In this week's episode we're answering one of YOUR questions with a combination of expert tips and personal experience. The Question: "I'm in my mid-20s now, but I still feel like my breakup from high school is affecting the way I show up in relationships. Like… my attachment style, my trust issues, the way I react when someone pulls away. It all kind of traces back to that first heartbreak. Shouldn't I be over it by now? It feels silly sometimes, but it also feels so real. Am I broken or is this just… a thing?" What We Cover in This Episode: The breakup that still haunts you (yes, that one). We revisit the heartbreaks that shaped us and why your pain from that relationship is still valid. Why your younger self didn't need to “know better." A compassionate reframe for those moments when you look back and think, “Why didn't I know better?” (Spoiler: it wasn't your job to know. It was your job to do the best you could with what you had.) Validation is not weakness—it's healing. We talk about why needing to feel seen in your pain isn't dramatic, it's human. Unpacking what breakups really bring up (hint: it's not just about your ex). From attachment wounds to trust issues, we explore how heartbreak echoes in other areas of life. How to offer yourself the compassion you never got. Step-by-step reflections on how to talk to yourself like someone you deeply care about. Letting go with grace and a little bit of rage. We normalize the complexity of closure and what it actually takes to move forward. Creating rituals that honor your healing. Whether it's a playlist, a letter, or a literal ceremony, we explore ways to mark the end of a chapter. Why your sadness makes sense. A gentle reminder that you don't have to defend or downplay your grief—especially when no one else understood it at the time. Resources: Get The Hot Girl Closure Ceremony Downloadable HERE! We continue to be gaslit into thinking two semi okay episodes in a row is like a gift from the heavens, but we will also continue to be slightly optomistic! Those few episodes of the slowest exposition on earth has finally started to pay off with some ACTUAL storylines. Now, mind you, the stories we ACTUALLY would love to see explored in greater detail, such as LTW's immediate work crush on Marion, or Carrie and Miranda living together "Odd Couple Style") are opened up and then immediately dumped minutes later, but at least we get gilmmers of the original series every so often, and at this point, we will take those moments happily and beg for more! Harry has prostate cancer (no mention of years-long friend Steve, who might be able to relate) so at least Charlotte has something more to do than walk a dog around central park and chop vegetables in her kitchen while Anthony looks on. We also get a couple texts with Samantha, which made us feel safe again, for one shining minute of television. Also, we see lots of nudity, and we can always appreciate that. Dr. Naomi is ready to embark on her Hawaiian vacation but before she can jet set away, Jordana has an important question for the seasoned therapist: Do men and women approach therapy differently? They get deep about the differences between the two sexes and how they tap into their emotional selves and Dr. Naomi brings some anecdotal evidence to prove that women might be a little more wired to work on themselves than their male counterparts. The Overshare of the week comes from a listener who was recently blessed with a pregnancy but is reeling after her sister in law spilled the tea to literally her entire baby shower despite explicit instructions not to. Speaking of secrets, the Betchicist comes in with a moral conundrum around gun ownership when one woman is scared to divulge that her ex-military beau not only has a gun, but that he keeps one in the house. Is she required to tell her friends before they come over? Dr. Naomi helps set an intention for a Betch that is moving into greener career pastures but is feeling a little heartsick about the colleagues she's leaving behind. Finally they explore two triggered scenarios, one around a seemingly innocuous comment about “healthy babies” that left one mom spinning and another about how an innocuous concert invite turned into an unforeseen $100 expense for one Betch.
