Jillian Bell has a bad habit of talking herself out of acting jobs. She was supposed to play a much bigger role in Adam Sandler's ‘Murder Mystery 2' and almost starred in one of Netflix's biggest hit shows. So when it came time to make her directorial debut ‘Summer of 69' (now streaming on Hulu), she decided to stay (almost entirely) behind the camera. In her return to this podcast, Bell talks about casting SNL's Chloe Fineman as a stripper fairy godmother-type character opposite newcomer Sam Morelos in her surprisingly sweet teen sex comedy. She also gets into her own complicated history with SNL 15 years after she spent one season at the show as a writer who desperately wanted to be in the cast. Plus, Bell reveals what it was like to reprise one of her first TV roles in the series finale of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm' and tells a deeply embarrassing story about the first and only time she met Justin Timberlake. Adam Sandler had some touching words for a costar who has recently passed on to the big swamp in the sky
Time for our 5th Adam Sandler flick! Why can no one can pronounce the name Julian? How can Arthur be so bad at his job? Couldn't Kevin have avoided this whole trial? Join us as we discuss the movie and try some Yoohoo for the first time!
Tim and Jeff Kurkjian chat with their friend Steve Rushin! It starts with ear health and leads us to unique golfing experiences, and a memorable basketball game with Adam Sandler. They also discuss the significance of Strat-O-Matic baseball in their lives, but most notably, they discuss Pope Leo's love of baseball and the Chicago White Sox. They delve into the world of baseball promotions, the charm of vintage baseball cards, the joy of wordplay through anagrams, and the competitive spirit within a sports-loving family. Additionally, they reflect on the impact of 70s television on their lives, and a project that almost was for one of the best writers of all time. We read a tribute to Morris the Alligator from Adam Sandler, a tweet from Rick Pitino, and more.
In this episode, I sit down with Jeb and Kate Hartnell for a laid-back and laughter-filled conversation. We kick things off by ranking our favorite (and least favorite) Adam Sandler movies, then shift gears to talk about the realities of maintaining a strong marriage while Jeb spends over 120 days a year in the outdoors. Things take a humorous turn as we poke fun at my obsession with workwear fashion for a blue-collar job. As always, we wrap up with some laughs and light-hearted banter.
In this episode, Shanté and Danny celebrate fifty of them! There's a game celebrating our short history and a surprisingly heartfelt Adam Sandler movie as we hope for many more to come.

Adam Sandler. Tyre Nichols death.
Back after only a two week break this time with Top 3 Adam Sandler films, a change to the intro music and tales of the Morris dancing championships. There's confusion over the next Top 3, a new Rocky spinoff film and a willy biting old lady. All this and your regular features too.
Before they were movie stars, Brendan Fraser and Adam Sandler were in a band with Steve Buscemi. Critics were particularly harsh to Airheads, and audiences failed to show up in the theaters. Click here to try it out!Welcome back to Bad Dads Film Review, where this week we're dusting off the golf clubs and heading to the green for one of Adam Sandler's most beloved and chaotic comedies: Happy Gilmore. Directed by Dennis Dugan and released in 1996, this sports-comedy cult classic swings hard with juvenile gags, unexpected heart, and more fistfights than you'd ever expect in a golf movie.Happy Gilmore (Sandler) is a failed hockey player with a temper problem and a surprisingly powerful slapshot. After discovering that his unique (and deeply unorthodox) swing can drive a golf ball the length of a football field, he stumbles into the PGA tour—not out of love for the sport, but to raise money to save his beloved grandmother's house from foreclosure. But golf, as it turns out, is full of smug pros, snooty country clubs, and unspoken rules. Happy's arrival—complete with loud trousers, foul language, and literal wrestling moves—ruffles feathers, especially with tour golden boy Shooter McGavin (a scene-stealing Christopher McDonald), who quickly becomes Happy's nemesis. With the help of former pro Chubbs Peterson (Carl Weathers, complete with a wooden hand) and love interest/publicist Virginia Venit (Julie Bowen), Happy sets out to conquer golf in his own anarchic way. There's also an unforgettable appearance from Bob Barker—yes, that Bob Barker—in one of the most unexpected and hilarious cameos in movie history.Happy Gilmore is probably best suited to older kids and teens thanks to the language and violence (including a man being hit by a Volkswagen and another being mauled by an alligator). But for grown-up kids of the '90s, it's a nostalgic gem that still delivers laughs—often in spite of itself. It's not highbrow, it's not subtle, and it's certainly not refined, but it knows exactly what it is: a hilarious, scrappy underdog sports comedy with a foul mouth and a huge heart.Happy Gilmore is loud, juvenile, and a little bit stupid—and that's exactly why it works. It's a goofy celebration of doing things your own way, sticking it to pompous gatekeepers, and punching your way to success… even on the golf course. Fore! ⛳️
That Show Hasn't Been Funny In Years: an SNL podcast on Radio Misfits
Nick takes a deep dive into one of the most chaotic and heavily criticized seasons in Saturday Night Live history: Season 20, also known as The Bad Boys Club Season. Following the departure of core cast members like Phil Hartman, Rob Schneider, and Julia Sweeney, the show found itself leaning hard into the rowdy, often crude humor of Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, and David Spade—while sidelining much of the female cast, including Janine Garofalo, who left midway through the season. The cast was bloated, the writing uneven, and the press relentless. Nick walks through the entire season with behind-the-scenes stories, including how Jeff Daniels nearly suffered a serious makeup mishap, why Dan Aykroyd unofficially hosted instead of the listed John Goodman, and how the writers struggled with brilliant hosts like Bob Newhart, John Turturro, David Hyde Pierce, and Courtney Cox—while completely losing control during hosting gigs by George Foreman and Deion Sanders. Despite its rough reputation, the season had its moments: Norm Macdonald took over the Weekend Update desk, Molly Shannon made a strong debut halfway through, and both Damon Wayans and Dana Carvey returned to deliver some much-needed highlights. You'll also hear Stuart Smalley hilariously scolding the public for ignoring his movie, and Bill Murray delivering a moving tribute to the late Michael O'Donoghue. It's a full look at one of SNL's messiest, most fascinating seasons—flawed, but unforgettable. [Ep 122]

I miss Adam Sandler's dirty comedy albums. Amusement park goers got stuck on a ride at Denver's Elitch Gardens. Massachusetts town Rockport vandalized by woodpecker who's damaged 25 cars in mating season pecking spree. Shaq should get an adult diaper endorsement. Australian radio station didn't tell listeners that their midday host was artificial intelligence. I explain why this isn't a big deal. Plus, why music radio talents are on the low end of media talent. Like we discussed last week, Shedeur Sanders fell to the 5th round to the Browns. During the NFL draft, Shedeur was pranked by a family member of the Atlanta Falcons. Roger Goodell expects 16 international games a year soon, including some in Asia. UK, Germany, Mexico, and Brazil are already hosting NFL games.
He seems very down to earth but is it true he has a car and house like everyday people?

Get ready to spark up your nostalgia because this week on No More Late Fees, Danielle, Jackie, and their cousin Marc are rolling deep into the ultimate nineties and 2000s stoner movie showdown — a Mount Kushmore of cinematic greatness! In the latest episode of Fear and Loathing in Cinema (No. 117), the podcast's resident connoisseurs of the absurd; Bryan, Preston, and Dan, turn their hazy gaze toward Grandma's Boy, a 2006 cult oddity that remains one of the stranger artifacts in the Adam Sandler cinematic universe. Notable for being the first R-rated production under Sandler's Happy Madison banner, Grandma's Boy is also remarkable for featuring the usual coterie of Sandler's comedic allies; minus Sandler himself. The post Episode #117 – Grandma's Boy (2006) first appeared on Boomstick Comics.

Send us a textAn astronaut floating alone six months into a year-long mission. A mysterious alien spider that appears out of nowhere. A marriage crumbling across the vast emptiness of space. Netflix's "Spaceman" promised profound cosmic revelations but delivered a beautiful yet frustratingly hollow meditation on human connection.Adam Sandler stars as Jakob, a Czech astronaut studying a mysterious cloud near Jupiter while his pregnant wife Lenka (Carey Mulligan) contemplates leaving him back on Earth. When a giant talking spider named Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) materializes on his spacecraft, Jakob embarks on a psychological journey through memories and regrets rather than the stars. The film tantalizes with visual splendor – the zero-gravity sequences alone showcase remarkable technical achievement – but ultimately fails to answer its own existential questions. What makes "Spaceman" so frustrating is how close it comes to profundity. Adapted from Jaroslav Kalfař's novel "Spaceman of Bohemia," the film strips away crucial context that would have heightened the stakes. In the book, Jakob's mission is explicitly suicidal, a redemptive sacrifice to restore his family's honor after his father's disgrace as a government informant. Without this framework, Jakob's journey feels aimless, his relationship problems trivial compared to the cosmic scale of his surroundings. The film's greatest strength lies in its willingness to embrace ambiguity – is the spider real or a manifestation of Jakob's lonely mind? Does the mysterious cloud contain universal wisdom or merely reflect our own projections? Yet this same ambiguity becomes its downfall when extended to character motivations and narrative purpose. By the time Jakob reaches his emotional epiphany, we've spent too little time understanding who he was before to appreciate who he's become.Have you ever felt disconnected from someone you love despite being physically close? How would that feeling magnify across millions of miles of empty space? Watch "Spaceman" for its visual poetry and committed performances, but prepare for an emotional journey that, like its protagonist, never quite reaches its destination.Written Lovingly with AIBe our friend!Dan: @shakybaconTony: @tonydczechAnd follow the podcast on IG: @hatewatchingDAT

Will these tangential tales find a place in our Adam Sandler themed star charts?
