The "Apostate Prophet" Ridvan Aydemir joins the show to break down the doctrine of Muslim supremacy, and how Islam sees itself as a conquering ideology that will inevitably control all aspects of global life — which it will achieve through deception, mass immigration, and finally by overt colonization. Today we look at how we can pray for the persecuted Christians in Iran, and other Muslim-majority nations, where believers are isolated and word is scarce. Hebrews 13:3 is a good reminder in these situations, as well. I'm your China travel guide, Missionary Ben. Follow me on Twitter/X (@chinaadventures) where I share a new Chinese city or county to pray for every single day. Please send any questions or comments to our new, secure email: chinacompass@privacyport.com. You can also find China Compass on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/c/chinacompass), which not only allows for donations, but also lets me sort episodes into various collections, making it easier to find all the shows on a certain topic or person. Everything else we are involved in can be found at PrayGiveGo.us! Why the Prison Pulpit? The goal is to remind people to pray for persecuted believers as Hebrews 13:3 teaches: “Remember those who are in prison, as bound with them.” We’ve looked at Wang Yi and Early Rain Church’s writings in the aftermath of their arrest and attack in 2018, but I’ve also regularly turned to other persecuted ministers who have gone before, such as Richard Wurmbrand, to give us a voice literally from prison. "Timlar Kovalchuk" (Koh-vul-chook) (A pseudonym used to protect him and others.) has been actively involved as a missionary in evangelism for many years to Muslims in Central Asia. Jim began by mentioning a sobering text he recently received from Timlar. It began with Hebrews 13:3: "Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." The text also talked about a contact in Central Asia and how 11 brothers in Christ had been martyred. Government forces are raping women and children, especially targeting Christians. Additionally, the main market in Iran was torched to teach a lesson to the merchants whom the Ayatollah blames the uprising on. Timlar brought more details for listeners, noting that believers are always target number one due to the fact that with faith in Christ also comes a love for God's people and Israel. Many are killed, with most being men. The women are violated and their bodies burned to dispose of the evidence. What's going on appears to be at Stalin, Hitler or Mao levels, or as Timlar indicated, it's at least at the beginning stages. So listen to this program and get the on-the-ground information you won't get elsewhere, including Timlar's update on Ukraine.
President Trump signed a $1.2 trillion bill to end the government shutdown. The funding for DHS lasts for 14 days as Democrats continue with a bunch of outrageous demands. Bill and Hillary Clinton will testify before Congress, which will be made available to the public. Congressman Chip Roy has been fighting to safeguard our elections since 2024, now his more robust Save America Act is a new and improved version of the widely supported SAVE Act. The bill adds a Voter ID requirement for voting in federal elections while maintaining the original bill's proof-of-citizenship requirement for voter registration. It will be up to Senate Leader Thune to bring this to the Senate floor and create a verbal filibuster. This will be where Democrats have to take the floor and explain to the American people why having and ID to vote and proof of US citizenship to vote is a bad idea. CNN has already blown the lid off of this argument as roughly 80% of Americans agree that voter ID should be required. Of all places, Texas is ground zero for an uprising of Islam and a stronghold of the Muslim brotherhood. Congressman Roy looks to places like London and Paris, which have been overrun by Muslims as a warning to what will happen in America. A bio-lab in Las Vegas ran by Chinese nationals was raided recently. Inside the lab they found blood, tissue and other bodily fluid samples and serums; and thousands of vials of unlabeled fluids and suspected biological material. Investigators also found "pathogen-labeled containers” with labels such as “dengue fever,” “HIV,” and “malaria,” the report said, along with 1,000 mice. Congressman Chip Roy unpacks the Save America act and the future of our elections and our country. Featuring: Rep. However, across London, Muslim take over entire streets to pray and Islamic prayer rings out across the City - while Christian Street preachers get arrested. This is England now. “If we let Christian's parade through London - Local Muslims will attack them” “So we are going to remove the right of British Christians” In Britain Christian Gatherings such as ‘The ‘Walk for Jesus' for fear of their safety.BRITAIN: THE WAR ON CHRISTIANITY JUST WENT NEXT LEVELWhat Does God's Word Say? 2 Corinthinas 5:20-2120 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[b] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.Romans 13 Submission to Governing Authorities13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.2 Peter 3:11-1811 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[b] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

So far, there are no records of Nigerian military entering the massive network of these torture camps. Horrifically, stories abound of Christians being tortured by Muslim terrorists with whips for hours until they are dead. The extremists have also severed the heads and other body parts of Christians. Please pray for the physical safety of our Nigerian brothers and sisters in Christ. Epstein file release leads to resignation of British homosexual politician Over the weekend, disgraced British politician Peter Mandelson resigned his position in the Labour Party after more revelations came out of his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and alleged violations of the Seventh Commandment with girls, reports the BBC. Mandelson was also a well-known homosexual, who faux married a man, violating God's laws relating to improper relations with men. He served as British Ambassador to the United States last year, a member of the House of Lords, Secretary of State, and Lord President of the Council under Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Job 4:8 reminds us that “those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same.” Hillary Clinton aims at Doug Wilson, Allie Stuckey, & Mike Johnson Former First Lady and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton went after Reformed Pastor Douglas Wilson in a January 29th op-ed column in The Atlantic. She accused the pastor of opposing suffrage for women, advocating theocracy, and associating with War Secretary Pete Hegseth. She lumped Allie Beth Stuckey, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Doug Wilson's Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches into the same basket of what she called “Christian nationalists.” She lamented the sharp decline in participation and membership in mainstream liberal churches. She called for “empathy” in government, referring to Jesus's comments to turn the other cheek, but had nothing to say about Romans 13. She said she opposes tyranny and embraces homosexual and transgender rights. And she decried Trump's immorality, but had nothing to say about Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein in the opinion piece. Trump announces trade deal with India On Monday, President Donald Trump announced a trade deal with India, reports The Epoch Times. The United States would reduce import tariffs from 50% to 18% — a 25% relief if India agrees to stop imports of Russian oil. The Afghanistan Taliban government reintroduced slavery On January 27th, U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Jim Risch announced that the Afghanistan Taliban government has re-incorporated slavery in the country. The new Afghan criminal procedure code issued in January also provides the Taliban government with “broad and dangerous authority to kill opponents, critics, and human rights activists under this designation, without guaranteeing the right to defense and fair trial,” according to Rawadari.org. Quite the opposite of the Islamic vision for the world, Jesus has come “To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18,19) “Jelly Roll” glorified Jesus Christ at the Grammys This year's Grammy Awards ceremony, which recognizes achievement in the music industry, came and went again, with its typical outrageous, scandalous presentations, leftist political bias, and demoralizing and anti-social content. But one country music personality by the name of Jason DeFord, known as Jelly Roll, stood out from the crowd for a minute or two, when he addressed the audience. Listen. DEFORD: “I know they're gonna try to kick me off here, so just let me try to get this out. There was a time in my life, y'all that I was, I was broken. That's why I wrote this album. I didn't think I had a chance, y'all. There was days that I thought the darkest things. I was a horrible human. “There was a moment in my life that all I had was a Bible this big, and a radio the same size, and a six by eight-foot cell. And I believe that those two things could change my life. I believe that music had the power to change my life, and God had the power to change my life. “And I want to tell y'all right now: Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by no music label. Jesus is Jesus, and anybody can have a relationship with Him. I love you, Lord.” Every now and then, the truth slips out. Jelly Roll won a Grammy for the Best Contemporary Country Album entitled “Beautifully Broken,” reports Forbes. 13-year-old boy swam 4 hours off Australian coast to save family And finally, a 13-year-old boy saved his mother and two siblings who had drifted off the coast of Australia last Friday by swimming four kilometers, reports the BBC. The 13-year-old swam the first two hours with his life jacket on. That was slowing him down, so he ditched it, and swam the last two hours without it. The family had been paddle-boarding and kayaking off the coast of Western Australia, when strong winds pushed them out to sea. The boy made it to shore by 6:00 pm. Two and a half hours later, a rescue helicopter spotted the mom with her 12-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter at 8:30 pm. The Marine Rescue Group commended the young man for his “bravery, strength and courage.” Paul Bresland, commander of the group, called the feat “superhuman.” And an inspector, James Bradley, said, "The actions of the 13-year-old boy cannot be praised highly enough. His determination and courage ultimately saved the lives of his mother and siblings." 2 Chronicles 15:7 says, “But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, February 3rd, in the year of our Lord 2026. Today, they're one of the largest Christian populations in Indonesia, with over 6 million believers. The transformation happened because someone, a German missionary named Ludwig Nommensen, decided their spiritual poverty was unacceptable. That was 190 years ago. Today, 4,473 people groups are still waiting for their Ludwig Nommensen moment. The People Group Adoption Program launches today, and here's how it works: It meets you where you are. You're not being asked to become a missionary in the field (though if God calls you to that, we'll cheer you on). You're being invited to use your current gifts, prayer, advocacy, networking, research to support those who are already called to go.

Omar Zaheer (Survivor, Traitors Canada): Let It Suck | Pod Friends This week on Pod Friends, Matt Scott (@MattScottGW) sits down with Omar Zaheer (Survivor 42, The Traitors Canada) for an honest conversation about identity, belonging, grief, and the subtle ways we learn to make ourselves smaller just to feel safe. Omar reflects on growing up Muslim and Indian, becoming a chronic people-pleaser, and finding community through Survivor and RHAP long before stepping into the spotlight himself. He opens up about heartbreak, losing his father, professional burnout as a veterinarian, and what it took to stop waiting for something external to save him and begin healing on his own terms. Together, Matt and Omar unpack the reality-TV experience — the edit, backlash, panic attacks, and standing up for a friend even when it came at a cost — before closing with reflections on community, integrity, and choosing to take up space. If you've ever felt pressure to shrink or disappear to belong, this episode is a reminder that healing isn't linear — and you don't have to disappear to be worthy. Protests have been going on for weeks across the nation of Iran. The Islamic government has cut off communication networks and attacked protestors; thousands have been killed. Dr. Mike Ansari, a board member of the World Iranian Christian Alliance and the outgoing CEO of Heart4Iran, joins VOM Radio this week with an update on the current situation in Iran and how persecuted Christians are still demonstrating Christ's light and loving their neighbors even as the entire country is in turmoil. As happened during previous protests in Iran, Christians were among the first to be targeted by authorities. The Revolutionary Guard and Iranian government leaders see followers of Christ—especially those from a Muslim background—as apostate traitors to their nation and the Islamic Revolution. Dr. Ansari says despite being targeted for Christian persecution followers of Jesus are boldly serving and spreading the light of Christ. Some Christians are even risking arrest to bring injured protestors into their own homes to care for them. Learn what life is like for Christians in Iran right now, and how the government is using this organic uprising to target and persecute Christian believers. Dr. Ansari will also introduce listeners to the World Iranian Christian Alliance, and share how this movement is uniting Iranian Christian leaders to increase unity, cooperation and serve as a voice for Iranian Christians. He'll also give us specific ways to pray for our Iranian brothers and sisters in Christ right now. You can get a copy of Dr. Mike Ansari's book entitled Heart4Iran: The Forbidden Stories here. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily in 2026 for persecuted Christians in nations like North Korea, Nigeria and Bangladesh, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content and feature films. I did a quick trip update at the start, including a brief discussion of how to get yourself stuck in ice when you are 54 feet long and 13.5 feet tall and weigh 24,000 pounds. But most of the program was a discussion of last night's dialogue with Dr. Yasir Qadhi at the mosque in Flower Mound, what we discussed, and, more importantly, how we approach the task of being a Christian witness to our Muslim friends and neighbors. Then I discussed the slanderous video produced by @onlythus on Instagram, and reposted by @AlexDuncanTX lying about Dr. Qadhi in a very obvious and surface level way, and how this is utterly in opposition to Christian calling and practice. Finally, at the end of the hour, I commented on Joel Webbon's lame response to Doug Wilson and his incessant use of the "victim card."

Urdu Friday Sermon delivered by Khalifa-tul-Masih on January 30th, 2026 (audio)
On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, in 1997 Justice Antonin Scalia spoke on Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony in 1997. He addresses the Holocaust, Germany and western civilization. This show serves as a strong defense against the growing threat of Marxists, Islamists, and neo-fascists in the country. There's focus on these groups and figures like Tucker Carlson and Zohran Mamdani because there may come a day when our voices are silenced and unable to speak out. Dangerous voices are active today among podcasters, politicians, imams, and organizations like CAIR. CAIR and its executive director seek to destroy America. Texas, Florida and United Arab Emirates destinated CAIR as a terrorist organization and a front group for Hamas and executive director Nihad Awad walks around America freely. Also, the Iranian regime under Khomeini must be toppled and destroyed rather than negotiated with. Diplomacy is ineffective against an evil regime whose ideology demands the destruction or enslavement of obstacles (including Americans and non-compliant Muslims.) It's necessary to take action and obliterate Khomeini and his inner circle to prevent future nuclear threats. A new poll shows that MAGA doesn't want Khomeini. Later, new video reveals a clearer picture of Alex Preti showing him in a prior violent confrontation with ICE agents, where he spits on and kicks federal officials' vehicle. The media narrative has been a lie. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
WARNING: This episode contains conversations about suicide and suicide ideation and may not be suitable for all listeners/viewers. How do you experience Jesus fully after coming to Christ? How can you continue to experience Him when life is full of pain and difficulties?Naeem Fazal has an incredibly powerful testimony of how he first encountered Christ. Born into a Muslim family, Naeem experienced a supernatural experience as a young adult that forever changed the trajectory of his life. The cost was significant as he grew to know Jesus more intimately—eventually becoming a pastor—and faced being disowned by his loved ones. Later, he walked through his father's attempted suicide and the sudden loss of his brother-in-law, moments that ultimately allowed him to show his family how they, too, could encounter Jesus in a personal and transformative way. In his bookTomorrow Needs You: Seeing Beauty When You Feel Hopeless, he explores how fear can be our greatest enemy and how life with Jesus leads us into a new way of living—not from fear, but from love.In this episode, Davey and Naeem talk about the supernatural and spiritual warfare, the differences between the Western and Eastern Christian experience, and how to navigate the estrangement that can arise when you choose to follow Christ. If you've ever longed for a deeper connection with Jesus in the midst of hardship, this conversation will encourage you that—even in your wrestlings—you can find the intimacy with Him that your heart desires. Podcast host, Alan Skorski, interviewed Dr. Tim Orr, an Evangelical leader, who earned six Masters Degrees, including a Masters in Islam, while studying at the London School of Islam under the tutelage of a Shia Muslim leader. During the interview Dr. Orr spoke of his visit to London on October 7, 2023, and without knowing all the news that was happening in Israel following the Hamas invasion, witnessed horrific antisemitic demonstrations taking place in the streets of London. At the same time, he was watching news from America from his hotel room, and saw almost identical types of rallies and demonstrations that were amongst the most antisemitic he had ever witnessed. These events led him to speak out in support of Israel, while he was still in London, and scheduled to speak to Muslim audiences as an interfaith leader. He said that his speaking engagements were immediately cancelled, and the Shia leaders who had once engaged him began to curse him and tell him they regret ever befriending him. Following October 7th, Dr. Orr wrote; “What I felt most was that the Church there was very weak. And that weakness carried a cost. That disorientation deepened when I watched American and European universities erupt days later with the same slogans and emotional choreography. It was then I realized I was witnessing the expression of a coherent transnational worldview, not a series of isolated events.” On antisemitism and how support for Israel is weaponized against Jews, Dr. Orr has written; Antisemitism persists not only because it is protected, but because institutions and cultures continue to choose it for its usefulness. It offers a ready explanation for failure, resentment, and moral unease. It allows societies under strain to direct judgment outward while preserving a sense of righteousness. And it does this by rendering Jews abstract enough to blame and unreal enough to disregard. When Israel is a symbol, every Israeli action is interpreted negatively, because symbols are judged by their natures, not by circumstances. When Israel uses force, it is not responding to a threat, but revealing its nature. When it exhibits restraint, it is merely biding time, and accused of cruelty by inaction: there is no space for tragedy, since tragedy exists only when two legitimate claims are in conflict, and Israel is denied legitimacy from the outset. Intent is always presumed, and never examined. Condemnation is not a conclusion, but a premise. “Dr. Orr looks at how antisemitism operates in today's political, media, and activist spaces—not just as hatred, but as a system that adapts and hides in plain sight—and how Islamist movements and narratives play a role in spreading it in the West. He brings a clear, evidence-based perspective to topics that are often misunderstood or deliberately blurred. Tim is the author of six books, including his forthcoming Antisemitism Is More Than Hatred—It's a System: How It Works, Why It Persists, and How It Adapts to Every Age.” He is currently offering an online course titled: Architecture of Antisemitism: Structure. not Just Hatred -VIN News Watch the video interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f6bE6bTKiE Alan Skorski Reports 29JAN2026 - PODCAST
Earlier last year, we covered Pogroms Progress PT1, focusing on data from Pew indicating the entire world is turning on Israel over Gaza A year later, countries and citizens from all over the world are turning on Israeli tourists for their arrogant, smug, demanding, noisy, violent, and sexually perverse behavior. In other cases, locals are turning on Israelis who have been documented starting fires. A global pogrom is coming, if not currently unfolding. This episode features PT2 and then a BEST of PT1 attached to the end. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Today, much of the Middle East is “Arab”—an identity that now extends across North Africa and up through the Near East to Syria. Yet how did this region become Arab? How did this identity spread? Was it due to migration, or conquest? Historian Yossef Rapoport, in his book Becoming Arab: The Formation of Arab Identity in the Medieval Middle East (Princeton UP, 2025), makes a different argument: That the region's medieval peasants adopted the Arab identity in response to shifting political power, changing land rights, and the spreading Muslim faith. Professor Yossef Rapoport of Queen Mary University London is a historian of the Islamic, Arabic-speaking Middle East in its Middle Ages, from about 1000 to 1500 CE. Among his publications are books on marriage and divorce in late medieval Cairo and Damascus, on the fourteenth-century religious reformer Ibn Taymiyya, and on medieval Islamic maps. What happens when someone who grew up under Islam tells the West what it doesn't want to hear? Former Muslim and Christian convert Danny Burmawi of the Ideological Defense Institute delivers a stark warning about mass migration, political Islam, and the future of Western civilization. Danny explains why mass Muslim migration is transforming Western societies in ways most Americans don't understand. He bluntly warns that there is only one form of Islam and that it requires adherence to jihad. Some Muslim dictators are suppressing it in the hopes of achieving economic prosperity, but that is not trickling down to the Muslims living in the West, thanks to the subversion of Western elites allowing political Islam to operate with impunity. I also discuss my thoughts on how the Left is completely crushing Trump on immigration. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Daily Halacha Podcast - Daily Halacha By Rabbi Eli J. Mansour
Normally, a person who hears Kaddish or Nakdishach may respond even if he hears from a distance, and is not present with the Minyan. There are, however, exceptions to this rule. The Shulhan Aruch writes that a person standing outside a synagogue may respond to Kaddish or Nakdishach, but then adds that according to some opinions, this is not allowed if there is "Tinuf" (filth, such as a trash can), or a non-Jew, in between him and the congregation. At first glance, it appears that the Shulhan Aruch here cites two different opinions, and according to the first opinion, one may respond even if there is "Tinuf" or a non-Jew in between him and the Minyan. If so, then we follow the general rule that the Shulhan Aruch accepts the first opinion when he brings two different views, and thus one may may respond regardless of what is between him and the congregation. Hacham Ovadia Yosef, however, understands the Shulhan Aruch as clarifying his initial statement, and not as citing a dissenting view. Therefore, one may not, in fact, respond to Kaddish or Nakdishach if there is either "Tinuf" or a gentile in between him and the Minyan. The word used by the Shulhan Aruch in this context is "Akum," an acrostic that refers either to an idol – "Avodat Kochabim U'mazalot" – or to an idolater – "Obed Kochabim U'mazalot." The Magen Abraham (Rav Avraham Gombiner, Poland, 1635-1682) understood that the acrostic "Akum" in this context refers to an idol, and not to a gentile. According to this reading, a non-Jew does not interrupt between a Minyan and a person listening from a distance, and he may respond. However, Hacham Ovadia notes that in earlier editions of the Shulhan Aruch, the word used in this passage was not "Akum," but rather "Goy." It is clear that the word was changed as a result of censorship, as Jewish communities needed to avoid giving the impression of looking disdainfully upon their non-Jewish neighbors, and so texts that might be misunderstood as such were occasionally emended. Hence, the Magen Abraham's reading is incorrect, and even the presence of a non-Jew in between a person and the Minyan creates an interruption, preventing him from responding. Since the Shulhan Aruch used the word "Goy" – "gentile" – and not "Obed Kochabim" – "idolater," this Halacha applies to all gentiles, even to those who do not worship idols. The Rambam famously ruled that Muslims are not considered idol-worshippers, since they believe in a single Deity who created the world. For the purposes of this Halacha, however, the non-Jew's religious beliefs are irrelevant, and his presence is considered an obstruction regarding the ability to respond to Kaddish and Nakdishach. The Magen Abraham and Mishna Berura asserted that the Rama (Rav Moshe Isserles, Cracow, 1530-1572) disputed this entire Halacha, and maintained that the presence of filth or of a gentile does not affect the ability to respond to Kaddish or Nakdishach. Nevertheless, Sephardic practice follows the Shulhan Aruch's ruling. It must be noted that this entire discussion refers to the case of a person who is not inside together with the Minyan, and there is a gentile in between him and the Minyan. In such a case, the presence of the Shechina needs to extend from the Minyan to the person standing at a distance, and this extension can be obstructed. A gentile's presence inside the Minyan, however, has no effect whatsoever. If, for example, a political figure is visiting the synagogue, or a congregant has a non-Jewish aide helping him in the synagogue, it is certainly permissible for everyone to respond to all the prayers, even if the non-Jew stands in between a person and the Hazzan. Although there is an opinion among the Poskim that is stringent in this regard, the consensus follows the lenient position. One example where this problem arises was noted by the Ben Ish Hai (Rav Yosef Haim of Baghdad, 1833-1909), who describes how it was common in Baghdad for merchants to display their wares in the hallways of synagogues. If a person was in the hallway of such a synagogue, he needed to ensure that the non-Jewish merchant was not standing in between him and the sanctuary. Another situation where this could arise is an airport. If ten men find an area to pray, and someone joins their Minyan from a distance, he may not answer unless he ensures that no gentiles come in between him and the Minyan. This could arise also when a person hosts a catered event in his home, and a Minyan is formed in the living room. If someone wishes to participate in the Minyan from the kitchen, he must ensure that non-Jewish workers are not standing in between him and the Minyan. Some Poskim place a very significant limitation on this entire Halacha, maintaining that it applies only if the person can see the "Tinuf" or the non-Jew in between him and the Minyan. But if, for example, a person lives near a synagogue, and he hears the prayers through the window, then he may respond even if there is "Tinuf" or a gentile in between. This is the view taken by the Gaon of Vilna (1720-1797) and by Rav Shlomo Zurafa (Algeria, 1785-1859). Although others seem to disagree with this ruling, it is accepted as Halacha by Hacham Ovadia Yosef, in Yehaveh Da'at, and by his son, Hacham David Yosef, in Halacha Berura. This Halacha becomes relevant in the case of a person who hears a live broadcast of a prayer service. Some congregations arrange a livestream of the Tefila for the benefit of those who are unable to attend due to health reasons, or for those in remote areas without a Minyan. The accepted Halacha is that although one cannot fulfill his obligation to recite a text – such as the reading of Megilat Ester on Purim – by listening via telephone or some other communication system, one can respond to Berachot, Kaddish and Nakdishach if he hears the recitation through a live broadcast. Quite obviously, there is "Tinuf" and gentiles in between the individual listening to a broadcast and the synagogue miles away where the prayers are being recited. Nevertheless, Hacham Ovadia ruled that one may respond, in light of the aforementioned ruling that everything in between may be disregarded if it cannot be seen. A Minyan may be formed even though non-Jews live in the same building, above the Minyan. Hacham Ovadia writes that there is no source whatsoever for the notion that the presence of gentiles above a Minyan obstructs the prayers from ascending to the heavens. Therefore, it is entirely permissible to pray on a ground floor even though gentiles are present above the Minyan. Summary: If a person hears Kaddish or Nakdishach from outside the area where the Minyan takes place, he may respond, unless there is "Tinuf" (filth) or a non-Jew in between him and the Minyan. If, however, the "Tinuf" or the gentile cannot be seen – such as if a person hears a Minyan from a window in his home – then he may respond. Therefore, a person who hears a Minyan via livestream may respond. A gentile's presence in the synagogue, or in the area where the Minyan is held, has no effect, and everyone in the room may respond.
Alaina Morgan's Atlantic Crescent: Building Geographies of Black and Muslim Liberation in the African Diaspora (UNC Press, 2025) introduces the conceptual framework of the “Atlantic Crescent” to capture the overlapping encounters between Black, Afro-Caribbean, and South Asian Muslims in the United States and the Caribbean. Using rich archival material, such as the Nation of Islam's Muhammad Speaks, we learn about 20th century Black Muslim movements such as the Moorish Science Temple and the Nation of Islam as they encounter and engage with South Asian Muslim communities, like the Ahmadiyya movement in the US, as their discourses of global anti-imperial and decolonial struggles shaped or overlapped with each other. The second half of the book takes us to Bermuda to trace the translation of these Black Muslim liberation movements into the Caribbean. By focusing on the flow and encounters of these overlapping diasporas, we learn how anti-imperial and ant-colonial discourses were inhabited by varied South Asian, Black, and Afro-Caribbean diasporic communities, and how organizing, be it around labour and education, framed Islam through Black and Afro-diasporic liberatory registers. Morgan's sharp analysis of these rich diasporic flows charts new imagined geographies of freedom struggles and resistance. This study will be of interest to scholars who think and write on Islam in the global west and the Caribbean, diaspora studies, anti-colonial and anti-imperial Muslim organizing and much more. On Christmas Day 2025, the US carried out missile strikes on suspected Islamist militants in Nigeria. They came after President Trump said he would intervene to protect Christians amid controversial claims of a “Christian genocide” in the country. The Nigerian government rejects such claims, saying both Muslim and Christian communities have been affected by insecurity in the country. Alex Last visits Plateau state in central Nigeria one area where ethnic and sectarian violence that has been the focus of US concern, to hear from both sides and meet those trying to bring peace.Produced and presented by Alex Last
Alaina Morgan's Atlantic Crescent: Building Geographies of Black and Muslim Liberation in the African Diaspora (UNC Press, 2025) introduces the conceptual framework of the “Atlantic Crescent” to capture the overlapping encounters between Black, Afro-Caribbean, and South Asian Muslims in the United States and the Caribbean. Inside the Front‑Line of Resistance: Photojournalist Stephanie Keith on Visual Anthropology, ICE Protests & the Power of Community Observers
It's Monday, January 26th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus The Iranian protests are putting Christians at greater risk The Islamic Republic of Iran is hostile to protestors and Christians alike. Lana Silk of the Christian organization Transform Iran said, “Police are indiscriminately shooting into the crowds. The people try to fight back, but they are unarmed and almost entirely defenseless.” She is certain that more than 12,000 Iranians have been killed, and quite possibly 30,000 or more, reports International Christian Concern. She said, “The streets are now being patrolled by tanks and aggressive armed security forces. People are being rounded up, beaten, imprisoned, and killed. Men, women, and children, it doesn't matter.” Anyone who dares to go outside is in danger. Though Iran's Islamic regime, where 95% of the population is Muslim, treats almost none of its people well, it tends to be especially ruthless with its Christian minority. Iran is currently ranked as the 10th-most oppressive country for Christians. The Iranian government makes no secret about its attitude toward Christianity. Such worship in the country's main language -- Persian, also known as Farsi -- is essentially outlawed, as is any Christian literature written in that language. Matthew 5:10 says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.” Vice President Vance announces expansion of Mexico City Policy Appearing at the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke up for life, reports LifeNews.com. VANCE: “With the Dobbs decision, what the President did, what the Supreme Court did, was put a definitive end to the tyranny of judicial rule on the question of human life. He shattered a 50-year culture of disposability, one that treated human life as expendable the moment that it became inconvenient. And he empowered our nation and our movement to build a culture of life from the grassroots up.” Vice President Vance outlined some of the Trump administration's pro-life accomplishments. VANCE: “We started by undoing the evils we saw under the previous administration, like, for example, throwing priests and grandmothers in prison for praying outside a[n abortion] clinic. That's over; we stopped it. (cheers) “Where the previous administration mandated taxpayer funding for abortions, including travel costs across the entire government, this administration ended it. (cheers) We have expanded conscience protections for health care workers and defended faith based foster care and adoption. “This administration launched fraud investigations into Planned Parenthood affiliates (cheers) for millions of dollars in [Paycheck Protection Program] loans that were unlawfully received and unlawfully forgiven by the Biden administration. You should not be able to commit fraud and use taxpayer money for abortion. It's that simple! (cheers) “At many of our departments, we've reinstated a ban on the use of fetal tissue in federal research. That's another big one, and this is something we're so proud of. We're returning accountability to our foreign policy as well. “Under Joe Biden, it was the policy of the United States to export abortion and radical gender ideology all around the world. That is what they did with your tax money. (boos) They would relentlessly bully developing countries into parroting their far left views. But under President Trump's leadership, and with our great Secretary of State, we believe that every country in the world has the duty to protect life.” And Vice President Vance cited an expansion of the pro-life Mexico City policy. VANCE: “Today, our administration is proud to announce a historic expansion of the Mexico City policy. We're going to start blocking every international [non-governmental organization] that performs or promotes abortion abroad from receiving $1 of U.S. money. (cheers) We're expanding this policy to protect life, to combat DEI, and the radical gender ideologies that prey on our children. “The rule will now cover every non-military foreign assistance that America sends. All in all, we have expanded the Mexico City policy about three times as big as it was before. And we're proud of it because we believe in fighting for life.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” ICE shot and killed man in Minneapolis Federal agents shot and killed a 37-year-old man in Minneapolis on Saturday morning, less than three weeks after an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Good, amid an ongoing surge in immigration enforcement action across the city, reports CBS News. Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse who worked at the Minneapolis Veterans Administration hospital, was identified as the man killed by a Border Patrol agent. CBS News in Minneapolis reported, “Videos from the scene show that Pretti was holding a cellphone, not a gun, when he was shot.” However, ICE Commander Gregory Bovino said the agent acted in self-defense after attempting to disarm Pretti. Listen. BOVINO: “An individual approached us Border Patrol agents with a nine millimeter, semi-automatic handgun. The agents attempted to disarm the individual, but he violently resisted. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, a Border Patrol agent fired defensive shots. “Medics on the scene immediately delivered medical aid to the subject, but the subject was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect also had two loaded magazines and no accessible ID. “This looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement. Then, about 200 rioters arrived at the scene and began to obstruct and assault law enforcement.” That's when an armored ICE vehicle was pelted by stones by angry Leftists. (audio from the streets of Minneapolis) Trump sues JPMorgan Chase for $5 billion over 'political' debanking And finally, President Donald Trump is suing the JPMorgan Chase bank and its CEO Jamie Dimon in a $5 billion lawsuit filed last Thursday, accusing the financial institution of debanking Trump for political reasons, reports Fox Business. The president's attorney, Alejandro Brito, filed the lawsuit Thursday morning in Florida state court in Miami on behalf of the president and several of his hospitality companies. Brito quoted JPMorgan's code of conduct, which states that the bank operates "with the highest level of integrity and ethical conduct." The Trump lawsuit asserts, "Despite claiming to hold these principles dear, [J.P. Morgan Chase violated them by unilaterally—and without warning or remedy—terminating several of [the] Plaintiff's bank accounts." This is not the first time. Sam Brownback, Trump's Ambassador for Religious Freedom, wrote a New York Post column last year in which he said, “If you've ever had a rug pulled out from under you, then you know how it feels to suddenly lose access to your own bank account. That's what happened to me in 2022, when JPMorgan Chase, America's largest bank, abruptly canceled our newly opened account for the National Committee for Religious Freedom. “[We] launched a national campaign to collect and tell the stories of those who, like us, had been canceled or punished by their banks, payment processors or even insurance companies. We found that most debanking victims have two things in common: Their finances are in order, and they're conservative or religious.” Proverbs 11:3 says, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity." Ralph welcomes professor and historian Daniel Immerwahr to discuss the history of the United States' overseas possessions and his book "How to Hide an Empire: A History of the Greater United States."Daniel Immerwahr is a professor and historian at Northwestern University. He is the author of Thinking Small: The United States and the Lure of Community Development and How to Hide an Empire: A History of the Greater United States. What I wanted to do in the book was to look at the United States and to take seriously the parts of the United States that don't always feature in the textbooks—that are outside of the mainland, the contiguous blob. And what I discovered when I did that was that these places were often in the mainland's mind seen as peripheral places, but this was not a peripheral history…It turns out that once you've got the territories in view, you have a different understanding of them. And so a lot of US history (and really important parts of US history) has actually taken place outside of the part of the country that we normally think of as the United States.Daniel ImmerwahrI got really interested in the book in how it came to be and why it mattered that US standards prevailed and how other countries dealt with that by either jumping on the ship or trying to resist and that became difficult for them. And how emotionally hard it is for other parts of the world to [face] this onslaught of not just the US military, not just US planes, its bombs—we know all that stuff, and I don't want to diminish it, but all the US stuff and ways of talking and the English language and the dollar. And each one of those comes as a kind of challenge: Are you going to adopt this or not? Because life's going to be a little harder if you don't, but if you do, you're kind of a puppet. And everyone in the world has had to deal with that challenge on a daily basis—what screws they use, what language they speak, all that kind of stuff. And we don't talk about that a lot, but that actually strikes me as a really important facet of US power.Daniel ImmerwahrNews 1/23/26* Our first two stories this week come to us from New York City. On January 16th, Mayor Zohran Mamdani drew a line in the sand in an address celebrating a historic settlement with A&E real estate. While A&E is a serial offender, racking up “over 140,000 total violations, including 35,000 in the last year alone,” Mayor Mamdani made clear that this was to serve as an example for other landlords, saying “City Hall will not sit idly by and accept this illegality, nor will we allow bad actors to continue to harass tenants with impunity.” Mayor Mamdani made tenants rights a central pillar of his campaign and is signaling that it will be a major aspect of his administration as well, with the centerpiece being the “Rental Ripoff” hearings he plans to hold in all five boroughs. Yet again, Mamdani provides a blueprint for other Democratic elected officials in cities across the nation, if only they would pick up the mantle.* In other news out of New York, on January 13th New York State Attorney General Letitia James announced a “settlement ending Betar US's…campaign of violence, harassment, and intimidation against Arab, Muslim, and Jewish New Yorkers.” Betar, an extremist Zionist outfit, is considered so fringe that even the ultra-Zionist Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has labeled it an “extremist group” for its “embrace of Islamophobia and harass[ment] of Muslims.” Examples of Betar's bias-motivated harassment include labeling keffiyehs, traditional Palestinian scarves – as “rape rags” and claiming that the number of babies who had died in Gaza was “not enough,” adding, “we demand blood in Gaza.” According to this announcement, Betar is seeking to dissolve its nonprofit corporation and intends to wind down operations in New York. Mayor Mamdani added, “For years, Betar has sowed a campaign of hatred across New York, trafficking in Islamophobic extremism and harassing those with whom they disagreed. There is no place for their bigotry in our politics, and I'm grateful for [Attorney General James's] unflagging pursuit of justice.”* In more Israel news, earlier this week Israeli human rights lawyer Alon Sapir recounted the following story on social media. “On Saturday, I represented an American Jewish activist in deportation proceedings from the country due to his leftism. In the hearing, they presented him with a photo from a demonstration in the US to link him to anti-Israel organizations.” The photo in question was “taken at a demonstration against the Nazis in Charlottesville [Virginia],” and the Israelis “apparently took it from a page that promotes white supremacy.” This deportation proceeding – wherein the Israeli government used a white-supremacist photograph of an activist protesting Nazism to deport him on the grounds of being anti-Israel, is of course, stunningly backwards. But, as Sapir writes, “Indeed, [this is] grounds for deportation from the Jewish state.” * In more news from abroad, the New York Times reports the People's Republic of China has hit a new economic milestone: the world's largest trade surplus ever. According to economic data released by the country's General Administration of Customs, “China's surplus, the value of goods and services it sold abroad versus its imports, reached $1.19 trillion, an increase of 20 percent from 2024.” As this piece notes, “The enormous trade surplus…came despite efforts by President Trump to use tariffs to contain China's factories.” While the tariffs succeeded in reducing China's trade surplus with the United States by 22% last year, Chinese firms compensated by increasing sales to other regions and “in many cases bypassing American tariffs by shipping goods to the United States through Southeast Asia and elsewhere.” In short, the tariffs have succeeded only in raising prices for American consumers by forcing Chinese firms to route their products through secondary markets instead of selling directly to Americans – further enriching China while further immiserating everyday Americans.* This trade surplus is expected to widen further with news of an economic thaw between China and Canada. AP reports Canada has “agreed to cut its 100% tariff on Chinese electric cars in return for lower tariffs on Canadian farm products,” according to Prime Minister Mark Carney. Carney added that there would initially be an annual cap of 49,000 Chinese EVs coming into the Canadian market at a tariff rate of 6.1%, but this cap would grow to about 70,000 over the next five years. In return, China will “reduce its total tariff on canola seeds, a major Canadian export, from 84% to about 15%,” and allow visa-free travel to China for Canadian citizens, many of whom are of Chinese descent. This deal is obviously a humiliating disaster for President Trump, who sought to both isolate China economically and force Canada to further subjugate itself to the United States, going so far as to muse about annexing the country and making it the “51st state.” Like the Greenland fiasco, this is a case of Trump needlessly alienating American allies, driving them into the open arms of more rational partners like China.* Meanwhile, in South Korea, Al Jazeera reports former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for his role in the failed coup attempt orchestrated by ousted president Yoon Suk-yeol. In a moving statement, Judge Lee Jin-gwan of the Seoul Central District Court, said Han “disregarded his duty and responsibility as prime minister,” and “As a result…South Korea was in danger of returning to the dark past when the basic rights and liberal democratic order of the people were violated, potentially preventing them from escaping from the quagmire of dictatorship.” These words sound especially tragic to American ears at this moment, as our country slides ever further away from basic rights and liberal democratic order. Han is “the first member of Yoon's cabinet to be found guilty and sentenced to jail,” and his sentence gives an indication of how seriously the court is taking this matter. As we discussed last week, prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Yoon himself.* Moving back to American politics, NOTUS reports Congresswoman and Senate hopeful Jasmine Crockett is amassing money from some unsavory donors. These include, “Tech titan and conservative provocateur Marc Andreessen [and] Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss of Facebook fame,” as well as several super PACs funded by the cryptocurrency lobby. Perhaps most damningly though, she has received donations from the PACs for BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, and massive defense contractor Lockheed Martin. Crockett's acceptance of these donations has sent ripples through the progressive community. Fellow Texas Democratic Congressman Lloyd Doggett called it “very troubling that she would be reliant on those kinds of contributions.” Adam Green, a co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, is quoted in this piece refuting characterizations of Crockett as in line with that group's preferences, saying “To call her in any way the progressive or leftist candidate is a misnomer...She's a somewhat effective anti-Trump troll and resistance liberal, but is not one of us when it comes to a progressive populist or anti-corporate warrior.” Green added that his group will likely endorse Crockett's opponent in the primary, Texas State Representative James Talarico. As of mid-January, Talarico leads Crockett 47% to 38% in the polls, with 15% undecided, per Emerson.* Another red state senate race, this one in Montana, just got more interesting in its own way. According to the Montana Free Press, “University of Montana President Seth Bodnar is expected to run for U.S. Senate as an independent,” which the paper claims is “part of an elaborate plan apparently backed by former U.S. Sen. Jon Tester.” Apparently, this move has angered Montana Democrats, two of whom have filed long-shot bids to run against incumbent Republican Senator Steve Daines. The Free Press reached out to Tester for a comment, and he sent back a text message explaining his reasoning behind backing the independent bid, writing “Every race I ran as Montana Senator and U.S. Senator it was about distancing myself from the Democratic Party…. During my last two races the democratic Party was poison in my attempts to get re-elected.” Tester is likely taking some inspiration from the Independent Senate campaigns of Dan Osborn in Nebraska. Osborn ran against incumbent Republican Deb Fischer in 2024 and made the race unusually competitive, eventually losing 53% to 47%. Osborn is now running against Nebraska's other incumbent Republican Senator, billionaire Pete Ricketts, and the two are in a statistical dead heat in the polls.* Next, with tax season on the horizon, the neutering of the Internal Revenue Service is starting to be felt. More Perfect Union reports “The IRS is effectively unable to audit private equity, venture capital, and real estate investment firms,” because “Thousands of workers have been fired from the agency,” post-DOGE. According to the numbers, audits of the aforementioned giant enterprises have “dropped 80 or 90%.” Stunningly, Forbes reports that instead of fighting to re-fund the IRS and restore some oversight to the lawless corporate sector, lawmakers from both parties are seeking to slash $11.7 billion of the $80 billion allocated to the agency in the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. As this piece notes, that number itself is deceptive; a report issued by the Treasury Inspector General, found that that $80 billion has already been shrunken down to just $37.6 billion, and the IRS has only spent about $13.8 billion of the IRA funding. The Treasury Inspector General's projections of the additional funds available to the IRS is approximately $19.3 billion, meaning an additional cut of $11.7 billion would effectively curtail any plans to expand the IRS to police large, complex financial entities.* Finally, on January 14th, Congresswoman Robin Kelly of Illinois formally introduced three articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. These articles, accusing Noem of obstruction of Congress, violation of public trust, self-dealing, and directing ICE to make “widespread warrantless arrests, forgo due process, and use violence against United States citizens, lawful residents, and other individuals,” initially garnered 80 Democratic cosponsors. But that list appears to be growing. Newsweek reports that as of January 21st, the list has grown to 100 cosponsors, nearly half of the 213-member Democratic caucus in the House. A successful impeachment vote is unlikely, as Republicans still control the House, but as provocative and unpopular actions across the country – by DHS in general and ICE specifically – continue to escalate, this list is only expected to grow. The larger question remains however: even if Noem is removed, will that force the administration to change course or will they simply appoint another pliant enforcer in her place. We can't know unless we try. This has been Francesco DeSantis, with In Case You Haven't Heard. Get full access to Ralph Nader Radio Hour at www.ralphnaderradiohour.com/subscribe
If conspirituality names the ways religion and spirituality are weaponized to justify power, prospirituality points to religious traditions doing the opposite: grounding resistance, ethical clarity, and solidarity in moments of crisis. So: is there a growing prospirituality response to fascism, genocide, climate collapse, and AI-driven labor precarity? Matthew argues that yeah, there's some good news. In Israel, scripture has been mobilized by political and religious leaders to sacralize violence in Gaza. But there's also a surge of Jewish religious resistance among U.S. rabbis and Peter Beinart's On Being Jewish After Gaza sets a new landmark of reckoning. Mona Haydar's rapping and chaplaincy models a form of Muslim spirituality that is feminist, anti-genocide, and rooted in mutual aid, while resisting both Islamophobia and liberal domestication. Then there's Pope Leo's escalating critiques of U.S. immigration policy and his renewed emphasis on liberation theology.
