight someone's problem; aggravate that problem; offer the solution (buying from your business); provide proof, such as testimonials from other clients; and use a strong call to action To access a free digital copy of John's Wow Manifesto, visit www.wowmanifesto.com/gift. In April 2023 I had 619 subscribers on YouTube (After years of being on it) My channel was a literal ghost town that produced 0 leads for my business But later that same year, (2023) I was adding over 1,000 new subscribers per month, winning new clients (5 figure deals) directly from my YouTube channel, and my videos were gaining traction by the day. The transformation was so significant in such a short period of time it actually surprised me This all came after looking in the mirror and realizing I needed to stop messing around and make some serious strategic shifts to my B2B YouTube strategy I had already been winning new business from LinkedIn and TikTok for years now, but those are a daily grind (Especially LinkedIn) The crazy part about my YouTube videos, is they're getting watched (And generating leads) MONTHS and even YEARS after I post them
If you're here, you're probably aware that LinkedIn is an absolute goldmine for your business. Or at least it should be. Unfortunately, most B2B companies that post content on LinkedIn, still struggle to generate consistent inbound leads and new clients from their content. I've spent the last several years consistently winning clients on LinkedIn (Through content) and have helped dozens and dozens of companies do the same. I hold nothing back in this video and provide the exact blueprint on how to dominate LinkedIn in 2024 and beyond! If you're ready to start seeing real inbound leads and revenue through your LinkedIn content, get ready to start taking some notes here! Here are just some of the key takeaways you'll get from watching this video: 1.) How to Craft a Winning LinkedIn Content Strategy Understanding Your Audience: Your content needs to resonate deeply with your audience on multiple levels. Begin by categorizing your potential clients into two groups: those unaware of their problem and those seeking solutions. Tailor your content to address these specific stages of their journey. Content That Converts: Shift from promoting your products to focusing on what your dream clients need to see. What content would make them find you credible and trustworthy? What information would nudge them towards taking the next step with your business? Reverse Engineering Success: Study the content strategies of successful businesses. Often, they prioritize value and relevance over direct promotion. Emulate this approach to engage your target audience effectively. 2.) Learn the exact type of content to post in order to attract your dream clients Text Posts: While easy and quick to create, text posts have limitations. They're great for sharing quick insights but lack the depth required for building strong relationships. Use them wisely to share thought leadership and industry insights. Visual Storytelling: Images and graphics add an emotional layer to your content. Whether it's a story about your business journey or client success stories, visuals make your content more engaging and relatable. Video Content: The most powerful tool in your LinkedIn arsenal. Videos allow you to showcase your expertise and personality. Keep them short, engaging, and packed with value right from the start. 3.) How to Master the LinkedIn Algorithm Engagement and Community: Unlike platforms with interest-based algorithms, LinkedIn prioritizes content based on your network and engagement. Actively engage with your connections to increase the visibility of your posts. Dwell Time and Interaction: The LinkedIn algorithm values the time spent on your content and the depth of interactions. Encourage meaningful conversations in your comments section to boost engagement. 4.) Generating Inbound Leads with Strategic Content Targeted Content Creation: Select content that directly speaks to the needs of your dream clients. Whether it's a story, a how-to guide, or an educational piece, make sure it's tailored to your target audience.
